This true story reads like a high-action novel beyond the imagination of any movie director. A murderer on an inescapable mission from God follows a pattern he cannot prevent with a destiny God will not deny...Dozens of attempts on his life span three decades of road-trip missions before, even as a "successful Christian," he decided he will take his own life...
First published in 1977, this book came into my hands from my grandparents' bookshelf. It was difficult to read of the verbal and physical abuse suffered by Ron at the hands of his father, as well as the violence he in turn perpetrated on others. But I was amazed the most at how he came into the kingdom… That his family and their church would pray in another room for a stretch of ten hours until he got saved (and then baptized in the Spirit and healed of a chronic back problem all in one sitting) greatly challenges me.
I would've liked to have heard what happened with the rest of his gang, whether further threats were made on his life or if he ministered to and won any of them as well. It seems from Ron's story and other people whom I know personally that so much was going on in the 1970s…the Lord was really stirring, despite the darkness of that decade. It gives me hope for an even greater outpouring today.
