I love it when I start a book and immediately connect with the characters. I did this here. A very good story, with great characters make for some pleasant reading. I finished this one in less than a day. Mindy Obenhaus has fleshed her characters out very well here and included a sweet spiritual thread that we could all learn from. It was completely delightful and I enjoyed every single minute.

My thanks to the author and publisher for a copy of this book. The opinion here is my own.

A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN is the second book in a new series, Hope Crossing and I loved every minute of it. The story takes place in Hope Crossing, Texas and Mindy Obenhaus describes it so beautifully that I am ready to pack my bags and go see it for myself. A Christmas tree farm and a hunky neighbor? Who wouldn’t want to go and see that? Yes please! Hawkins Prescott is back from Alaska and working on his family’s ranch. He discovers that the Christmas tree farm has trees planted on the Prescott land. He is going to put an end to that right away. A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN deals with so many different emotions that one minute I was giggling and the next tearing up. I love when an author can do that to their readers! Don’t you just love small town romance stories at Christmas?

Annalise Grant and her young daughter have moved to Hope Crossing to see the Christmas tree farm that was left to her late husband by his uncle. She plans to live there, start a new life for her daughter and run the farm while paying off the debt her husband left behind. A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN will surely pull at your heart strings and make it very hard for you to put down. If you are like me, you won’t be able to stop until you know what happens to all of these beautiful people in Hope Crossing. Reading how Annalise and Hawkins respond to each other is very funny since both are so stubborn and Annalise is determined to make it on her own with no help from anyone. Well, you know how that is going to go right? Is it possible for them to get a chance at love if they would just stop and listen to the other? I’m not going to tell you, but I will say that you really should read A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN and get to know this lovable small town. That’s all I can say!

A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN is an awesome way to spend the afternoon or evening. I’m so excited to continue with the series and learn more about my new found friends. Annalise and the Prescott family come to an agreement on those three acres that the trees are on and you would think everyone would be A-okay right? Not exactly! Annalise did quite a bit of research and thinks running the farm will be no problem! Once you start A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN you won’t be able to put it down and will find yourself cheering for everyone and little Olivia too as they try to navigate their way through a very different and unique situation. Be prepared to have Olivia steal your heart! Mindy Obenhaus will pull you in from the very first page and never let you go!

Oh, I am SO happy to be back in Hope Crossing for this second installment in the series, A Christmas Bargain. Y’all met Gloriana Prescott in the first book, The Cowgirl’s Redemption. Now meet her brother Hawkins, back home in Texas (from Alaska) to help tend the ranch while Glory and her new husband are on their honeymoon.
Hawkins is still reeling from being deceived and manipulated by a woman back up north, and vows to never let that happen again.
Enter Annalise Grant, the woman in front of him (with a sweet toddler daughter) in the grocery checkout line who seems to have lost her wallet. He steps in to pay, because that’s the kind of heart he has, but his now cynic nature is convinced it was intentional and she’s just like Bridget.
Next stop is the neighboring land to confront the owner, who seems to have stolen about 3 acres of Prescott land for tree planting. But who comes to the door? Yep, Annalise.
She’s inherited the farm from her late husband’s uncle, and is determined to open a Christmas tree farm. But because of how her parents and husband have treated her in the past, she’s also determined to not let anyone think her incapable of anything ever again.
Annalise and Hawkins’ family come to an agreement about those 3 acres, and as they work together, feelings develop between her and Hawk, feelings both of them try to squelch.
But what if the Lord brought these two together to heal hurts and hearts?
I read this in one sitting, and you will want to, also!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

Christmas tree farm alert! Why aren't there more Christmas tree farm stories out in the wild? It's my dream job...what could be easier than growing fir trees? Ha! Well, you might want to ask Annalise about that. I was amazed at all the work that goes into growing the perfect Christmas tree. Loved the farming details the author included in this novel. Makes me appreciate the trees (and the cost!) so much more.

I love the inheritance trope too. There's something deliciously exciting about the notion of being able to start fresh somewhere else with all the details already sorted. Easy peasy, right? Uh, again, you'd have to ask Annalise about that because it really isn't all smooth sailing. There are so many hiccups on her road to starting over and unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your POV) Hawkins is there for all of them.

Love the push/pull in their budding relationship. She's determined to stand her ground and be Miss Independence while he's a Rescuer with a capital R. There's some great dynamics going on between these two. Not to mention Miss Adorableness herself, little Olivia, who seems take have inherited her mama's independent streak. :-)

Heartwarming and Christmasy in the most perfect holiday setting of all!!!!

A powerful story about healing, forgiveness, and finding true love when it's least expected . . .

This second installment of Author Mindy Obenhaus's 'Hope Crossing' series is a strong follow-up to book one, 'A Cowgirl's Redemption.' This story involves the brother of the lead female from book one, Gloriana Prescott.

Hawkins Prescott is a highly-intelligent, thoughtful, and caring man who is struggling to recover from a hurtful, disastrous relationship with a woman he barely knew. When a lovely widow with a delightful baby girl moves to the property next to Prescott Farms, Hawkins is beside himself—for a couple of reasons which the author reveals in her own good time.

Annalise Grant is recovering from the unexpected death of her husband, Dylan, a year earlier. She and her sixteen-month-old daughter, Olivia, are moving to Hope Crossing, Texas, to live in the home her late husband's uncle left to her upon his own death a few months ago.

Annalise has big plans for the Christmas tree farm which is growing on the side of the property that adjoins with Prescott Farms. A land encroachment dispute causes sparks to fly when Hawkins confronts Annalise about the problem. However, she is a quick-thinker and suggests a solution that will mutually benefit both families.

There are many interesting facets of this plot including the development of the Christmas tree farm. I enjoy reading about how small business people take an idea from the dream stage to the planning stage to the launch of the business. I think readers will enjoy seeing Annalise's dream come to fruition.

I have read several of this author's books, and I find her to be a master storyteller. Not only does she include the big things in life in her books, she writes about the small things in life that lead couples to fall in love, causes families to draw together in tough times, and shows positive parenting techniques through how her characters relate to and treat their little ones.

The faith thread runs throughout the story and is presented in a positive manner. The main characters in this story grow and progress in their faith. This book is completely clean in language and content.

I received a copy of the book from the author as a member of her launch team. All of my opinions and thoughts shared here are solely my own.

Once again, we get to visit the wonderful town of Hope Crossing, Texas. This is book #2 by Mindy Obenhaus. I didn't think it could top The Cowgirl's Redemption, but A Christmas Bargain might have a slight slight advantage. I mean it is about a Christmas tree farm! Annalise Grant inherits a Christmas tree farm from her deceased late husband's uncle. She picks up and moves from Dallas along with her adorable baby girl to Hope Crossing intent on opening up the farm and making it on her own. Unfortunately her plans hit a snag when Hawkins Prescott discovers that the previous owner has planted 1/3rd of her trees on his family's land. A would be catastrophe turns into a fortuneous collaboration. Annalise strikes up a partnership with Hawkins and the rest of the Prescott family and Hope Crossing Christmas Tree Farm is born. Both get more than they bargained for when it's not only a successful business venture looming in the future!
I absolutely loved this book. I literally stayed up until 3am finishing it. It just made me happy reading about Hawkins and Annalise falling in love. If you need a Christmas story to help get you in the spirit then this one will. I know I've said it before, but I would love to live in Hope Crossing. The townsfolk really pulled at my heartstrings and made me fall in love with this small town. The epilogue made me swoon. I did cry some happy tears (but I don't think a book is good unless you cry a little lol). I can't wait to visit Hope Crossing again. If you are the fence about buying this book, just do it. I have a feeling if you love Christmas inspirational romance stories then you will love this one! I was given a copy by the author, but all opinions are my own!

A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN by Mindy Obenhaus is the second book in the Hope Crossing series. It’s the heart tugging story of Annalise Grant and Hawkins Prescott.

Annalise, a young widow, with a 16 month old little baby girl named Olivia, inherited a Christmas tree farm from her late husband’s uncle in the little community of Hope Crossing, Texas. Life had been hard after the death of her husband - especially after finding out that he had them up to their ears in debt. So much so that it took about all the insurance money just to get out of debt. Inheriting this farm seemed like the answer to a prayer – a new start, a way to make a living and to get her sweet daughter out of the big city of Dallas It has seemed that she was always been under the control of someone – first her parents and then her husband. Now she’s ready to take control of her own life. This is her chance to stand on her own two feet, make her own decisions and to make a successful living for the two of them.

Hawkins has a tendency to be tender hearted willing to help anyone in distress and at times somewhat gullible. But an experience with Bridget, his old girlfriend, taught him a hard lesson and one he’s not soon to forget. Oh she had batted her eyelashes, told him she had feelings for him and then hit him with a sob story and the needed for money to go along with it. He’d fallen for it hook, line and sinker. All he got for his efforts was him saying bye-bye to a bunch of his hard earned money and a crushed heart. He wasn’t falling for that again!

Annalise showed up in town to find she’s left her wallet at the last town she’d stopped in and had no money for gas to get back. What was she going to do? The first person she sees is Hawkins. While he might have been able to turn a blind eye to her problems, he couldn’t get away from Olivia’s sweet smile and think of her stranded so he pays for her small bill of groceries and paid for her gasoline figuring it would be the last he’s see of her and his money.

While running the property line of his family’s ranch, he notices that someone has moved one of the property fence lines. When he went to talk to the property owner, he’s surprised finds Annalise. He finds out she is the new property owner. To find out that her benefactor evidently had squatted his Christmas tree lot on the neighbor’s property, was a crushing blow to Annalise. Why had she thought this move was the answer to a prayer and a way to a fresh with a new start? Can she talk Hawkins and his family members into going into a form of partnership with her that would allow her to continue with her dream?

Will Olivia’s cuteness and innocence be the catalyst to bring two people together? Or will mistakes made by both parties widen the divide between them? Will Hawkins desire to care for and do for Annalise have him making some of the same mistakes her parents and husband made? Can Annalise start to see Hawkins through clear eyes not clouded with visions of Dylan mistakes? While it may take a village to raise a child, could it be that it takes a community to make a successful Christmas Tree Farm? Will it make Annalise’s heart warm to see how the community rallies around her after a storm almost blows her dreams away? Can Annalise and Hawkins get over the events of their past in order to trust those of the present in order to hope for a future?

A CHRISTMAS BARGAIN is a fabulous read – at Christmas or any time of the year! Mindy Obenhaus created a story of sorrow, failures and heartbreaks and weaves it with friendship, community, a thread of faith and love to delivery an absolutely wonderful Christmas story while reminding us that through hard work, working together, never giving up and having faith that dreams can come true and anything is possible. Most definitely a FIVE STAR book that I would highly recommend to everyone to read now, during the holidays or any time for a delightful reading time.

The first book in this series was so good that I thought nothing could top it. I was wrong! This book has such great characters and a wonderful story line that it is equally great as that first book! I always love when previous characters show up in the next book and that happened here too. To me, it helps the future books flow better.
Annalise and her sweet toddler daughter, Olivia, find themselves at a crossroads. They need to leave Dallas and start over after her husband dies unexpectedly. Her husband's uncle leaves them a Christmas tree farm! I was impressed at how much research she did on how to make this business work! The uncle was just starting this business when he died himself, so it wasn't an established business. It's also in a very small town but Annalise soon learns that this town takes care of their own and rallies around her to help in many ways. Hawkins and his family own the land next door (and there is an issue with the boundaries that gets them involved right off the bat!) which soon has all of them working the farm together. I loved Hawkins and Annalise's relationship. It was natural and sweet. I especially enjoyed the fact that when they hit bumps in the road, it didn't turn into big "mountains", but they worked things out quickly! A great holiday story with a true meaning of the season.

I am a big fan of books by this author. This novel has so much going for it. It will pull at your heart strings. I really enjoyed going along with Hawkins and Annalise as their relationship goes from one of cautious skepticism to one of enjoyment and possibly romance. I also love the interactions of Olivia with her mom, Annalise, and the entire Prescott family. She adds a real bright spot in this story no matter what is going on. Also I absolutely love that this takes place on a Christmas tree farm in an inviting town where people help people. And speaking of the town, I am a big fan of its name of Hope Crossing.

I absolutely adored A Christmas Bargain by Mindy Obenhaus! With all of the Love Inspired books I read, I would have thought I'd already read books by Obenhaus, but I have not! This is the first book of hers that I've read, but it definitely won't be the last! A Christmas Bargain is the second book in The Hope Crossing series, but as with other Love Inspired books, you can read this without having read the first book; though, having "met" the main character of the first book makes me want to read it too!

Annalise hasn't had an easy life, but when she inherits her late husband's uncle's Christmas tree farm, she thinks things are turning around fother her and her baby daughter. However, shortly after she arrives, she learns that the uncle encroached on the neighboring ranch's land. And she learns it from Hawkins Prescott, the handsome, but angry neighbor.  The Prescott family and Annalise agree to a partnership, From there, both friendships and romance begin. Ups and downs happen. There are triumphs, and there are tragedies. And it is all marvelous!

A Christmas Bargain drew me in very quickly; and once I started reading, it was hard for me to put down! Love Inspired books differ from other clean romance books in that they are faith based too. Through the struggles the characters face, their faith is strengthened. Both Annalise and Hawkins have trouble trusting anyone because they've been hurt in the past. Just when it seems that they have overcome their trust issues, something pops up and the past comes tumbling back. Finally their faith and trust in God heals their wounds and thus their blossoming relationship.

The wonderful characters and faith-filled love story, make A Christmas Bargain a must-read this Christmas season. I highly recommend it!

This is another great book I just read. A widow inherited a tree farm. Will she be able to make a go of it or totally fail as her parents think she will. She has a small daughter too. This takes place in Texas. Last year was the first time we went to a Christmas tree farm here in Texas.

I loved this book. Mindy Obenhaus created the small town of Hope Crossing, where the people are genuine and it makes you wish you could really go visit the tree farm. I love how she gives depth to her characters... their flaws make them even more relatable.

I haven't read the first book in the series yet, but that is now next on my list!

A heartwarming romance set on a Texas Christmas tree farm.

Annalise Grant falls in love with her inheritance of a small Christmas tree farm, and is willing to put in the hard work to make it a success to support herself and her young daughter. A property dispute adds another hurdle for the single mother, can her handsome neighbor win her heart?

A wonderful read set in Hope's Crossing just in time for Christmas, familiar faces make an appearance, but completely enjoyable as a stand alone. Hawkins has been hurt before, but he can't deny the fact this beautiful neighbor and her daughter are quickly finding a place in his heart. Olivia is so cute and I loved how she takes to Hawkins.

Overall, this was a lovely Christmas romance that brought a smile to my face. I liked that both Hawkins and Annalise were both faithful Christians, and that they got a second chance at finding love. I especially liked how supportive Hawkins was of her, even though he was cautious at first. A highly enjoyable read with characters that you can root for!

Annalise Grant and her adorable daughter, Olivia, move to Hope Crossing for a fresh start. She's determined to see her dream of running a Christmas tree farm come to pass. However, there are obstacles in her way. It seems that some of the trees are on the neighbor's property.
Hawkins Prescott, just home from Alaska, isn't happy when he discovers that someone has moved his fence line. When he approaches Annalise with the issue, she suggests they team up and share the income from the tree farm.
As they work together they begin to have feelings for one another. Can they overcome the hurts of the past and give their budding relationship a chance?
This is a sweet love inspired romance with great character development and a wonderful flow to the story. You will love your time in Hope Crossing.

This book was so sweet. I felt like I was reading the plot for a festive Hallmark movie, and I mean that in the best way possible. Annalise was such a strong character and a great mom, and Hawkins was swoon worthy and so kind. I loved the family dynamic and the small town vibe, and throwing in the holiday element made it perfect!

A Christmas Bargain is the second book in the Hope Crossing series. You can easily pick it up and enjoy it even if you haven’t read the first book, A Cowgirl’s Redemption. Since I had read the first book, I was thrilled to see those characters return in this story as side characters.

I really liked Hawkins and Annalise. They both had things from their pasts which affected their decisions in this story, as well as their ability to trust others. I loved the way Hawkins’ family immediately embraced Annalise and her daughter, Olivia. And even though he tried to fight it, Hawkins was continually drawn to the mother and daughter.

These two had their ups and downs, but both of them really grew a lot emotionally through this novel. This book was an uplifting Christmas story and a sweet read to enjoy this Christmas season.

Absolutely fabulous second venture into Hope Crossing by Mindy. In this instalment we meet widow Annalise Grant who inherited a Christmas tree farm and wants to build a legacy and second chance for herself and her daughter. Unfortunately she has a few stumbles along the way but meets Hawkins Prescott (older brother of Gloriana) who himself is reeling from a recent bad relationship so is now determined not to let anyone walk all over him as his ex did. Discovering that some of the land and trees belong to the Prescott family, Annalise and Hawkins work together and find themselves falling for each other. I loved the idea of a Christmas tree farm, I love the small community and the natural way that Annalise and Hawkins fell for each other and healed together. I’m so excited to visit Hope Crossing again soon.

This is another great book by Mindy Obenhaus. There is just something special about her stories.

Annalise is a young widow with an infant daughter. She feels that her husband and parents all treated her as if she weren't capable of much so when she inherits a Christmas tree farm, she's determined to make it a success all on her own. She has more than one unfortunate run-in with Hawkins who comes to her rescue time and time again.

I loved the single mom aspect of the story! I liked that Annalise was trying to prove that she could stand on her own two feet. I liked that Hawkins was wary of women due to his most recent experience with one. Both Annalise and Hawkins had to let go of their pasts to fully appreciate each other. I loved how Hawkins' family embraced Annalise and her daughter even before Hawkins did. It was so romantic to see Hawkins realize he was in love with Annalise and be nervous about revealing his feelings to her.

If you like contemporary, inspirational romance, you won't want to miss this book.

This is the 2nd book that I've read in the Hope Crossing series. I enjoyed this one more than the first. The characters are so believable, as country farm neighbors have been willing to pitch in and be helpful. When Annalise brings her little girl to a Christmas Tree farm, she doesn't know what she's getting in for. She's done a lot of reading about farming Christmas Trees, but has no experience and hasn't driven the machinary on the farm.

The man whose farm is next to hers is very interested in Annalise because someone in the past has moved the property fence, stealing 3 acres of his farm. She is confronted and offers to collaborate to share the profits. Hawkins and his gracious family help her so that the Christmas Tree Farm is ready for the Christmas Sale. Annalise and Hawkins really like each other, but because of lost love's in the past can't seem to be open to romance.

Will a terrible storm that destroys Annalise's barn be the last straw?

This easy to read clean romance is charming and has many Christian references in it. I didn't want to put it down, because I wanted to see what would happen next to the sympathetic main characters. This is a great little book to read during the Christmas season or anytime, because of the never-ending lessons to be learned.

A Christmas Bargain by Mindy Obenhaus is the second book in her Hope Crossing series.

A Christmas tree farm, Christmas, and a sweet little baby — what’s not to love about this book! Annalise is a strong woman who has a lot thrown at her. Her past has stunted her ability to trust the kindness of those who offer help. Hawkins, who we met in the first book in the series, The Cowgirl’s Redemption, has returned home. He has no interested in helping Annalise, but when trouble keeps finding her, he can’t not help her.

I loved how a series of unfortunate events kept throwing those two together. As if the world (or Providence) was playing matchmaker. Of course, neither was interested, but the longer they spent together, the more a Christmas romance was in the air. The author did a wonderful job of slowly building the romance and, even when things looked dire between them, she’d laid the groundwork for a lovely conclusion.

If you love a good Christmas romance, then definitely grab a copy of A Christmas Bargain. One caveat. I would suggest reading The Cowgirl’s Redemption first because A Christmas Bargain does contain a spoiler. It’s also a chance to meet Hawkins and I think you’ll begin to like him from that first book—and hope for his happily ever after—just like I did.

As the story begins, we meet widowed mother Annalise Grant in the midst of one of those days – moving to a new place, have to get groceries to have dinner but the baby is fussy, can’t find the wallet, and on it goes. Can it get worse? After a kind stranger steps in the help, she finally begins to settle into the Christmas tree farm she just inherited. She is in love with the idea of independence, strength, running a business, and all the other things that her new life will bring to her. And then…

A property line is found to have been moved and it just happens that the kind stranger is part of the family whose land was taken in the fence line moving. How does Annalise handle it? Can she just let the land go, even knowing it was wrongfully taken? If she does, will she be financially ruined without those trees to sell? Can she come up with a bargain that the family will accept and work through this so that everyone will benefit? Will this end up being a holiday blessing?

I really did find this an enjoyable, just-what-I-needed read. It was clean (and by that I mean no language, no “situations”, just a few kisses) and I really appreciated that part of it. I don’t like calling this a romance because these days that leads to an unsavory idea, even among many “Christian” writers. This story, though, was truly clean. I enjoyed the ebook copy that I received. I was able to sit back and just bask in the family joy that was found within the covers.

I loved the gumption of Annalise. She didn’t back down from a fight and she stood up for herself and what she needed. However, she was soft enough to allow others into her heart, and her daughter’s life, right away. She was embraced by them and they embraced her idea for the farm. I thought this was a beautiful set of relationships that modeled love, friendship, and respect among women so well.

I also loved that Hawkins was a good guy. And not just the proverbial “good guy” but one who stood by his word, helped out those in need regardless of the past/situation, and respected those around him. (Not to mention that he had a soft spot for the baby.) This is somewhat rare in stories, so Hawkins was a breath of fresh air for a leading male character.

I love this heartwarming story about Annalise a widowed single mother. She moves to hope crossing hoping to start a new life. Annalise's late husband's uncle left her and her precious sweet baby a Christmas tree farm. She runs into some problems along the way but she's tough and want give up especially with Hawkins Prescott helping her. I love this story of hope faith and love.
