Some are just the fanciful ponderings of a young mind and others the wishful dreams of a lonely soul. I was drawn to this book of poems by the title and then saw the Author is a Geordie lass like myself so I thought I’d have a read.
Jackie has really put her feelings out there in these poems. I could feel the pain, the heartache of broken dreams and break-ups. The push and pull of stay or go in a relationship that may not be all it should be. The head versus heart.
She shares the joy of love alongside the deep loss we feel when we love with no return or are loved but don’t feel the same. She has very much bared her soul. I was very moved by many of these poems.
I think this writer has a lot of potential and I give this a solid 3 stars. I applaud her for putting so much of her vulnerable self out here for us to read.
