I totally experience this in an opposite way Hugo did because I totally didn’t get their connection. I wanted more backstory and depth to justify why they were attracted to each other. I mean, it’s childhood friends to lovers after all. A lot of people say this was cute, but I didn’t feel it at all. There were some cute moments even with the flashbacks, I still think they were meh. Until they established their love, I started to feel things between them and get to feel the cuteness, but of course by then it’s finished :/
This one's too good 😳🥰☺ Dude I was crying and smiling the whole time I'm pretty sure if someone saw me while reading this book they would contact a mental hospital from seeing how much I'm giggling like an idiot Omg.
This was a childhood friends to lovers perfection every chapter just makes you want to go on, it kinda lives you on a cute cliffhanger on the end of every chapter.
Both natsukawa and kazuhito are just so pure, You just want to protect them and omg I wished them both happiness also I WANT MOREEEE 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺.
This is cuuuuute! One of the decent bl stories out there. I really like love stories that stems from friendship. I love that kind of connection. So much fluff in extra chapters too, I love it so much!
I really loved Natsukawa and Tanaka’s relationship and how that grew throughout the manga, and it was just really wholesome and it made me happy! Definitely recommend!
Etwas, was mir immer sehr gut gefällt.
"Living with him" is a simple M/M romance story about university students, childhood friends and roommates Ryota Natsukawa and Kazuhito Tanaka budding romance. Natsukawa is curious as to why Tanaka doesn't have a girlfriend despite his good looks, good grades and popularity so he decides to go on a date with Tanaka to discover his faults and give him advice based on him findings. The two have them grow closer as it becomes obvious to why Tanaka hasn't dated anyone in years. Nothing much happens in this story and unfortunately the change in relationship between Natsukawa and Tanaka was sudden. Natsukawa's feelings are seemingly out of nowhere. There has been no evidence of his feelings for Tanaka before he was told by their mutual friends that Tanaka never patted the head of his previous girlfriend and hasn't dated anyone since high school. The pacing is terrible and the characters don't have much development or anything interesting about them. This story has so much potential to be a great romance/romantic comedy and yet the writer wasted 15 chapters of the characters hardly attempting to move their story forward only to randomly start dating off screen and because of this the sex scenes in the final and bonus chapters feels rushed. Natsukawa's family is selfish to the point of being annoying. Most Tanaka's friends only appear to discuss Tanaka's previous relationships except the one friend who also serves as the mutual friend who gives relationship advice. The bonus Christmas story was an awful read. I don't find fujoshi jokes funny instead I find them ridiculous. It's quite creepy for a person to treat or think of gay people as characters from BL/yaoi manga. That said I liked that Tanaka treats Natsukawa kindly and never forces him to do anything he dislikes. It's always a blessing to come across shounen-ai and M/M story that has a healthy dynamic between both lovers. This story has been adapted into a Japanese drama series. Quite a few BL and M/M manga have been adapted to TV and net last year and a few of those series I've read or plan to read. "Living with him" isn't an awful story but it's definitely not one of the best stories I've read. This story certainly isn't written as well as "Touch within the Abyss","Never Let Go","Honey so Sweet" and "Lullaby of the Dawn". 3 and a half stars
By the cover artist of BL First Crush Anthology, who also wrote one of the stories I was most intrigued by in that anthology. This is their first full-length manga - it was originally intended to end after the second chapter, when Natsukawa realized that his childhood friend and college roommate, Kazuhito, might be romantically interested in him.
It's very cute, although it doesn't have a whole lot of substance. I was wondering if maybe I just wasn't reading it in the right mood, but when I went back and checked my notes from the anthology, I'd had a similar thought about their other story. I liked it, but it felt like a dozen other stories I'd already read.
This is a pretty traditional friends to lovers storyline, with a couple nice flashbacks of Kazuhito having been in love with Natsukawa since they were much younger. While I liked the development from Natsukawa's side, I don't know if I felt a huge amount of chemistry from them. Moving to kissing and more in the final chapter felt a little forced, like we had to get there for publishing industry reasons, and Miyata was as awkward about it as the inexperienced new boyfriends.
Still, the gentleness of their relationship was nice. I liked Kazuhito's supportive friend, and I bet Natsukawa's family will be thrilled to eventually find out he's dating the friend their two interfering moms squished into a shared apartment. (Although was Natsukawa really going to live in a two-bedroom by himself for his first year of college? Lucky or rich.)
I'll reread in future to see if I can sit with it longer and pull more depth out of it, but it's probably just a sweet, simple story with nice art that doesn't require too much extra thought.
si mal no recuerdo era de dos best friends que eran roomies que se daban cuenta que no querian que el otro tuviera pareja because they were in love with each other. i could be wrong tho. jaijdsoid
very simple and cute story; definitely another comfort read type of situation, which I'm a big fan of. unfortunately, it seems to me that some scenes could have been pretty impactful for the plot and just didn't hit as hard as i thought they should. for instance, i felt like it wasn't really clear to me how ryota realized that kazuhito has feelings for him. it was only hinted at a little and all of a sudden he jumped to the conclusion that he must be in love with him and i just sat there like,, ??? how did we get here? anyways, it's not a big deal but it bugged me a little. i have high hopes for the live-action adaptation that just came out. in the first episode, they've already moved some story beats around successfully imo, so I'm looking forward to rereading this once the tv show is over and finding m0re appreciation for it then ^^
This story follows two boys who were friends as kids, but drifted apart as they got older. The two reunite again after their moms basically force them to become roommates. Natsukawa was ready to finally be on his own so he's a little annoyed about having a roommate, especially one he barely knows anymore, but living with Kazuhito is easy and comfortable. Kazuhito is charming and handsome, but apparently can't keep a girlfriend so Natsukawa offers to fake date him to see if he can figure out why Kazuhito gets dumped.
so so cute. I felt like I needed a reread since I keep getting advertisements for it. It moves pretty quick and not too much happens, but the relationship is sweet and it's just a great fluff read.
Ryota is about to start at uni but instead of living alone, his mother arranged for him to live with his childhood friend Kazuhito, whom he hasn't seen much since they went to different high schools. Kazuhito is in love with Ryota and after confessing his feelings, Ryota has to work on his own feelings. The style is cute and the story is very positive. No rapey scenes, no abuse or other weird shenanigans. Kazuhito is very aware how uncomfortable Ryota could be and even when they end up together, he never pushes for any sexual contact. It's honestly refreshing reading about two protagonists that genuinly like each other, communicate in a healthy way and are age appropriate in their reactions.
The manga is entertaining enough, but also repetitive. It's certainly more enjoyable than most BLs out there, but I was missing a spark between me and the story. It didn't click for me. Sweet and positive, but nothing that yanked my heart and shattered it to pieces (in a good way). Although, I have to be fair, it's tough to be as good as Blue Flag, Vol. 1. The ending makes me cry just thinking about it.
Anyow, if you want a cute and quick story with some bonus chapters at the end, check this out.
Do you think you're the type of person that feels that "you're not good enough" for the person that likes you? Do you think that the person you love would be happier with someone else?
Living with Him is a cute, fluffy, feel-good BL with characters that do eventually manage to get their feelings across and become honest with one another. Not a super slow burn, but not too fast either.
Nothing new. Nothing special. But the art is good, the execution is good, and the main themes come across pretty nicely. If you like this type of story you'll like this one too.
The best definition is: adorable! This is a sweet story about friendship, love, and patience.
Kazuhito is so brave for declaring his love for Natsukawa, and he gives him time and space to think about it without any pressure. I really liked that. Then we follow Natsukawa on his quest to understand his feelings for his friend and how to act on them.
This was one of my favorite BL manga til now. The characters felt well developed, as well as their story as friends and roommates. It felt heartwarming.
This story is so ADORABLE, SWEET, ROMANTIC THAT'S ITS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THE BEST WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT. The art is wonderful, all the characters adorable and sweet you wish they could be your actual friends. The story and romanticism rising slowly but perfectly you can't help feel like you are seeing them grow too.
I really had a few good chuckles and smiles thanks to it. Sure is a great BL story to enjoy and share.
