As a child I did not read unless Pokémon cards count. It wasn’t until middle school when my mother played a trick on me, she got me entranced in the Harry Potter books. She would read the first few to me before switching to reading me a chapter and leaving the book out for me to read if I wanted more. Thus started my love of reading, at least in part. I still didn’t go out of my way to find books to read and after high school I could count on one hand how many books I would read each year. Life continued like this for over five years before I was hooked on an anime and searched out its light novel. This led to the phase where I was reading at least a couple books a month to now where I have gone through over 300 books in the last year.
Now I am putting my own work in to the world while following my own mantra. To write for yourself or you will never love what you write. When I first started to put my ideas into words I was surprised to find that those I shared it with loved it. This led me on to the road of putting out my own book for the world to see. Thank you to everyone who has or will help and support me in making this dream a reality.
If you liked the previous books then this is just as good as the plot thickens inside the game and outside, if this was a rollercoaster i would say we are still climbing up ready for the january launch of the guild in real world, i love this series and am happy the author has the chance now to do this full time and continue such a great series. I hope for more great books in the future.
Book five is excellent, it is a bit short and seems to be setting the scene for the next books , FAE is developing really well and I see the importance of the "real" world development of the guild , I must admit that the final chapter made me nauseous but that entire story thread may become clear later and I'm simply ignoring it for the mean time , none of them except Xeal are particularly interesting characters anyway.
While this is partially a story about growing powerful in a VRMMORPG, most of the growth is in the character's guild. Any personal growth is the B plotline. It reminds me of mysteries like Sherlock Holmes where the criminal hides their actions with subterfuge, but the main character outsmarts them at every turn.
I keep enjoying this series as very little changes about how the story is told. The pacing and growth are consistent. The system is kind of ignored which is somewhat bothersome, with stats and things being pretty much ignored. It still isn’t a deal breaker for me and I still enjoy watching FAE grow.
Another great book in the series. I cannot wait to see if he takes it into an audiobook. I look forward to the next book in the series. And the cover art is well done as well
I am really enjoying the series and I hope for many more. Unfortunately my fears about halloween came true which dampens my interest some. It just isn’t a plot line I care about and hope the standard tropes don’t ruin what has been in the books up to now.
The girls unacceptable behavior tarnished the book for me
The way they kept on acting like they were pregnant was a forgone conclusion, but didn't take a pregnancy test asap. It just hit too hard at some experiences an ex of mine went thru dealing with a controlling, manipulate nutjob, anyone sane would have seen all the red flags and have ran screaming, only pausing long enough to file restraining orders.
Alex continues to expand his guild guard his guild and have fun ways to spend with his friends .
Alex fights against odds as one noble house sets out to destroy the FAE guild along with Alex's death . Workshops attack his guild 250,000 player's strong .But all is in vain as the attack happens for Alex has a surprise waiting for them all . As all are layed unconscious an prisoned for some other's dealt differently . Plus on the lighter side Alex an his friends start learning kendo, swing dance and another martial arts style of class recommend reading excellent series .
Honestly my only criticism is the length of each one. They are more like chapters in how they are “packaged” But that being said, I seriously can’t stop flipping pages. The take on this genre is sufficiently detailed and different from normal to make it one of top contenders in a sea of mediocrity imo 😅 but what do I know. Read the first one and you won’t be able to stop
I have finally figured out why I keep reading these books!
Which is great, it means I can finally stop. I couldn't see why anyone played the game. It is unbalanced and broken. It will always limit independent players and reward mass corporations. It messes with your head. It is a terrible game being foisted upon us as a cheap plot device to facilitate a weak story.
The series as a whole has been very entertaining and, although a bit slow at times, has kept my interest. My biggest gripe so far in the series is how quickly it went from a couple girlfriends to suddenly pregnant x2. It feels a little rushed as I find it hard to believe that Alex was so carefree in their sexual escapades.
I think the character Zeal having multiple wives is just crazy. I like that the plot is letting him get away with it. I personal get a laugh out of what is has to Juggle in the way he does. Series is still well thought out with lots of action.
Alex... so damn smart! Guilds want what he has and want him for their purposes, but they need to out smart him. He just loves the games. His 2 girlfriends in real life might be pregnant? Oh Boy!
