If you’ve read any my reviews you may have come across my intrigue with sheriffs. It’s a trope I’m fond of so I quickly added this book to KU.
Honestly, I’m not sure that I like either one of these characters, Bodie is quirky—she’s still young so I’ll let it slide. Ripton aka Rip (love his name) is a man’s man and I’m NOT mad at that—at all. Rip said a couple of things that raised my eyebrows. What I did love about Rip is his passion for Brodie. He never tried to hide her or their burgeoning romance and he didn't care who in his small town knew about them.
He’s NOT a caveman—he knows exactly who he wants, he doesn’t just take what he wants, he asks. I found both these characters to be odd, but they work together as an oddball, opposites attract couple. This is short novella with a cliffhanger and a heads up on that fact from the author would have been appreciated.
Just know that this author doesn’t have a good track record for writing the finale to her stories.

Rip and Bodie’s forbidden small town romance🖤😍🖤
This was my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed the fast paced darkish forbidden romance❤️🖤. Sheriff Rip and his new neighbor Bodie have a very intense attraction they fought against but you can only hold off for so long😉.
Bodie had issues with the guys in Blue and her mistrust and reservations😏 were very clear however it didn’t deter Rip from wanting her. There was no chance based on the way Rip pursued Bodie that she could stave off his advances and although she tried not to fall for him, she did😘😍. The reason their time together was interrupted was somewhat expected. It sucked how it further caused a riff in their new so-called relationship especially when Rip had other more pressing matter to attend to. Im def not a fan of Deputy Wade there is something about the guy that doesn’t sit right with me😑. Bodie’s relationship with her mom was more like friends and it seemed to work for them and glad she was able to share some wisdom😊.
There is something brewing in the town that’s going to be affecting both Rip and Bodie. I,m looking forward to what happens in this series👍🏽.

Record for me
Got to page 5 . As I have said before , I read romance to get away from the daily stuff that is shouted out for the world. I made it to page 5 and well that was as much as I could take .
Some of these writers write like they are using the romance theme to get whatever they believe is right or wrong out for all the poor souls that need to know . I guess some want to read someone else real world convictions...........😒😒😒
As for me , I know it will frustrate me so ill just put it down and forget about it.

Is there more?
I hope there is more to Bodie and Rip’s story. I didn't read the reviews as I wanted to form my own opinion about the book. I wish the author would have started this book ends with a cliffhanger. Then I would have waited to read the entire series. The book is set at a fast pace, and the relationship between Bodie and Rip moves quickly. So quickly that it's over before it starts. There aren’t any distinguishable timelines between the cabin and the end of the story to make her pregnancy revelation possible, in my opinion.

Great
I really liked this book and would recommend it. It would make a great movie or TV show. It had a good sexual storyline. I like the Law enforcement and bad girl angle.
Her mother was a fun one to help an older man by packing her daughter's overnight bag for what would become a first time sexual incounter weekend get away. LOL
I was glad that the smart mouth police officer was put in his place.

Stopped at 58% .
This book as many mistakes and the plot had a potential but unfortunately the author didn’t know how to interpret it and make it believable to the reader.
I would not recommend unfortunately not that great and frustrating.
I hope to encourage the author on her work: « good idea d’or a story, but try to work on the development of said storyline »

The sheriff and Bodie could set a place on fire with their chemistry , the retired soldier now sheriff has secrets… His pursuit of Bodie was relentless, his Honey Badger finally succumbed and sh** hit the fan… See what happened next! Oh, I am waiting as well because of cliffhanger 🥲

Nice story to read!
Dark and mysterious next door neighbor! Black woman who is smart, virgin and very naive make a dangerous couple! Loved the bw was going to college, educated mother, virgin and beautiful! I love these things in a story! Good read!

Wow!!
This really got good in the last couple chapters. But the typo's ...why??? All it would have taken was just proofreading. Its almost like someone speaking a different language was writing this book the way some words were phrased

When is book 2 coming. This was unputdownable. Nice quick, enjoyable experience. The characters were lively. The girl was a little angsty, but chalk it up to youth.
