Two years after the fallout, life for Katrina should have been okay. The Resistance was winning. The world was rebuilding itself. But happily ever after isn't how life really works. When the New Government's sinister plan thrusts Katrina back into the middle of the chaos, she'll lose more than she ever thought possible and will have to fight harder than she ever has before. And that's only the beginning... Project Retribution, book four in the Project Dandelion series, takes place years after Katrina and her friends fled to the mountains for safety. Forced to confront the horrors of the past, the strength of this hardheaded female lead character is tested in unimaginable ways. Will she be able to save the world? Or will they break her first?
I enjoyed this series as a whole, it was pretty entertaining, especially if you like a good dystopian. This was only supposed to be a trilogy but apparently, since fans wanted more of their beloved characters, and this world - it seems the author delivered. In some ways I’m glad she did because I wasn’t ready for it to end either.
While I liked most of this book, something to me personally happened around the half way mark. It felt super rushed and all over the place. I was literally asking myself “What is happening?!” While offering some closure, I personally didn’t like how it literally just ended.. so abruptly! I was expecting so much more. Like what happened to Dreya, Piper, Mia? Would an epilogue been too much to ask for?? Sigh … Still a good series just kinda bummed that I didn’t get a complete happier ending.
What a way to end such a great series. For any dystopian themed book lovers, this is a must read series. While I was ok with how the third book ended, many fans asked and begged for another book. Her characters are so relatable and are very easy to grow attached to. Now even more so, which makes this last book bittersweet. The characters have grown so much since book one and it was so much fun to follow them on this journey. Highly recommend the series.
I loved the original trilogy of this dystopian series, so was very happy when I seen there was a forth one. This story picks up 2 years after the events at the end of the third book. Such a great continuation and was great to go on another journey with these characters and see how they have grown and changed along the way. I would highly recommend this whole series
Good final book in general for the series, but it was way too rushed, especially the ending. I wouldn’t have minded a longer book if it meant the ending was better explained. I know its the final book, but after the ending I can’t help but feel like there will be another one. So many aspects of the book didn’t receive closure. There were important reunions missing. And we all wanted to read about a certain wedding in an epilogue which never came. Maybe I say this out of hope that it’s not the end for the series. I definitely need more closure!!!
So.good it took 20 hrs go read whole series, wish I'd read much sooner
Around 4am I was once again trying to get through a game of thrones. This was my 4th try reading it, one of which was the Audible version. Think Monty python and the holy trail except with 30+ characters you've never heard of in the first few pages. Couldn't do it. Now I've seen the show and the book was a much easier read but after hrs of trying to needed something liter to help my insomnia. Don't get me wrong, I was a bit late to it but I do love a game of thrones and house of dragon,or whatever they called it. Great shows. Will read books soon and plan to enjoy. Last night I needed something that was a little more relatable, some fun and I usually love creatures but figured the apocalypse thing would fill in more my creatures. I've had this book,I am actually reviewing the series as I don't have the patience to wait before starting book 2 if I like the series. So here we are. Will try to copy it to the other three of I don't ruin anything.I honestly couldn't remember why I had some war book on my kindle unlimited list but decided worst case was id fall asleep. Nope. I read them all. I like books that are different, not the same or copies like they came from a mold. This book reminded me of a few books I've liked but was different. I liked the characters. I loved hoe the authors spent the time having us get to k kW how Katrina and her dad plus several others think. I like how we got to watch as the kids formed opinions about other people they met too. I would have given this another star except for two reasons and ill get there in a second. The world building was done well, thorough and characters reappear. I felt I knew these kids and to a lesser degree the adults they come across. This series was vert well written and II truly enjoyed jt. Never heard of this author and that is how I find my favorites. Some of those indie authors no-one had ever heard of in 2014-2017 now have multiple best sellers. Seriously. I did arc and beta reading for them a long time ago and now they are famous. I get Xmas cards to. At least two became best friend years after j was reading both authors books and doing arc reading for each and later they met somewhere and became friends. Happened to a few but those are close. So I apologize for waiting to review as I know it helps. I don't want to give away too much but these books are definitely worth the read. They are YA books and I am 42. Still loved them. But that does get to the few things I didn't give perfect stars for. The first is honestly prob because of them being YA. They were too short. Each book alone too simple. The world, characters, plot all of it was great but as it is a YA book, that's prob why they seemed to be missing something at the end of the book and that was more book. There were a couple of things I didn't understand, esp in the last book.don't want to ask these questions as ill give away stuff but its stuff my curious, cynical mind couldn't figure out. An example is like the group think mentality in book 1, real life studies done on that in Stanford and it got so bad they stopped it early. I have a psych degree so I got that easily but to kids and others without the knowledge I have, it is explained several times well what is happening. I like that. But in book 4, why do the people in the last group act the way they do?is it the fires, rain, going mad, boredom or just how they happen to act as as is obviously not as it seems and most are dealing with heartache and loss. The whole world is of course but these are teenagers with added stresses so who knows. I'd also like to know where the cargo was being taken at the end and what the purpose was. I bet there was a good explanation, I can think of a few ideas but it never says. Also,James was always cagey about his past, once the big secret was shared, he still seemed that way to me but no-one seemed to care. I'm sure daddy ran a background check and all or maybe he talked more to Katrina but I felt he was still.holding back a lot. But I am naturally not trusting of characters or people and watching for betrayal in books beforehand. So prob dealt witb. Plus againYA book.I really liked this series, recommend it and plan to read the other one next on the list now. These are just things for the author not reader that I didn't feel.were explained. That my perrsonl.option too. I still loved the books and I'm glad I found them. I jjst like to explain why I didn't give something I loved all of the stars in case it helps in some way. If not, ignore it please. I still think people who love all diff genres of.books and people of all.ages will like this series.probably need to the at least 10 or older though. I read weird stuff as kid so preferably older really. But I will be reading more of these, thank you for the new work you put in for our entertainment. I truly appreciate it and enjoyed it. Sorry, it is hard to.type.on my Kindle, it hates to correct my typos. So I also apologize for typos in my review. Wish I'd read
I absolutely adored this book. It was exactly what I wanted in a fourth book about Project Dandelion. Had me a little worried about the rescue right up till the end.
While this is an excellent place to end Katrina's story it also leaves the world open for more. What happened with the other Dandelion kids? Did other countries fight back? How will Piper and Aurora grow up? All perfectly good questions to answer if Heather decides to return to this world again.
What a great addition to the series! It was wonderful to continue the storyline of the main character and to see where life had begun to take them. Heather did a fabulous job of moving the timeline along while not losing details along the way. While I would love to see another book in the series this one does a great job of also wrapping it up. I look forward to seeing what Heather releases next!
Two years from when we last saw Katrina and the gang have passed by. No longer in the mountains but training hard to go back into the Dandelion mission. It was great to catch up and see how the characters have matured. We got some questions answered and I was very happy to get another book in this series. The addition of new characters have piqued my interest. It’s a great addition to the dystopian series.
I don’t think I have cried this hard in A LONG TIME! And I loved every minute of it! I loved this for our heroes. I would have loved to have more closure with the lovers involved but it was so good!!
