A family heirloom opens the door to an empathy that slowly poisons a grieving daughter—who, try as she might, cannot take it off her finger.

An experimental piece of medical tech gives a cancer survivor the power to speak her mind. Or is she slowly losing it?

Erased. Abandoned. Unremembered. From their dusty high shelf in a long-neglected section of the evidence locker, a gang of unreported rape kits make a desperate break for freedom.

Settle in for three novellas of cursed objects and the blight they spread to those who would dare try to break them. These tales will chill your blood as the night draws on and the shadows creep closer along the floor. Perhaps, they may even whisper your name to join them in the dark…

I was very interested in these tales - “Found and Lost” and “M. O. U. T. H. Piece” were the first two stories with very interesting concepts. I wish they could have been longer - but then again I think writing shorter stories is SUPER difficult, so bravo to the authors!

“Joyride” was my favorite story though, and I entirely credit that to the longer length. I got invested in the characters, their odd existence, their motivation…. Just like regular people living after trauma, only as cardboard rape kits. An odd premise, but it paid off handsomely - especially the ending, where we finally see the true, non-rape kit narrator. Highly recommend!
