Indy Yelich's second poetry collection Dudette is an ode to the messy early twenties: sexuality, love and heartbreak in New York City, navigating suburbia in a pandemic, and hope in an ever-changing digital world. In poems of love and fury over the internet, Yelich walks through the city and her hometown, lost in the beauty and pain of daily living.
Indy Yelich is a 23 year old musician and writer living in New York City. Her first poetry book, Sticky Notes was released in 2018. Dudette is her second collection of poetry.
Oh my goodness Indy!! Dudette is absolutely an infatuating read! What a journey my heart undertook reading this! I absolutely love sticky notes & I absolutely love dudette. This book is a beautiful orchestration of you!
I went to Indy's signing at Soho House and I was able to see her read live. I really liked the ones about getting your heart broken in New York, I feel like this collection is relatable and also well written.
A fluid collection of small moments that make even the most mundane aspects of being a 20-something feel like some kind of reverie. Found so much of myself in this one and took away quite a few lines that will stick with me for some time.
no one can put into words the experience of being young and feeling the highs and lows of life more than indy. i can’t thank her enough for these words. so many profound sentences that stick with me. in tears by the last page. what a wonder.
