I received this devotional last Christmas, and read through it during the course of this year (2024). Not every day, just when I felt like adding it in during my personal quiet and scripture time.

If you’re familiar with Sarah Young’s writing style (the Jesus Calling format), this is very similar. So similar that I felt that the devotionals were the same as the actual Jesus Calling original devotional (which I also have). Although this is marketed “for moms”, the devotionals weren’t specific at all to motherhood, which was a little bit disappointing.

On the positive, it does make for a great gift. Nice padded hardcover, pretty artwork, and ribbon bookmark. Although I didn’t write in this, it did have a space for “prayers for my children” every few pages.

All in all, I did enjoy it and would give it at as a gift. The devotionals are short, which makes it approachable. I’m glad I read through it and had it available this year.

Sarah Young reminds mothers to slow down and sit in the quietness with the Lord, to pray for our children, and allow Him to work in our lives, especially during those high stress times when our world's are busy and full of chaos, and to lean on God's word in those difficult times. This is another beautiful devotional by Sarah.

This book was a beautiful collection of other Jesus Calling devotionals with scripture focusing on being a Mom and raising children. I liked the prayer journal pages included throughout the book. This is a great Mother’s Day present and one that I loved.

I didn't love the tone of the writing, but still enjoyed doing the devotional every morning. Also, the only part that's "for moms" is the section to write a prayer for your children. I was wanting the devotional aspect to be directed towards parenting, but it wasn't.

Small format gift book with a soft, padded cover, full color end papers and a collection of scripture and inspirational musings from author, Sarah Young.

Sarah turns the focus of this iteration of “Jesus Calling” to a batch of scriptures especially for Mom’s. Many contemporary translations are used with New International as the primary, (any scripture not noted is NIV), others include: Amplified, New King James, Holman, New Living, Messenger, New American Standard and English Standard, each with their respective abbreviations.

I wouldn’t really call this a book of devotions, it’s more a collection of contemplations. Young took passages of scripture and reworked them into personal applications, remembrances, warnings, exhortations. Sprinkled thru the book are 14 lined pages called “A Prayer for My Children”.

My youngest sister is still raising 2 teenage girls and this type of book is just perfect for her hectic lifestyle. There’s no chapters, no specific order and it can be read in 2 minutes at a time or 2 hours. Whatever your specific needs are at any moment, “Jesus is Calling for Moms” can be a welcome companion📚

I love any type of Jesus Calling book by Sarah Young and when I found out about Jesus Calling for Moms I knew I had to read it! Jesus Calling for Moms is a fantastic, inspirational book that follows the same set up as other Jesus Calling books. Each entry is written to us from Jesus' perspective to moms with supplemental Bible verses.. After a few entries there is a journaling section for the Mom to pray for her children. I highly recommend this book and plan on adding this book to my own personal library. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book! My review is also on Goodreads.

Jesus Calling Moms is definitely not just for moms. It’s suitable for anyone who needs some encouragement, needs a change of perspective, and needs to be reminded to slow down and remember God’s faithfulness and infinite love for us, despite ourselves. Life is hard and we are fallible, but He is faithful and present through it all. These devotionals are short, uplifting and themed around a Scripture verse with lovely additional photos adorning the pages.
