All 9 of the books in this series were fantastic. If you are looking to read mysteries and amateur sleuthing, this series is for you. Also, the main character of the book (Jo Pepperdine), as well as the residents on her farm all depends on God to help them through their troubles. There is praying at the dinner table and turning to the lord for advice. There are also 2 angels mentioned in each book which gives me the good kind of chills every time they appear. These giant men are Divine’s angels and they protect Jo’s land and the good people on it. Ain’t God awesome to send His angels?! Yes, he cares for us that much. I realize this series is not non-fiction, but I do believe in angels and I do believe God cares for us even when we don’t care for ourselves.

This series is different than any of the other mysteries and sleuth books I’ve read in the past in that not every book has a murder in it. Sometimes there is just a mystery and troubled times that fall upon Jo that she has to dig into to get answers. And each book (except the 9th) contains at least 300 pages which to me is really cool because I definitely didn’t want this series to end! What else is different about this series is that Jo owns a farm and houses women who have been recently released from the local prison. Jo is helping the ladies recover from being criminals to being people who can survive in society. She has a halfway house. So, this has definitely been different, because of course Jo has her challenges with the ex-criminals and with helping them get out into the world on their own.

If you want some positive reads, some Jesus and hope, some angels, some family and friendship, and some plain old goodness and the good guy winning in the end - you need to read this series! 5 stars!

Oh! I forgot! There is also romance added in here, too.

And the good girl wins, as it should be!

I LOVE this series. I pray that every deserving person is given a second chance born out of love for humanity. This story was a perfect mix of hope, love and mystery. I never thought of all the possible suspects that that one did it. Happy reading. I can't wait to try cheese pie! Sounds yummy!

Old secrets, old crimes

Joanna is considering expanding her farm, but an unexpected accident derails her plans. A troubled young woman comes back to town, and Jo finds herself having very conflicting feelings about her - should she help her find a way to peace, or steer clear to avoid being taken advantage of. Together with an old unsolved crime, Jo has her hands full.

Things That Go Bump In The Night

At last!!!! Another book in the Divine Series has been released and, once again, Hope Callaghan has hit it out of the ballpark!! Home Run!!!

A property close to Jo Pepperdine's property has become available and could be useful in expanding her farming potential. But when she drove out to meet the owner last one evening, something felt "off". On the property sat the remains of a family home which had burned to the ground...with all three residents still inside. Only Kelsey, the family's daughter who had not been home the night of the fire, survived. She had been suspected of starting the fire and had left town shortly afterwards. Now she was back in town to sell the property.

Jo did not see anyone around when she pulled into the driveway and decided to try again another day. She turned her SUV around to head back out of the driveway when a flash of pink caught her eye. Suddenly, a woman jumped out in front of Jo's moving vehicle and, before she could stop, thump! The woman had been struck!

This book starts fast right off and is a page turner right up to the end with more twists and turns that the old country road Jo was driving! This is book 9 in the Divine series, all of which are worthy of your time! The books are clean and wholesome and will leave you on the edge of your seat begging for more!!!!!!!

Another wonderful installment in the Divine mystery series

The more I read of this series, the more enjoyable it is. Set in fictional Divine, Kansas, the Divine cozy mystery series is rich with characters who feel like family and human interest that is highly relatable.

This particular story was a very quick read. Divine Fate features lots of action in the mystery itself. There's also some fast-paced fun in the unfolding story of a recently released resident who purchases an oversized vintage automobile that she can't quite drive.

Like all of the Divine mystery novels, this book has a spiritual side and includes some relevant Bible passages. The characters pray and frequently turn to God to ask for guidance. The religious aspect of this series never feels overdone or "preachy." It simply flows smoothly into the story.

The Divine cozy mystery series is a great read when you need a break from heavy stories or just want something uplifting. It's well written and deep enough to hold your interest, yet offers a down to earth, enjoyable tale.

Great addition to the series.

I have followed this series from the beginning. Hope Callaghan is one of my favorite authors.
There is always a mystery, and an adventure, involved in the Divine series.
The characters are a collection of personalities that keep each book filled with topics of interest, and discoveries of new insight concerning the farm, businesses, and progress of the ladies personal growth. The more you understand the characteristics of the residents, the more you become enamored with them.
I look forward to Book 10.

Without a doubt, Hope Callaghan has offered us yet another second chance. If you have not availed yourself an entry into Divine Kansas, give it a try. Jo has been accused of causing an accident. She is a true warrior for the downtrodden, so instead of bowing her head and accepting the accusations,
she has decided to find the culprit. Her "family" of released female prisoners join closer as they offer solutions. Jo is the type of woman we would want in our corner. Enjoy her recent adventure and her caring nature, as she finds the true answer to this mystery.

A fast paced holiday read with intriguing characters, including lots of drama and conflicts. Does money make people do strange things? Do blame and guilt go hand in hand? An emotional read revisiting Joanna Pepperdine’s past encounters with Divine’s angels. Divine Fate evokes anger, compassion, and suspense. Who dun it? This avid reader enjoyed how Hope Callaghan refreshes the reader memory about the delightful Show Me State setting and characters. Recipe for Chess Pie included.

I love this series. Joanna attempts to help a young woman who throws herself in front of Jo’s car one dark night, setting off a tangled string of events. This book has a wonderfully twisty plot, well drawn realistic characters and is expertly crafted…just as expected of Ms. Callaghan’s work. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to her next one.

Divine Fate

I enjoy the complete series and each book is better and more interesting than the one before. Joanna is a woman after my own heart.

Hope I truly enjoy all your books, The Garden Girls are my favorite because that is where I started following you. The Savannah series run neck n neck with the Divine series.

Keep up the good work

Another good book in the Divine series. Jo is going to look at a neighbouring property, the vendor is meeting her there. However, although her car is there, Jo can’t find the vendor anywhere. She turns the car around to head home, when a woman runs in front of her car and is hit. Who is this woman, and what will happen next?

a great clean mystery

I’ve enjoyed the continuing story of Jo and the rest of her cast. The mysteries are, mostly, fun and keeps you guessing. Many side stories that may or may not be the final answer.
It is hard to find books that are well written, interesting, clean and not full of politically correct comments.

Kept me guessing to the end

Divine seems to abound with trouble, or maybe Jo is the trouble magnet. Either way, trouble again came knocking in the form of an unsolved murder caused by an arsonist. It takes some time, but eventually Jo, with some help from her friends, solve the case. I love this Divine series from Hope Callaghan!

Best author ever

It still amazes me how Hope can write so many different stories about people in vastly different life styles and all be so very interesting. With every book I have a very hard time finding a stopping point and end up reading the next chapter then the next. I'm glad I am retired or I would never be to work on time. Thank You Hope.

Always a joy to read

I love the Divine series. They present a realistic picture of how troubles can refine our character and our outlook on life on earth. I’m so grateful to Ms. Callaghan for staying true to the Christian life and presenting in the stories how God uses troubles and suffering to mold us into the men and women of Christ.

Good Christian mystery

This a a good Christian mystery and continuation of the series. This is an entertaining book but I really found myself deeply disliking the antagonist Chelsea. The degree of dislike made me not enjoy this book as much as previous ones.

Wonderful Read

In today's time most books are filled with cuss words and sexual content. It's nice to be able to read a wholesome book that keeps you interested but also feels you with faith and peace. I recommend this to everyone.

Truly Divine

This series, like all of Hope Callaghan's writing is composed of likeable people. People who are not perfect. Folks who each have their own strengths and weaknesses. I enjoy getting to know each character.

What a divine place

Jo and her cast of characters can sure get into some pickles. This story is an example of how her kindness can be misconstrued. Yet the truth will prevail in the end.

I've enjoyed all of the books in this series and this one is no exception. I would advise reading them all in order to follow all the characters and how they grow throughout the series. The only thing I didn't like was the abrupt endings. They are a good clean read and very enjoyable.
