After the death of a mother that did nothing but love her son, Emmett, he is left with the other mother that tormented him ever since his adoption. Emmett runs away to an island he knew nothing about in hopes of finding the blood relatives of a deceased woman. But after ending up homeless and beaten on the street, he loses hope.
Simply dragging his feet along the tar roads of Jamaica, Emmett found himself appealing to a rather interesting woman--one known to be heartless and the daughter of a very dangerous man.
He was taken in, fed, and clothed with a deal that he would become this woman's maid until he got himself on his feet. It was all fine; nothing could have gone wrong; it was perfection. Well, until he fell in love.
But how could you love someone who didn't have a heart? And how could they love you back?
Mia B. Smith writes for the dark-minded and dramatic all mixed with the hormones of a thousand intimacy-deprived bookworms. With characters who fall in love hard and want nothing but to be true to themselves and bring happiness to their morally grey lover(s), her stories weave all sorts of unique elements for reader excitement. Welcome to the dark and salacious that might suck you into a world you never knew you'd enjoy.
I absolutely loved this book. It was different, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love our sweet boy. I was shocked by how the book ended. I was not excepting that ending at all.
