Spring Training

Rate this book
Spring may be a time for new beginnings, but she’d rather end the new doctor she’s supposed to train. Or use his arrogant smirk for batting practice. When she’s not busy rounding the bases with him, that is.

I’ve known I wanted to be an ophthalmologist since I was 8. Odd, you say? Focused, I’d argue. I put in the hard work, made the sacrifices, and now I’m in line to take over the practice I’ve always wanted.

When your baseball metaphor-spouting mentor brings in a new surgeon and asks you to train him, you smile and nod. Teamwork and all that crap. Except the “rookie” turns out to be the cocky bastard you loved to hate back in residency—emphasis on hate—and his presence now threatens every plan you’ve made.

So there might’ve been a hookup or two in a hospital supply closet years ago. No way am I repeating that mistake again. Even if Dr. Hotshot insists he’s up to the challenge of winning me over.

It’s the bottom of the ninth, time to swing for the fences. Yeah, I don’t really know what that means.

** Spring Training is Book 4 in the series, A Season’s Detour. It can be read as a standalone, but why wouldn’t you want to find out what happens to the rest of these awesome ladies? Sexy times heat 2-3/5. A light dusting.

Amazon bestselling author, Hayleigh Sol, believes love conquers all...

Eh, not so much.

In fact, I’ve always been a reluctant lover of romantic-comedies. The overly sappy ones just make my eyes roll; seriously, it’s like a reflex.

So, when I wrote my first book, what else would spill onto the page but a romantic-comedy with a lovably sassy female protagonist who was reluctant to give up her happy single life in exchange for a relationship?

I still write strong (even if they might not know it yet), independent heroines who don’t need a romantic relationship to be complete, and the sexy, sweet book boyfriends they find impossible to resist.

When I’m not writing or reading (my first true love), I’m hanging out with my own irresistible—I definitely tried to resist, let me tell you—book boyfriend turned hubby, who’s a big fan of “sweetie couch time”.

I know, cue the eye roll, right?

My favorite romance series delivers again!
Oooh, this one really starts spicy, with the two main characters at each other's throats! I loved the way this one started, the palpable hatred Lisette has for Shane. You just know from the beginning what is going to happen, but can't imagine how it's going to get there. It keeps you turning the pages! The fact that Shane was a threat to Lisette's career and future really upped the stakes and made the main character's position so much more stressful.
Much like "In The Off-Season," where the character was a pro tennis player, the research is top-notch. There was never a doubt in my mind that the main character was an experienced ophthalmologist.
I always leave a note about the writing. In this installment, I believe it is better than ever. Although not my favorite so far... maybe second or third after In The Off-Season and Summer Flare... I can't make up my mind... oh whatever...highly recommend it!

Another steamy and sweet romantic read

Yet again, Hayleigh Sol adds another spectacular installment to her Season’s Detour. Lisette is another strong, independent woman who fights against letting her true feelings show—and Shane is the perfect balance to her strong will. As I’ve happily read every book in this series, I love how different each main character is yet how they consistently come back to their strong friend base for advice and confessions. Great story—I’d say she hit this book out of the park…
