I love to write books about living a fabulous life without spending a lot of money.
I adore mindset work and how we get to be happier and more successful just from looking at things from a different angle. We get to change our circumstances if we want to, and change our thoughts as well.
My goal when I write my books is to provide inspiration, ideas, and reminders for my readers so that they can wear their rose-tinted sunglasses as they live their life. Just like I do!
I have found that everything works out better when you are positive as much as possible. When you expect things to work out for the best. When you have gratitude for all you have. And when you are always looking at how to make your life better, and richer (in all ways). In doing all these things you are elevating the happiness levels of those around you as well as yourself.
Of course life isn't perfect and we all go through sad or difficult times, however I believe when we are starting from a base level of positivity, it makes those times easier to bear.
I love the saying attributed to Queen Elizabeth II's private secretary, who told her that her job was to spread a carpet of happiness wherever she went. I have taken this on as my own life's motto and with my writing too.
I hope you enjoy reading my books and get loads of golden nuggets from them. Happy reading and please let me know your thoughts or leave a review!
I read this a few months ago, more than once, because I kept going back over a few tips I found particularly inspiring. The word "budget" makes me cringe, but this book is not about deprivation or cutting coupons or how to make fifty meals with lentils. It's really about your mindset and how to cultivate the feeling of luxury within yourself.
I usually have one of Fiona's books going in the background to my main reading, to dip in and out of. They really help me to get and keep out of a rut and give me ideas to try out in my life, particularly regarding self-care and styling.
I’ve known about Fiona Ferris’s writing for years and never let myself splurge on one of her books until now. I’ve already started two more in the week or so since I finished this one.
Believe all of the five star reviews here. This guide to infusing your life with luxury without overspending has so many smart ideas, you’ll be able to take action right away. But it’s not just the practical tips — Fiona’s warmth and positivity can really change your point of view and your mood.
This is the kind of book you can keep on your nightstand and revisit every so often for a bit more inspiration or simply to elevate your mindset with thoughts like, “When it comes to creating your most luxurious daily experience, the most important thing is that you take extra care and attention to the details of your life, making everything as lovely as you can.”
Fiona is so good at getting to the basics, then showing how those basic ideas elevate you! She offers common sense ideas that we don't always stop to realize. I felt charged up with every few suggestions. Why am I not doing these things to enhance a feeling of simple luxury? Some examples that I took on right away: play your music, and I have a large collection of CDs that I was ignoring. I played them and lifted my spirits as I danced around my home space. Make up remover was another helpful tip worth a purchase. Find cool art from thrift shops. And, get a cleaning lady if you need one, which I did. Happily! A terrific small book of great ideas. I suggest to keep it handy. Fiona has the right attitude. Totally inspirational!
As always, I love Fiona's books. They are always full of simple inspiration that's very doable for living a great life on a regular budget. She writes the kind of books that need to be highlighted and underlined and revisited over the years, when you need a refresher course on inspiration.
Ok this was just a silly kindle unlimited download for a one hour flight when I didn’t want to have to think that much. But. I really liked it! I live a pretty good life anyway but I appreciated the tips and already do some of them. It’s like a soothing read when you want some tips to feel better but don’t want to read a magazine that is quickly dated and always wants you to buy stuff.
I thought this was a good reminder to enjoy the little things and luxury is not a one size fits all. Some things in the story were kind of a no brainer but others it was just finding a spark of motivation that you can do the small things to help boost your life. Most importantly, do the “luxurious” things for YOU and know what your passions are. This can help your life feel more rich.
Just what I was looking for, a great little motivating book for everyday reading. The bonus 50 tips at the end were a lovely touch, thank you! I have all Fiona’s books and recommend to anyone looking to elevate their life a little at a time. Niamh in Ireland
I love Fiona's books, but this one was especially inspiring. She not only provided great new ideas, she reminded us of all the ways we can upgrade our lives and live luxuriously even on a small budget. Thank you, Fiona!
So motivating and uplifting. In these times reading a book that let you dream a little is more important than one realizes. Thank you Fiona. For another nice book to lift my spirit. 😊
Fiona's books never let me down! They're light, easy and quick to read and highly motivating. When I'm in a slump with nonfiction, I know I can count on one of her books to pull me out. I can't recommend these enough!
Lots of great ideas to get a fresh reset. We all changed our habits in the pandemic but it's time to put on nicer clothes, some lipstick and perfume and get out there!
This book is chock full of thoughtful ways to level-up the luxury in your life. Even if you do some of these already, it’s a good reminder. I definitely learned many new ways to appreciate what I have. And I loved the bonus tips at the end!
I combed Kindle for other titles , since there were so many I then went online to my library and was super disappointed when I could only find one title but I put a hold on it.
A very inspirational read with practical ideas easily implemented into daily life. Great reminders of how to be awake to the beauty that is available to us if we Can be aware and reach for it!
I liked this simple short book very much. There are inspiring reminders to value and enjoy what you currently have but also how to inexpensively take things up a notch. All in a practical simple way.
An up beat book on living the luxurious life. I had gotten a little down on myself and needed a reminder on how to live the life I wanted, this book got me thinking on the right track.
She has some decent tips but a lot of her writing is about being your most extreme feminine self. I think it could have been better titled so the reader knew that coming in, although the cover should have been a warning i guess.
Fiona had some great ideas in her book. It felt like once her list was exhausted, she started rambling. And at one point it turned political, which is very un-chic. I liked the book for the most part, though.
A friend gave me this book for an escape and little bits of inspiration. Fun, light read about little things that can help you feel you have a life of abundance and luxury without spending the money.
This little book was a pleasant surprise. It’s an absolute treasure trove of inspiration for making everyday life more elevated. I love so much of what the author had to say in this. So many lovely tips for living a better life overall.
I am very surprised and delighted by this little treasure of a book. There are so many inspiring and creative ideas, that I can’t wait to start incorporating into my daily life. Very cute, will read again for doses of inspiration.
I loved this book it’s exactly what I needed since retiring from my 40 year job.. Fiona teaches us we don’t have to have a lot of money to live a calm, orderly luxurious life… I will keep this book on my night stand and refer back to it. My next book will be another by Fiona!
