The Royal & the Rich Girl

EXCERPT:

"Be real with me, Abigail. Please."

I paced the room, not wanting to look at him. "If I knew how, I would."

"You mean if you wanted to, you would," he corrected, reaching for me as I passed him. His hand closed around my wrist, and I wanted to recoil less than I needed to stay--less than I needed him to love me.

"If you knew anything real about me, I know you would leave." The words broke from my throat like a sob.

He pulled me into his chest, strong arms embracing me. "If you knew anything about me, you would know that I'm staying."

ABIGAIL STEELE: Happy. Bubbly. Leading the perfect life. At least... on the outside. On the inside, she hides secrets too dark to be shared, and scars that will never see the light of day-unless one man succeeds at uncovering them.

PRINCE EMANI: Royal. Religious. Loving. To him, family is everything. At least, it was until the incident years ago that separated him from them forever. He does his very best to support the girl who is falling apart on the inside, no matter how much she tries to conceal it.

But in the end, you can only try so hard on another person's behalf. In the end, they have to attempt to save themselves, too. That is, until God intervenes...

Her stories make you think about how we evaluate life.

Real life relationships and problems are explored in these stories and dealt with a biblical perspective that I found helpful. I love every character they appear real.

Aside from there being a few grammatical errors here and there and having worded a few sentences myself, I'd say that I say that I enjoyed the book. In my review for the second book, I mentioned there being a plot hole due to a kidnapping situation and it was answered throughout this book, meaning that both of these books takes place at the same time (page 116 explains the situation that lead the Cavalli's to the take action against the Steeles). A continuity issue that I came across was when Abigail left her phone in the car in one of the chapters while she was taking Katerina to the hospital, meaning that there was no mode of communication she could have and a few chapters later, she now has her phone again. Additionally, I don’t remember Lucas being in the same room as the Cavallis during the exchange in the second book. However, my memory could be failing me in this assumption. A moment that I found to be contradicting was when Antonio says "A sister for a sister" and Abigail agrees, he suddenly doesn’t want Abi because he has no use for her. Why offer the idea if you wouldn't ned her? It seemed like he did need her in the later chapters though, but I just found to be contradicting. Lastly, what happened with the gift Alli gave Emani? He never opened it, so we never saw what was inside. I assume it's because the author plans on continuing the series. The way the book ended leads to a book that may be focused on Georgia's story. However, I still feel like the gift could’ve been opened near the ending of this book because the story is centered around Emani and Abigail.

Now, what I loved about this book was Emani and Alexanders relationship/bond. Same with Katerina and Abigail. We got to see more of Abigail's struggles, which I absolutely loved and it showed us why she is the way she is. I'd say that out of the three books, this is my second favorite. I loved how Emani cared for her even after everything they'd been through.

It may have taken me a while to finish this, but overall, this was a great story, it just had a few inconsistencies here and there.

This was a pretty decent read. Although I'm not certain one can read this as a standalone novel. There were many references to the previous books in

At some point, I almost got lost figuring who was who... The entwined links between the characters was almost overwhelming. But I guess this is just because I continued this series after such a long time.

I loved the author's writing style that was punchy and the use of figurative speech really spiced up the book.

And I really also appreciated the character development in the main characters, Abigail and Prince Emani. The way their faith in God grew through trials and tribulations was really beautiful.

Perfectly Christian

This was a charming story about realizing and finding the love of God as well as it is only God who can fill the empty void inside us. I enjoyed the added touch of scriptures at the beginning of every chapter.
