Alexandra's writing is stunning; she presents her material in a delicate and deft style, but with raw honesty, and with the bravery she asks for in the collection again and again. Gorgeous technique and riveting narrative; this one deserves your read!

This book was eye-opening. It gave me an insight into addiction and all that it takes from you. I thought the title "Raw" was the perfect fit. The way that Alexandra Miller infuses biblical allusion into her work is breathtaking. Furthermore, her journey from heroin addiction to believer was incredible to read. I hope more people come across this book and understand that life after addiction can be beautiful!

If poetry gives you images of peaceful beauty, this book will turn you around. Written with guts, feeling and full exposure, this author spares nothing of her life. Addiction in any form is destructive and Miller confronts all of them. Using visual imagery and impactful phrases, she pushes you to open your eyes and your mind.
