Pushing All My Buttons

Rate this book
I got stuck in a lift with this guy who then tried to hit on me, so I told him he was a jerk. A few days later, I started a new job and discovered he was my boss.
It had taken me ages to land a new job, and I simply couldn't afford to lose it. Somehow, I had to make sure that Lift Guy didn't realise who I was. It was time to get creative.

DNF at 30%

I really don’t know where I’m going wrong with my book choices this year. It honestly feels like I’ve read every good rom com in existence and have been left with the dregs.

When I say nothing happened in 86 pages I truly mean NOTHING HAPPENED. The characters conversations were simultaneously rushed one sentence each transactions and also lasted FOREVER. I don’t even know how that is possible. The lift doesn’t work, that’s the main plot point in 86 pages, she also got a new job and dyed her hair. You could write that in a chapter. The boss is the guy she met in the lift but there’s only been 1 sentence from him and I’m literally sick of waiting for the inevitable to happen.

I guess the title is right, it did push all my buttons

Great story!

This is a really good book by a very talented writer. The storyline kept me on my toes. I can't wait for the next book by this author. She is a very good and original storyteller! You won't be disappointed at all.

An easy to read rom-com though I was expecting a bit more. It was nicely set.

Lacey gets stuck in the lift with a guy and calls him jerk. It turns out that he is her boss and she has to keep the job at any cost.

Tony is sweet and lovely guy. I liked him. Miscommunication is something I don't like and he is misunderstood. Their building tension was good.

The side characters were good but I wasn't a fan of Lacey. She was irritating me with how she wouldn't give someone benefit of doubt and put herself before others including her mom.

The book was slow initially and picked pace later and was easy to read. There were some funny and good moments. This was my first by the author and I think I will give another a chance. Overall It was a good read.

Usually I give it until the 40/50% mark to actually mark a book as DNF but I feel pretty justified in this one.

The writing style is a little odd where it is extremely dialogue heavy. This style can work because it lends itself to a really nice quick pace, but the opposite was happening. It was all dialogue but the plot was standing still. It is insanely egregious to make it to the 20% mark and not have any interaction between the prospective couple. It is even more of a crime given as how all that real estate was not invested well. We didn't get to know the main character super well or lay necessary groundwork. So no, I wasn't going to slog it out for what was looking to be very little payoff.

A wonderful addition

A wonderful light hearted story with a fantastic ending.

Being stuck in a lift is no fun at all but Lacey has here hands full with the other occupant a rather rich looking hot guy that is out of place in their home Tower Court.

Things get a little to crazy when Lacey starts a new job, meets a man in a club and meets her mother's boyfriend, along with her sister Chrissy, their lives are about to change.

It was a fun read, hard to put down. The characters from this author are always engaging.

I can't wait for the next story.

Safe for work

I enjoyed this one, you're perfectly safe if you don't like any sexy time as there wasn't any, so definitely safe for work, I enjoyed the banter between all the characters.

Persevere

I almost have up reading this book because I disliked the main character Lacey.
I did persevere and it was a little better .
Not one of my favourites, sorry

I didn't like the start but liked the fact that Lacey didn't just end up with Prince Charming and all the cash.... I liked the humbling experience that they worked on...
