Unscripted Duet #2

Life Unscripted

Rate this book
The conclusion to Love Unscripted.

In one night, my life became unscripted.

What I thought I knew, what I thought I deserved, what I thought life had planned for me was all thrown out the window.

I thought I knew love, what it meant to love another person so strongly that love consumed me. Fate had other ideas, and that night changed everything.

Thrown into the unknown, I learned who I could count on. What I didn’t account for was her and the unconventional relationship we started to build.

I’m struggling to deal with the loss, but it’s not just about me anymore—she needs me more than ever.

How do I rewrite this new future so I don’t let her down?

Oh, what a ride! We pick up right where Love Unscripted left off and are immediately swept into Luke’s, Emmy’s, and Renee’s journeys to healing and the good life. I really don’t want to spoil this one, so I’m going to be vague with my loves. I love the slow burn that doesn’t feel slow or artificial or wrong at all. I love the healing and grieving, and even the skips and near misses to Luke’s and Renee’s perfect life. I love Emmy’s POV because she helped to keep both Luke and Renee grounded when they desperately needed it. Overall, this book makes the pain and angst and heartache so worth the ride because Luke, Renee, Emmy, and the entire family get their piece of a beautiful love and life. This author definitely went above and beyond with her ability to weave a painfully beautiful tale that shatters your heart while making good on the promise to piece it all back together, even better than it was before the break.

Laughter. Family. Devotion. Overcoming grief. These are all things I think about when I think of this amazingly sweet, gut wrenching book. This book made such an impact on me when I was reading it. I absolutely loved it so much!!

Luke’s story was what I was wanting since I ended the first one. Omg. The author has me hook, line and sinker. The words and situations were so hard to read, but were realistic. She took you on a journey of grief that was beautiful and devastating all at the same time.

The theme of family was what made me fall in deeper love with this book. The way the family supported and loved each other no matter what was amazing. I am seriously in awe of how this author has made this amazing novel. Her words drug you and make you a victim of her writing. 5 stars plus so much more if it were possible.

This family has been through so much. They have leaned on each other and helped each other every step of the way. Luke’s story ends tragically and picks up right where the previous book left off. This story weaves friends and family closer together for support and love that they didn’t expect. There are surprises, love, emotions, grief and so many feelings in this book.

I especially loved how the secondary characters played such an amazing part in this story. They helped this journey of grief and love happen at a much sweeter, faster pace. I need these babies and people in my life. Buy it and read it to continue this story today!!

This should be a one-click for you. Go buy it!

Life Unscripted is the conclusion in the Unscripted Duet, so YOU MUST READ Love Unscripted (Book 1) FIRST! It picked right up where Book 1 left off, and Taylor Delong took us on an intense emotional journey. Luke's life will never be the same, and what he was going through had the pain seeping through my kindle until I took it on for myself. And what made it more intense, was the multiple POVs throughout. Renee came on the scene because of what Luke was going through, and she was just what the doctor ordered. She had Luke's back, and her calming spirit helped healed him. Their story wasn't a quick one, nope, it was a slow burn, but you'll understand once you read the story. The cast of secondaries made up of Luke & Emmy's family, added so much more depth, and at times, a whole lot of humor. They're such a loyal group that I don't want to be done with this beautiful family. Ms. Delong put together a story of such realistic heartbreak, and through time, a healing, that by the time the story was over, i didn't know weather to laugh or cry at the beauty of healing after such a big tragedy. So, I very much suggest everyone one click on this story immediately that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Life Unscripted #2 picks right up where #1 left off. Thank goodness!! From page one, I was hooked to hear Luke's side of the story. Since Delong's first book, I have fallen in love with the Tanners. The family ties that hold them together are like no other. With each page, you go deeper and deeper into Luke's life and learn more and more of how he ticks. Things may have turned out differently than he had planned. Life was definitely unscripted for Luke and his family, but they wouldn't have it any other way. Follow Luke and Emmy (and a few new characters) on this roller coaster of a read. Just when you think things have finally settled down in their lives, Delong throws a curveball into their story. There is a lot to be said about following characters throughout different books, but Delong does it so well. I feel like I know the Tanners inside and out. As a reader, I wish I could meet them or be a part of their amazing family. Join Luke, Renee, Emmy & the gang on a journey of love, trust, and overcoming life and death situations. Life Unscripted #2 will not disappoint. I'll be impatiently waiting for Avery's story!

Thank god for conclusions to duets! ;)
Taylor Delong did not disappoint with this incredibly emotional roller coaster ride of a journey. Once again, the whole Tanner clan comes together to support one another. This tale of unconventional love was completely unexpected in the most wonderful way. I hope this is not the end of this family. I truly felt a part of this story and was sad to see it end!

What a whirlwind of emotions!!!! An excellent sequel that stands up to the storyline and emotional roller coaster of the first. I couldn’t put the book down, wanting to learn more about Luke and how his relationships continued to develop. My emotional connection to him and the people in his life grew stronger with each chapter. This one definitely had me crying both sad and happy tears. Taylor Delong has become one of my favorite authors and I am impatiently waiting for another story!!!

What an emotional rollercoaster ride.....in the absolute best way possible. This was the perfect conclusion to the duet. There were so many emotional moments in this story and so many more feelings in between. It was a perfect love story in every way. I couldn't stop reading at all and wanted to read quicker but not at the same time. I hope that we get more from this family in the future.

Wow, what an emotional roller coaster of a ride!! I love this family so hard and this was the perfect ending to the duet. I feel like I’ve become a member of the Tanner family and felt every single emotion right along with all the characters. I hope this isn’t the end of this cast of characters.

I loved this book so much. Sometimes the life you envisioned for yourself doesn’t go as planned but sometimes that can lead to a life better than you could ever imagine. It reminds me of a Marilyn Monroe quote “sometimes things fall apart so better things can fall together”.
What if you met the right person at the wrong time....they were dealing with a lot of things such as a recent divorce, a death, loss of a job,etc....would you stand by them and support them at their weakest point or would you move on? So many thoughts reading this book. True love will always find a way. Great duet Taylor Delong!

A wonderful way to finish off the duet. There were a lot of surprises and plot twists, but not angsty. This book could have taken a much different turn, but I think the author handled it splendidly. Luke is on my list of favorite BBFs. I’m so glad he reached his HEA. Life doesn’t always work the way we think or want it to. Sometimes it works out better than you ever thought it could be. HEAs look different every time with each couple. Tanner captured my heart again in this one. She is one of my favorite kid characters ever. This family has such a huge capacity to love and was wonderful to read about. I definitely recommend this duet.

When I finished reading “Love Unscripted,” I had several predictions:

1. Tanner would be okay;
2. Lainie died in the accident;
3. Emmy gives birth (Duh, a given since she was having a tiny humanness not an elephant); and
4. Luke would be devastated and Emmy and Junior would end up with the baby.

My last prediction was wrong! I should have known that Luke would get his HEA because no one deserves that more than him. While death brings sadness and devastation, it also brought happiness and new beginnings. It is true that you don’t go looking for love; it finds you when you least expect it.

I love how family is an important part of the Tanners’ lives. It reminds me of my own family and the close relationships I have with my cousins. That bond continues with the next generation. Sometimes we plan things out with exact precision and other times it’s jungle rules. But above all we subscribe to Luke’s parting words: Life unscripted: the only way to live.

This can't be read as a standalone this takes place right were the first book left off and again WOW . I felt this story to my bones it stuck with me through the very end and even when I got the the end it still was a part of me . I don't want to give to much away it's one of those stories that you need to experience and just feel . I'm excited to read more books by Taylor Delong in the future .

This is book 2 of the Unexpected Duet and it begins where book 1 ends with a horrible tragedy that sends Luke's life into turmoil. Luke has the help and support of his family and Renee, a nurse who is an old friend of his brother Carter who happens to be with him when he gets the tragic news. Renee helps Luke with his struggle. They have an unconventional relationship. Luke as he heals realizes Renee needs his support as well. It is a beautiful emotional slow-burn romance, with all the amazing characters from book 1. The author just blew me away with this amazing and complex story. I love this author's work and highly recommend both of the Unexpected Duet books.

This is Luke's story and we start right where book one left off in the hospital on the worst night of his life . When his wife dies Luke's life is thrown into turmoil . His daughter will be born soon and he is left grieving for the life he lost with Lanie and he is scared of the future with his daughter . With the help of his family and the nurse and friend Renee he might have a chance at the life that will be great .
Emmy ,Luke and the gang are back . I must say that they are better written and more complex in this book . Luke is thrown for a loop and must rely on the family to help him through. He really grows in this story and we see him come to terms with everything that has happened . There is a new character that helps him through . Renee is the nurse that comes into his life when he needs a friend . She has known the family for ever . They really do click when they are together.
The theme of this book is family and what they would do in a crisis . The author really puts them through the wringer in this book . The twists and turns are great and you really get to see how this family comes together when they are needed . Trust me there are time in this book that you will want to wrap Luke up in a blanket and tell him every thing will be ok . There is only one thing that stopped me from giving it 5 stars , I felt it dragged a little in spots . Over all I really enjoyed this book and was so happy how things worked out . This series would be a great read for a fall evening .

All it took was one night to turn Luke Turner's life upside down.
After working for so long with fertility issues Luke and Lainie were finally going to get the one thing they dreamed of. For Luke he thought he had his life all planned out, until tragedy takes from him the woman he always saw himself with for the rest of his life.
But life doesn't just get put on hold for Luke to grieve. He must be strong for the daughter that him and Lainie worked so hard to get. With the Tanner behind Luke they'll help him the best they can, but what really helps Luke to heal and move along with life is the patience and understanding of a new friend who was there in his darkest hour.

I absolutely loved the first book in the duet (Love Unscripted). However, Life Unscripted really touched on issues that more couple suffer from, but suffer in silence. Infertility is something that really hits home with me because it took years and lots of medical intervention to have the beautiful children I do have. Losing a loved one is also not an easy feat to overcome. No matter the support a person may have and the millions a reason a person may have to be strong, grief isn't something that is done on a timetable.

If your reading this then you know what has gone on so far with the Tanner/Abbott families (If not , read book one NOW ) but be prepared for the loss of a loved one, the joy of a new arrival , the terror of not being in control of the life of someone you love, and the excitement of new love. We already know how each Lanie and Luke feel about the birth of their baby. But we also learn more about the actions of those around them when tragedy strikes and those who end up helping those we need it. Plans will be changed, families will change but there will always love, compassion, and trust. You the reader will be on a roller coaster ride of emotion, highs and lows , twists and turns , but hang on because it is all worth it. Crying and laughing will be along on your ride, so be prepared with the Kleenex. You'll need it . It was truly a pleasure to read this book and give this review, I just wish it had more then 5 stars as it top rating. But I'm giving it 10 stars, it deserves it.

The conclusion to book one takes us on Luke's new journey in life. I thought this book would make me upset with it's subject matter, but I couldn't put this book down. Taylor has a way with her words that even though you know the subject matter is going to be heartbreaking, you have a level of trust with her that not many authors can give you. The first book left me a speechless emotionally mess, I was scared to pick up book two but I needed the answers she didn't give me in the first book. I took a giant deep breath before beginning and the more I read, the more her words relaxed me. yes you will cry, yes you will want to put the book down a time or two, but you won't wait more than a few seconds to pick it back up again to continuing reading. The Uscripted Duet are the only books I've read so far of Taylor's, but I'm going to start reading the others shortly, she just captures real life in such away that I need more of her words!

Wonderful Read

This book was an amazing conclusion for this duet. I loved all of the characters and their support for each other. I loved the laughs, the tears, the joy, the sorrow. But most of all, I enjoyed every ounce of love you felt between everyone. I think it would be positively AWESOME if everyone in the world got to experience this type of bond in their own families, and also their friends' families. Once again, this author took my breath away with her work.

So glad my wait was a short one...

Waiting any longer for the second book of this duet would had drove me crazy.
Taylor Delong knows how to write a book about family. The ups the downs and all the in betweens.
Luke so deserved his happy ending and I won’t ruin it for you - just let me say he gets it 3-fold.
Please don’t hesitate to pick this duet up! Hey - it’s on KU, too!!

Despite hardship still healthy support can heal.

No good comes from drowning in the past. Finding new purpose and drive is healing. Through the toughest times solid family ties can help. Sometimes something completely unexpected.
