Note to self: never ever lose your pants while at the town’s lookout point…
I’m a former bad boy turned one of the newest cops in Crescent Cove. No matter what, I’m determined to earn the respect of my fellow cops—and my law enforcement family, including my older brother Brady—as the new guy.
My new next door neighbor is also my new sister-in-law. She’s smoking hot, but her personality is as combustible as the blowtorch I use to create my ice sculptures.
I should stay far, far away.
But she’s gorgeous, funny and smart. Plus, she’s just about the only one in this town as wild as me.
We dared each other to do something crazy.
Naked crazy.
And after an unexpected night that nearly got us cited for public lewdness, now she’s having my baby…
Author’s note: Seductive cop Maverick McNeill is new to the force, but he’s prepared to use his handcuffs if necessary. Cop Daddy Next Door is a standalone accidental pregnancy romantic comedy with a happily-ever-after ending and no cliffhanger.

It is very dangerous to have sex in Crescent Cove... when two people who since they met for the first time provoke each other, leaving sparks, I already knew that this will end up in bed, or in the truck , danger in sight.
Vanessa and Maverick will become family since his brothers Tabitha and Brady are getting married, but attraction is strong, very strong, but the hate relationship lasts very little... Van's insecurity towards men is broken down by the sweetest man she has ever lived with. Mav earns the trust and love of the most suspicious of the sisters.
Another great story from Taryn Quinn in this city where everything ends in babies... And love desired or not, but with great happiness.
There's nothing that will put a smile on my face like a visit to Crescent Cove! Cop Daddy Next Door was a fun story revolving around Maverick McNeill, local hottie police officer and younger brother of Officer Brady McNeill and his fiance Tabitha's twin sister Vanessa. Van and Mav may seem like oil and water from the outside but what they really are is fire and ice! These two opposites really have a lot of things in common and if they can just stop arguing long enough to find out how to create something wonderful out of the fact that they are not only new neighbors but they're also meant to be more. I loved their story. It was funny, spicy, silly and a great addition to the series. It was told from dual POV and it stands alone however the series is truly best read in order due to the interconnecting characters.
Vanessa's the free spirit who lives in her van. Maverick (love the name!) is the newest cop in Crescent Cove. Sounds like a non match, but Crescent Cove has a way of bringing together the most unlikely of people. It also has a way of bringing about lots of babies, and that's exactly what's happened with this adorable couple. Will Mav be able to get past Van's walls, her insecurities and distrust?
I swear, I love Crescent Cove even more every time this writing duo releases another story in this zany, sweet, baby-happy town! Maverick is a sweetheart with a er badge, and Van is his perfect foil, the one who drives him crazy in the best kinds of ways. I adored them together, every delicious, quirky, fun page, and can't wait for more babies and more love from the residents of Crescent Cove.

Taryn Quinn’s Cop Daddy Next Door is a sweet but spicy surprise baby book. Cop Daddy Next Door is a Crescent Cove romance where a baby population explosion is happening. Resident gossip feels it might be due to the water, but no one knows the answer. Venessa is the twin sister of Tabitha, who is marrying Mavericks’ policeman brother. Maverick and Van didn’t get along initially, but chemistry arcs between them with each touch. Maverick is a rock-steady policeman, while Vanessa is a free spirit that lives in a van. Due to her sister, Tabitha, getting married and soon giving birth to a baby girl, Vanessa promised to stick around to help in the bakery and to be her baby coach. Finding out Vanessa is the owner of the undeveloped lot next to his home sends Maverick into a spin (of lust). How their story spins into passion and romance is worth the time picking up this book to read. Always a HEA with no cliffhanger. Taryn Quinn always delivers when it comes to spicy romance! I love every single book they have written!
Maverick and Vanessa are neighbours who claim to not like each other, especially as they will soon be related!! A live hate relationship that can only lead to one thing... This book is another installment in the Crescent Cove series. It's a great read as we dive back into the cove and meet back up with the other characters who make this town so fun to be a part of. Maverick is hot new cop, trying to prove himself to the force and big brother Brady. The problem is, pocket sized Vanessa is more then happy to keep him in trouble and on his toes. A sexy and fun read. These ladies always write with a great sense of humour. They keep you laughing, get you all steamy and never disappoint with each new character they continue to introduce us to
Ok, Van and Maverick are seriously hot together! This is a quick read, mostly because you don’t want to put it down. Van is a hot mess who actually has her life under control. Maverick appears in control, he is a cop after all, but he’s also fighting against his former reputation of not quite being the responsible one.
What I love about this couple, is that even though everyone around them thinks they don’t have it together, when they get together, all the pieces just click into place.
If you enjoy the Crescent Cove series, you’re going to want to add this one to your collection. And if you haven’t, you should definitely give it a try!
Cop Daddy Next Door by Taryn Quinn (the excellent writing duo of Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott) is the thirteenth in the always delightful Crescent Cove series where babies are essentially a given. Maverick McNeill and Vanessa Monaghan are nearly family, given that his brother Brady and her twin Tabitha are getting married. Plus they’re now neighbors since she’s just bought the adjoining property…
Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott continue to bring all the laughs and all the feels in this terrific series. While Van and Mav start out as somewhat frenemies, more positive feelings quickly develop, as does a certain test result! It will come as no surprise but with much joy and laughter that these two discover the charm that Crescent Cove holds and are ready for their own bells and baby! I love every visit to this fun fictional town!
Back to Crescent Cove! I love this town Taryn Quinn created. Every time there is a new book I feel like I'm visiting it again and all the friends I've come to know throughout this series. Maverick and Vanessa's story is amazing. They know each other because their siblings are getting married, but besties they are not. From the minute he finds out she owns the land next door I could feel the tension in more ways than one between them. Their chemistry is hot and their story had me rooting, laughing, crying and loving it all!!!
Welcome back to Crescent Cove! Vanessa's style, snark, and potty mouth have a way of getting under Maverick McNeil's skin. While Maverick is trying to gain respect from his brother and the Crescent Cove police force, Vanessa has him testing his limits. This is a fun book with some steamy windows! You also get a little more of Tabitha, Vanessa's twin, and Brady, Maverick's brothers along with quick visits with other residents of Crescent Cove. This story is full of sweet, sexy, baby magic that only Crescent Cove can deliver.
This continues to be such a great series to read! I love the return of the characters from the previous books not to mention the entire small town feel of this series. Maverick and Vanessa were well written characters that had amazing chemistry. The 'enemies' to lovers feel to this pair was perfect for them as at times the tension between the pair was palpable. Overall, this was a good read and a great addition to this series that I would recommend to others.
This delightful novel is a return to the authors’ community of Crescent Cove, where things are woo-woo but don’t necessarily go bump in the night. Maverick and Vanessa have met before, and really acted as if they didn’t like each other. But there’s a sexual sizzle between them that they can’t just ignore, and before you know it, Crescent Cove’s magic is in play! The writing is HOT, HOT, HOT, so 18+ please. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for a voluntary, honest review.
A truly fun book to read. Reading a Crescent Cove book is always enjoyable. So many of the previous book character's make cameos, it's like you know the whole town and want to move there. Just don't drink the water!! Maverick and Vanessa are a great couple.
Lucky #13! Cop Daddy Next Door is the 13th book in the Crescent Cove series and I swear, the books just get better and better!!
Frenemies. That's what Vanessa and Maverick seem to be. Especially when Mav finds out she's "moved" next door, with her eye sore of a bus. See Vanessa likes to roam. She has no desire to settle down. But hey neither does Maverick. Oh if only they didn't take it lightly that they live in Crescent Cove. But fate has a way of stepping in because they have this sizzling hot AF chemistry. *fans self*.
There is just something about these two characters that makes you root for them. They are just so meant for each. They make you feel all the feels.... I laughed with them, and I cried with them. I fell in love with their story and I hated that I got to the end!
3.75stars—COP DADDY NEXT DOOR is the thirteenth instalment in Taryn Quinn’s contemporary adult CRESCENT COVE erotic, romance series. This is Crescent Cove police officer Maverick McNeill, and artist Vanessa Monaghan’s story line. COP DADDY NEXT DOOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Maverick and Vanessa) COP DADDY NEXT DOOR follows the frenemies to lover relationship between police officer Maverick McNeill, and artist Vanessa Monaghan Maverick McNeill’s brother and fellow police officer Brady is about to marry the woman he loves Tabitha Monaghan, a woman who is very, very pregnant but Tabitha’s twin sister Vanessa is the bane of Maverick’s existence, and is currently our hero’s new neighbor. The sexual attraction between Vanessa and Maverick is palpable, and one night together is interrupted by the local police, and the possibility of another Crescent Cove baby. What ensues is the preparations for Brady and Tabitha’s upcoming wedding and baby, and the building romance and relationship between Maverick and Vanessa.
Crescent Cove is all about babies and love but neither Maverick nor Vanessa had ever considered one or the other.Maverick battled his attraction to the woman who pushed all of his buttons; and Vanessa was willing to offer one night together, a night that would change their entire future.
The relationship between Maverick and Vanessa is a frenemies to lover; a reluctant attraction between two people connected by marriage and blood but an attraction that was clear and apparent to everyone. With the possibility of a baby, and the joining of two families, Vanessa and Maverick threw caution to the proverbial wind, and follow their hearts to their own happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Several of the previous story lines couples return as secondary and supporting characters including Brady and Tabitha: Luna and Caleb; Gideon and Macy; as well as Christian and Honey whose story is told next.
COP DADDY NEXT DOOR is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is heart warming and entertaining; the romance is hot and heavy; the characters are energetic and captivating.
The Crescent Cove hex strikes again! No one in this town can have s.ex without an unplanned baby 😂. This time it’s Vanessa and Maverick. Previously, it was her twin sister and his brother… even after he’d had a vasectomy. This was a more common occurrence: a no-protection-used hook up.
Maverick is the baby brother of the family, and often talked down to as if he can’t adult. He’s joined their police force, bought a house, but still not recognized for his accomplishments and gets some dressing downs by his big brother that were pretty harsh. Vanessa is the wild half of her twin duo. With no roots holding her down, she’s backpacked the country, travelled the world, and recently swapped her van- life van for a mini bus she plans to renovate. Being in town to support her pregnant twin, and help with her wedding planning, has her questioning her lack of roots.
I loved both of these characters individually, as well as together. They are both much more than meets the eye. They balance each other out. She brings out the fun in him, and he grounds her. They are a little fire and ice, and definitely have some conflicts in the beginning. And they both struggle with communicating at times. I absolutely adore when the H is all in, even when the h takes a while to catch up. That was definitely Maverick. He knew she was the one and that she was a flight risk, and only pushed her as much as he felt she could handle at the time. But he stayed the course and waited for her to catch up.
Being this is a series and town based on couples with unexpected babies, I was disappointed that it ended so abruptly. They had not yet announced the pregnancy to anyone, so we did not get to see that happen or find the baby’s gender or name. Or whether it was another set of twins, like Vanessa. It seemed strange that with her previous history and her fear of another miscarriage, that it would just end with her still in early pregnancy and no further information. I kept looking for another chapter or epilogue, but nothing. Up to that point, I loved the book. It felt incomplete. I did not read all the previous books, so I can’t say whether the others ended the same, but I found it disappointing.
Another cop, another dog dad, another accidental pregnancy... This town is full of dog dads 🤩
Having $ex with your sister's soon to be brother in law, that's new in this series. But it's not new that they get caught at the lookout by the same cop. The one who hates Vanessa... 🙈 God, I loved Maverick. He is so wonderful. He is a playboy, like most of the men in this town 🙈 He and Van bicker a lot 😁 Van is very fisty. I love her too. She is so different from her sister. She has a lot of secrets. About her past as well as her job. But as soon as she and Mav get involved with each other she tells him everything. And that's where Mav shows who he really is. His family thinks he is irresponsible and too young for everything. It's incredible what a huge connection Mav and Van have. I forget who said it, but babies in this town happen to the ones who are meant for each other. Yes, I think that hits it. Because this town surely has a lot of $ex, but not everyone gets pregnant immediately. Just nearly everyone 🤣
This town does not only have this huge baby boom, it also has "special" weddings and births 😱 And this time there is also a dangerous situation for the police. I mean, this is a small town and it's super safe, but right at the beginning, we have an armed robbery 😱 and a very frightened Van...
I would say this book still features Brady & Tabitha (from the previous book) a lot too. Sure with the upcoming wedding and the fact that they are brothers and twin sisters. I so love that in this series.
The Crescent Cove series from Taryn Quinn is always interesting and often amusing, but Cop Daddy Next Door was that and more. This book seemed to be more in depth than some of the other books and I appreciated that a lot. I really felt like I got to know these characters and while these two were a bit like oil and water, they were also like a moth to a flame.
With their siblings expecting a baby and getting married, and featured in an earlier book in this series, we’ve met Maverick and Vanessa (Van) before and while I suspected this pairing, I wasn’t prepared for how much I’d love these two together. Neither one was looking for a relationship especially with one another yet the pull between them was strong. I loved how Van challenged Maverick at every turn and how Maverick affected Van even if she didn’t want to admit it. What I loved most is these two laughed together so much, they told each other things they hadn’t told anyone else and despite the fact it could be very complicated if they hadn’t worked out they didn’t let that stop them.
I’m not sure what I loved most; Maverick falling head over heels, Van’s interesting and lucrative profession (not to mention her way cool bus reno), or the fact these two fell into a relationship without a lot of angst or fanfare.
Full of laughter, fun, sexy times, and several surprises Cop Daddy Next Door was a rollicking good time.
This may be #13 in the series but it never seems to get old! This story can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading his brother's story before reading this one. Just so you can see these 2 characters from the start. In this one we get Maverick and Vanessa's story. Maverick is the newest cop in town just trying to step out of his bad boy roots and from behind his brother's shadow. But while he is trying to prove himself, Vanessa keeps dragging him into trouble. Vanessa is the twin sister of Tabitha who is a free spirit with a huge sense of fun. And after promising her sister that she would stay and help her with the bakery, she wants nothing more than to pull Maverick into trouble-just for fun.
I absolutely loved this story! Vanessa and Maverick cracked me up from the start but they also have some super steamy times! These two start off not liking each other but the sparks were already there to build upon. Their banter back and forth was funny but they also just fit together in ways that I doubt either of them were expecting. It was fun and engaging all while keeping me reading and wanting to know more! I can't wait for more in this series as I know that I will have a great read!
Cop Daddy Next Door is the 13th book in the Crescent Cove series from this fabulous writing duo. It can be read as a standalone book, but really, you should read all of them -- they are just that good!
Vanessa and Maverick are to be in-laws soon, as her sister is marrying his brother. They claim not to like each other, but when they turn out to be neighbors, well, that lie starts to unravel. He's trying to make a name and reputation for himself as the newest police officer in Crescent Cove. He's got a tough row to hoe following in his brother's footsteps. She is a wandering spirit who lives in a van, but is sticking around to be her sister's birth coach.
Well, she ends up sticking around for MUCH more than that :) As always the characters have their indulge in bouts of snarky, sass, and steamy. Super steamy. And it's Crescent Cove, so you know what happens...
This was a super-easy read; I finished it on a flight from North Carolina to Nebraska. The story builds a movie in your head that sucks you in and leaves you wanting more when you get to "THE END".
I seriously cannot get enough of Crescent Cove! Every single one of the stories that Taryn Quinn has written in this series has been solid gold. I loved Maverick and Vanessa! This unlikely duo was such a hoot and so much fun to read. While this is book #13 in the series, it can be read as a standalone story but it does have some spoilers for others books so keep that in mind if you are just jumping in here.
Maverick is one of my new favorite heroes. This man has a heart of gold and such a good soul. His gentle way with Van made me swoon throughout. There was just something so special about this man! And Vanessa.....she was so much fun! Spicy and fiery, she brought adventure into Mav's life and it was so much fun to see. These two just clicked! And because this is Crescent Cove, babies abound! I loved revisiting some of my favorite couples and getting to know others better. Taryn Quinn could write 100 books in this series and I'd read them all! 5 stars
I am a big fan of this series and love taking a trip back to the Cove!! This was a fun read as Brady's little brother Maverick, and fellow police officer in Crescent Cove, finally acts on his attraction to Brady's fiance and baby momma's twin sister! I thought Tabitha was a fun character, but her twin Venessa is a riot!! Maverick has now discovered his new neighbor who is currently living in an ugly green van is Pocket Plus, his new to be sister in law Venessa. How can he resist her now that she is right next door! Venessa is an artist who is trying to fight off her urges for GQ, the hot cop and soon to be brother in law. Well here's a spoiler, it doesn't work! They have such a fun relationship that will have you laughing and I was very surprised on how sweet Maverick was. VERY hot pages to read here!
I do love a good romance. This one has a couple built in and a glimpse of a third!
Tabitha and Brody are getting hitched and the whole town is excited. Vanessa is maid of honour to her twin sister, and the fact that she gets to irritate her soon to be brother in law is icing on the cake. Maverick can't wait til the hubbub is over. But he needs to fulfil his duties as best man. When Vanessa pulls her school bus into the empty lot beside his house, he knows his life is ready for a change.
These two are so freaking cute it's almost ridiculous. Maverick knows he needs to tread carefully...but he's determined. When it hits...it hits. That Cove water is some mysterious fountain.
The peek at the end at Honey and her beau is hilarious. I can't wait for the next one.
this series just keeps getting better and better with each and every couple. it’s really giving magic especially when i’m reading it in time with the holidays.
van & mav—chefs kiss really good at this relationship thing!!! i mean you would not believe these two have been single for quite a long time! i love the little things, the forehead kisses, the hand holding inside the jacket bc cold thing… i meaaaaan it speaks volumn to how they really felt for each other. also love the reassuring words between them. how they accepted each others flaws coz nobody’s perfect but they truly are perfect for each other 🥰
i want more romance books like these!!! i want more crescent cove coupling like these. don’t ever stop writing stories like these, taryn quinn🥹
^^ this is by far, the best series i’ve ever read!!! i adore the crescent cove couples so much that every time i’m done reading one, i start to miss them??? my very own comfort author whenever i get disappointed with other romance author recos 🤧🥰 a definite YES PLEASE every freaking time from my fave duo: TARYN QUINN🫶🏼
Maverick McNeill is the younger brother of officer & home town newly married Brady McNeill & new to the police force in Crescent Cove. Maverick is determined to earn the respect of his fellow officer's & especially Brady.. While he is on a fine line his brother, he has a combustible relationship with his new sister-in-law Vanessa. She is as beautiful & smoking hot, as her older sister by a few minutes that my brother Brady is planning to get married & is having their first child. That's right Vanessa's a twin & my new neighbor with a personality is like the blowtorch I use to create my ice sculptures for the local business in Crescent Cove. I shouldn't have anything to do with Vanessa unless it relates to the wedding plans for Brady & Tabitha. Vanessa is gorgeous, funny, smart, talented. But she doesn't believe she deserves to be loved. Then again, either did I. Always trying to prove myself to my big brother Brady. The responsible, caring honorable one. The family guy. Wait can I be that man too? What happens when Vanessa & I combustible relationship gets physical. Now she could be pregnant? We open up about our past & could passably build a future together. All I know is that maybe it was forbidden lust in the beginning. But I have to know convince Vanessa, that she deserved to be loved just like her twin Tabitha. Everyone around her knows she special but her. I don't want her to leave. Once we finally admit there is something more than lust. The woman that I admire & want to marry in our such short time of being together. Surprises me. Vanessa, has always felt she doesn't deserves her Prince charming & her happily ever after. Well, I'm determined to prove her wrong. I guess I did, because the next thing I know I'm being purposed too. Read Vanessa & Max's unconventional love story
Book 13 in the Crescent Cove series and still as much sweet and spicy shenanigans as ever! I know I say this every time, but best one yet! Maverick and Vanessa are the flighty siblings that no-one expects to step up, become responsible or plant roots, but when they find each other they discover that's exactly what they want. I always enjoy the previous Cove characters making an appearance, Macy was always my favourite so I was very happy to get a little snippet of Macy attitude in here. There were some newer characters mentioned who I imagine will start forming some of the future books and I cannot wait!
I just cannot get enough of this series! This time we are getting to know about Maverick, or Mav to those who know him better, and Vanessa, or Van, Pocket Plus, or Chaos Twin (whatever she is being called). These two start off by rubbing each other the wrong way and then knowing their brother and twin sister are getting married in the near future they cannot help themselves they rub each other in all the right ways. Don't they know that what happens in Crescent Cove when things are not covered makes a baby? These two are perfection. Their banter and craziness are enough to bring out all the feels. I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Keep them coming!!
You know straight away when you're reading a first rate, engaging book. The authors have written about a quaint lakeside community with amazing characters and you feel as one with their stories. Taryn Quinn are said authors and it is fabulous to be back in Crescent Cove! This time it's Maverick and Vanessa's story we enjoy. It is obvious their attraction to each other. The road they follow has it's challenges. Insecurities, laughs, tears, passion and hotness with a little sprinkle of magic in the water, combine together creating a precious "cargo". Cop Daddy Next Door is a delightful read and I recommend the entire series.
This book was sent to me by the author for an honest review. Mav and Van are so perfect together. They're funny and the chemistry is hot. Normally the heroine of the story gets on my nerves but Van kept me entertained the entire book. Vanessa isn't used to putting down roots but for some reason, she decides to put some down next to Mav. He doesn't want her next door so he comes up with a bet to get her to move. Doesn't take long before he drops it because he really likes her. Things progress quickly between them and it scares Van. Mav is fine with things but he needs to convince Van that is in it for the long haul.
I adore this couple. They are total opposites but work so deliciously. Maverick is torn because not only is Vanessa a spit fire but she is his future in law. His brother and her sister are about to be married. Then she moves in next door, sort of. She buys the land next door and parks her eye sore of a bus on it. Now both of them haven’t really set down roots anywhere until Mav buys a house in the Cove and Van contemplates staying. Their attraction couldn’t be stronger even though they have a frenemy vibe. I loved their banter. I loved their heat. I loved how they navigate through this book.
She ran up to jump on top of me as she did most mornings, but Mav scolded her gently to be careful of my belly. And miracle of all miracle, there were no more waterworks. At least for now. Being blissfully happy was exhausting, but I’d deal with it somehow. Mav shook his head as Francie settled against me and adoringly licked my face. “I see where I rank around here.” “I’ll lick you if you want.” “Oh, I want.” He stroked my hair. “By the way, we’re keeping that bus.” “Is that so?” “It’s so. We’ll need somewhere to escape from the kid to make another one.”
