As with the first volume, I fully intended to savor this, reading a chapter or two at a time and making it last as long as possible. It was a good plan. Was. But you know what is said about best laid plans...
Yeah... it's like that. I ended up devouring this one too.
Nom nom nom.
Nights with a Cat 2 was a satisfying read. Very much so! Perhaps even more so than the first book. And yet... And yet... I am like a cat who has just completely cleaned their food bowl of every morsel. Yes, even those stubborn kernels of kibble around the edges. And yes, even those hidden ones that have fallen onto the floor and were hiding under the rim of said bowl. I am no longer hungry by any means and am, in fact, purring with satisfaction of a full (book) belly. But I still want more.
Unfortunately, this time there is no next volume for me to scoop up upon finishing the previous. And, as far as Goodreads can tell me, no third volume is even in the works. And therein is the rub. The harsh reality I am trying to come to terms with.
A bittersweet ending to this experience, but I give the book Five Stars nonetheless.
