It is a sobering thought that the partnered curator of RHS Wisley finds himself a long term renter (I got the impression it's not by free choice) but it lends the book authenticity. It's a bit of a shocker that there aren't lots of books on this subject. I felt the book lacked a few really oomphy photos but otherwise it was great, addressing a variety of challenges in a positive yet realistic manner, and acknowledging the legitimate concerns of both tenant and owner (it didn't seem to have anything to say about letting agents, which perhaps it should have done) I am blessed to own my garden but there were plenty of useful ideas here for me too.

A very good resource. Good suggestions, lovely plant selections and photos. Good for even if you own your home.

A lovely little book for beginners. Nice suggestions, beautiful photos, and great ideas for gardening in rented (and often small) spaces.
