In The Wolf is Mine , Paige Tyler brings murder, kidnapping, magic, romance, action, and suspense to the thirteenth book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team paranormal romantic suspense series. Set in contemporary times and mainly in Dallas, Texas, this novel features SWAT werewolf Connor Malone and Kat Davenport.

Connor Malone and some of his SWAT team are in San Antonio looking for their teammate. However, things go wrong at an abandoned site outside of the city. They’re fighting against a creature that may be more powerful than they are.

Back in Dallas, a powerful woman, Kat Davenport, claims she’s a friend of Connor’s and she needs the SWAT team’s help to defeat the magic wielder who has made her a feline for most of the last four years. When she and Connor meet again, their chemistry is blazing hot. How do they know each other?

Connor and Kat are fantastic characters. While Connor is an alpha and protective, Kat is a strong and powerful female protagonist. They balance each other well. Despite being attracted to each other, they keep their feelings to themselves for a while letting the attraction build instead of an instant romance. Characters from previous books in the series make appearances, but the focus is on Connor and Kat.

The plot was complex with lots of twists and turns and the stakes were high. The significant amount of danger and action kept me fully engaged and made this a true page turner for me. The author uses a unique take on werewolves and does a good job of explaining this.

It is a riveting story with protagonists that I liked and cheered on as their efforts to combat the powerful creature and the magic wielder progressed and became ever more dangerous and unusual. It held my attention fully and contained the elements that I love in this genre of books. This book delivers on escapism through attraction, friendship, family, romance, and love. At the same time, it tackles the serious issues of disappearances, evil, and family relationships. The addition of magic added another dimension to this novel, making it an exceptional read. While most conflicts and issues are resolved, there a thread that may end up in a future book.

Overall, it was suspenseful, full of danger, and action-packed. This engaging combination delivered on the promise of its premise and opening scenes. The subplots tied together well, the main characters were strong, and the ending was explosive. If you enjoy thrilling paranormal romantic suspense novels, then I recommend you check out this series. There is enough background that this novel can be read as a standalone, but the series is best read in order.

SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Paige Tyler provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date is currently set for January 10, 2023. This review was originally posted at Mystery and Suspense Magazine.

The Wolf is Mine by Paige Tyler
SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series #13. Paranormal wolf shifter romance. Best read as part of the series.
Two team members are missing so Connor and other Dallas SWAT members travel to their last known location. They find their team members but then the exit seems to have disappeared.
Kat works a bit of magic to help open a door but that puts a beacon on her abilities. Kat is the target of a power-hungry mage along with a group of teens he’s kidnapped. It’s up to the SWAT team and Kat to save Dallas.

Magic is now part of this SWAT world. And I alway knew Kat the cat was more than just a cat! The spell that made her a cat, gives her a break for a few days, turning her human again and she hopes to stay with Connor as she always has. If she can sleep curled up on his chest, all the better for sleeping. Or maybe other things now that’s she is back to human?

Quick read with the SWAT team trying to fight magic. Entertaining with medium heat and a bit of humor because of the situation. Fated romance with suspense and many of the couples from previous books in the series making appearances. I love this series. Escape into the paranormal.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I purchased a copy to share.

Longtime series fans would probably consider this one as a big ‘most anticipated’ book because the not so surprise reveal about the S.W.A.T. team feline mascot finally getting the limelight with her favorite werewolf Connor Malone. Paige Tyler has set up this book from much earlier in the series when it comes to this pair and I was ready for it.

The Wolf Is Mine is thirteenth in the series that is part of an ever broadening world of standalone paranormal romances in the Special Wolf Alpha Team series and the spinoff STAT series. I say standalone, but really the worldbuilding and character connections flow from beginning and through the series.

There is an investigation the Dallas police SWAT team werewolves are working on when kids start to go missing, but only they know they are investigating a paranormal crime with some sort of sinister purpose. Kat Davenport is on the case with Connor and the others and she recognizes witch magic involved. Her past with Marko the warlock who destroyed her coven and nearly had her may not be as in the past as Kat thought.

All along, Paige Tyler wrote the cat into scenes and meant readers to catch on there was more to the cat and even instances when the cat was uncanny with mysterious help so it was fun to see her up on two legs and sharing her story with the werewolves that she considered friends and found family though they were just meeting the real Kat.

Meanwhile, Connor is a cranky werewolf about the fact that his cat is an attractive human. He needs time to adjust. I do think Kat’s assumption that Connor would throw up his hands in happiness and express his love the second he saw her human form was definite daydream territory. I actually think I’d have reacted like Connor because, though it wasn’t her fault that she couldn’t communicate, it was on her that she lived in his intimate space and stayed close to him at work, workout room, etc. It was voyeuristic and that takes some adjustment that even the fated mate The One attraction didn’t quite mitigate. But, they share a case and a building attraction in human form so it wasn’t long that things were on track and Connor was worried how they would break the curse spell so Kat wouldn’t lose her human form again.

The ending was a huge adrenaline rush and, once again, has shown the series has advanced beyond the werewolves to, in this case, the witches and a few other darker nasties out there. Spicy hot romance, suspenseful and tough action with a paranormal world and characters make this a must-read paranormal romance series.

I rec’d an eARC from NetGalley to read in exchange for an honest review.

Well....this one got interesting right away when I realized who Kat was. I found that part intriguing, as much so as how she introduced herself to everyone and their reactions. I have to say they all were pretty good with things.

The case they all were working on was so crazy! I hated that kids were in danger and how it connected to Kat. What was worse was how it seemed like they were on a deadline with bad things happening to Kat if they didn't get things figured out.

With a lot of work between everyone, even some police officers that knew something was up, but not sure what, they managed to save the kids and Kat did what needed to be done to save herself. That led to a very happy ending for her and Connor. They both deserved it!

Paige Tyler returns with another installment of the thrilling and exciting SWAT series. A blend of paranormal romance and romantic suspense, this series is one that I keep coming back to because of its uniqueness. These days, you don’t see too many books that blend genres like this anymore. So for that reason alone, I find myself intrigue by this book.

This book features werewolf Connor Malone and Kat Davenport, which are two characters that I really enjoyed. Tyler does a wonderful job of making them both likeable and admirable. I found myself reading through these pages quickly because I wanted to know more about them.

What’s nice is that the secondary cast of characters is great as well, so when you throw in the worldbuilding and the thrilling, action-packed scenes, you really have the whole package. I thoroughly enjoyed THE WOLF IS MINE and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Paranormal Romantic Suspense. It’s fast-paced and action-packed, so it’s guaranteed to keep you on your toes!

OH WOW i did not see that coming but i loved this story and loved seeing Conner and Kat fall in love and accept their Soul deep connection so quickly instead of fighting it like so many others did. Wish it had been a little longer allowing us to wallowing in their relationship, but oh well.

Looking forward to seeing them in future stories.

This is an intense read with great characters. Kat's unique situation is a page turner. Her being in the locker room made me laugh. Any female with that chance would take it. Loved the ending.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the chance to read The wolf is mine by Paige Tyler. Although this is the 13th book in the SWAT series, I believe you can read it as a standalone (although why would you???) I have enjoyed this different take on werewolves since the first book, and the author has been branching out to include other supernatural beings. This book was highly anticipated as there was something different about the pack's mascot, Kat, the cat who sauntered in to SWAT's compound, and attached herself to Connor. This series has been fun to read, with lots of action, and sexy werewolves, and while this book had that, I found there was a bit more suspense and darkness than the earlier books. Totally recommend not only this book, but the entire series (as well as the author's companion series STAT. I can't wait for the next book!!!

I've been looking forward to reading Kat's story ever since she turned up in the series. We knew she wasn't just an ordinary cat that just happened to walk into Connors life, but we had to wait for her story until now.

Connor and his SWAT team have been looking for Kat since she disappeared in the last book, without any luck. He's disappointed and scared something bad has happened to her, but needs to put his focus on the lastest case they've got. Some teenagers have gone missing, just vanished out of their houses and nobody seems to know where they've gone. When they find out that two of his pack members who have gone to investigate a disappearance of another two teenagers, are missing too, he and a few of his pack set out to investigate. They stumble upon a magical sign and warn their pack about this before finding their two missing friends in a bad state but getting stuck in the room with them without any means to escape.

Meanwhile Kat the cat has changed into a human. It turns out she's a witch who had to watch a warlock kill her whole coven and has her under a binding spell to get all her and her coven members' powers and that turned her into a cat. Luckily before the spell was completed she was able to escape. Unfortunately she's a cat most part of the year with only about 10 days as a human. She returns to the pack's compound to seek help, only to find out Connor and his team mates have gone missing. When she recognises the magical sign, she's able to help free Connor and his packmates.

To say Connor is stunned and also hurt to find out Kat is in fact is his missing cat and that she never told him she was a witch, is put mildly. But of course they reconsile and get closer than ever. They both work together to find the missing kids and meanwhile try to find a way to free Kat from the spell. When it turns out that the missing teenagers case and Kat's binding spell are related, the hunt is on.

I loved every little bit about this book. The closeness of the pack members, how they all are so very close. I loved how, even though Connor was hurt at the beginning, he quickly realised that his feelings for Kat were stronger, he sensed that she was his 'One' and would do anything to protect her and free her of the spell. Kat was lovely too, willing to do anything to stand by Connors side and to help him.

The story was a nice mix of action packed scenes and so lovely, sweet romance along with some sexy scenes.

Highly recommended and I'm already looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series.

The Wolf is Mine is the 13th book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series. As with all of the other books, it doesn’t disappoint. Although Paige does a great job of providing a little bit of backstory, I just don’t think you could really enjoy this book without having read all of the other books in the series. Each one adds to supernatural lore in its own way and they continue to build this surprising fantasy world that still tries to have some basis in reality at least as it relates to love, family, and trust.

The Wolf is Mine focuses on SWAT Team member Connor Malone and Kat Davenport. Kat is unique in that she has been with Connor for several months as an actual cat. She is in fact a witch. The best part is that I had my suspicions all along that there was something very special about Kat. Imagine my excitement when she bursts on the scene as a human trying to find Connor. The chemistry between the two of them is explosive and can’t be denied. In typical Paige Tyler form, their love will be tested by a new group of supernatural beings with ties to Kat’s past. Witches, Warlocks, spells, and other things that can be hard to wrap your head around come front and center in the best way. There is a lot of action and some fun moments as the SWAT Team goes up against yet another new foe.

I really enjoyed The Wolf is Mine. It’s consistent with all of the other books as it relates to Love and being The One. There are plenty of fight scenes and someone definitely Wolfs Out. I could say so much more but you have to read it for yourself to really get the full effect of Paige’s very vivid imagination. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

The Wolf is Mine is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Kat is a witch spelled to be a cat for most of each year. Connor is a werewolf part of a swat team of werewolves who formed an instant bound with a cute little kitty cat. Teenagers are missing and Connor’s cat is too but he’s in for a shock when she shows up walking around on two legs. Kay’s magic comes to the rescue when the swat guys need help finding the missing kids and stopping evil magic users. A touch of instant love with a touch of fated mates gives the story a sweet and steamy HEA flavor with plenty of action to keep the story flowing for an easy to read, feel good paranormal romance. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.

I had some misgivings, but the fast-moving, nail-biting plot drew me in regardless.

Connor’s cat is missing and it’s messing with his head a bit while he is on a mission to rescue a teammate. In reality, Kat is a witch who was cursed four years ago and spends most of her time in the form of a cat. She had gone into hiding to go through a long and painful transformation and when she returns to the SWAT headquarters, she finds Connor is still gone. Kat goes to rescue him and his teammates and they are plunged into a frantic mission to stop the power-hungry warlock that had cursed Kat.

I always suspected there was more to Kat than just being a cat, but I never expected a witch. This adds another exciting supernatural element to the series that wasn’t there before. Kat has had to deal with so much pain and uncertainty, but none of that ever got her down. Connor is super sweet and protective, and he rapidly recovered from the shock of discovering his cat is a woman. They were wonderful together, even though their relationship started out a bit lopsided. Kat already knew a lot about Conner, whereas he had to catch up.

The confrontations with Marko and his coven were tense and increased in intensity with every new encounter. It culminated in a nerve-wracking climax that was over maybe a bit too soon. They bet everything on the hope that Kat would know what to do at the right time. I wasn’t quite convinced, especially considering that Kat hadn’t done a lot of magic in quite some time. She did have magic moments, which were impressive, but there was no progression in her abilities and also no indication that she was able to do great magic in the past. For me, there wasn’t enough to base all that hope on that she can vanquish Marko.

All that said, I enjoyed reading Connor and Kat’s story and having the witches introduced. I can recommend this entire series if you like super hot werewolves, a variety of other paranormals, and steamy romance.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Wolf is Mine is the thirteenth book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) series. This book is a paranormal, romantic suspense novel filled with danger, magic, fantastic characters, and great chemistry. All the books in this series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone, however, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the series itself.

Werewolf Connor Malone and his SWAT team are up against a powerful being even they might not be able to defeat when they are asked to investigate several cases of missing teenagers in Dallas. Powerful witch Katya Davenport, otherwise known as Kat, Conner’s tiny feline friend, offers to help when she realizes these cases are linked to the wizard that cursed her and stole most of her powers. But what happens when everyone realizes that Kat and her life in the hands of the wizard could actually lead to death and destruction? Will Connor and Kat get their happily ever after? Read it and find out!

Amazing! The chemistry between Connor and Kat was evident from the moment they saw each other face to face. They were fantastic together and supportive of what each other needed. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

In this high-stakes paranormal/romantic-suspense novel, Werewolf Connor Malone is in for a surprise when his cat, Kat, that went missing turns out to be more than what she seems.

Kat Davenport has been cursed. Now back in her witch form, she is eager to reconnect with Connor before turning back into a furry feline in just a short period of time. But Connor is not expecting Kat, the cat, to be Kat, the woman. It is a bit of a surprise, to say the least.

Meanwhile, Connor and his SWAT team are working on a murder case and get pulled into a kidnapping case as well. And Kat wants to help. As it turns out, the cases may have a connection to someone in Kat’s past.

What will happen to these fated mates, and will the SWAT team be able to save the kidnapping victims in time?

This one had me hooked. It’s a fun escape. There’s action, suspense, magic, shifters, humor, and heat. It was my first read from this series—this is book 13—and I definitely want to go back and read more.

Kat & Conner

Surprises galore. His missing furry friend isn't what he thinks. She's been with him since she followed (Snuck in their car) him home almost a year ago. Now he's on another mission and she can't be found. Turns out she can be found just not as the cat he's attached to. Yep, she's a real Kat. One who needs their help almost as much as they need hers to rescue two teammates.

They have to believe in magic at least a little as wolf-shifters. But a cursed witch? There is so much going on but I've only given away what the author released in the blurb. No more. I can tell you there is steamy chemistry, serious bad-guy magics, and danger that might be more than the team can handle. Still, we know they are gonna do their best.

It seems with each book the author gives us more surprises and more characters to love. An amazing book from an author who never fails to give the best.

Although Paige Tyler’s stories can easily be read as a standalone, I love the fact that characters from previous books keep popping up. This time it is Kat who makes a reappearance. You know: the cat who walked around with Tuffy, the SWAT mascott. Only, she is walking on two legs now… Kat is a witch, who is forced to live under a spell, which makes her a cat for most of the time. Only a few days per year, she becomes human.

And this time she wants to introduce herself (again) to Connor. In whose house she has been living for the last nine months. But Connor is not there.. he is out somewhere to investigate a strange disappearance of two of their teammates. When Kat realizes the one who put a spell on her is possibly behind the disappeances, she goes to Connor to help him. But will he trust in his cat?

As always: full of suspense, twists and turns. And of course sparks are flying everywhere! Thank you Page for another hunky SWAT story!

Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I like how the author has expanded the world of this series by adding in new elements and still keeping things in sync and making sense. After a dozen books, it enables to the series to stay fresh but no get lost from its core either. for several months, the swat's cat mascot, Kat, has been sabotaging the dates of Connor, her primary human on the team. She's confounded and confused the team members with some of her talents and personality quirks. Now the team gets to know why, as Kat is temporarily freed from the binding that has put her in feline form and they meet the human Kat - a powerful witch. Connor's worry and fuss over Kat the cat also changes as fated mates are fully face to face and fighting to stay together that way. but can canine & feline truly make a go of it, and will the enemy pursuing Kat and a case involving ritualistic murders and kidnaped teens allow it. There is plenty of action and romance as these two fight for their HEA.

The Wolf is Mine by Paige Tyler is the 13th book in the SWAT series. This book features SWAT team member Connor Malone and his cat...or his Kat. It turns out that the cat that adopted Connor in previous books is a cursed witch who is only allowed to be her human self for brief periods. When Connor goes missing after Kat transforms into a human, he gets in touch with the SWAT team because she feels that something is wrong.

The SWAT team is in way over their heads with their newest enemy who also is the nefarious warlock that cursed Kat. Kat needs to tap into all of her powers to be able to assist the SWAT team to defeat their nemesis. I loved the premise that Kat was able to initially become close to Connor as a cat. The book had excellent flow to it and was an engrossing read that went to fast. Paige Tyler also provides entertaining dialogue and some intense heat between the couple which enhances the story for the reader.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed Paige Tyler's X-Ops series or Kait Ballenger's Seven Range Shifters series.

I was provided an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review of the materials.

Kat has been a cat for much of the past year. She is able to be human for 7-14 days each year, after having had a spell cast over her four years earlier by a powerful mage. She becomes human just in time to help the Special Wolf Alpha Team and the Special Threat Assessment Team with a series of disappearances and murders that has them deeply concerned. Apparently, Kat’s currently limited ability to use magic is needed to help solve the mysterious disappearances. Connor has been feeding and housing Kat in her feline form, not knowing that she was also human. He’s upset with her when he discovers her dual nature, but it’s kind of silly since she had no way of communicating this info to him. Once he gets over his snit, they actually start to get along better. His teammates can see it happening, but Connor resists until he can’t anymore.

This is definitely an original premise for a book! It’s well-plotted and full of mystery and intrigue. The tension stays fairly stable until the end, when it jumps up even higher. The protagonists are likable (except for the snit part!) and the team dynamics are great! The dialogue seems natural and not forced. And the ending is well thought out as well as exciting. This is a fun read!

Kat is a witch, who four years ago was turned into a cat. A powerful warlock killed her coven and was in the process of making her his familiar. She is a cat eleven months out of the year and only human a couple of days out of the year. She escaped and was on the run when she arrives in Texas and comes upon the SWAT team. Connor is a wolf and works for SWAT. He was attached to Kat but didn’t know she was a human. When she goes missing for a couple of days, he begins to worry. While hunting for their teammates, who have been missing, Kat shows up in her human form. He is a little hurt that she didn’t let him know about her curse. Someone has been kidnapping teenagers and they are hard to beat. When Kat realizes it’s the warlock that put the spell on her, she doesn’t know if she should stay and fight or leave and protect Conner and his team.
Excellent story. Action. Witches. Wolves. And other things that go bump in the night. I really don’t know what to say. I can’t wait for the next book. I believe that’s when you know a series is good, when you finish one book and can’t wait for the next one.

I've been waiting, what feels like a long time, for this book. I knew there was something special about Kat and I loved how much Connor cared for his feline friend. When it turned out Kat wasn't feline but female I knew they were destined to be mates. The Wolf is Mine has all of the action you'd expect of a SWAT book and revisiting old characters is like being a guest at one of their traditional BBQs. Another fantastic addition to a great paranormal series!

LOVED this book!!! I've been looking forward to this book for awhile and it was worth the wait! This is Kat the cat's story and it is filled with all the romance, drama, and action you can expect from this author. I loved her story and found myself turning pages just as quickly as possible. I felt invested in Kat and Connor's story and wanted them to get their HEA ending.

If you enjoy paranormal romantic suspense, you will love this book. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel - however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. Once I discovered this author, I literally binge read her entire catalog - she's that good. Put her on your must read authors' list, she's at the top of mine.

The SWAT team are looking for pack members who have disappeared.  Werewolf Connor Malone is distracted by his pet cat that can't be found.

Witch Kat Davenport has a lot of explaining to do.  Her circumstances cause a few giggles and some fear.

This is a steamy paranormal romance with great characters. Its full of magical battles, powerful villains and frustrated heroes. We are thrown into the action on the first page and our protagonists hardly get time to breathe from then until the end.

This book is part of an on-going series,  but eack book can be read alone.  Don't be surprised if you find yourself shopping for more after you read one.  They are addictive.

Exciting reading.

I loved it.
