Not too bad for a romance book, but the ending felt a little contrived like a Hallmark movie. “Of course I’ll give up my career and stay in this dinky little town because I love a man here.”

Also not a fan of feeling like I should have read all the other books in this series first.

I enjoyed visiting Mermaids Point once again, but am sad that the series is ending and I have to say goodbye to these wonderful characters. In the first book of the series, we meet Aurora Storm, an actress/singer who had been hired to pretend to be a mermaid. In that story she and Nick had a few sparks, but she left to pursue her career. In Happy Endings at Mermaids Point, Aurora is back. She has been a target of malicious social media bashing and heads to Mermaids Point to hide out and spend time in the only place where she has ever felt welcome for being herself. Nick is thrilled to have her back and his feelings were quickly rekindled. He never stopped caring about Aurora. With a marriage coming up (Nessa and Tom), Aurora is quickly pulled into the community and family. As she spends more time in Mermaids Point, she begins to realize that she is happy here and maybe needs to settle down and begin a new life.

I love this community and the characters that inhabit it. Nessa and Tom are finally getting married and all their close friends and family are around to support and celebrate. Nessa's family has lived in Mermaids Point for years, so everyone has wanted her to be happy. Aurora has been invited, but she is constantly worried about taking the spotlight off the happy couple. I am not a huge social media junkie, and the way the social media platforms can destroy someone's life really bothers me. People jump on the bandwagon without knowing the real facts behind a story. Nick is a sweetheart who has been looking for happiness, but his heart was always with Aurora. He is so caring, patient, insightful and lovable. All I will say about this story is that it is a wonderful ending to this series, bringing everything full circle and with closure. There is a nod to the "Me Too" movement which fit this story perfectly. If you enjoy stories that include Christmas, family, pets, friendship, community, second chances, hope and of course, romance and love then I recommend this book.

It’s bittersweet coming to the end of a series I’ve really enjoyed, but I am always filled with the knowledge that Sarah will be bringing more new books to me in another wonderful community, so I only have good things to look forward to.

So I should start by saying how much I enjoyed this, although sad it’s ending, what a way to go out, although this is a series, these can be read as stand-alone and don’t need to have read the previous books, but you get so much more out of them if you do.

I loved Nick and Aurora's story, as always Sarah writes such gorgeous characters and I loved the focus on social media, the obsessiveness and the backlash showing how easily it can destroy someone. Nick is just everything, so supportive, patient, I just loved him and his family so much. I won’t say much more as don’t want to spoil anything, but it’s just a delight to read and such a lovely story.

If you want a story that includes Christmas, family, community, second chances, hope and of course, love then this book is for you. If you don’t enjoy these things, I bet you don’t believe in Father Christmas, the tooth fairy and don’t think kittens and puppies are cute, are you even human 🤣🤣

Thanks to Sarah Bennett, Boldwood Books and Rachel’s Random Resources for a free ebook in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own and freely given.

MY RATING GUIDE: 3.5 Stars (rounded up to 4 for excellent audio performance). A satisfying, low angst, low conflict “comfort” conclusion to the series, much a Hallmark feel. I’m not a fan of either high-drama/angst or “manufactured” conflict (caused by misunderstandings due to terrible communication between the MCs) so I was okay with the gentle ending. I am not a fan of Celeb books (at all). If I had been, I might have rated HEAMP higher because of the inside peek into a public figure’s high-pressure world (singers such as Taylor Swift, etc).

1= dnf/What was that?; 2= Nope, not for me; 3= This was okay/fairly good; 3.5= I ENJOYED IT; 4= I liked it a lot; 5= I Loved this; it was great! (I SELDOM give 5 Stars).

Nick Morgan, 28, has lived at Mermaids Point his entire life. Although he occasionally feels penned in by the tight community life entirely dependent upon seasonal tourism, Nick cannot imagine living happily anywhere else. Everyone in his family is somehow tied into the community’s tourism trade. They own a bakery & cafe, a boat tour business, an eclectic gift shop/bookstore and more. Nick redesigns local living spaces from old buildings which have lost their usefulness, either selling or renting the new spaces out. Between jobs, he helps out family and neighbors with whatever odd jobs require doing.

Aurora Storm is a popular recording artist recently moving into film and television roles who spent a past holiday recuperating in Mermaids Point. She and Nick met at that time and Nick immediately fell for her. But Aurora had her sights set on performing and so, when her time was over, she left Mermaids Point. But she is back, for a spell.

Comments ~
1) A prologue begins the book introducing the 10-12 characters (extended family) who were featured in previous books. With that introduction, HAPPY ENDINGS could be enjoyed as a Standalone title but all the characters and their backstories are better understood if at least some of the earlier books have been read. HEAMP is the final book in the Mermaids Point series and there’s a sense of wrapping up loose ends as it reads, much like the final half of a Hallmark movie - gentle & sweet.
2) Nick Morgan has been a secondary character in previous books. This was his last opportunity to get his HEA in print. ;)
3) HAPPY ENDINGS is, as is the entire series, a gentle Romance with an easy tone, few surprises and only minor conflicts. A comfortable listen when craving something less stressful or chaotic (I am simultaneously listening to a sci-fi/thriller/horror novel so HEAMP provided balance). ;)
4) Annabelle Indge is the voice artist for the complete series. Her character voices and light tone is nicely done. I picked up the entire series in audiobook format on a past sale and have been enjoying these “easy listening” stories as I work outdoors, complete chores and wind down before bed.

READER CAUTIONS ~
PROFANITY - Yes. Minimal use of British slang and strong language.
VIOLENCE - None.
SEXUAL SITUATIONS - Yes, but closed door with quick fade away.

Okay, okay. Full disclosure. The beginning of the story had me second guessing myself. When we first meet the Morgans, they are quite a bunch, with many stories to share, many life events going on, and everyone trying to be together to celebrate it, while sorting through their own issues in their head. Case in point, Nick. With all the hubbub going on, it was losing me, so if you're an easily turned DNF type of reader, I beg you to push through that part to get to the good stuff, because seriously, there is LOTS of good stuff.

Aurora was an interesting character. I loved seeing how she mentally split from the public persona to who she was at heart when the limelight was off. That's not to say she wasn't true to herself in either case, but she could turn on the extra wattage smile, the extra layer of aloofness needed to battle through the publicity. I loved that she showed the business as it is and as it could be. She held her ground, had a good moral support team in her agents, and was just plain likeable...even if she did break out boy Nick's heart, once upon a time. Nick was memorable on his on terms. Though wafting through life untethered at the moment, he still led with his heart, and would do anything for those he loved...even those he loved once upon a time. When he comes to her rescue after a less-than-simple ask, old flames have a way of reigniting, and sometimes it's all about the timing. Do these two have what it takes to weather the past AND the present for a Christmas better than all the rest? You'll have to read it to find out, but jolly old St. Nick has been known to pull some miracles out of that red sack of his before.

A great read for fans of the series, and a wonderful way to step into the upcoming holiday reading season...

I have been a fan of Sarah's work for a while now. I haven't read everything that she has written which is something that I hope to rectify fairly soon. I must admit that I have a particular fondness for the series set in Mermaids Point. I have read and loved each book in the series. When I heard that Sarah was due to release another book in the series, I knew that I had to read it at the earliest opportunity. Well ladies and gents the wait is over because the fifth (and final) book in the Mermaids Point series is called 'Happy Endings At Mermaids Point' and it was released on 3rd October 2022. I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'Happy Endings At Mermaids Point' but more about that in a bit.

The synopsis of 'Happy Endings At Mermaids Point' was enough to grab my attention and the story within the book's covers sealed the deal as it were. As soon as I started reading, I knew that there would be no chance that I would be doing anything else other than reading for the rest of the afternoon because I simply couldn't put the book down. My Kindle wasn't exactly glued to my hands but it might as well have been because it travelled everywhere with me. I couldn't bear to miss a single second of the story. Part of the reason why I enjoyed the book so much is down to the fact that I liked the characters and I liked the sound of Mermaids Point. I had my own suspicions as to what was going to happen so I had to see if I was on the right track or if I had wandered down another path entirely. I soon got to the end of the story and I was left feeling as if I had had a 'hug from a mug' in that the story left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

'Happy Endings At Mermaids Point' is superbly written but then I have come to expect nothing less from Sarah Bennett. Sarah has one of those easy going writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. In fact her books read more like a chat between friends rather than reading an actual book. I hope that makes sense. Sarah clearly cares about her characters and this shines through in the very vivid and realistic way in which she describes them. She makes them sound just as real as you and I. Whilst I was reading this book I felt as though I was reuniting with old friends. Sarah describes Mermaids Point so vividly that I got a real feel for the place and could probably find my way around. In fact I was all set to go and pack a suitcase and go to Mermaids Point for a holiday. I love the way in which Sarah makes the reader feel as though they are part of the story and at the heart of the action.

In short, I adored reading 'Happy Endings At Mermaids Point' and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Sarah's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

What a lovely second chance romance this proved to be,
Set in this delightful, supportive community.
With family and friends all working together
No one minds the dreadful inclement weather!

A pop star who has travelled far
But publicity sometimes hits below par.
Accusations, insinuations and lots more
Have Aurora Storm looking for the exit door.

When things go wrong, dramatically so,
New plans are made where she should go.
She's returning to Mermaids Point again
To Nick Morgan who'll help ease her pain.

Snowstorms, Christmas, family, paparazzi, too
Manipulating stars, what next will they do?
Is a life of fame what she really aims for
Or will she find another life that she'll adore?

So sad this is the last story in this set
They're all fantastic, but this is probably the best yet!
The visits to Mermaids Point have all been great
So for the next series, Juniper Meadows, I just can't wait!

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
I throughly enjoyed reading it and this is my honest review.

Four and a Half Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭒
Happy Endings at Mermaids Point by Sarah Bennett is the fourth book in her popular Mermaids Point series. It’s also the last book in the series and wraps it up very nicely. Fans of the series are sure to be pleased with this final book.

Aurora Storm has finally got her pop singing career back on track until a social media blow-up makes her need to change the narrative. She goes to the only person she trusts to help her out of the mess, Nick Morgan from Mermaids Point. Nick and Aurora had a relationship prior, but her music career took off and she had to leave. Nick is both surprised and pleased to see Aurora again, but he’s also wary, as she broke his heart once before.

It is so sad to see this delightful series end, but, I love how the author wrapped everything up. Aurora and Nick’s relationship started in book 1, so it’s fitting that the last book is all about the continuation of their relationship. Nick is just adorable, but it’s a little harder to like Aurora, as she’s a pop star and a bit self-centered. But, when she’s around Nick, her true self comes out and she’s very likable and perfect for Nick.

Really, the best part of this book and the series is the townspeople of Mermaid Point and it’s always so nice to see them grow and change throughout the series. This last installment included all the Christmas holiday cheer and to see the characters all get-together and celebrate the holidays together makes for a wonderful holiday book. And I want to thank the author for the character list at the beginning of the book, as it always helps to remind me who is who.

I highly recommend Happy Endings at Mermaid’s Point to anyone who enjoys women’s fiction. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My Thoughts:
We find Aurora making a Hugh comeback and the Drama and paparazzi is still following her. So when she returns to Mermaid Point and meets back up with Nick and her family does Nick still feel the same way is there a wedding in their future?
This is a nice romantic holiday read which author Sarah Bennett writes so well.

didn't realise this is actually the final book in a series. It read well as a standalone, although there are quite a few characters to get to know. The author has included a list of characters at the start which was useful but I think it would be lovely to read the series from the beginning to get to know them properly. Often funny and more often emotional, I loved Nick and Aurora's story. The characters around them were so beautifully written as well and I loved the sense of community, it would be a wonderful place to live. This will definitely be a new series for me to start, though I'm already sad it has ended,  albeit in such a wonderful way.

Is it very wrong of me to dream of being kidnapped by the Morgan family and forced to live in Mermaids Point?
The Morgans and the Nelsons are such wonderful people and so welcoming. They are all there for each other, loving, but also teasing each other and just being the best kind of family! Nick is very similar to his dad in the way he is really there for everyone and has such a great heart! I really enjoyed reading Nick & Aurora's story and catching up again with the other characters that we had gotten to know in the previous books. The romance is obviously there, but it's the gentle kind, more or less behind closed doors, which works perfectly for this type of feel good, heartwarming Hallmark style story. It would be amazing if this whole series was made into a a TV series. I would love every minute of it!

HAPPY ENDINGS AT MERMAIDS POINT
BY
SARAH BENNETT

So, this is our fourth (plus a novella in the middle) and final visit to Mermaids Point.

As we head back to the Point, everyone is busy preparing for Christmas, which this year will include a Christmas eve wedding for two much loved characters.

Nick has finished his conversion property and is now looking for his next project.
While everyone around him seems to be coupled up and in love, Nick is still holding a candle for Aurora.

Singing sensation Aurora Storm is flying high in Vegas. But when things turn to custard, Aurora turns to the one person she knows she can trust to help her put things right… Nick

Back in Mermaids Point, there is clearly something very special between Nick and Aurora, but their lives are worlds apart, so how can it ever work?

This is another charming and heartwarming trip to Mermaids Point. You can’t help but want to be a part of the Morgan/Nelsonclan.
Mermaids Point has the loveliest sense of community that will seduce you and wrap you up within it’s pages.

Nick and Aurora’s story is very sweet and touching. She is gentle and vulnerable, while he is strong and loyal.
If and how their love can work out in the long term is the question that kept me guessing to the end of the story.

Sarah Bennett has ended this delightful series beautifully.
It’s sad to leave Mermaids Point, but it’s been a wonderful journey through a series of books that have all found a place in my heart.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Out now on all formats.

With thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood for a digital arc of this title.

I have loved this series and will miss my visits to Mermaids Point. What an ending though a Christmas wedding and lots of excitement in the lead up to Christmas for this lovely community. Aurora is back on the scene, so will Nick and her get their happy ending or are they destined to be ships that pass in the night. Sarah Bennett has written a series that will stay with me for a long time. Looking forward to reading the new series.

Do you know, I’d got Aurora Storm all wrong – largely because of her involvement in the mermaid episode that brought visitors flocking to the Point, but also because she walked away and broke lovely Nick’s heart. But when we meet her in this book, she’s particularly lost, alone and hurting – she’s been the victim of a really nasty sting that’s created a media storm, and badly needs to disappear for a while to lick her wounds. And when she reaches out to Nick, all the hurt that went before is forgotten – he willingly steps in as her fake boyfriend, and provides the support and safe haven that she so desperately needs. And, of course, it’s not just Nick – the families embrace her with the same warmth they do everyone who needs their help. But when the fake relationship becomes something rather more – a romance I really believed in – and the media start to lose interest again, might Aurora just walk away again and leave Nick alone and hurting? Or will the magic of Christmas and the special time they spend together make her realise that her future could be something rather different?

As the last in a series I’ve so enjoyed, I had rather high expectations for this book – and I have to say that I thought it was absolute perfection. And I knew it would be from the very beginning – the opening chapter is just wonderful, reintroducing the Morgans and Nelsons, setting the scene, gently catching up with some of the back story, reminding you what a lovely community this is to be part of, such clever and accomplished writing. Every single character is wonderfully drawn, their own stories continuing from the earlier books – but no-one would really struggle if they picked up this lovely book as a standalone. The story, although written in the third person, is told very much from Aurora and Nick’s perspectives, and they’re both really sympathetic characters who you can’t help but take to your heart, hoping that there’s some chance of them both having a happy ending. And, of course, it’s Christmas – and it’s one with all the feels, as everyone comes together for a children’s party at Alex’s bookshop (fancy dress included – it’s just so lovely) and for the excitement of a long awaited Christmas wedding.

As always, the emotional content is just beautifully done – but there’s also a lovely lightness about the storytelling and plenty of gentle humour. While the primary focus is on the story of Nick and Aurora – and she won’t really break his heart again, will she? – I just loved being part of this wonderful community again for one last time, popping into the cafe and bookshop, walking on the beach, seeing what’s happened with the development on the quay (those apartments are just gorgeous – might there be a chance of one becoming available?), feeling the warmth of the hug the community always provides.

Every series has to come to an end – and for this one, the timing is undoubtedly right – but it certainly didn’t stop me having a little tear in my eye when all the loose ends were tied up neatly and I reached the book’s end. This was just the most perfect finale – bravo! The loveliest read, and highly recommended by me.

Happy Endings at Mermaids Point has all the charm, romance, and heart that fans of Sarah Bennett’s books have come to expect from her books.

I always get excited when I get asked to be on one of Sarah’s book tours. I have grown very fond of the Mermaid Points series and was excited to head back there for the holiday season. This is the fourth book of the series, but it can be read as a stand-alone because Sarah does a fabulous job of bringing her readers up to speed in the first few chapters. But honestly, this is a delightful series, and if you are a fan of charming English romances, you will want to read the previous books in this series. Overall, I really like this book. It has Sarah’s hallmark English romance charm, a quirky cast of characters, an adorable animal, and a story that moves you. Sarah also has this remarkable ability to make each story in this series unique and unforgettable. Each couple’s love story has its distinct voice and never felt like things were becoming repetitive.

This story focuses on Nick and Aurora, who first met up in the first book in the series, but Aurora left to pursue her music career. Fans of the series will know that Nick has been nursing a broken heart in the previous books and has been pinning over Aurora. These two reunite when Aurora finds herself the subject of a scandal and needs Nick’s help to help calm the social media waters. The chemistry between these two is evident right from the moment they reunite. There is something that just clicks with them, and as a reader, I felt a certain amount of rightness to their relationship, which is weird because they really shouldn’t work as a couple because they live such different lives. Nick is such a sweetheart and a darling of a book boyfriend. He has got that boy next door vibes to him, and I love how he interacts with the people around him. He is thoughtful, funny, and charming, really the perfect combination you could find in a guy.

Fans of the series will be delighted to catch up with previous couples, and I was secretly delighted with how much time Ivy and Alex got in this book (because they are my favourite).

Sarah also focuses on the toxicity of social media and how harmful it can be to a person’s life. Aurora’s life looks like it would be all glitz and glamour, but the reality is that she often has to deal with social media trolls and “fake” news that seems to circulate on the internet.

Happy Endings at Mermaids Point is a nice and easy holiday read that will leave you feeling all festive inside.

Thank you, Boldwood Books and Rachel Random Resources, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Having never read the four previous Mermaids Point novels, I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the characters and situations in this novel, Happy Endings at Mermaids Point, but my fears were put to rest immediately. This book works perfectly well as a stand-alone story. And what a charming story it is. Early chapters include a lovely beach proposal for two of the older characters in this novel, and when we get far enough in that Aurora enters the story, we are ready for romance.

Aurora and Nick themselves are fantastic characters. She's a singer working in an ensemble tour in Las Vegas, and reflecting on her earlier relationship with Nick. Nick, meanwhile, has just finished remodeling a warehouse into luxury apartments, and is searching for his next venture for when the last apartment sells. Naturally Aurora returns to Mermaids Point  - and Nick - when her world falls apart mid-tour, and we get to see what happens. Both characters are incredibly dynamic and very human, and author Sarah Bennett's dialogue feels completely organic. I was rooting for these two, but I was also happy to follow wherever the story went.

The other characters in this novel were equally well drawn, and rounded out Nick's family, and the only reason I'm not naming all of them is that I don't want to get details wrong that might have been explained in earlier novels in this series. What I will add is that Mermaids Point is, itself, a sort of character in this novel. Having grown up in one beloved (American) seaside town, and having just moved to another, I know how close-knit such places can be, especially for the locals or townies who remain through the off-season. Author Bennett really made me feel as if I were reading her book while lying on the beach, and I'm pretty sure I can still smell the salt air.

As a side note, I downloaded the audio version of this novel as well as reading it and want to note that the narration is perfect, so if you prefer audiobooks, you can trust this title.

If you're looking for a feel-good read that still feels plausible, Happy Endings at Mermaids Point is the book for you.

Goes well with: tuna salad sandwiches wrapped in waxed paper, and mostly-still-cold lemonade.

I know that I was not alone in my hopes that we would eventually get Nick’s story and it would include Aurora Storm. Nick has been a terrific character, always offering love and support to his friends and family. There was a brief chance that he would find happiness with Ivy, but that was not to be, as we saw in ‘Love Blooms’.
As the book opens, Nick has finally completed his renovations of the old warehouse that has created some luxury apartments. He’s now looking for his next opportunity, ready for when the final apartment unit finally sells. Meanwhile, Aurora is starring in an ensemble show in Las Vegas and loving life at the top of her game. Despite her success, she still reflects on her time in Mermaids Point and her brief relationship with Nick.
It's not a spoiler to tell you that Aurora’s world crashes down around her ears, and she flees to the security of Mermaids Point and the arms of Nick.
Nick and Aurora’s relationship had always seemed like the stuff of dreams but ultimately doomed because of how different their worlds are. Nick enjoys small town life, surrounded by family and friends, while Aurora has worked hard to find her own fame and fortune, but at the expense of her relationship with her family and friends.
I just loved this gorgeous book which was the perfect conclusion to this delightful series. All the familiar characters are present and it’s a real treat to see them all finding their happy ever afters going from strength to strength. We meet a new character, Angel, who is well matched to the bookshop cat, Lucifer. Sarah Bennett perfectly tied up all the storylines and created a conclusion that delivered happiness by the boatload.
With plenty of references to the previous books, this can be read as a stand-alone story, but I would highly recommend immersing in the whole series and enjoying all the Mermaids Point has to offer.

Oh it's wonderful to be back in Mermaids Point again with all the gang. I love them all and it just feels so familiar and homely to be back there again. I now think of all the characters as friends and when I'm reading, I imagine myself as one of them, sharing in their journeys throughout life.

I am so pleased that Nick gets a story! It's been a constant thread throughout this linked series and we've had some small glimpses onto Aurora but it was great to finally meet her. Happy Endings at Mermaids Point works perfectly as a stand alone however I recommend reading the series in order to get a good understanding of the different relationships and their timeline.

Aurora is so well written and her vulnerable side was captured really well. This threw me a little as I was expecting a very different character from the snippets of her character that I had read before. The Morgans and Nelsons completely welcomed her into the fold and they were the right people at the right time for her to spend time with. The opening chapter of this book reallys sets the scene for the dynamics and love that the Nelson’s and Morgans have for each other and Mermaids Point. It was such a clever way to set the scene and introduce everyone to people new to the series.

This series started with Autumn/Winter and Christmas is such a perfect time to end the series, and with a much awaited wedding no less.

This is a perfect book to snuggle up with the winter and it has such a beautiful community vibe and gorgeous characters. I cannot believe it is the end of Mermaids POint but as always, I eagerly anticipate Sarah’s next book/series as each one takes me to a new place that I fall in love with.

This felt like an appropriate conclusion to the series as a whole. Generally, I would have liked a different ending to some degree, but I will not go further into that because it would mean revealing a little too much.
I would not recommend coming into this series at this point, although it technically can work as a standalone. I did not enjoy the first in the series but trusting the author and my previous experiences with her books, I picked up the next when I got the chance and enjoyed every following book.
We have a robust local community with the usual suspects regarding well-behaved and nosy people. This time, more than ever before, their mettle is tested as a very famous person comes to hide out. Aurora Storm was introduced in the very first book, and there were subtle mentions of her and her impact on the only bachelor remaining in the main family circle.
Hers and Nick's story is now finally getting its day in the sun(not literally, since its Christmas).
I was pleasantly surprised by my reaction to this pair. Given the hype and the fact that this was a running plot point behind everyone else's, I did not expect there to be too much depth to Aurora's struggles. I was wrong on all counts. Since there is already history, the book focuses on the individual and their aspirations, different from what their parents imagined.
It is a solid entry for the series and another positive set for my experiences with the author's works. I would recommend this series as a whole to others who are fans of this genre and who are looking for a cozy emotional read.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

Happy Endings at Mermaids Point is the final book in this delightful series by Sarah Bennett. In the first book in the series Summer Kisses at Mermaids Point we briefly see Nick and Aurora, but we have had to wait for the final book in the series to finally get their story. This series is like happiness captured inside a bottle washed up on the beach at Mermaids Point. If you haven’t read the other books in the series I would recommend you starting with Summer Kisses and work through them in order, it’s definitely worth it!

In spite of having no contact with Nick for 18 months, when faced with a disastrous media barrage, Aurora immediately wants to run to Nick, her ‘safety’ from the frenzied world she exists in.

Arriving in Mermaids Point after Nick picks her up at the airport, complete with a lost dog they rescued on the journey, they prepare for Christmas together with Nick’s welcoming family and friends. I loved the way in which the community welcomed Aurora and immediately closed ranks around her to keep her safe from external pressures. Throw in Christmas celebrations, and the wedding of local doctor Tom and Nick’s aunt Nerissa, and it really couldn’t get much more festive. The Christmas Eve wedding was perfect, complete with a little snow.

Where I was unsure of Aurora in Summer Kisses, I felt we really got a clearer idea of her personality, and it was impossible not to love her, she had such a warm and giving heart, and she fitted into the heart of the community effortlessly. Throw in a curly-haired Poldark-esque hero in Nick and I was completely sold!

This was the perfect finale to one of my favourite romance series, and although I feel a little sad that it is the end, I just know that whatever Sarah Bennett writes next will have me completely transfixed.

There’s not a lot to say except read it, you won’t regret it.

Famous music star, Aurora Storm, has made a fabulous come back, only to be caught in a media storm that leaves her baffled and desperate to escape. She contacts Nick Morgan, and he agrees to be her pretend boyfriend while she regroups at Mermaids Point. Nick and Aurora have a history together and he thought he would never see her again. Can he make her stay with him this time?

Mermaids Point and its inhabitants make you feel welcome and leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. The kind that makes you say aww, as you read the last word, close the book, and stare into the distance with a wistful look in your eyes. Nick and Aurora absolutely fit together, and their story concludes this beautiful series.

I can highly recommend this book if you like the pretend relationship trope that slowly develops into more as Aurora not only falls in love with Nick, but with the town as well. Each book in the series stands well on its own. Starting with book one will allow you to get to know all the characters so much better.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved this one. It was so magical with the celebrity glow cast by singer Aurora Storm, the cosy atmosphere of Mermaids Point, and the fabulous family support system.

This is the final book in the series, but apart from the first scene, which has a big cast of characters, it didn’t matter than I hadn’t read the other books. Aurora, Nick and the others won me over straight away, and as soon as Aurora showed up, I was hooked. She was both glamourous and gratifyingly normal. And her attempts to make people like her in real life, rather than relying on her celebrity status, brought a full-on feel-good factor to the story.

Nick has been in love with Aurora since he first met her, so the spark was there from the outset. He was so appealing, kind and helpful and as we see Aurora through his eyes, and start to dream about the future he wants with her, it casts the story in a magical glow.

Nick’s family is big, warm and enthusiastic and they are a huge part of the story as they sweep Aurora up from a harsh and brutal past, and cushion her from the barbs that fame shoots continually in her direction. With Aurora, we feel looked after and hopeful, heading into a family Christmas that brings both love and challenges.

This is a gorgeous story and a perfect one for the run into the festive season. I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series!

Aurora Storm, Uber famous pop star is caught in a clinch that was innocent but causes a storm on social media. Desperate to distract from the story she asks for help from Nick Morgan, a man she trusts to pretend to be her boyfriend. Nick is still carrying a torch for her from the couple of weeks they spent together the previous year and he jumps at the chance to help her and make the most of being thrown together.

Aurora joins Nick and his family for festive celebrations and is caught up in the romance of it all, but can she turn her back on pop stardom for village life? And can Nick prove that happy endings really do happen in only 2 weeks?

‘A couple of weeks pretending to be in love with the only woman I know who’s been able to get close enough to you to break your heart,’

Oh I just squeaked and rubbed my hands together with glee over this. I sort of had the picture of what may happen and I WANTED it too! I was not disappointed! This is a totally christmas-tastic book full of snow, joy and is so festive! I’ve said it before, this genre often contains difficult themes woven in to a wonderful love story and Sarah Bennett really hits the mark. A fabulous cast of characters, loads of romance, the sea. It is just luscious!!

Beautifully festive and full of joy, many, many stars to this one!

Happy Endings at Mermaid's Point is the fifth and final book in the series. It's the perfect book to pick up and get lost in on a lazy day while sipping from your tea or coffee cup.
We met Nick and Aurora way back in the first book, Summer Kisses at Mermaid's Point but had to wait til now for them to get their own story, and oh what a delightful story it is.
Aurora is a singer and despite all things gets caught up in a media storm. As we all know more than half of the stuff you hear in the media isn't true. Due to unforeseen circumstances she has to come home to Mermaid's Point. Now Mermaid's Points residents have the small-town, charming, will help you with anything feel. This is exactly what Aurora is counting on as she needs to enlist the help of Nick. He'll pretend to be her boyfriend just until the media settles down. Well, we know how fake dating turns out so many times, it becomes the real thing, either right away or eventually.
The romance of Christmas is in the air and the residents of Mermaids are out and about celebrating.
So fun and festive this feel-good book will linger with you long after the last page has been read.

This is a great ending to a fabulous series. I adore that a couple (Nick and Aurora) that met in the first book, come together again, and find that they should never have parted. This is a story filled with love and compassion. From a lost dog that finds a forever home, a community embracing a new person, a family including a new member (that needs their support so much!), an emotional wedding (that had me crying) and hope for a future reconciliation of a parent/child relationship.

I enjoyed so much reading this entire Mermaids Point series! I would recommend that a person would read the entire series to experience this wonderful world that Sarah Bennett created, but I do think each book can be read and understood independently. I am going to miss reading about Mermaids Point, but look forward to future books by Ms. Bennett.

I want to thank Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the immense pleasure of reading the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

Right back at the beginning of this series, we were introduced to Aurora Storm, the impact she had on Mermaid’s Point has almost rumbled on through all the subsequent books, she was the enigma that caused one of the Point’s residents, Nick to give his heart away and he has never been right since. As he has witnessed his sister Laurie find what she has always been looking for (Summer Kisses at Mermaid Point), his aunt Nerissa who never thought she would recover from her lost love (Autumn Dreams at Mermaids Point) and even Ivy the girl everyone thought he would end up with (Love Blooms at Mermaids Point), he is convinved he will find love one day.

That is until a storm blows back into Mermaids Point. That storm is Aurora, after being caught up sadly by a media storm, caused by the manipulation of many in America, Aurora needs a reason to distract everyone and probably herself from what has happened – enter Nick.

Nick has to play the dutiful boyfriend and has to convince the outside world that there relationship is true. All the while convincing himself and his family that he is okay and that he will recover from having his heart broken. He is strong enough to cope.

But is Aurora, strong enough to suddenly be thrust into Mermaids Point, into the family life of The Morgan’s and the full-on run up to Christmas. Perhaps being a popstar is not what she really wants?

As always, Sarah Bennett has a canny way of introducing current issues to her novels without them sounding contrived, this was important in the way that Social Media used and spat out Aurora as it does seem to with many well known and less well known people. To see the rawness of how this affected the character, made me really think about how we treat people who expose themselves in this way. Of course Aurora had the support and love of the wonderful community of Mermaids Point to help her heal and they do it so effectively and cleverly you cannot see it happening.

With a great big dollop of Christmas and Festive cheer, the perfect ending to this series of books and the happy ending we all wanted. It felt right to leave the characters to their lives, something which doesn’t always happen at the end of series of books, you always feel there is something else to be told.

Another classic from Sarah Bennett and I look forward to where she is going to take me next.
