Escaping Juan Josef and returning home sit at the forefront of their minds as the group blends. Relationships will be both tested and strengthened as they navigate captivity on an 18th-century pirate ship. They'll face rough waters, illnesses, and be forced to cope with a captor who is unstable.
Will they find the storm? And once through, were the decisions made to get there the right ones?
Author threw in everything but the kitchen sink (SPOILER REVIEW)
Here's the thing. This story could've been an epic tale of adventure and romance. Here's why it's not; Prose is uneven. It changes from fast-paced and exciting to sort of mundane and almost YA in some sections. Author misuses words regularly and rambles, as well as using awkward phrasing in places. The two main MC's get really monotonous in all their MANY declarations of love and come on, no woman who just had twins is going to want to have sex all the time. Time travel is more believable. TD apparently couldn’t decide if this was an adventure story or a romance series. We get long descriptions of wedding plans and ceremonies as well as casual discussions of murdering certain people or an entire family line to manipulate the future. Last but not least, three of the group are able to go back home and are accused of hijacking the plane that originally crashed. So an FBI agent is introduced to this already very long 3rd book. So, to recap, needs editing and proofing, pacing needs to be more consistent, definitely needs to be more concise. It just went in too many directions and got a bit convoluted. It's such a good story though so I have kept reading the books as they come out, only to remember what I didn't like in the previous books.
I didn't think I'd like this series as much as I do. Time travel normally isn't something I want to read about but I've loved this series so much! Can't wait for book 4!!!
This book was just as fantastic as the first two! I never knew what to expect every time I turned the page. Gripping and anxiety inducing! Can’t wait to read book 4! This author never disappoints!
Not sure why I kept reading this series. I guess I just kept waiting for it to get better. It was like the author just kept over describing and over explaining everything trying to stretch it into three books so you'd have to buy three books. And yet a 4th one is being written. If I don't still have a Kindle unlimited subscription then I certainly won't be paying to find out if this saga ever ends. I'm thinking it won't. Gotta sell more books after all. I skipped a lot to try to find the substance of the story as it was boring and repetitive. Still I kept reading in the hopes that it would get better so I guess the formula worked for a lot of sales.
Nope. I made it through about 75 percent of it and DNF. I only made it this far bc I had it on audible and I was driving for 16 hours. Same with the other books. It's too dragged out for me. Glacially dragged out. I refuse to finish and I won't be reading the next book.
The adventure continues. I still think that these books are WAY too long, but they don't feel tedious. I don't really mind reading everything, but I think shaving off some of the story might make it feel more epic. This third story in the Adrift series has are characters divided into two times/places. Chris, Maria, and Bud have returned to modern times, and they are in a heap of trouble because their story doesn't make a ton of sense, especially since they aren't actually telling the true story. The present has changed because of the actions everyone has taken in the past, and now Chris is dealing with two sets of memories ... those from his real past and those from the "new" past that was created after the changes were made in the past. It was interesting. I really think that this story works best when you don't try too hard to make all of the laws of physics and time/space continuum stuff work logically. You just have to roll with things, and that allows you to enjoy the ride. I will say that I had gotten used to there being more "voices" telling the story in book two, and I prefer that. I really enjoyed it when the story drifted back to Chris's story told in 3rd person narration. I liked Alaina's 1st person narration well enough, but I think I would have enjoyed hearing more varied thoughts. I felt like Jack was pushed into the background too much in this story. I wanted more of him. Still, it was a good continuation of the series. A shorter and more tight book would have warranted four strong stars, but I'm giving this three. I liked it. I just wanted more depth told in fewer pages. On to book four.
This book, like the first 2, is just okay. I enjoy the time travel aspect, but I really can't stand the over the top ridiculous declaration of love scenes. Not to mention the many sex scenes. The wedding ceremony scenes were also too drawn out. I dont need word for word descriptions of the entire ceremony! I was hoping this story would wrap up by the 3rd book, but no. I guess now there will be a 4th? Will it ever end? Overall, the book was interesting enough to keep my attention, and if it doesnt take forever for the next book to come out, I will probably read it too.

I was blessed to be a beta reader for this book and it was as phenomenal as the first two! Here is a copy of the review I gave which was chosen to be placed on the back cover of the book… “Trinity Dunn has done it again! Book 3 of the Adrift series is full of charismatic personalities, drama, mystery, conflict and love. A gripping story wrapped up in the mystery of time travel and all the complexities that follow. Ms. Dunn has again created a masterpiece with her amazing ability to bring life to each and every one of her characters!”
Every time I think I know where the story is going I’m thrown for a loop. I love the unpredictability 🖤 I’m so sad there’s only two more books in the series.
I was lucky enough to beta read for this book and I was so happy I got chosen. This is by far one of my favorite series! The third installment has love, loss, adventure, mystery, time travel, twists and turns, literally everything you hope for! I cannot wait to see how the rest of the series goes! Things have happened with time and I’m so intrigued!
Adrift Series, Bk 3, EBK-M, Kindle, @ 2022, Read 9/7/22, Fiction, Mystery, Time-travel, Romance. Three cross back into present day, working to complete assigned tasks, causing much speculation among the FBI, and present day family members, then attempt to return to the 1700's and the friends they left behind. 4☆'s = Very Good. I'm enjoying this far-fetched series, and am looking forward to the fourth, probably Nov. or Dec. of 2022, "A Reflection of the Sky on the Sea".
This is an excellent series. The storyline is great snd I had a hard time putting it down.
My only complaint has nothing to do with the story. It would be awesome if proofreading was more accurate. One example is using “distinguished” for “extinguished.”
Otherwise, I am looking forward to book 4. It’s hard not to get attached to the characters.
OK, so this one is only getting a 4 star from me because a large chunk of the first half of the book was very difficult for me to get through. While I was able to fly through the first and second book, the first half of this one took me days.
HOWEVER, once Anna died, my head was back in the game. And when the necklace happened???? BRO!!! Fully 100% flying through it. God damn. My reading notes/updates after that are wild lmao
I loved that they went back to the island. I loved the almost-dual-timelines thing that was happening again thanks to Chris's POV. Loved that some more folks from the future have been dragged into it. All the Perez drama was so anxiety-inducing.
The ending was good. I don't think anything will compare to the ending of book 1, but this was a great segue into the next one. Part of me is excited to see what they have to go through to stop them, but I'll admit that part of me is also a little worried. Based on my reception to the first half of this book, I fear the island is inherent to my enjoyment and I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with another ship-heavy book.
Will I still power-through? Absolutely. I love all of these characters and the story so far. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for them.

Let's talk a bit here about this books shortcomings. For one - too much of this story is told in Alaina's voice. Book 2 excelled when it changed voices for large portions to a narrator of sorts. Secondly - the plot didn't advance at a decent pace. There were too many mundane island and regular life events and not enough plot movement. This made the book skimmable at points - never a good sign. I loved the overall story - we know the characters - yet, we didn't want every day life and every day issues - we wanted the adventure and the time travel part. This particular book went too deep into some of the characters inner thoughts - especially Alaina's - and further it didn't quite that romance feel at all. Yes, there were weddings - but they happened at what ...page 1200 and 1500 of the overall series? This book failed because the author forgot the appeal of this series. Will i read the conclusion - absolutely - and I can only pray that it moves along with plot and some of the relationships rather than the minutiae this one did.
The three books all kept me in suspense. Love all the characters. The plot is interesting and different from anything I have read. I don’t usually like science fiction but loved these. I do have two negatives. I don’t like series that are just a continuation of one book to the other but these were such cliffhangers I had to keep reading. My big complaint is why are so many of todays authors inserting so much graphic sex (pages and pages) in their books? I manage to leaf thru those pages but I don’t like it. One book I read recently had a deleted chapter you could read if you wanted to. I suspected it was steamy sex scenes so chose not to read it. That may be a solution for those of us not interested in such scenes. Other than those negatives they are a great read.
Remnants of Tides of Time: The Adrift Series Book 3 is by Trinity Dunn. Finally, all the survivors of the plane are together; but not in their own time. They are in 1774. Adriana is now with Jack Valmont and has twins. Her husband, Chris, is now with Maria, the stewardess. However, their lives are still in danger. They are at the mercy of Juan Josef. Juan and his boys were transported to this time by an identical storm. They need to get back to the future to change history back so Juan can get his wife and life back. If he gets his life back, what will happen to Adriana, Jack, and the others? They have managed to send Chris, Maria, and Bub back; but have no idea if they have helped anything or made things worse. Until Chris gets back, they have to rely on their own resources to stay alive. Are they running out of time?
I started the first book thinking it was a stand alone because it was divided into Books. As I approached the end I realized there must be more. And I couldn't wait! I dived into the second book and loved it. Now I have finished the third book and I realize that a fourth book is needed. Oh please, Trinity, write fast. I love this story. The characters have all come to life. The part where a baby died I cried. I have lived through that nightmare myself and the actions afterward are quite believable. The island intrigues me. I almost want to find it and live there for a while. But I'm afraid I will drive you crazy looking for that next book. I didn't want this to end but now that it has I need more
Story 3 1/2. Narration 5 stars. The story is well written and the characters are well developed. Time travel stories can be mind boggling. This one is no different. I think the author does a great job sewing time-lines together. My only issues are of my opinion only and not anything the author necessarily did wrong. I adore Maria. I wish more of the story followed her instead of Alayna. Perfect Alayna with no flaws drove me crazy. I also feel like the breastfeeding was a bit over the top. I get it. I just don't want to keep reading about it. Good grief. Before I get attacked by the breast feeders club of America, that's just my opinion. Breast feed away. There's nothing wrong with it, I just don't want to keep reading about it. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Just when I think these books are too ridiculous to continue I end up continuing. This is lost with a lot of sex and some pirates thrown in. I like post apocalyptic and stumbled across the first thinking that’s what it was. No it’s more plane crash turns into ocean adventure turns into romance turns into swashbuckling. It’s not a comedy but at some points I did laugh at the crazy of it all. Despite this I had to keep reading because I’m now invested in some of these characters. It’s like watching a grade b movie that you can’t tear yourself away from. I’m continuing these last few books although I’ll be skipping and skimming to get to the end. Some of the bodice ripping is just a little much for someone who’s not a true romance fan.
Double WOZA !!!! From one moment to the next, this book keeps you on your toes !!! As Alaina, Lilly, Jack , Jim, Bruce and Bud , and the children along with Kyle, and his love deal with the 17th century pirate, Juan Josef and his family and crew, so much happens in a short amount of time !!! High highs and lower lows made my jaw drop several times !!! Chris, Maria, and Bud have their work cut out for them , as they navigate a way back to their own time. And many , many changes and outcomes had me on the edge of my seat, reading WAYYY past my bedtime !!! I'm so very happy that I bought the whole series , and I'm off to the next book in this amazing series !!!!
I really enjoyed this series and was looking forward to the final book, but surprise, now there is a fourth book on its way.
This book had some really riveting sections and then there were sections that were slow and monotonous. There were so many subplots going on that at times it was confusing.
The last few chapters were very good and I couldn’t read them fast enough and then——it just ended. You couldn’t even call it a cliff-hanger, it was more like an unfinished chapter.
Anyway, I still gave it four stars and will read the next book but I hope it will be more polished and focused and edited better than this one.
This book had me at the edge of my seat all the way! The character development and flow of the story marvelous.
About 20 percent of the book all I could think was whats is Alina doing?? Ugh I was ready to knock some sense into her. Chris, oh he was about to get it too with his crazy Maria. I want to like them together but I’m still not there. Jim, oh he is to die for 😍. I just hope his and Lilis story doesn’t change, they are so good for each other. Bud, he is the grandfather everyone needs and he’s such and underrated character! I want more of Cece and Juan jr. Opps spoiler alert 🚨
OMG! Can this author not afford a decent editor yet? The grammar, spelling, misuse of words, overly long sentences, etc are driving me to drink! “Aired” instead of “erred” as an example. I’m no expert, and I don’t usually read romances, but these errors jumped out at me through all three books. The premise and story are great. Some parts flow really well. It’s almost as if more than one person is writing this. I’m a sucker for plot twists, so that kept me reading. I enjoy all the characters except the four main ones who are fairly unlikeable and neurotic and emotionally immature. However, I will certainly read the next book.
“Whatever we were, be it replacements of our original selves or just remnants on the tides of time, we were together, and there was nothing else I cared to be.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️
If Maria could not be so annoying I might give this book another star. Maria and Chris are just terrible. Forced. And this Chris with Maria… who is he? Chris doesn’t seem the type to beg and bow down to someone. Totally off character.
This may have been my least favorite book in the series. Very long and unnecessarily drawn out. I will keep reading this series through because I love the plot but I need this next book to be better.
Trinity Dunn has done it again with her third installment of The Adrift Series. Remnants on the Tides of Time is a refreshing breath of air. I found myself with butterflies in my stomach all the way through and it kept me on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next! Just when you think you have it figured out, this author throws you a curve ball that you could not have imagined. Congratulations on a job well done! Looking forward to more!
Ugh I have a hard time rating this. This series is definitely a different genre for me, but I enjoy the plot and characters of this series however it feels sooooooo dragged out.
I pushed through this one because I needed to know what happened, only to find out there is a fourth book and a fifth not yet released. I don’t think I can read 2 more 600 page books that don’t need to be 600pgs to get the character development and plot across appropriately….
