I wish these books were written better. For me personally I skim most of this one and just read the main plot points and interactions. I sooo badly want to love these but, every time… I’m just like.. meh 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😫 the storyline in this one was better and different than the other two which were basically mostly the same but it just… lacks….

-Our h was the H first love, and disappeared. She’s sweet but strong and a single mom.

Finn is the third book in the Secret and Lies series by BJ Alpha and the books just keep getting better and better. It can be read as a standalone, but best enjoyed in series order as some story arcs overlap books. Finn is the story of Finn and Angel, childhood sweethearts that get torn apart by war and betrayal as Angel drops off the face of the planet. When a chance call brings them back together eight years later, Finn vows to find out the reasons she left and promises never to let her go again.
This book guys! Seriously, this story will grab you and not let you go while secret after secret is revealed. Be prepared: tears are shed. The storyline was fantastic and moved super quickly. Substantive considering how much smexy there is in this book, lol. Tons of action and just a dash of suspense to leave you hanging with your mouth open at the end. I absolutely adore Angel. The once sweet girl, hardened by life and prepared to do whatever it takes for her daughter. Finn is over the top alpha at its best. Possessive. Protective. And just a little bit cuckoo over his girls. I love how he claims her daughter immediately as his own and how vulnerable he is in regards to the both of them. The chemistry between Finn and Angel is crazy. They've had it bad for each other since they were kids, had all their firsts together, and that translates to crazy chemistry that goes off like a volcano from the first time they see each other again. SUPER excited for Bren and that overarching story arc cliffy they left us with. Hopefully to get more in the next book 👀. Absolutely fantastic read - you won't be disappointed!

Finn keeps getting calls from a hospital about someone who he is supposed to be the next of kin for. Only he has no idea who it is. So he screens the calls. After some investigating by his brother, Finn realises that it’s “Angel”, the girl he loved who up and left him while he was in Iraq.
Angel finds herself in hospital after a reckless mistake and doesn’t expect to wake up to Finn at her bedside, 9 years after she left him.
But she can’t stay and he won’t let her leave.
4⭐️damn this one was spicy!!! And packed a punch from the start! It does have some sensitive sections where I did choke up a little but overall I liked it!!

I received an ARC of this book and I was so happy to get stuck in, having read the previous book, Con. It did not disappoint, the action starts straight away! Finn is drawn into attempting to save his former flame, Angel, who is terrified of a hidden monster from her past. Finn loves her with a terrifying passion, and sparks fly! As always with BJ Alpha, the blend of action and steamy scenes is a brilliant mix, these open door sex scenes are amongst the best I've ever read!! And I've read a lot! The descriptions are lust fueled, fiery, bordering on depraved...perfect!! Not gross or cringe as can be a worry with very explicit descriptions. This book also deals with an overarching plot thread from the other earlier books, which is great to see the series unfolding. Cant wait for the next one!

Finn had me at the edge of my seat from page one. I was utterly hooked by how honest and passionate Finn was. He knows what he wants and never lets anyone stand in his way.
Angel was shocked when Finn found her, but their chemistry was undeniable. They were meant for each other. They burn the pages with their steaminess. I love how Finn never lets her go and protects her. It's like the years never passed between them.
Finn and his brothers have an excellent relationship, and it's so special how they will stop at nothing to defend their family. The love and respect they have for Angel are so sweet.
I love how protective they were with Angel once the truth was out. They know how to handle her trauma with care, and they gave her the support and love she needed to get better. I love this story and can't wait to see where this series takes me.

Best book in the series
I love Finn and Angel's story; it is hot, funny, and heartbroken at times. Bj did a fantastic job writing this book. I highly recommend it!

I don’t even know where to begin. This is one of my favourite books I’ve read in a very long time!! It has everything you need. I honestly couldn’t put it down.
I loved the first two books in the series and it just keeps getting better and better. It is also becoming increasingly difficult to choose a favourite O’Connell. I fall more in love with each brother in each book.
I loved seeing the family interactions throughout and more of Cal and Con and how their families are adapting and the dynamics between all the brothers and their parents too.
I desperately needed to know what had happened to Angel and what secrets she was hiding. There were so many twist and turns and I was hooked from the beginning.
I sobbed for her, reading what she had been through was heartbreaking, but you also get to see how she survives. She’s a lot stronger than she realises.
Finn and Charlie make my heart melt. The way he calls her my princess immediately had me an emotional mess. I adore their relationship and all their interactions.
The spicy scenes were something else!! Fast burn! Absolutely 10/10. Finn has an extremely dirty mouth and wow do I love it! The chemistry between Angel and Finn is another level and so is their love for one another and their connection.
This is a must read!! 100% recommend. I already can’t wait for the next book in the series!

So I picked this book up and I devoured it, couldn’t put it down and then couldn’t sleep because I was thinking about the characters and the plot. You’ve outdone yourself with Finn and Angel they captured me from the off.
Finn knew from the moment he laid eyes on Angel when they were younger that she was it for him, and Angel felt the same the whole family took her in and treated her as one of their own. Finn left to join the military in the hopes of giving them the life they always dreamed of having b it when he returned Angel was gone. She left with without a trace and Finn never forgave her nor could he get her out of his head.
Years later after an accident they are brought back together and Finn wants answers and Angel is reluctant to give them to him she is scared of his reaction. In the years they were apart she has changed, her looks, her life and attitude they have so many challenges to overcome.
More secrets are revealed about the family and it’s past the plot is thickening and I’m so excited to find out more because this family has my whole heart, BJ knows how to write the funny scenes to balance out the more harrowing and traumatic ones but please make sure you check the triggers before reading.

Holy freaking smut balls was that book amazing!!
I was in love with Finn and Angel from the moment I met them. (I mean all the brothers are awesome)
This book just had so much going on that pulled you into the story you felt as though you were a part of the life they are living. The emotional rollercoaster you go on takes you on this crazy journey with so many twists and turns. The story at times had me crying 😭 it was so full of love but also the secrets that come to light make you want to scream and shout.
Finn is a possessive alpha male who wants what he wants and gets it everytime 🖤 I loved his crazy dark side but also his amazing soft side that only came out for his girls 🥰
The spice throughout is next level hotness 🥵🥵 and if you like the breeding trope this book is for you. You might need to make sure you have several pairs of knickers at the ready for when you start 🔥
The violence is incredible, the descriptions of what’s going on had me feeling a little sick which makes for the best kind of torture scenes.
The book flowed effortlessly, the story incredible and I just wanted more of the couple. With how things ended I can’t wait to read Bren’s book 😍

The book is the third in the Secrets and Lies series and this one follows the title character.
Finn has never forgot the love of his life, Angel who left him when he joined the forces for a better life for them. After getting a mysterious call about him being next of kin of a woman named Chelsea, Finn can’t believe it when it’s his Angel.
The story follows their romance and all the tragedy which has lead them to where they are now. There are quite a few triggers in this book which you are warned about before you start reading and they are hard subjects but as always Becky (the author) tackles them with great consideration.
The book has everything from heartbreak (the sobbing kind) to pure adoration. Adoration which is not contained to the two main characters but between Angel’s daughter (Charlie) and Finn. The love that emanates from Finn for both his girls is something that we all strive for.
With all this series the family (especially the brothers) make lots of appearances and it’s great because you get a real sense of their dynamics.

This is book three of this series and this series has to be read in order. Where do I begin? Well for starters let's just say holy hotness that requires a cold shower after. Finn knocked his brothers out of the running for a book boyfriend. My book boyfriend's requirements were checked off with every action and every dirty word that came out of his mouth. Let us not forget Angel and her strength. This girl had a struggle that you have no clue about but it intrigues you to where you are invested from the very first page. Once Finn found Angel again you get that alpha possessive man that will melt your panties. These two deserved their happy ending. Can we talk about that twist? If you have read Cal and Cons books then you know going in that she will rock you with her twist. I won't lie and say no I didnt cry while reading this because it wouldn't be true. In true BJ she tosses you an emotional curve ball and it gets you. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the others but sad that we are close to the end of this series.

I saw this book recommended by one of my book besties and I was SUPER excited to read it because of what she told me, but this ended up being a huge disappointment.
I was ready to DNF the book after the first sentence in the prologue (he was with a woman that wasn’t the fmc), but I forced myself to keep reading… which was a huge mistake.
First of all, our Mmc, Finn was horrible. Don’t get me wrong. I love a possessive Alpha-hole and yes he was both, BUT he was awful to our fmc, Angel. If he knew her better than anyone, why did he immediately think the worst of her and sleep with other people if she was his one and only? I mean it was clear as day that something terrible must’ve happened to her. Second of all, he traumatized her even more.
Now don’t even get me started on Angel. This girl NEVER stuck up for herself. She let Finn talk down to her and say a bunch of crap right to her face.. and she NEVER SAID ANYTHING. Like.. what the heck??
The only reason why this has 2 stars is because of the epilogue (I skipped down to that part lol) and some of the other characters. Other than that- I’d give it a 1 star.
I was ready to DNF the book after the first sentence in the prologue (he was with a woman that wasn’t the fmc), but I forced myself to keep reading… which was a huge mistake.
First of all, our Mmc, Finn was horrible. Don’t get me wrong. I love a possessive Alpha-hole and yes he was both, BUT he was awful to our fmc, Angel. If he knew her better than anyone, why did he immediately think the worst of her and sleep with other people if she was his one and only? I mean it was clear as day that something terrible must’ve happened to her. Second of all, he traumatized her even more.
Now don’t even get me started on Angel. This girl NEVER stuck up for herself. She let Finn talk down to her and say a bunch of crap right to her face.. and she NEVER SAID ANYTHING. Like.. what the heck??
The only reason why this has 2 stars is because of the epilogue (I skipped down to that part lol) and some of the other characters. Other than that- I’d give it a 1 star.

I ended mostly skimming this so I’m not comfortable with verifying full safety details. The story isn’t terrible but the writing is. The characters lack depth, the dialogue is cringeworthy it’s just bad. I wanted to like this so bad. This is my first time reading this author and I want to give her another chance but I’m not hopeful. She’s got a long way to go with her writing skills.

W O W!! I loved this book! I loved the characters! I loved the storyline! I loved the plots. I loved it all!!
What a story! If you like mafia, second chance love, possessive men, or angst, you need to pick this up!!
This was my first time reading a BJ Alpha book, and I’m already working out when I’m going to read more! She’s a brilliant author and really knows how to grip you. She definitely shows you the story rather than just telling it.
I loved how action-packed it was and how it started off fast-paced with a high adrenaline plot. I struggled to put this book down.
The chemistry between Finn and Angel was H O T! Like jumps off the page hot! The open door scenes in the book are very well written—they aren’t just there to spice up the storyline. (Even though they do.) The passion you feel between them is real, deep, and meaningful, and as much as the scenes are extremely spicy, their love is very real and can be felt throughout.🔥
I’m already excited to read more by BJ Alpha. I can’t wait to see what else she brings.

Well, well well! Firstly, I'm not a mafia fan, but can tolerate some darkness in my reading! I'm probably not the demographic who might usually be drawn to this book in other words.
BUT... that doesn't matter at all with this book! I was hooked from the start, wanting to learn more. I still haven't read the first book in this series but suspect I will rectify that now. This book was fast-paced and hella spicy! Finn was a little OTT at times, but he loved his woman with everything! Angel was an amazing character, a survivor in the truest sense of the word.
So yes, read the triggers from the amazing BJ Alpha, and there is some gratuitous violence that I may have read with one eye closed, but it did not take away from this great book!
Oh and, yeah, ARC and honest review and all that!

Another brilliant addictive book in BJ Alphas Secret and Lies series.
Book 3 of The Secrets and Lies Series, recently published and comes with many delicious trigger warnings.

He's adamant he's not letting her go this time, despite her not wanting him getting close to her again.
The plot was brilliant, secrets needing to be kept hidden. Twists and tales. I was so immersed in the story i read it in one sitting. Finn was delicious and everything I look for in a alpha male lead.

I was really excited to read Finn after reading Con, book 2. Finn just has this cockiness to him but you can’t help but love how protective & possessive he is. He wastes no time in finding and reclaiming his lost love and everything that comes with her. Angel is full of badassery and doesn’t just roll over & play nice no matter how much she still loves Finn and his family. She’s got an amazing friend that I’m hoping shows up again. BJ Alpha does not hold back on the spice between Finn & Angel. You won’t be disappointed one bit!! We don’t get as much time with the whole O’Connell clan, but they are definitely still very involved in each other’s lives.

Absolutely Amazing
I wish there were 10 stars for this book. I loved every single word. The pace is fast but the content won't allow you to stop. This book gripped me so much I was reading with one eye closed at some of the scenes as they are so well written they flipped my stomach. The spicy scenes are off the chart.

Omg this book broke me, then the next chapter had me laughing so much. Finn is such a protective sole he’s had his heartbroken and the love of his life has gone, nobody could replace her. With a twisted turn of events she’s back in his life but she’s so damaged plus she has a surprise with her. Can Finn get to the bottom of everything and will he get his family back? So many twists,turns,heartbreak and humour another great book from the series ooh and plenty of steam too !!!!!!!

First time reading this author. If over-the-top possessive Alpha type men are your jam then this is the book for you. It is most definitely gory and violent in parts. I was wanting more story than I got which is the only real reason that this didn't score higher.
The mystery was still there and there are unanswered questions so I will look for more from this author in the future.

Omg what can I say I was gripped from the start with Finn and Angel and everything that happened that keeper them apart. It just breaks your heart to find out everything that happen to Angel as from the start you could tell that they desperately loved each other with everything I read this book in a day as I could not put it down wanting to know what happened

I thought Con was outrageous but wow…
Let me tell you about Finn and Angel.
8 years ago Angel ran away. She changed everything about herself, her looks, her life, even her name. An accident lands her in the hospital and Finn receives a call as her emergency contact listed as her next of kin. He’s determined to punish her for running away and make her stay by any way possible, including putting a baby inside her.
Angel struggles with PTSD and panic attacks that her 7 year old daughter Charlie is all too familiar with.
Finn vows to get justice for Angel when he learns that she ran away from a human trafficking situation, that he wasn’t the reason she ran away.
Learning about Charlie’s true parentage and the fact that there’s another half brother out there named Teddy is a twist I didn’t see coming.
I’m so glad Finn and Angel got their happy ending.

This book was so good! I read it as a stand-alone before the first three books and had no issues following the characters. The male MC’s dedication and conviction in his actions and choices despite understanding very little about the nightmare that occurred was such a pleasant reading experience.

These O’Connell boys just keep getting better and better
When I first started this series… I have to admit that I wasn’t quite prepared for Cal and the O’Connell family. They are a little… shall we say, unconventional. By the end of the book though, I was in love. But then there was Con… and I fell even more in love with him. And that story broke me. I sobbed and sobbed because it was such an emotionally moving read.
Now, BJ Alpha has given us Finn!! And Oh. My. Goodness… he is absolutely on fire. Hotter-than-the-freakin’-sun hot!! Ok… so he has his dark side… the brutal part of him that thrives on exacting justice on those who have sought to deceive or bring harm to their family. His skill at ‘finn-finishing’ is gruesomely poetic.
From Con’s story we learn that Finn hadn’t been the same since the love of his life left suddenly, without a word whilst he was serving overseas. He’d been told she was living the high life across the other side of the country. No one he’s ever been with has ever compared to his Angel. The one woman he’s never been able to forget. The one would have his heart forever.
So when he gets a call from a hospital as the next of kin to a woman he’s never heard of, he’s shocked to discover that the woman is none other than his lost love. But she’s changed… she’s not the same blonde haired, green eyed innocent girl. Piercings and tattoos adorn her once untouched skin and there’s an edge to her that Finn didn’t expect.
But even after eight years… his feelings haven’t changed. The lust, the physical attraction, the love is still there and now he’s found her, there’s nothing that will stand in his way to keeping her. Even the discovery of Angel’s daughter, Charlie doesn’t dampen his enthusiasm to provide Angel and Charlie with the family he feels they’ve been deprived of.
But as they start to rebuild their lives together it becomes apparent to Finn that the changes in Angel have been from something that has devastated her life and when it becomes clearer that the person behind her abrupt disappearance was someone too close to home, Finn and his brothers must take action before more despicable acts and further harm can be inflicting on innocent victims.
There are quite a few horrific tropes and plot lines that might be a trigger for some, and it can get quite heavy in places, so heed the trigger warnings at the beginning of this book. However, it is very well written and whilst it is hard to stomach or imagine, it is also thought provoking and respectfully addressed.
What I love the most about this book is Finn’s obvious love for Angel and the way that he immediately takes on the role of father to ‘his Princess’, Charlie - even knowing that she isn’t his daughter by blood… she is his daughter by pure love.
What happens also brings the brothers closer as they fight together to bring down the perpetrators of Angel’s abduction. But the truths the fight unearths rocks the family to the very foundation and I’m very interested to find out what is going to happen following the revelations at the end of this book.
As my title suggests, these books do just keep getting better. And I do strongly suggest reading the books in order because building up the storylines and the understanding of each of the characters unique traits. And with each book, I fall in love with each of the brothers just a little bit more.
With each book, BJ’s writing gets more confident and you can really feel that confidence as the story builds. Well done BJ from a fellow swans cygnet. You really are spreading your wings.

I’ve read 87% of this book because I couldn’t stand it anymore. I feel like there might be something going on with his dad, but I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to finish it.
In my opinion, this book lacks in story. Really, I’m soooo tired of reading the main characters having sex all the time (they even got excited while her 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER was on the SAME BED as them). 90% of the time they are doing it, there isn’t even a scene of them eating together. The nearest we’ve got was when they went to restaurant and Finn (m mc) kicked some guy’s ass in the toilet (but this was only to make him look bad, I don’t see their relationship developing at any point of the story). Also, this mafia thing is not working for me either. Everything is so unreal, I think the author should (at least) watch some mafia movies to make the story better. The m mc is from a family gang but their plans are so childish, so unreal. Their behavior is also not convincing to me. The mc wants so much to look bad and all, but it’s not working. I don’t know, maybe it’s because the mafia stories are also lame. I wanted to see real plans when going after the “bad guys”, but it was so simple, so easy. I didn’t buy it, to me, it was super childish. In addition, the mcs relationship is just… I can’t even describe it. *** Spoilers**** Apparently the mcs knew each other since a long time and dated and loved each other. The girl had to leave him bc she was r@ped by his uncle (who’s also in the mafia business) and got impregnated by him. After 8 years, he found her in the hospital and discovered that she had a baby girl. But nothing, and I mean it, NOTHING mattered to him. Yes, this terrible mafia man didn’t care if she cheated on him or anything, he was REALLY soft for her and accepted everything. And this summarizes the story: they have a lot of sex, then have sex again, and again, he finds out she has some traumas, then they have sex, have sex, and have sex, he discovers who did this to her, kill the guys, and have sex again. There’s nothing more to the story. We don’t know how they met, we don’t know why they are so in love, we just have to “accept” that they love each other without having any additional information or demonstration of it without being aggressive and possessive and/or without having sex involved. Sorry, I really didn’t like it.
