Cheryl’s newly awakened Alpha wolf is put to the test when her Omega is accused of murder by another pack. Pack law dictates Oscar’s fate must be determined by his accusers, but she’s certain he’s innocent and determined to find a way to prove it.
Getting to the truth isn’t going to be easy. Oscar’s fractured connection with his wolf makes him even more vulnerable than the average Omega, and Cheryl’s instinct to protect her mate goes into overdrive when she finds out why the other pack want him.
She’ll do whatever it takes to keep him safe. No one threatens an Alpha’s mates.
Moon Cursed is a standalone new adult shifter reverse harem romance with college-aged characters, serious steam and an HEA. Please note: This is the second novel in the Hybrid Shifter world to feature Cheryl and her mates. This harem was formed in Vicious Love, and the characters also make an appearance in the novella Hybrid Hearts.
Cheryl and the pack are back in Moon Cursed, it's the sixth book in the Hybrid Shifters series. This story is a continuation of Cheryl and her pack story who we first met in Vicious Love, the third Hybrid Shifters series and it was great.
At the start of this book, Cheryl and the guys are great. They've bonded and are in love with their mate and things had improved because let's face it the guys were a hot mess before Cheryl. Cheryl has embraced her alpha side and her magic is improving, Oscar is sober, Noah is happy, and Garrett is lighter. However, after a horrible event, Cheryl and the guys are starting to see the cracks below the surface. Things that they missed that are crucial to the health of the pack as a whole and as individuals. No matter, they recognize the problems and are working to correct them. The love is strong in this book, the way the guys have bonded and how they each love Cheryl is a sight to see also there were some incredibly hot sex scenes in the book that could start a five-alarm fire.
The magic was interesting because there was a little more witch involvement in this one, the drama was most definitely entertaining but most of all the plot really pulled at my emotions. All the things that the pack has gone through then for this threat to come out of nowhere, Oscar really had me in my feelings. Not to mention the ultimate plot twist that totally changed the game and add more possibilities to future stories. Another aspect I loved is all the connections, I'm a sucker for a good friend group, and I loved that this series' characters are intertwined so much. They're a great group of allies and friends who are all connected by their loved ones, have a great set of skills, and had each other's backs.
Moon Cursed was a great read, the emotional turmoil, the bonding, the magic, and the characters help make this such an enjoyable read. With new aspects of the magical world introduced I can't wait to see what Romy does with it next. I should also mention that it doesn't seem like Cheryl and the guys' story is quite over with just yet, I sure would love another book with them. Even if they don't get another book Romy has a few more planned for the series and I'm excited for those as well.
Cheryl and her pack have had their fair share of ups and downs. Cheryl feels like there is something going on with Oscar and when he gets accused of heinous crimes she lets her alpha tendencies flourish. She is fierce in her defense of Oscar and will bend over backwards to save him. This was a pretty good read. Drama, suspense, angst and love are abundantly overflowing in this book.
This is such a good read! Cheryl and her pack have returned and with them new problems have arisen. A well paced, entertaining read full of shifters, witches and magic. There’s secrets, drama, danger and twists and turns to keep you spinning and characters that we grew to love and some we don’t! It’s an enjoyable read set in a magical world and I look forward to more.
This is the second book about Cheryl and her mates. Oscar is still having problems connecting to his wolf but thinks it's no big deal. When a tragic even happens they must race against time to find out what really happened and to help Oscar. Absolutely wonderful characters and great world building. Look forward to more stories in this series.
Moon Cursed by Romy Lockhart is a fated mate paranormal reverse harem that is a continuation of Cheryl’s story from Viscous Love and the sixth installment in the Hybrid Shifters series overall—and is a definite must read!
In this story Cheryl and her three mates (Oscar, Noah, and Everett) continue to try and navigate life at the academy as a new park—and everything was going well until another pack makes accusations of murder against Oscar, the Omega of their pack. Which of course doesn’t sit well with Cheryl and her men so you just know this story is going to be epic!
I absolutely loved the pack dynamics and how they all grew throughout their story, even with all the drama, emotional turmoil and chaos that ensued around them at every turn. Told in multiple POVs this story will take you on a journey full of love, friendships, discoveries and a few twists along the way. Being able to see other precious characters from the series was also a huge plus!
Overall if you love fast-paced college academy RH romances with a fierce heroine and the sexy men that love her packed full of suspense, drama, sexual and emotional angst and steamy chemistry and love galore then this is the one for you!
Moon Cursed is Cheryl's (FMC) 2nd book and it follows on quickly from Vicious Love. I liked Cheryl from that first book but it's this book she seemed to come more into her Alpha role I thought. She still kept her empathy and compassion though which came out more in this book. Omega Oscar is having complications with connecting to his wolf which brings another pack around to cause problems for all of them. This book was definitely more fast paced and action packed than the first one. It kept you on your toes thats for sure. I loved the crossover characters from past books and also the inclusion of interesting new ones too. A great read
It was great to read another story about Cheryl, Oscar, Everrett and Noah. The storyline is well crafted and kept me engaged for the entire book. The author was able to get more in-depth with the characters and their relationships. I look forward to more books in this universe.
Cheryl Dartmore, a shifter-witch hybrid, is coming into her strength and confidence. She and her mates, Oscar, Everett, and Noah, are together and have a good bond with each caring about the others. Omega Oscar is continuing to have problems connecting to his wolf. He has blackouts when he shifts form and cannot remember what happened during those times. When Cheryl wakes and cannot find Oscar, she looks for him in the woods. He is unconscious, covered in blood, and a girl is dead beside him with her throat torn out. Cheryl hears two people coming toward them and teleports Oscar back home before they can be confronted by the strangers.
When Oscar is accused by another pack of murdering Alyssa Morgan, Cheryl must find the truth quickly before the accusing pack takes his life, which they would have the right to do. But finding the truth is made more difficult with Oscar’s damaged connection with his wolf. He believes he must have done it. He can’t prove otherwise. The other Alpha tells them what he wants. They wants to replace the pack member they lost by taking Oscar, breaking all bonds with Cheryl’s pack, and making him accept the new Alpha’s mark willingly. When she finds why the other pack wants him, she will pull out all stops to keep him safe. Cheryl announces they cannot let him go to the new back while he has blackouts, and she saw the first signs of irritation in the other Alpha. The witch who tested him said Oscar has deep-buried trauma and his wolf won’t connect until that is addressed. And Cheryl states that they can help him faster than strangers could. So she will not let him go. The presiding witch gives her only 12 hours, then she will sever their bonds and deliver him to his new pack. Can Cheryl save him? Or will she lose him forever?
The twist at the end will stun the reader. You won’t even see it coming! This story will hold your attention right to the very end. So grab your copy and start reading – you definitely won’t want to miss this one!
Moon Cursed is a paranormal romance reveser harem novel. You’ll be introduced to some mildly familiar characters – Cheryl, Noah, Oscar, and Everett. If you have read the previous books in the Hybrid Shifter world, then you’ll be able to jump into this book with no problems. While this book can be read as a standalone, it helps to have an established base to grow from. I’ve read a few of the previous books, but this one doesn’t follow the same pattern, but it’s still an enjoyable novel. There’s a problem with the Omega of the group, Oscar, but does this problem go deeper than they realize? He’s struggling again with an issue that started years ago, and now it seems to be getting worse. His group of mates are trying to help him, but things won’t be easy. Add in a spirit that wants help whom they have a bit of bad history with and things are definitely going to get interesting. Moon Cursed is an overall engaging novel. The chapters move quickly, and you get various points of view from the different characters. I appreciate that Cheryl is attached to more than just the guys, but I would have liked more of the girls in this book as well. There are quite a few steamy scenes that will leave you craving more and needing a cold shower. LOL! It’s steamy in just the right places, while some moments will leave you panting for more. I enjoyed this book overall, and if you are a fan of Romy Lockhart then you’re not going to want to miss out on this novel. I’m rating it 4 out of 5 stars.
Moon Cursed is out now and available in KU! This suspenseful, steamy paranormal novel can be read as a standalone reverse harem romance with a completed story, however, please be aware that the harem formed in Vicious Love and made an appearance in the novella Hybrid Hearts so there will be spoilers if you chose to read out of order.
Reading order for Hybrid Shifters world as a whole:
Last week I finally managed to read the first part of this story in this series of interconnected tales and I fell in love with it from the start. I loved the characters, I loved the plot and I loved the setting. I was quite curious how the author was gonna continue the storyline though. The storyline of the first book was quite finished. I was therefore quite excited this morning to start the arc I got from the author. At first I was planning to read the book in a few sittings, but I failed at that.
No matter how often I tried I just couldn't bring myself to put this book down! The plot of this second book appears quite soon and ever since that one crucial moment changing everything there was no way I was gonna stop reading until I had all the answers and knew how things could have gone so wrong. I think that it also absolutely helped that I read the first book starring these characters only last week.
I had grown very attached to these characters while reading the first book and there is a lot of angst in this installment. I knew that Lockhart would find a way out of this somehow, but the characters were not getting their solutions served on a silver platter. They had to dig and they had to dig deep and they had to get and gather all the help available. And even when they did finally succeed it getting their happy ending, it still came with a price AND a plot for another sequel.
I really enjoyed seeing characters from other books and harems appearing in this one. The novella connecting all our heroines and having them form their very own coven was not a one time thing. These girls are now bonded and they are not afraid to call on each other when they need the expertise and talents of someone else. It might get a little confusing if you haven't read the other stories, but even then I hope it's mostly a reason to also pick those up.
Moon Cursed is the sixth installment in the Hybrid Shifters series by Romy Lockhart. It is an exciting and fast-paced college academy reverse harem romance. This is the second installment following Cheryl and her mates; Oscar, Noah, and Everett. The book Vicious Love should be read prior to Moon Cursed to have a better understanding of the character’s background, development, and how the harem formed. There are also other books in the series with intertwined characters.
Cheryl and her three mates are navigating academy life as a newly established pack. They have found a rhythm that is put in jeopardy when another shifter pack accuses Oscar, the Omega of the harem, of murder. The emotional turmoil the characters experience felt very realistic. Oscar is definitely my favorite guy in the harem as he’s funny and lighthearted. Cheryl really went into overprotective mode and did anything and everything in her power to clear his name. The twist toward the end of the book was such a great reveal.
This story is very well-written and less confusing than some aspects in the first book. I devoured this book quickly and am hoping this duet will turn into a trilogy. I definitely feel like there is more story to be told for Cheryl and her guys!
What happens when you combine witches with shifters? An explosion of magic! I loved how the guys "settled" into their own, how they matured with Cheryl in their lives, although, poor Oscar has a problem or two... and he has no idea how to correct it! Well let me tell you, as the story progresses, so did things become clearer as to what was happening with Oscar. But I'm getting ahead of myself, first he's convinced that he's a danger to all and is capable of unspeakable things. Easy to assume if you blackout and have no recollection of what you've done or haven't done. I love the fierce protectiveness of the guys and Cheryl, their love for one another is just beautiful. Cheryl is really kickass, her magic is awesome and keeps getting stronger and stronger. When it becomes apparent that their is a hidden agenda from the despicable Liam, there's a mad dash to uncover the truth. But will they be in time? All the odds seem to be against them and an unlikely ally comes to their aid. Truths are uncovered, schemes are exposed as Chery, her mates and her friends scramble to save Oscar. Loved how emotive this book was, loved the twists and especially loved the ending, which opens it up to a very exciting next book!
Rating: 3.5 Stars POV(s): Multiple—First Person Relationship: Reverse Harem Genre(s): Urban Fantasy Romance
This is the second book in Cheryl and her mates story, and it was much more cohesive and coherent than the first. I appreciated the redemption of a certain previous character, although her storyline doesn’t feel wrapped up. The world building was definitely improved, however having not read any of the other books in this series outside of Cheryl’s, I’m wondering if there’s a Shifter Council given that there’s a Witches Council. If so, shouldn’t they have made an appearance at some point giving the conflict in this book?
Title: “Moon Cursed (Hybrid Shifters #6)” by Romy Lockhart Interconnected Series: Yes Standalone: No Cliffhanger: No HEA: Triggers: ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Cheryl has found her mates and is happily living with her pack, but their happy days seem to be numbered. There are wolves out there vying for their blood and wanting to steal from them, and with the pack becoming slack with security there is now a real chance they will lose their Omega. But losing Oscar isn't something Cheryl, Everett and Noah can accept, and they are willing to go above and beyond to prove Oscar innocent and get hom back. The PNR with some steamy parts is a part of a larger world building, and we meet here the characters from the other books, their destinies intertwined. I really like how Cheryl develops in this book and proves her worth more times than I can count and I also loved the moments between Everett and Leo. There is a lot of tension, mystery and hopeless moments without solutions in the book, yet the bright moments are the driving force forward and I absolutely adore how tight thw bonds in the pack are.
Moon Cursed follows Cheryl and her pack as they try to save Oscar, who has been accused by another pack of murder.
Cheryl's pack has a lot to deal with when it comes to trying to save Oscar. She had a mountain to climb in order to prove his innocence and she does with such strength and a fierce protectivness that only an alpha and her mates can have. I love their connections and the way the help each other despite everything happening. Plus, they have some really steamy fun which is always a bonus!
I did enjoy the twist about why Oscar was wanted by the other pack. It took the story in a different direction and opened up so many possibilities for their story in the future. I do wish I could say I didn't see it coming, but the majority of the book was predictable for me, so while I liked the twist, I wasn't shocked by it.
This book is another standalone and I am glad the author said about this being the second book in Cheryl’s story Romy also stated you don’t need to read the first one, I was a little wary about that but once i started I realised you really don’t have to have read it. I am in love with Cheryl and her mates. So much is happening but there is still a lot of secrets between her and her mates. Everything is out in the open and then something terrible happens, and they need to try work out what happened but once they do it’s not the hope they had. I can say so much more about this story but I will let you guys decide for yourself if you are into mystery, suspense and shifters this book is for you.
***4.5 stars*** Moon Cursed is a stand-alone but it is part of a shared world written by Remy Lockhart. Cheryl, Oscar, Everett, and Noah are mates and I loved their connection to each other. They are trying to adjust to life together when a pack accuses Oscar of murder. What do you do when someone goes after your mate? Everything to get justice. Oscar has a heart of gold. His wolf is a little finicky right now but that is no reason to mess with him. Cheryl is fierce, protective, and relentless in her search for justice for her mate. This story is well written and the character development is written well. The plot twists to this story was not what I expected. Enjoyed this entertaining storyline and am off to explore the rest of the Hybrid Shifter world books.
I hadn't read the first book with these characters, but enough is explained throughout (without being a complete retelling) to make sure you know what you need to in order to enjoy the story.
I liked the whole mix of witches, their use of magic, the shifters, and the plot of the story itself. The characters were great - interesting and fun - but the story centred around Oscar and he ended up being my least favourite character. There was just something about him. The others were much more exciting to read about.
I did enjoy this though, and look forward to reading more stories set in this world.
Moon Cursed is a continuation of previous storylines and books in Romy Lockhart's series, and it was full of some good suspense. Oscar's plight was heartbreaking, and I was on pins and needles for an indication that what was threatened with the bond wouldn't happen. I was pleased with the actual mystery and suspense, however I do think how it tied back in and hinted at could have been better developed, and I struggled slightly with dialogue that at times seemed abrupt and short. But for a paranormal mystery story, there were good ratios of spice and plot, with a story that really could explode and be used in multiple story lines in the future.
I feel like it's important to read Vicious Love if you want to fully connect with all the characters in this story. While Moon Cursed does a great job of kind of filling in some of the backstory it still feels like you may be missing a few details. In this book Cheryl and her pack face the unimaginable possibility of losing a mate. Of all of Cheryl's mates Oscar is the sweetest most needy of them all, but it's in such an adorable way. So when he is accused of murdering someone from a pack that has trespassed on their land everyone is stunned. This book was full of surprises and secrets that will have you feeling all of those emotions that a great storyline dredges up.
This series has been incredible! I love that the author came back to Cheryl and gave us more of her and the men. This book brings us termoil after Oscar is accused of murder and the pack helps to clear his name. They all thought that they had worked through their issues and have grown closer as a pack however this book shows that there are deeper issues at foot.
I loved how the pack came together and they grew closer as well as worked through previous trauma. This was an incredible book and I loved the cameos involved as well. I highly recommend you grab this book, especially if you loved Cherly and her pack in the first book!
I love how this story combines witches and shifters throughout it. This is the second book with Cheryl and her mates. But the way it is written it can still be enjoyed if you missed the first one. The character of Oscar is a total sweetheart and easy to love. He is an omega and has a heart of gold. The pack will face new dangers and some visitors from the past (with one very uninvited guest). There is danger at every turn as the pack try to protect their own as well as others. The romance between the mates does heat up as the men definitely love their mate.
Another enjoyable and interesting read great addition to this series. I also loved that this one has a strong female alpha which was awesome. The unique pack set up with overlap between wolves and witches amazing. Added in the mystery, action, steamy encounter made for a helluva read. Looking forward to more books in this universe. I received a free copy via Booksprout and as always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
Moon Cursed is an intricate book set in this shifter world. Following Cheryl and her mates as a new threat comes to their pack, with another Alpha trying to steal their Omega. This pack, which started with 3, is becoming bigger and that mansion of Everett's is getting full! I love Cheryl's dual nature, between her wolf and witch sides. The steam level is pretty high, which is great! I love the relationships and pack intricacies. It's also worth mentioning that although they may be true mates, they still have to choose each other. This is a great world to lose yourself in.
So I haven't read Cheryl first book before this one, shame on me. While it make me feel like an intruder in Cheryl and her coven/pack relationships It doesn't prevent to read it. Cheryl has 3 mates and this books circle mostly around Oscar her omega mate. Oscar has blackouts whenever he shifts and when he has to leave for another pack it is time to discover why and how to stop them. What I like with this standalone are that Romy always put crumbs and threads leading to other books. She will open the road for other characters.
This was a great addition to the Hybrid shifter world and focuses on Cheryl and her mates. They go through a lot emotionally in this book and I really appreciated the character growth we got to see, as well as their love . The characters are diverse, well laid out with solid personalities. This was a captivating read with a great mix of drama, magic, steam and suspense! Well paced and easy to read, this standalone flowed really well. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I look forward to another book in this shared word, hopefully with a cameo here and there !
Really great book with a strong FMC surrounded by her men. Cheryl is an alpha wolf that has a personality that her wolves love. She takes no BS from anyone and, as an alpha does, takes care of her pack/men the best she can. Definite page turner that will have you on your toes one mintue and swooning the next. You can feel all the feels from the characters, which makes it even more enjoyable. So grab yourself a drink, pick up this book or your Kindle, and start reading. What are you waiting for!!
Cheryl and her pack/men (Everett and Noah) need to prove that Oscar (their omega mate), did not murder someone, like he is accursed of by another pack. Is there a reason why this other pack might be accusing Oscar of this crime? I enjoyed Cheryl and her mates story, it was great learning more of Oscar's backstory (and more of the others characters coming out), and the drama and spicy heat of their story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was immediately sucked into this book from page 1. While this book can be read as a standalone, it helped me to have read the Hybrid Shifter world books first, as Cheryl and her pack are introduced there first. It was good to have background knowledge before starting this amazing book.
In this book, Omega Oscar is accused of murdering a member of another pack. When Cheryl finds out that her broken mate is wanted by this rival pack in place of the killed member, she fights with everything she has to keep him, even though time is not on their side.
