Being ignored her whole life, Maisie Hendry wants to be set free. Yet, she is stuck in the middle of the crossfire of another war between her father and the Laird of Barclay. But when Laird Barclay kidnaps her, she never thought an enemy’s arms would feel so good… Kidnapping the daughter of his enemy isn’t the smartest move, but the anonymous letter Lucas McCormack received was clear both he and Maisie are in great danger. And he is the only one who knows how to protect her. Stuck for days with only Lucas for company, Maisie realizes that this Highland brute might be a better man than anyone she has ever met. As their passion warms them at night, their enemies gather closer and closer… And they soon realize that ‘divide and conquer’ worked a little too well…
Kidnapped by her Highland Enemy is a steamy Scottish historical romance novel of 60,000 words (around 300 pages). No cheating, no cliffhangers, lots of steam and a happy ending.
Action packed ending! I wonder is being kidnapped really a smart way to start a romance? Well for Maisie it seems that just may be the case. This highland historical has it all plus it was such a good book to spend time with. If Lucas is the hunk on the cover fate has been rather nice to Maisie. I loved the twists in the story there is suspense, action, and intrigue to grab the reader’s attention.
There was a spark immediately between Maise and Lucas but I enjoyed watching both of them get beyond the spark to a beautiful love story. I thought the animosity between both fathers was humorous. I did not like the maid, Heather at all and expected her to be part of the evil plot and was disappointed that she and Maise reconciled. Overall I loved the story and thankful for the epilogue to see how Maise and Lucas fared after everything.
A well written fast paced story of Maisie and lucas, their clans were at war for years, but in their midst was someone jealous of them both and was always trying to fuel the animosity between the two clans, in so doing love between the two was born. An excellent read.

I enjoyed this novel. Imagine being kidnapped, but from from your bath in the loch! That is where Maisie Hendry found herself. Laird Lucas Barclay had received a message warning he was about to be killed by Maisies clan, therefore he kidnapped her as insurance against such an act. A 100 year long feud between the Barclay and Hendry Clanns needed to stop. Interesting dynamics shifting in this volatile situation.
He is told his life is in danger so he kidnapped the daughter of his enemy and they fell in love and was on the trail of a traitor and killer the characters are brave emotional and determined and this author made them realistic A good story and a enjoyable one
Enemy To Lovers Story: This author writes stories with good plots and likable characters. A familiar format for a romance story. Lots of emotions and struggles with undeniable attraction between Maisie and Lucas. It's a bumpy road for them before they reach a HEA conclusion. Good, sweet epilogue plus an extended epilogue that finished off the story completely.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I like the way Lucas and Maisie wanted to end a century’s old feud. The way Lucas went about it may have saved Maisie’s life, but it angered their fathers and made the feud worse. This story carried jealousy, betrayal and undying love. I liked the fact that there was a HEA.
Great, multi-faceted characters. Very interesting plot. Vivid descriptions. I felt every emotion. Kept me intrigued from the first page to the last. Simply a GREAT read!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
I like Eloise Madigan but lately her lack of historical knowledge about medieval society has ruined c reading her books. Stoves? Pen and paper? And the list goes on. It takes c away from the story so much that I post interest in reading a book that was free. The author needs to do her research first before writing.
I knew who the evil mastermind was. He was giving out no clues so no one else had any idea until it was almost too late. I’m so happy Lucas and Maise were able to have their HEA. I really enjoy this book and I believe you will as well. If you’re on the fence about reading this book, just jump. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Another awesome book by the author as she draws you into the lives of Maisie and Lucas of different clans. This story takes you on quiet an adventure with suspense, mystery, drama, kidnapping, romance, plotting revenge, misunderstanding, & sparks of attraction. Loved it.
Full of suspense, intrigue, drama and deceit throughout the story. Two major clans fighting over something that happened decades ago and now on the verge of losing their heirs in a third clan.
This was a good story. Lucas and Maisie fell in love and had to fight for their lives. You would think our world has learned from all the fighting but look at Ukrainian people being attacked by Russia.
Poor editing. I’m still unsure if Maisie’s last name is Dunn or Gunn? The plot is good, character development is decent. The grammatical errors were very distracting. I also felt like the end was a rush. This book was just okay for me.
What an amazing story. So much intrigue. So much adventure. Their path to each other was hard and amazing all in one. A wonderful story. Thank you Eloise.
This was very well written and I enjoyed the love that Maisie and Lucas had even though their clans were at war for years. The ending was lovely and the extended epilogue was beautiful!
