Strange events--stranger than usual--begin to happen around town, odd accidents and frightening encounters. The chief of police comes to Conjure Ink to ask us to investigate. As we delve deeper into what's going on, we find evidence that Moonshadow Bay is being visited by the infamous Mothman. And worse than that, he seems to have targeted my best friend Ari. Can we stop him before something terrible happens, and before Ari ends up dead?

This new Moonshadow Bay story is all sorts of a amazing, from looking for what caused the mysterious happenings to everything that happened to the town and its residents, interspersed with wonderful January moments (dang, I love how Rebecca the Imp became an important secondary character!), only to start over with the truth known and the search to find and stop them. To an ending as finite as one in the series can be, but as bizarre as the whole situation has been.
In other words: it was brilliant from start to finish and I am looking much forward to the next one!
Welcome back to Moon Shadow Bay… January and crew are swarmed with disaster. Busted pipes, car and ferry wrecks. Everything is in turmoil!
Something maligned has come to town and it’s not safe to be out at dark on your own. Even the Mystic Wood is on edge.
But when as the dust settles, exciting things are happening for January. Just remember wit the sweet comes the sour. The past holds a lingering shadow…
I thoroughly enjoyed this new book in the series. January is who I aspire to be when I grow up. She is quickly growing not only into her power but also into her own. I enjoy immersing myself in the world of Moon Shadow Bay and the lives of January and the gang!
As one of my favorite authors, I will always read her works, and as much as I love moonshadow bay, this one was a little harder for me to stay in, I normally am through these books in a day or two. But while I enjoyed this story, it did drag on a little. I'm not disappointed, but I wish there were more under the storyline.
January keeps saying how she wants to find herself after a long and terrible marriage to a worthless human. She says through several books how she'll live a long time .. and then gets engaged to her wolf shifter/lover after knowing him for about 2 years. Which everyone saw coming. It just seemed rushed. Also, anyone could tell she was engaged when she moved her ring from her right hand to her left. She works for an investigating agency.. it's not just a cat shifter that would notice.
As for why January decided to get married so soon? Maybe it was due to the family curse? Maybe that's why she changed her mind? Dunno.
What threw me off: January says something about that's what hope and love do. I get it, romance.. just.. :(
Then there's the mention of Blue Diamonds? Of all the stones/gemstones out there? Why chose this? She was drawn to it.. description of water.. okay.. sure. :/
Then there's the amount/cost they're just willing to throw out for rings.
Shifter beau: Go ahead and get whatever you want. Have up to X amount for the rings. Here sister, have X amount for a down payment on a house.
Moonshadow Bay, Magic Happens, and Whisper Hollow series' have a lot in common. W.H. is mentioned mentioned a few times in the Moonshadow Bay books..
Meaning.. the three series will probably be tied together somehow. Or maybe there will be a cross over series or just a book tying them together?
Whisper Hallow was originally published in 2015 =a re-reading will probably be required to remember all the details that will probably be important later.
I feel bad for leaving such few stars, this book just didn't make me want to pick it up again right away. Sorry.

Another great read in this series. January Jaxson is a great character and one of my faves from this author. She's a powerful witch, but not yet as powerful as she is going to be once she learns more about both sides of her magic.
In this one, a creature from an urban myth makes an appearance in Moonshadow Bay - a strange, scary creature, so frightening that even those in the Mythic Woods fear its presence. When people starts experiencing accidents, blackouts, amnesia and other terrible tragedies hit the town as well, January and her co-workers at Conjure Ink set about trying to find out everything they can about it and what they can do to stop it or just to stop the tragedies from being so terrible.
As well as all this going on, January has a few more family secrets revealed and now she has this to deal with as well, but that can wait for another day! But there is a great happy moment as well to look forward to - it's not all doom and gloom!
A fun, quick read with great characters and a great plot even though the mystery of the creature itself was left as unresolved. Hopefully we won't see that one again!
For January Jaxson, being a witch is natural and explains a lot. When she moves back to Moonshadow Bay after the death of her parents and marriage, life goes from zero to sixty. When Rebecca, the Mystic Woods imp warns January of , " a dangerous, ancient, and deadly entity that bears ill tidings," January is warned against being alone in the darkness. Best friend Ari disappears, and is found with amnesia and strange marks on her. What is doing this? And what's this about a family curse? An absolute must read. Ms. Galenorn hits it out of the park with this literary gem! I truly love everything she writes, and this series is no different!
Just like Moon shadow Bay, Yasmine draws you in with characters so real you feel like you know them personally. This book was no exception. She weaves urban legend and paranormal fiction into a tale that grabs your attention and has you looking over your shoulder at sounds in the night. January is a woman you can't help falling for. Rebuilding her life after a nasty divorce, she proves that life is just starting to get interesting & you're never to old to build the life you deserve. If you're looking for a heroine over forty, who takes on whatever is thrown at her and also inspires you, this series is what you' be been searching for.
In Crystal Web, something is amiss in Moonshadow Bay and in the Mystic Woods. January is unsure of how bad the situation is until, her BFF Ari goes missing. With the help of Conjure Ink and Killian, will Ari get the answers she seeks or will January be the next target of the Mothman.
Adding the Mothman is a brilliant way to up the writing game. Crystal Web is executed perfectly. These characters and Moonshadow Bay keep growing in the most creative and magical way.
I'm still gobsmacked by Crystal Web in the best way possible. Bravo!!!!
What a fantastic read. This book hooked me and took me away to a whole other world in which magic and the paranormal are normal. It moves along at a great pace, has amazing characters that you will love and you feel like you know them and a story that does not disappoint and keeps you reading till the end. Then you need more. This is a book that needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it.
Like all the book series written under the Yasmine Galenorn name, this series has not disappointed in any of the 7 previous books. This book is fantastic in so many ways, from the handling of a well known legend the continued revel of January's family history and the absolutely unexpected and tantalizing development in Killian and January's relationship. I recommend
Loved this! I’ve always been kind of fascinated by the Mothman and things of that ilk. So this book was right up my alley. January also discovers some info about her own family that throws her. So her plate is full in this book. It’s well written and draws you in immediately. And the action just keeps coming. The conclusion is a little bit sudden to me but doesn’t detract from the story I think.
I love how confident January is and her love story with Killian is important but so is her life, her friends, and her job, and that he is so supportive of all of it.
Scary things are happening and it grt personal in this story. Danger like no other has come to town & apparently this isn't the first time. Sometimes you have to acknowledge that things are out of your control & you can't fix it.
Just finished reading this book and wow! Yasmine Galenorn writes an excellent book but she has done so much better with this one. Intriguing and worthy of a read.
When an alien being comes to Moonshadow Bay, January researches it and discovers that it's been there before. It leaves a mark on everything it touches.
