When a trip to Independence, CO leads to an amazing night of steamy lovemaking, Gracie tells herself that’s all it is. She is an FBI agent and has other things to think about besides the clan Beta, Cade Norton. Even if her cougar says differently and demands they go back to claim their mate.
After an incredible night, Cade Norton knows Gracie is the one for him. But when he wakes the next morning she’s gone with nothing but a note. As much as his black bear insists he go after her, he won’t chase her.
When Gracie’s case ends she decides to listen to her cougar and return to claim her mate. But it might be too late because everything starts to go terribly wrong. With other agents dying all Cade wants to do is keep Gracie safe, but he has no clue how with a killer on the loose.
To add to the fire, the mysterious man that threatens the Black Bear Clan is no longer happy with sabatoge and other shifters are starting to get hurt. One thing is clear, he is after the Molybdenum, but the question remains why?
I started my journey as a reader but quickly learned how much I enjoyed everything about romance, so I picked up the pen in 2017 and haven't looked back. Writing various genres, paranormal romance is my go-to. However, I do have a few mysteries and contemporary romances under my belt.
My favorite books involve characters that aren't perfect and have room to grow or a good mystery you can't easily solve. With each new book, I keep this in mind and enjoy creating complex worlds where my characters take the stage.
When I am not creating fantastic new worlds for my readers to get lost in, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two rescue dogs, Sammie and Jake.

This book is even better then the first. I a so hooked on this series that there is no putting it down. It moved along at a very comfortable speed. I could not help but fall in love with all these amazing characters. I feel as though I know them and no matter what I want to see them succeed, no matter what they need to do. The story will keep you reading till the last page and then you are wanting more. This is a must read.
This book is the second in this new author’s series of the Black Bears of Independence. Cade and Gracie’s story is full of intrigue, action and romance. It was a good read. There were a few questions left when I finished which I suspect will be answered in upcoming books as the main story line continues. My only issue was that some of the transitions from one scene to the next were a little rough. I suspect this is something that will improve with time.
Cade Norton is the Beta of the Independence clan and has finally met his true mate at his alpha's wedding ceremony. One night of passion has started the mating bond, but when he wakes in the morning his Gracie is gone leaving a note behind.
Gracie Jefferies works is trying to finish up her big case with the FBI. meeting her true mate at her best friends wedding is a bit unexpected. After one night together, she knows she must leave to finish her part in the case before she can have a happily mated life. However, the end of the case isn't easy and shut and now she has a person set on revenge chasing after her.
On top of the new troubles Gracie brings the Independence bear clan, there is still the sabotaging and spies to deal with within the clan. Someone is determined to mine the caves to get to the Molybdenum, but why?
So compared to the first book, this one still had just as rough transitions. There were times I felt completely lost with conversations occurring between characters that seemed to come out of left field. The switch between characters was rough as well, there were a few time I would have to go back to see who's perspective I was reading from, because we are no longer just reading from Cade and Gracie. But there's also Pickens, Dante, Corbin, Jase, Red...pretty much every character is given perspectives.
Cade and Gracie spotted each other at their friends' wedding. After spending one night together, Gracie leaves while he sleeps. Two months have passed since that night and they can't stop thinking of each other. You can't deny your animals when it's meant to be.
I enjoyed book two more then book 2. Cade and Gracie's story has the villians of different kinds, Working for the FBI she has a mad man going after all he feels were involved in his brothers death. The those that all shifters gone so they can get their hands on a certain mineral there. I'm looking forward to book 3 to finish the series.
Cade and Gracie's story is intense, filled with danger and mysteries. It's a difficult story to put down. Figuring things out regarding the mine. Hoping to see that wrapped up in the next book.
Cade's turn for his story, not unexpected since he found his mate at his alpha's wedding. When they can finally get together things aren't going as planned because as an FBI agent you never know when your cases will turn on you. Now to get their HEA they need to stop the bad guy and find a traitor. It's a story that reads fast and you just like all the characters, well the good guys that is.
I'm in awe with this 2nd book of the series. It was such a page turner and basically picked up where you left off with the first one. Not only was this about Cade and Gracie, but it brought Corbin and Eloise and the others into it. Very happy with this book/series and definitely worthy of ones time and lack of sleep. 🙂

Another exciting instalment to this series. Gracie and Cade who have a one night stand at her best friend and his alpha’s wedding, reuniting and realising they were meant for each other and mates. Unfortunately Gracie’s job lands her into trouble that lead to the family being kidnapped, they escape, but bigger and badder things are on the horizon to disturb their peace.
Things take a suspenseful twist in this installment. I liked the overall story but again it was much like the first needing some depth and fleshing out. I’d like to still see where things go from here.
A strong 2nd book in the series, strong story line and amazing continuity of characters and imminent threat. You get very attached to the characters and have to keep reading to see what happens next. Was hard to put down and I am feeling very connected to the characters.
