A forty-something Werewolf supermodel, five supernaturally screwed up bridesmaids, and a demonic mother of the groom determined to ruin the wedding.
Awesome ... not.
How has my life come to this? Not sure who I screwed over in a past life to end up with a heinous mother-in-law who thinks my wedding is for her. If I didn't love Chance more than myself--which is a lot--I'd rethink the entire hot mess.
Problem--I've been instructed to show up in Hell on my wedding day with six bridesmaids. I have exactly two friends in total. The punishment for failure? Electrocution--which would suck.
Problem Solve--Go to a supernatural plasticware party at the community center and blackmail a few gals into being bridesmaids.
New Problem--The gals I coerced bring their own brand of crazy to the party.
Whatever. Chance is the Demon of my dreams. He loves me fur and all. One night of Hell for a lifetime of happiness is a good trade. I hope ...
Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses. A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable. Short and sweet. I'm not sure if this is a full novel or a novella. But I finished it in an hour so... you have a wearwolf bride, marring the king of hell's son and the ultimate monster mother-in-law. This was fun, funny and a very quick read.
I started this series last year, and immediately fell in love with it. The humor is some of the best I’ve read in any books. While reading I found myself wishing I could write characters as funny as the ones in this series. This final book of the series doesn’t actually fit into the storyline of the series at all. Instead this final book is a book within a book. Throughout the first three books one character wished to be a writer and, during the timeline, wrote her first book. This is that book.
Robyn Peterman writes with amazing humor and her characters have so much life you wish they were your friends. I’m sad to say goodbye to this series…for now. I’m sure a re-read is in my future.
"My Big Fat Hairy Wedding" by Robyn Peterman is a short Novella. Considered fourth in the "My So-Called Mystical Midlife" series. It is the Novella that Nancy wrote in book three of the series, so it is a bonus story). Being a werewolf is hard for the supermodel, Swoozie, especially when it is close to a full moon and it is her wedding. Marrying a demon, Chance, whose future mother in law is all over her about how her wedding should be. Swoozie just wants something simple and easy but keeps getting told what she needs to do. It is a cute little read with a lot happening. It was nice reading the Novella that they talked about in the other book. The humor in these books is what has me hooked on reading Robyn Peterman.
I put this one down to focus on other things and I picked it up again today and finished in a day. A very cute quick read. I’ve never read a Robyn Peterman book I haven’t liked. She’s quirky and easy to love.
I wasn't going to bother with audible because of the length of the book. So so glad I did. You cannot go wrong with this author or narrator. She really brings the characters to life. You really should read or better yet listen to the series first all the My So-Called Mystical Midlife, before this book. Robyn never disappoints me. I'm one of her all in readers. I have read everything out there or listened to it. My preferred way of reading these days. I feel more like I'm actually in the book with the voices. And this author is such a great writer always has me laughing my husband is now a fan of hers. He is hard to please with what I can listen to at night when he is trying to sleep I know headphones I don't do those. But he will let me play any of her books now. It's great. So if you haven't listened to or read any of Robyn's books trust me your MISSING OUT!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! So many fabulous characters. This is the story of a "well-seasoned" heroine with a gift for hijinks and hilarity. I stayed up all night because I just couldn't stand not to read the next page. Robyn Peterman is the queen of panache with a wicked wicked sense of humor. This story has so many types of brilliantly clever paranormals, you'll wonder at the creative genius who pulled them out from under her hat. This story has fascinating characters, crazy subplots, the snarkiest bridesmaids ever, an evil mother-in-law (who'd-a thought?), demons, humans, and all funny, unique, and unputdownable. Don't miss out!
This story is as mad as a bag of frogs 🙃😝 it's crazy and hilarious and totally insane. There is only one thing I don't get: this is book 4 of a series that, so far, was all about the same magical characters and I thought we got to see the main characters wedding here. Instead, we get a completely different story with a completely different set of characters, AND non of the previous books ' characters feature here. It makes no sense, why not just start a new series of release it as a stand alone????? 😵 so, -1⭐ because I didn't get to see the previous couple wedding 😿 Narration was excellent as always. Free on KU and plus catalogue audible too.
Another adorably twisted read from The amazingly entertaining mind of R.P. With the help of Nancy these characters come to life and it’s a fun story to read. The characters are always slightly violent, sometimes foul mouthed and like to take the bull by the horns approach to all things in their lives. This paranormal story is a match made in hairy hell and brings all the giggles. I absolutely adore her writing and always enjoy my escape from reality while I live in this writers fun worlds.
I loved this story about an aging model who is a werewolf shifter about to marry a demon. I was laughing so hard my sides were hurting. I liked all the different magical creatures in this story. The banter between Swoozie and Chance was cute. The Tupperware people were the best. I had hoped that Robyn would make this story into a new series but I am just glad it's out there. I adore her writing and everything she comes up with. The ending was a perfect conclusion. Any PWF'er will love this short and sweet story.
This story and these characters were so good that I want Robyn- er, I mean Nancy - to write more! There's so much potential in this group of friends. There are a few types of supernatural beings in this story that aren't written about much, so they should get more of the limelight. Lots of ground to cover! Someone get Aunt Flip to bake some more "flower" brownies and give them all to Nancy so her hot-flash-sweat won't short out her computer while she writes the next book!
This is an entertaining paranormal women’s fiction novella. Define cast of characters in an entertaining storyline. This novella is a spinoff from the first couple of books in this series. You can read it as a standalone but you really need to go back and read the others do you know where it’s coming from. A werewolf supermodel and her demon fiancé and a whole cast of oddball characters and fun antics. Get to reading and check it out.
Swoozie and Chance are getting married – but only if they can out smart Chance’s mom. Chance’s mom is determined that Swoozie is not good enough for Chance and will do just about anything to stop the wedding. She has taken over the arrangements and insists that Swoozie will need 6 bride’s maids – which would be fine but Swoozie only has 2 supernatural friends that she can ask! Enjoyed watching Swoozie come up with an idea on how to meet new people and get them in her wedding. Love the new characters! Fun story!
What a read...and a ride! From witches, to werewolfs, to wizards, to vampires...this book has it all. To top it all off the wonderful heroines are all aged to perfection! If I had to pick just one...Robyn Peterman's My Big Fat Hairy Wedding was fabulous! The horrible mother-in-law from literal Hell is planning "my" perfect wedding. There is a group of fabulous new friends that take the challenge head on and come out beautiful as always!
I'm so glad that other fans demanded to read the novella that (fictional character) Nancy had written in the My So-Called Mystical Midlife series. The book is laugh out loud funny. It's also ridiculous, in the best kind of way. If you need an upbeat escape from the real world (or just want to read a funny book), I highly recommend this one. It doesn't even matter if you didn't read the other books in the series, this one can stand alone.
Even Robyn Peterman’s characters write hilarious books.
It seems Nancy takes after her creator quite a bit in that her book was hilarious, heart warming and full of some slight deranged and in some cases slightly gross characters. 😂😂
When I read Satan was a klepto I busted out laughing. I loved the small homage to Robyn’s Hot Damned series.
This was an ok read. Not as good as other books by Peterman. Also, it has nothing to do with the previous 3 books in this series. Totally unrelated. I thought the wedding would be that off Clementine and Seth. Nope. That’s alright, I suppose, because Clem and Seth’s story was already wrapped up within the third book.
Lots of laughs. But also lots of off color statements and off color language. Even with that the story line is funny, a werewolf supermodel , a demon husband, an overbearing demon mother-in-law, a mermaid, elf, witch, vampire, an Italian from New Jersey, genie. Who could ask for better friends to watch your back? Great job. Thank you for making me blush and lol.
A quick peak at the wedding made in Hell, literally. Nancy has come into her own and really leaves it all out there in her first novel (ok, she has a lot of help from Robyn) but seriously, Nancy's "humor" shines through out the book, give it a whirl, you might find yourself giggling from cover to cover.
It's a good time filler. Some funny parts that reminded me of my middle school days. Not what I was expecting coming from Mrs. Peterman... I've been reading her books since early 2000s. It's a book I would allow my 8 & 12 years old granddaughters to read...fun and creative!
A novella that will make you laugh and laugh again, and fall for amazing characters. Fun, hilarious, caring, full of friendship and of a mother-in-law out of your worst nightmares. A great read!
Hilarious and quirky! Great new characters and the zany antics that are her trademark. No one can write a Satan character quite like Robyn Peterman. The trip to hell is insane. The mother in law gave me a new appreciation for mine. I loved this one!
I originally read My Big Fat Hairy Wedding when it was in the Aged to Perfection anthology. This is yet another original and hilarious story by Robyn Peterman! I haven't met a book of hers that I don't love!
Robyn Peterman always delivers a fun romp, with foul mouthed, lovable characters with hearts of gold and a proclivity for acts of (sometimes juvenile) violence. This book hits all those buttons! I will never think of a Tupperware party the same, again!
It's a hoot. Paranormals with problems find friendship and come out on the other side with best buds for life and bullies taken down more than a peg or three. Robyn Peterman writes an excellent, entertaining story.
This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.
Swoozie and Bellamadonna. A pretty amazing couple of best friends. And more and more joined them, and what a wedding! Definitely one for the ages. Definitely fun, and not following a cookie-cutter plot, that's fur sure.
Absolutely brilliant!!! I am still laughing. 😂. I really hope hanging out with these guys again is possible. Such a funny and fabulous bunch of characters. Thanks Nancy 😉
I was laughing my butt off for the entire story.Swoozie yes you read that correctly is a heroine after my own heart. Chance is the sweetest groom. Will I re-read? Yes. Do I recommend? Absolutely
Peterman does it again. Her characters are great, her stories are hysterical, and the writing is first rate. I read it straight through in one sitting, laughing throughout. Midlife has never been more relatable or ridiculous. Love!!
