Tom and Jack are ready to settle down, certain that Tom's shifting problems wil come to an end soon with the help of the medical mages. Their lives are further upended, though, when not just the Council take interest in Master Callan's future plans to try for the vampire throne. Called to the White House along with the rest of their group of friends, their hope to settle into a routine of domestic bliss soon becomes a crazy rollercoaster ride.
This time the zaniness isn't all Spot's fault either, as in the midst of it all, they discover dragons are real...
This story was mainly about Tom and Jack, but the rest of the characters are fully engaged in this story. Master Callan is pursuing being king, Spot is causing trouble, but also is helping out too. Kiernan still yearns for a mate, Becker is his adorable self as he tries to control Spot, there be dragons too with new characters introduced. The US government and the Council get involved in the Nest's business and a move to another place is in order. An excellent book and hope that the next one has Spot finding his mate or perhaps Kiernan too. Oh, yes Lavender, the dragon needs a daddy. Can't wait.
I do like this series but I wish the author had given an explanation as to why Killian’s name was suddenly changed to Kieran after five books as Killian. I’m used to all authors of series having inconsistencies from one book to another but not change a significant characters name. And then to give the character their own book in the series (book 7) using that unexplained name. It was very distracting to me every time I read the name Kieran and it definitely affected my enjoyment from this point in.
I love this series and was so happy that Tom, who had suffered so much for so long, was finally cured and was able to shift again and he and Jack are getting married. Spot is ridiculous but endearing and the wedding vows he downloaded were hilarious. I was very nervous when Callan sat on the throne but of course all went well but I was worried about their trip to the White House and going to the underground bunker because I kept on expecting their being taken prisoner--too close to real life for me. I hope we get more stories about them and the dragons of course.
Well worth the wait! Tom in his were form is so freaking cute I could die. Not surprising the US government pulled some crap though. I really wonder how that's going to affect the next books. Truly loved this whole series and this was just icing on the cake! So excited for the next book!!!!
I loved this book, as with the others in the series it was a light read with some angst and humor thrown in to keep things interesting. Jack and Tom are finally getting somewhere in their relationship, while Breck and his Daddy are preparing for Callan to try and take the Vampire throne. And holy cow, we’ve got dragons!!
I love love love this series. I can’t wait to see what comes next. Jack and Tom really needed this. They had been through so much. I am so happy they were able to get here. So many changes and dragons too. I’m looking forward to where the author takes this next.
I really enjoyed the update to the series. There are still the usual typos and editing errors, but the story itself is top notch. Obviously there has to be more to come. I'm looking forward to it.
Well a lot went on in this book, weddings,,,,, king was made,,,,moving to there own island and so much more ,,,I hope this is not the last book I do hope there are more books to this series because they are far from done.
I don't remember how I came across this author, but I am so glad I did. This book was sweet with Tom and Jack becoming mates. There is a lot of change on the way and it involved everyone. Looking forward to the next book. Recommend reading.
✎ The story was very entertaining, love the characters, all of them, the old and the new, plenty of comedy, it was so good, I think it was the best part, the intimate moments and the romance were lovely, I do believe that the book in general deserved a bit more work, there were numerous mistakes, and that’s a shame because I do enjoyed this universe that was created. I absolutely love the author, A. Little has amazing ideas, but I suppose some help, could bring some benefits. Overall it was fun. Kudos!
👍 The antics of the Littles and Middles for me were the best part, I laughed several times! I also was enamoured by the romance between the main characters.
👎 A considerable amount of inconsistencies were present in this book, and that just pull the reader out of the fantasy, out of the story.
❌ It’s not the first time that this series presented problems with continuity. The name Killian now is Kieran. The title for Chapter 19 was “Jack”, however it was clear that the chapter was Tom’s point of view, for example he mentioned Papa and Master Callan… That flaw was not that important if you were just reading, but if you were listening, it can be really confusing.
🎧 Zachary Zaba has a beautiful voice and nice acting skills, yet there’s room for improvement, a few moments I didn’t agree with his choices for emotions…
❌ The repetitions continue. When he made a error in his reading, he repeated the sentence but didn’t edit out the mistake, he also switched the voices of the characters, when he detected that, he repeated all over again without edit out the previous flaw. There were times that he didn’t realised. I don’t think the narrator noticed the chapter 19 issue, he used Jack’s voice, but that wasn’t his fault. Nevertheless it was really distracting. He also changed a few words, that’s a normal flaw for narrators, that can happen, but sometimes it can change the meaning of the frase or situation, that was the case, for example, in the book it’s written ribbit, but he said rabbit, the moment was really confusing.
