Aircraft Technical Knowledge for the Private Pilot

Rate this book
Aircraft are amazing machines that can leap into the sky with seemingly little effort. However, aircraft are complicated, and pilots must understand them to fly safely. Understanding the theory side of the aircraft is essential for all pilots, giving them the confidence to make the right decision when things are not running smoothly.

The focus of this book is on airframe structures, engines and systems in single-engine, propeller-driven aircraft. This book follows closely the syllabi of Aircraft Technical Knowledge from a range of aviation authorities around the world. This book goes beyond these syllabi, with a particular focus on practical aviation, linking science with the real world. Each chapter contains a range of visual figures in full color and mini case studies that will allow the reader to have a deeper understanding of the aircraft.

I learned a lot.

While I'm pretty familiar with airplanes and engines and electrical systems, there were a LOT of things that I found I did not understand as well as I should. Very informative and well written, providing a lot of information without confusing wording.
