Find out in Bake Happy, the third and final book in the Bake Believe Trilogy.
Story-obsessed author with more books than bookshelves.
Most days you'll find me in my favorite fluffy chair with a computer on my lap, a dog at my feet, a ridiculous number of crazy cats reeking havoc, and my favoritest family milling around.
I love stories that suck me in, make me laugh and leave me wondering!
Bake Happy was such a fun way to end the trilogy! Honestly, there are so many life lessons in there, I must’ve highlighted half the book. I just love Cat’s humour that the author carries through her character. Baking really is a wonderful way to show others that you care and are thinking of them; this is really a worthwhile read.
Favorite Quote 🔹“It’s not really top-secret information, baby girl. Evie’s how-to guide is posted all over the bakery.” I rack my brain; I don’t remember seeing anything about how to bake with emotions all over the bakery. “Hey.” Granny squeezes me lightly. “It’s simple. When in doubt, Bake Happy.”🔹
Review
Cori Cooper has done it again and has given a perfect finisher for the series! This book had me so tied up and so into the book that I was giggling, laughing, closing my book and trying to re read what I just read because it couldn't have been right what I read! I just couldn't believe my eyes the way she's developed Cat from a non-baking person to a spectacular human just baffles me!
This book has Cat Anderson as the nice person but even a nice person has someone whom they hate right! Cat HATEs Nate and if it's not the understatement of the century I don't know what is! These loathsome pair have hated each other from DAY 1,but when fate throws each other in the same path again with different circumstances they both make a wish that changes both of their lives FOREVER!
The book's writing style was FLAWLESS and totally Cori-Cooptacular! The plot is just uniquely designed to fit Cat and her fam gang, the characters are just fantabulously built! The traits, flaws and the background for each is just awesomer than the one before! And THE RECIPES on each chapter!Oh Gosh so amazing!and it's recipies from the authors collection letting us in on her favorite recipes and tricks in baking! Can't wait to read more from the author!!
Bake Happy is the final instalment of the Bake Believe trilogy, bringing the series to a satisfying conclusion with a captivating story of fate, wishes and grumpy teenagers.
If you're new to this series, I would recommend reading the books in order. It's a wonderful series for teen readers full of magic and delicious food. It would make a great holiday read as every chapter is accompanied by a recipe for a delicious treat that appears in the story - it will definitely provide days of entertainment!
I particularly liked the extent to which Bake Happy addresses the moral implications of Cat's family's gift/curse. They are, for the most part, careful when they bake emotions into things to only do happiness. But what if people don't want to be happy?
I also really liked getting to spend a bit more time with Maurice, and hear his story. It's great that this series brings together several generations of family members who share their ideas, experiences and baked goods with each other.
Definitely 5 stars from me! I'd recommend it to teen and pre-teen readers who love baking and magic (and have already read the first two books - if not, do that first!)
This is another amazing book in one of my favorite book series ever. I think the author was able to end the series in the right way, although I personally will miss these books. And their recipes. In fact, I would not recommend reading this without eating beforehand. Otherwise, you will find yourself hunting in your cabinets for ingredients to make these wonderful goods. Or perhaps that was just me. I love how the chapter title is the recipe is that you get at the end of the chapter. Such a cute and clever way to include that. I love how the author once again was able to make me laugh at all the things these teens did. Not to mention tug at my heartstrings with the morals being taught. There were a couple of times I had tears welling in my eyes at the thought of having to decide if the ability of magic was a gift or a curse. Especially when it involves your family and isn’t something that only one individual has. An amazing end to what has become a book I look forward to reading. I hope that perhaps she will revisit the series later.
This is a great junior level book for girls (or really anyone) who likes baking, and doesn’t mind a little relationship drama thrown in for good measure. Sometimes those relationships are family issues, and sometimes they are friends, but always they make for drama. One bonus with this book and the other two in the series is you get several recipes to go along with the story. Who couldn’t use that? Cat and her family and friends are back for one last baking adventure. When Cat and Nate accidentally swap family curses, Cat is no longer able to bake her feelings, but Nate is…and boy is he misusing his abilities. Cat and Robyn try to stop him from doing bad things with a good gift. Meanwhile, Cat can’t seem to get boys to leave her alone. Between presents, over the top presentations, phone calls and texts, hundreds of boys are bothering her constantly. Cat and Nate are forced to live out the “walk a mile in someone else’s shoes” idiom. The question is, will they be able to fix it?
This is book three in the trilogy about Cat Anderson and her magical baking. It was nice being back with Cat, as she is a very likeable and relatable main character. Cat has to navigate being a teenager alongside her magical baking abilities. Having been to her family’s bakery and learnt all about her magic baking, Cat is happier and more confident. In fact she’s making the world a better place through her baking, and is using her abilities at class parties and at family meal times. Just when everything seems perfect a surprise visit and a big announcement turn Cat’s world upside down, leaving her wondering how she can continue to ‘bake happy’. This is a fun and lighthearted read with a quirky and unique storyline, which had me happily turning the pages once again. I felt engaged with the characters and immersed in the story due to the descriptive narrative. An enjoyable read for both YA and adults alike.
This is the third book in this series. I have loved all of these books. It was beautiful to see how the character Cat grew and developed through these books. Each books deals with different aspects and troubles that any young girl goes through and the way Cat deal with these things makes the stories enjoyable and relatable.
I also love the passion Cat has for baking and how the success of her baking depends on the emotions she is feeling and what she is going through at that time. It is also lovely to read of the connection of the family starting with her grandma and passing down the love of baking.
Another beautiful little surprise in the stories is the recipes so you can make them yourself. I found this a really unique twist and helped to bring the story to life even more.
These books are definately a must read of any young person trying to navigate the changes that come from being a child and growing into a young adult.
This is the third book in the series. Been the final instalments of this series it's sweet and brought memories of childhood times. Cat is such a fun character and is pleasant and nice to everyone even those she dispises. When thrown together due to events a wishes is made that changes thier lives forever. I adore the connection we read between her and her grandma due to her passing her love of baking to cat.
This is the third book in the Bake Believe series. If you haven't read the first two, go do that now. It was a great ending to the series. I really enjoyed all three books. It was very cool to have recipes so we can actually bake these things too. I believe this would really draw in the teenage group, especially those who like to bake and like magic. I think the morals being visited are easy to understand. Definitely recommend this story.
I absolutely adored this novel because it brought back memories for me growing up, as well as raising my two daughters when they were young teens and getting into baking! The character development was really well written, even though this is the first time I have read one in this series. I didn’t have a hard time picking it up and reading! This book is great for young teen girls, even if they aren’t into baking! I was very satisfied with this book! Great job by the author!
I have been a fan since book one. Watching Cat grow and learn about herself and her family has been a fun journey. Book three is bittersweet, but was such a fun end in an amazing series. Cat and Nate are back at it when a mishap takes place and forces the enemies to join forces. Still quirky, sweet, and full of smiles we watch Cat in her element with the whole family close by. One of the funniest young adult books I have loved and read
"What?" Nate's forehead wrinkles, "You mean we like Freaky Fridayed?" "I do not know what this means," Maurice says..."
Nate and Cat are having a mixup of trouble in this, the final installment of this trilogy. Somehow, during a family dinner, Nate and Cat had a heated exchange and set off some events that made for a week of drama, humor and challenges galore. Don't eat the goodies....those emotions are running free. This book was so entertaining. Cat and her family, Robyn and her family, Jojo, Jake, Nate, Liam, Tobey, and the cast of others make for a story of teen angst and drama that is so relatable. The reference to Freaky Friday was awesome. I've been around awhile so I can think back to the original. I also found the story of Evie and Maurice so romantic and heartbreaking. A plot twist for the win. This trilogy has been so entertaining to read plus recipes to boot: Tres Leches Cake; Almond Bark; and many more. A win for all of us.
Final book in trilogy What a brilliant conclusion to a wonderful trilogy. I have enjoyed every book in this series. With quirky family, teenage angst, mischievous magic and lots of delicious baked goods - what more is needed? The story is well written and the characters amazing. The added bonus of the recipes is a treat. Totally recommend reading from book 1 to get the full experience.
U really loved this one because it took me back to my childhood and how much I loved to bake with my family and the recipes were awesome. I really loved the story and cat's humor was infectious.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book did not disappoint! Packed with the emotions & drama of an early teen, but at the same time, clean & fun! I love how the main characters resolved their issues & learned how to make the best of their problems & to make the world around them a better place!.

To say that Bake Happy is the perfect ending to Cat's story is a bittersweet feeling for me. I continued to read and watch as Cat develop from this young girl to a young lady all through baking her heart into everything and a little of her Granny's secrets. This book had me so crazily reading every word just to get to the end. I kept waiting for more and wanting to learn and bake just as Cat had! This character Arc and storyline had me completely thrown through a loop. One minute I was laughing, the next I was crying, the next I was happily munching on cookies (yes, I tried a recipe), happily flipping to the next page.
Cat Anderson is a sweet, kind, albeit sometimes very much an annoying teen, type of person. However, none of that deters her from loathing Nate. But when Cat and Nate are thrown together, by fate or baking (who knows), making wishes and hoping for something else both tie them together and draw them apart down. The suspense killed me. The ever-present giggly, quirky Cat turned more into a young lady and pleasantly surprised me more times than I can count.
I love how they deep-dive into emotion. Cat and her family, each person in their own way, walk through a plethora of emotions that are guiding and helping them figure out the morale behind baking emotions into their food. They really consider seriously every emotion and carefully extrapolate each one into the most delicious food. Sometimes for the better, some for the worse. I like how Cat walks us through her journey and learns the differences between emotions. I also really loved all the added recipes in this series. It's a nice homey touch and it feels like I'm being let in on family secrets. So much more perfect for this story. I loved this series and recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh, a good cry, and a good family story.
Bake Happy is the third and final book in the Bake Believe trilogy by Cori Cooper. This was both a fun and bittersweet read, as I knew it was the final book in the series and I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet. This follows on from the previous books, so I suggest reading the first two instalments before beginning on this one. As I have said before, I love how original and fun this series is. Ms. Cooper has crafted such a clever and imaginative teen/YA fantasy story- with magic, family, humour, recipes, a sprinkle of drama, teen life, adventure, emotion, heart and soul. Oh, and recipes, did I mention yummy recipes? I have loved Cat (and company) right from the moment I met her back in book one. I love how wonderfully quirky and endearing the character/s are- they really brought the story to life and things definitely wouldn't have been the same without them. Our adventures all started in Book One when we met Cat Anderson for the first time and saw how her life was turned upside down after she discovered baking, and found out exactly what her baking could do. It took her a while to get a handle on her baking 'skills' which may have caused a little chaos in the process. But now things are going smoothly and she has everything under control.... or does she? Stay tuned for a surprise or two, because things are about to get quite interesting. I'm really hoping that we may get to revisit Cat again in the future. In the mean time I'm looking forward to seeing what Ms. Cooper does next! Happy reading!
Bake Happy (Bake Believe Series Book 3) by Cori Cooper - Review by Maryn Belling
Remember where we last saw Cat, Robyn, and their moms Bridget and Marissa? That’s okay - neither did I because I *oops* started to read book 3 before book 2 without realizing it and thought it was the Twilight Zone for a minute (okay for the time it took the chocolate lava cupcakes to cool 6 months into 8th grade).
So after I went back and read book 2 in the order it was MEANT to be read in, book 3 started making a whole lot more sense. The increasing difficulty of the recipes makes sense, too. I might even have more empathy for the contestants on baking challenges now that I’ve seen (errr read) how much effort it’s taken Cat to master some recipes that are deceptively challenging.
This book has a new twist that builds on the story of the last 2. I can’t possibly share spoilers that would ruin the whole adventure of Cat & her family’s amazing baking heritage; but I can assure you, these books are a delight and the recipe instructions are fantastic!
Looking forward to hearing more stories from Cori Cooper and incredibly thankful that such a fabulous author of Young Adult books is from Arizona! There’s no place like home, especially when it comes across so beautifully in stories.

Cat and Robyn are at it again! When a surprise brings Cat and her enemy Nate together, their worlds are turned upside down. There is no choice but for them to work together and try to fix the situation. Can they find a way to stand one another long enough to fix the biggest problem Cat has faced?
This was such a fun and feel good read! I am SO sad that this is the last of Cat’s story. I have fallen in love from day one, in Bake Believe. Cat is fun loving and adventurous. Like the other books in this trilogy, I love the point of view the author has created. Readers are inside of Cat’s mind while she is going on rambling tangents with her as she figures out her world. Cat’s brain works a lot like mine and I love that. Of course she could do nothing without her cousin and best friend Robyn, who compliments her perfectly while still being her partner in crime. One of my favorite parts is of course the recipes! Each chapter has a delicious recipe at the end that compliments the story. My daughters and I actually baked our way through this book and the recipes are DELICIOUS. It was such a fun way for us to connect as we read this story together.
This book is book three in a series. I did not read the first two books and was able to still enjoy this little story. It is a YA book filled with recipes, relationship drama, and how to deal with teenage troubles. Cat has a passion for baking, a passion she inherited from her grandma. She has realized that the things she bakes are impacted by the feelings she has while preparing them. In comes Nate - joining a family dinner celebration, he and Cat get into it. When this happens - they experience something that comes right out of the movie Freaky Friday! If you have seen that movie, you know what I mean! When Cat and Nate flip abilities, Cat finds she can't bake her feelings and Nate goes wild and crazy with his new ability. It is up to Cat and Robyn to find a way to get him to use his powers for good. This book is a book for young adult/teen readers. It has all the feel good loaded inside of it!
5 Stars Bake Happy (Bake Believe Series Book 3) by Cori Cooper
Bake Happy is the third and final book in the Bake Believe Trilogy and I absolutely loved reading it. This is a Fantasy/magic that will leave you craving sweets and wanting more. This authors style of writing and attention to detail amazes me. I love how she incorporates the recipes at the end of each chapter. Reading this series had made me enjoy baking that much more. I highly recommend reading this Trilogy in order as each book is just as good as the last and you get a better understanding of what is going on. Cat is back at it again in this sweet filled magical read. You don’t want to miss out on another great read. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
This trilogy comes to an end with this book that focuses on Cat's continued baking escapades. I'm going to miss this neat little series of books that features some really good recipes, as well as a great story!
Cat and Nate still have a love-hate relationship. More on the hate side. When they swap family curses, things become a little more interesting. I do like that Cat got a taste of what Nate felt. Not sure the curse had the same effect on Nate in regards to Cat. I think it gave Cat a better appreciation for Nate, although she continued to be pretty icy towards him.
This is a great book for pre-teens and teen girls and boys who enjoy baking. It would be a great book to read with a trusted adult that could help them bake some fun recipes! There is a hint that Robyn might get her own story and I do hope she will!
Cat has got this baking happy thing down! She visited her family's bakery and learned so much from her aunt and GG. Cooking for parties and family members has been great practice and she's baking the world a better place one recipe at a time. Everything is going great until she has a surprise visit from someone she's not fond of. Not only that, but her aunt JoJo has an announcement that no one saw coming! Wishes get thrown around and magic baking gets mixed up with some crazy effects. How can Cat bake happy now?! Life has turned upside down and she hasn't a clue of how to fix it all. Bake Happy is the last funny young fantasy book to the Bake Believe series. It's such a fun book and I can't wait for my daughter to read it so we can talk about the series while we bake some of the recipes that are included in amazing book set!!
Baking and Cooking are such wonderful ways in which to share memories and how to handle problems. A way to share joy, and a way to share sadness. Cori teaches us all way in which we can continue to grow. These experiences are not just limited to Grandmas and their grandchildren. I learned so much, and I reached out to the grumpy neighbor who I had always wanted to learn to crochet or loom. I sent a little note out to all on our street (our street is only 2 blocks long, but we had a nice little group of both sexes) and we all learned so much from each other. Thank you for bringing this book into my life, it was not just a book but a lesson in life, that brought so much to me and my family. I received this novel from BookFunnel. This is my true and honest review.
I will definitely be re-reading this trilogy from the first book through the third. I picked it because I was needing a little bit of a pick me up in life. This was just so much fun, there was laughter, smiles, and "good feel" emotions that just can't be simulated on your own. Despite not knowing the backstory of the characters, I still found this to be a charming read.
Cat is obviously a baker, and her confidence inspires me to really enjoy my own hobby as well. It also makes me wonder what I can do to make my world a better place. I think this will be a good re-read for the holidays, as there is a lot of family and tight-knitted "ness" between the characters.
Bake Happy is the third and final book in the Bake Believe Trilogy. I read this book without reading books 1 and 2 in the trilogy. I wish I had read the other books first, but I still enjoyed this book on its own. I love the characters in this story! Cat and Robyn have an enviable cousin bond. I love that their families get together often and support both main characters. I like that the author included recipes to go with each chapter of the book. The ending wasn't how I predicted the book would end, but it was a good ending to the story. Reading this book makes me want to go back and read the first two books. I would recommend this book for my junior high students to read, especially if they are interested in baking.
Cat finds herself in a dire predicament. Her favorite aunt is marrying into the enemy’s family. Cat and her nemesis, Nate Walker, are being thrown together at family dinners as the happy couple, her aunt and his uncle, announce and celebrate their engagement. After a particular loud argument between Cat and Nate, experience some freaky consequences.
This author makes me laugh and smile. I absolutely love the way the author/characters blend baking/ cooking/ food into their expressions! This series has been a delight to read!
Maybe Penny could be next!! It would be a shame to have to say goodbye to these wonderful characters. I have enjoyed this series completely.
Bake Happy is the final book in this YA romantic fantasy trilogy. Make sure you go back and start with the first book Bake Believe.
I love stories that are a little different and this trilogy is definitely original and imaginative. It is fun and entertaining and has humour that will have you laughing. This quirky tale will have your taste buds salivating with the magical recipes included. It is interesting and unique and gives us the usual raging teen angst and grumpiness. The story is humorous and engaging as we adventure along with Cat and her magic. It’s hard to say goodbye.
Cori has hit the spot that YAs are going to enjoy reading about Cat and her family.
Bake Happy is a great and funny book filled with comedy and recipes. Cat is a fourteen year old girl who is sarcastic and loves to bake. Her family has this gift where they can bake something and make people feel certain emotions. One day, Cat loses the ability to bake her feelings and she gets upset. Eventually, she realizes that people don't need to feel happy in order to make the world a better place. Helping others is more beneficial than getting them to feel certain emotions. As a fellow baker, I love that the author included recipes for the baked goods at the end of every chapter. Bake happy is great for someone who loves comedy movies and baking.
