Orcas Island #3

Sunset Tides

The line between love and disdain is so thin that crossing it is easy—and potentially devastating…

Lucy Woodley is ready for a new challenge. Lately, everything—including her job at a local farm—has started feeling too routine. But then a stubborn, focused, and entirely too handsome hedge fund manager shows up and gives her more of a challenge than she ever could’ve bargained for.

Rob Coolidge has no interest in small town living. He’s here to make money and earn a promotion—even if he has to destroy a family farm to do it. Business always comes first. But the more time he spends with the tenacious, loyal, and distractingly lovely Lucy, the less appealing his business becomes…

He’s on a mission. She’ll do anything to stop him. The battle for Orcas Island is on. But when all is said and done, will Rob decide that winning Lucy’s heart is the only victory worth celebrating? Or will these polar opposites lose their only shot at happily ever after?

Lucy Woodley is restless. She is use to jumping from job to job and her current job at a local farm is becoming routine and just a little boring. Just as she is ready to quit and move on, she finds out the farm is in financial trouble, and this gives Lucy just what she needs to feel useful again. When she takes on executive Rob Collidge who is trying to takeover the farm for the land, she gets more than she bargains for. Just as she thinks she has won the battle, she finds herself embroiled in yet another takeover, and this one is personal. Mr. Rob Coolidge has no idea what he has just done and Lucy vows to take him and his company down. There is only one problem. The more time Lucy spends with Rob, the more she starts to like him. Can they separate business and pleasure?

Author Amelia Addler takes us on another journey on Orcas Island with this third book in the series. It was fun to read Lucy and Robs story. The two characters connect yet frustrate each other and they are so witty that I found myself giggling at their antics. It was also fun to revisit characters from the previous novels and see where life has taken them. This is a heartwarming series with some twists and turns which kept me turning pages and not wanting the stories to end. Thank you so much Amelia Addler for an advanced copy, which I read and reviewed voluntarily. Come visit Orcas Island and share in the journey.

Thank you to the author for the ARC; the review is entirely my own opinion. This is the 3rd book in the Orcas Island series. I love how the author included a brief recap from the first 2 books, which is great for those who have read books 1 and 2 in the series. I do recommend that new readers start with book 1. Lucy has the wanderlust feeling again, but it is interrupted when the farm she is working for is in danger from a hedge fund manager working for someone that wants to use the farm for something entirely different. Doesn’t help that the guy is handsome! Lucy’s sister, Lillian comes back to the area with her own boyfriend troubles. Then there is a threat to Claire’s hotel. Great addition to the series and looking forward to book 4.

A strong 3.5 rating in this enjoyable series about life on Orcas Island. In this 3rd book, we follow Lucy, a strong-willed and impulsive young woman who can't seem to find what she wants to do with her life. She is now working for a local a farm and is enjoying it but starting to want to move on to something else. But, then a large company from New York comes in with plans to develop and in so doing, destroy the farm. Lucy jumps into action but can she do what is necessary? Reminded me too much of reality and how money talks without regard to the "little guy." No sex or profanity.

Sunset Tides is a clean, heartwarming, enemies-to-lovers, small town romance. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Lucy's and Rob's journey to an HEA, all the time wondering how Ms. Addler would redeem Rob. All I can say is that it is epic! There is a lot of heart and family in the book as well.

Lost interest

Unlike the previous two books in this series, Book 3 was dry and unappealing. I couldn’t get into it and finally gave up.

Cute story. Lucy is a hoot. I was worried I wouldn't like Rob, but he redeemed himself 😊 The narrators performance was amazing 👏🏽 highly recommend the audiobook (when it comes out).

This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.
Loved the story

Both main characters have wonderful backstories that affect the choices they make today. It was fun to watch them match wits and to strategize to win their battles. Their story arcs were surprising.

I loved seeing some of the characters from the previous books, and the previous series!

This was such an amazing read. I adore Amelia Addler's use of excitement in her writing. I also adore how the entire family, as well as the locals on the island, band together to support those who are being taken advantage of. This author did a really fantastic job. I heartily endorse this book.
