As she grew, so did her love of stories, so much so that she often got in trouble at school for writing them, even if her other work was already done.

I'm late in providing this review. I keep going back and reading all 3 books in the series.
In book 3 we meet Naiya, and she's been committed by her adopted parents. It's not that she's crazy or an addict, but because she isn't quite human.
She's a wereleopard.
Becca Lynn is an amazing storyteller with research backed details, without boring the reader.
I highly recommend this book, the whole series really (and I've been personally assured there are more books in the works) for anyone who likes modern fantasy with a touch of kink and adventure.
