He was taught to hate them. He trained to hunt them. Now one of them has claimed him.
For Obadiah Snod, nothing could be more shameful than surrendering to the bond of a vampire, let alone Francis Temple, the very one he has been pursuing. But the situation is dire and both of their fates hang in the balance. Trapped in a collapsed tunnel, Obe sees no choice except to give the handsome immortal the pleasure he requires to awaken his full strength and save their lives.
He can tell himself he didn't enjoy it. He can pretend their shared climax wasn't by far the most electrifying thing he has ever experienced. He can even try to drive such impure thoughts from his mind with the pain of the lash. None of it will change the fact that he belongs to Francis now.
Perhaps he has committed a mortal sin... but Francis is going to make sure it wasn't his last one.
Publisher's Note:Mortal Sins includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
This book is just.... anticlimactic for me. Nothing has happened. Love the sex parts but I’m okay with being fed with it but I don’t want to choke on it. Survived this all this way because I love this author so much. But nah I don’t want to push it more.
This book opens with a fast pace as Obe is hunting Frankie and the two of them get trapped. In order to tap into Frankie’s strength and have it transfer to Obe to save their lives, Frankie explains the options are to turn Obe into a vampire or “fuck.” And since Obe is certainly not going to allow himself to be turned into a vampire, he gives up his virginity in order to save his life. The sex with these guys starts fast and furious, but it all came off as mechanical to me and not as hot as I was being told it was. The men then become bonded, which is supposed to be temporary. Obe has such guilt and conflicting emotions that he then confesses his sins to the leaders of the Order and Obe and Frankie’s story moves on from there.
The story had a lot of good elements initially with the men being adversaries, but that was really in name only. Obe soon learns that everything he has been taught is false. The Order is like every other organization that has taken that name and it felt overused and tired. The Order was presented as a cult where Obe couldn’t leave and was brainwashed to a point of not wanting to leave and also not questioning anything in his life. It then opened up questions for me as to how he then transitions to being with Frankie so easily.
Points for being published for sure. I think this could’ve been 2 books. Overall I enjoyed the authors world building. I wasn’t so convinced that Snod was as bad as he was supposed to be. Loved Rees and I couldn’t breathe because I laughed so hard when he and Snod went to get the desk!
Even though this book had an underlying dark theme to it, It was very humorous, romantic, thought provoking and entertaining. Obie the vampire hunter grew up in the "Order" believing vampires are all evil until he met the very charismatic vampire Frankie. There first meeting was hilarious and I just loved their banter with each other. After they shared blood and was intimate they had a bond. Their relationship wasn't considered all that serious in the beginning but the more they were around each other and gotten to know each other their feelings grew into something deep and wonderful. Their intimate times where HOT and romantic. Obie began to wake up and change his beliefs and it was all because of that wonderful vampire Frankie. This book had very intense moments with unforgettable characters. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it!

Finally.....something I enjoyed. It made me laugh, horny, curious and engaged throughtout the entire book. I loved that Snod's character wasn't......one minute "I hate vampires" to "I'm sleeping with one & I love it." I like that he struggled with his situation and actually felt guilt in both regard, concerning Frankie and The Order. Also didn't expect to enjoy Athaliah's presence as much as I did......I loved him. Another thing I enjoyed were the moments between Snod & Lorenzo, those cracked me up each time. So considering the rut I've been stuck in since entering 2020, this was a breath of fresh air.
I love vampire books. This one is definitely a favourite. I wasn’t expecting the snarky humour at all. Funny, sexy, a bit of angst to round it out. Their chemistry is hot! Never feeling gratuitous it is an exploration and discovery of sexuality, learning that love is not a sin. Thoroughly enjoyed and Rees is one of my fave secondary characters ever!! So funny
I have to wonder what Frankie saw in Obe, in the beginning, that led him to giving the hunter a second chance. That was never really clear, in my mind, but it was beautiful that he did, and that Obe took advantage.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. I could not put the book down, from start to finish you just could not get enough, it left you wanting more. Twists and turns with emotions that makes you want more. The chemistry between them is intense hot and steamy. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

This is an intense story line that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and turns and hot chemistry. Lots of excitement. A thrilling must read, every page will have you enthralled and panting for more.
K.L. Hiers has quickly become a one-click author for me with Mortal Sins. (Was so happy for a sophomore release after Cold Hard Cash.) Firstly, although the title states that it's a dark romance, I truly felt like it more of an action-filled Rom-Com. This is probably the best vampire MM romance I've read that's reminiscent of the old (pre-twilight) bodice-ripping, angsty, passion-filled MF romances. It had everything from enemies to lovers, first-time gay, heat, action, tear-jerker moments, oh and three(!!!) HEAs! I'm definitely a fan of the fluidity of the author's writing style as well.
I really loved this book. Obe and Frankie are great together and I loved watching them grow together as a couple and Obe's battle to overcome the teachings of his childhood. The supporting characters were hilarious.
All I know this book had everything.. Humor, good story line and most of all it was really interesting.. I would differently recommend it. You would enjoy it very much.
I’m a lifelong vampire fan, and I especially appreciate when writers take some liberties and mold the lore into something new. This did not disappoint! I love the twisting together of feeding and sex and humanity (with a vampire’s heart beating again for a while at climax and making their blood more potent). I love the sweetness of Frankie the vampire and the absolute ass that Obe the vampire hunter can be most of the time – even when he’s clearly fallen in love/lust from the start – and how the two come together. I LOVE the side characters. I love the way the plot progressed and wrapped up and still managed to surprise me at times when I thought I know where things were headed. The heat and the action were equally intense and fulfilling too. But most of all, I think I loved how where I thought the story would end… wasn’t. Without giving spoilers, there’s this sort of natural ending point that any other writer might have chosen, because it’s expected and easier, but Hiers keeps going beyond that point to show that even a supposed ‘happy end’ is going to require work. If you love vampires, really intense and awesome heat on the page, and pleasant surprises where you least expect them, this is a great read.
I liked this book. The story was good, a slightly different version of hunter falling for the vampire. I loved Frankie, he was just so good, a bundle of sunshine that everyone was drawn to even though he was a vampire. Liked Snod a little less, but was touched by how tortured he was being raised by the cult like order. I really did not like the character names though. Snod sounds like something being hacked up the throat of falling out of the nose, it was distracting. The ending battle against the order and Frankie's maker was great, as well as the love between Frankie and Snod (also revered to as One which was slightly better) These two things redeemed the book for me. Overall a cute story.
I enjoyed reading this story about Frankie and Obe, how they learned to live together, fall in love and overcome all the untruths Obe had been taught at the hands of the Order, a religious, vampire killing cult. I loved Frankies friends who also became Obe’s friends. Love conquers all. I would definitely recommend
Um...no. Is it just me or are MCs getting stupider and stupider? On the other hand, I'm so sick of brainwashing, considering we see it everywhere in our daily lives. And most people don't even know they're constantly fed wrong information or how they push it on others. This is an example of the ignorance of hate crimes, done by indoctrinated and purposely misled people. Sorry, but if the writing was better, I might have actually read it and see the MC's growth. But it was mostly smut (from what I read in the first chapters) and the MC sounded like a 5y.o., with the according temper tantrums and attention deficit (distraction issues).
It's a really good story. The characters are great and the plot is solid. I do wish more time was spent editing, as there are parts that move way too fast, people agreeing to things faster without having enough knowledge or familiarity with each other to agree to help each other out. But I did appreciate that most of the bits that seemed like plot holes were explained well and tied things up fairly well. The love between the characters is really well described. It's a very spicy book, which I enjoyed.
This author is new to me but I DNF this book unfortunately. I couldn’t relate to the characters or take them seriously. Nothing seemed to be happening and I felt there was no chemistry between the MC despite the amount of sex in the book. Sorry, I’m sure others will find this book to their liking.
This book has two things that I usually find oddly lacking in romance/erotica: it's hot, and it's fun. I'd definitely agree with other reviewers that this is more action/adventure/romcom than dark romance. Right from the start, it's a pacy, action-driven plot that's familiar enough (ancient order of vampire hunters, starcrossed lovers) to have the feel of a good, old-fashioned adventure movie (but with smokin' porno scenes), but original enough (I won't spoiler, but there were elements of lore and 'science' that I really loved) to remain interesting. It also actually has an overarching plot, with enough peril to make you invested in the characters. Mainly, though, it's those characters who make this book. Whilst some of them range from awful to infuriating (basically everyone who's ever been in the Order) it's interesting to see their progression (or not) and I came to like characters I initially very much disliked. Snod is a particularly interesting protagonist, as he's never sugar-coated and is still behaving in a pretty objectionable manner right til the end of the story, but that's what makes him three dimensional and convincing- he changes, a lot, but is never 'magically fixed' and those changes come at a slow rate and with a price. All in all, a fun and satisfying read with a great cast of likeable characters and an abundance of excellent sex scenes.
Jumps right in and starts with a bang, pun completely intended. I like when the world-building is woven into the plotline seamlessly like this, avoiding info dumps. I don't read tons of paranormal romances but this is KL Heirs so I knew it was gonna be kinky in just the way I like. It's about 2/3rds sex scenes, which is perfect, lol. I totally geeked out on the hypothetical vampire science microbiology, super good stuff, well-researched. And then there's the gloriously funny secondary characters who are just as loveable as the MC's. There's just enough humor to offset the angst, and the rest is stuffed with dirty vampire porn and fight scenes. Really couldn't ask for a better conclusion either, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
