Going home isn’t always easy. For Eero Bridges, it’s the last thing he expected to do in life. After his family’s world is turned upside down, he’s left to deal with the aftermath and try to bring his children a sense of normalcy again. Returning to North Brooke Port is supposed to do that for them. When tragedy suddenly hits closer to home once again, Eero has to pull himself together in the face of devastation.
Azari Gates is also the product of NBP. Born and bred in the close-knit town, it’s the only place she ever considered home. Jobless, and living in her parent’s house as an adult is not ideal. When her job hunt leads her to Eero’s doorstep, the attraction is evident from first glance. However, neither of them want to blur the professional lines. Can they deal with each other on a regular basis platonically, or will the chemistry between them cause things to implode? Can each of them leave their painful pasts where they are, or will they be setting themselves up for more in the long run?
Eero is an alpha male. He felt helpless when he couldn't save his wife, his aunt and his daughter because she wouldn't speak. Zari was just lost and was going through it. She was young and dumb and in love. Maino alienated her from all her family and friends and she didn't have anybody to vent to. Jadore was a mean girl in high school and carried it into her adulthood. Aspen too walking around like her ish don't stink. Jazon got caught up with having an affair with Aspen, he got a beat down messing with her. Seneca got her feelings hurt. Maino was like a d@#n roach popping out from all over. Ej and Ehji was happy to have a mother figure. Zari was happy to have somebody who believed in her. Eero and Zari got a second chance to make it right.
You will find heart ache, pain loss, family, friendship and love! Amari & Eero were meant for each other! They suffered so much loss and didn't even realized how unimportant they were to each other! Loved the relationship Eero had with his children! The children placed in the story was so ideal & perfect! Aspen finally became the sister again that Azari remembered, especially after her own skeletons came out! Jason was a true friend indeed to Eero, but he had his own set of issues, but dealing with Aspen brought him some c!faith in a good way! Loved the ending and hope to see more of Eero & Azari
****Spoiler Alert- All I can say is, make it make sense! I love Ms. Partee’s books. However, towards the end of this book everything fell apart. You cannot go against the very character of a person and turn them into something else just because you want to stick to a specific storyline. I know Azari was traumatized. However, Ehli was her second chance. It’s no way she knowingly put Eeros kids in jeopardy like that knowing her ex was running around alive and free. Then knowing he attacked your parents, you still don’t say anything like he was just going to go away. Make it make sense. Good storyline but poor execution at the end.
Baby Ms. Partee didn't come to play!!! I couldn't put this down and I was a tad bit sad that it ended. Zari is just what Eero and his kids needed! The connection she had with the children was so organic, I just about cried when Ehli spoke after not speaking for so long! I just loved when Eero and Zari finally got it out their own way and got together. Now her sister and Jadore were some real mean girls, I wasn't too upset when she met her demise! I really enjoyed this story. S.L. Partee always shows out and that's why she's one of my favorites!!!!
I enjoyed this book! It’s interesting to read about a little town from different authors POV with totally different character. I was trying to see if there were any from the other book Possessive Intent …I think I only found one 🤔.. there are few things that aggravate me more than a heroine hiding something dangerous from the hero..I was angry with Zari for that but overall I loved her meekness and her relationship with the babies.
Come through!! From the very beginning of this book I said she didn't even have to do us like that. I hope she gives us more of North Brooke. I loved this little town. And I have a feeling that there's more than meets the eye. When she introduced Azari I Knew instantly that she would be the one to help those children. Eero was bae all day.
Girl l loved this book because baby you did that. Yes I cried and laughed as well. I was happy to see Azari and Eero was able to get together after everything. I loved them together though. I was so happy that Azari was able to get his daughter to talk again and I loved that.
Eero is bae!! Zari and Eero were meant to be. I felt so bad for Eero's children, they had to go through trauma with losing their mother and then their aunt. But in comes "My Zari", the kids genuinely loved her and she loved them as well. To hear EJ say that people always leave or dies hurt me so bad, poor baby. I'm happy that they got their happy ending!!
This book was very good. It was different and I loved that. Once I finished reading this book, I was at a loss for words. This book is worth reading!!! You shedded light on a storyline that most people would have difficulty writing about and S.L. Partee, ma’am I am forever fan of your work! Thanks
The story was nice. I liked most of the characters, and as unusual there is a villain and a jerk or two. There were the good guys and gals. I adore good stories with cute kids, and this one had two. The jealous sister act and fractured family relationship was draining for me. Overall, the story overall was 3.5 stars.
A good read that is well written with a steady flow. With some crazy drama, secrets, and love. The characters all have issues and all have crazy ways of dealing with them. But the love that grew between the main characters was on another level. It was sweet and the kids definitely helped it along.
I'm thinking Eero ex father in law sent Maino after him and by him watching Eero that's how he found Zari again. Jadore needed to grow up but karma came back for her. Aspen was a horrible sister and a worse wife. Ehlani is such a precious little girl. Happy that Eero and Zari found their way back to each other.
I really enjoyed reading this story. Both Zari and Eero were fighting their own personal demons in which they both helped each other without actually knowing. I loved the bond Zari had with his kids. Great story!!!
S.L. Partee you have done it again. I couldn't put this book down. Azaria and Euro you perfect for each other and to think Maino was after them both. Aspen was so bitter and jealous.
Who knew that all their lives were connected from the very beginning. Azari was an awesome person that let life beat her up. Aspen was just a nasty person that some how found a second chance. Cute a storyline
Slow for my liking but it turned out to be great book. Azari have been through a lot with her ex Manio was devil 👿 for real ..Now Eero was still grieving but not how you think 🤔 But he finally let go and found love happiness
This was my first read by this author and I totally enjoyed the book. It flowed well and I loved just about all the characters except a few bad seeds. Will definitely read more of her work.
This was a really good book I couldn’t put it down I am so glad she grew a back bone and in the end they both got what they deserved and the kids ❤️❤️❤️
