V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her mama over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn't happen.

IMPORTANT!!!! V.F MASON BOOKS is usually dark ones. Especially this one. BUT the romance, the relationship is NOT dark. The dark parts and mostly the dark ones is about the enemy, their family and their past like what they've been through and what made them do what they do now... If you know what I mean.... So don't worry about the romance is going to be dark to handle cause it's not though. That's why I love about this author, she/he made the romance so romantic and hot even though anything else is dark and mysterious.... But even though it's like that, that's the interesting part of the book. It made me more curious than ever, it made me emotional and have little laugh and feel the strong love chemistry too. Cause this author really do know how to make a great chemistry without a doubt. Never failed once. At first I was a bit uncomfortable reading from this author cause her books is usually dark ones and a bit heavy (at least for me its a bit though cause i read others is more dark than this) BUT then I notice that even though the book is dark, but the romance and love between the couple is amazing and hot at the same time. So it's like even though it's dark, at least the romance is great to read! If you know what I mean😁 and yes most of her books is like that too, the romance always great and not dark like anything else in the book. Not all of it are dark, just mostly though. And when I have to read the dark parts of the book, sometimes I skipped it cause my main focus is about the relationship of the couple. And like I said, the dark parts is mostly focused on other things. Not the romance and not the relationship... So don't worry!
ALSO WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE BOOK IS THAT NOT ONLY THE ROMANCE IS STRONG HOT ROMANTIC, BUT THE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT TOO. YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY A THING ABOUT THE COUPLE LIKE HERO AND HEROINE HAVE SOMEONE ELSE OR LIKES SOMEONE ELSE OR THAT TYPE OF SH*TTY THINGS... CAUSE IT'S SAFE ALL THE WAY.... ONCE THE COUPLE MEET OR SET EYES ON EACH OTHER, NO OTHERS. AND ALL LOYAL UNTILL THE END.
“Men like them do not wait years to claim the women they want, and they don’t let them get engaged to someone else. But most importantly, nothing and no one can stop them from staking their claim once they set their sights on their women.”
AND THE EPILOGUE IS A LONG ONE WHICH IS SO SATISFYING TO SEE!!!!! THE STORY IS NEVER BORING AND THE MYSTERY BEHIND IT ALL IS SO FREAKIN EXCITING!!!! THE ACTIONS ARE PRETTY COOL TOO!!!!
BTW. THIS AUTHOR IS MY TOP FIVE FAVORITE AUTHORS.... YES IN MY TOP FIVE😍😍😍 Which means I will continue with reading her/his books for forever. Without a doubt. Cause that's how much I love this author and how her/his books really made me that obsessed!!!! OBSESSED.

The story as always is well written. You really have to be patient reading V.F Mason books cause it will acquired you to patient to know the whole full story behind it all... No unnecessary childish drama. The hero is mean and angry to everybody but have a huge soft spot and huge love towards the heroine only. Like he can't breath without her, he needs like a air... The heroine is the only thing who makes him so much better....

The heroine is excited to start her new Conquest in Chicago Illinois to find her long lost twin sister that was separated from her since birth. She was very excited to do it and also a bit scared cause she done this all alone, just herself all from france where she was raised by her uncle who raised her and she called him dad. In the airport, she accidentally meet with the hero. The hero thought he saw Amalia who is the heroine's twin sister. Which is not true... And later that day when the heroine made a deal with her new friend about going to a very exquisite executive club in chicago, she meet the hero there again who actually owns the club with his best friend since kids. And that's where it all started.... The hero even goes to war after meeting the heroine again at the club because that's how much he wanted her and will do ANYTHING to have her...
‼️‼️‼️TRIGGER: HIGH ON VIOLENCE, starvation, very bad parents, drugs, alcohol, knives, hospital, killing, bullying, bloods, deaths, deceptions, human trafficking, snake (but only once and never more) and human tortured.

‼️‼️‼️SAFE ROMANTIC HOT LOVE STORY.

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS YES OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE VERY PROTECTIVE BILLIONAIRE ALPHA MALE.
The hero went through a lot downs and bad things growing up... But despite all the bad things he went through, he never once bring that to his relationship with the heroine... And even though at first and in the middle we see the hero claimed how dark he is, we get to see how he changed to be better since he found the heroine. It's so freakin romantic to see that, I even cried a bit 🥺🥺
The hero said he used to be a manwhor3 but lately nope like idk maybe couple of months? He said it was a while for him cause he was busy with his revenge plan to his enemies...
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS EXTREMELY OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE... HE ALWAYS SAY YOU ARE MINE. MINE. MINE. The hero really knows how to spice up his claim to the heroine 🥺🥺🥺

The heroine is great and sassy one, not too sassy though and sometimes she can be a bit childish when she learn new things from the hero. But I'm glad that in the end she really matured enough and become more better for the hero...

It has octavius with his new to be bride, and jimena is planning something to make sure florian grovel for her😍😍 It made me more curious than ever to read these four dark horsemen 😍😍😍😋😋😋

Do you need to read the first book from the series? Yes. So you get more understanding on what the friendship between these people begin with and how they basically are in person. And santiago story is great too, one of my faves. But a little reminder, santiago story is probably the most dark of them all though. Like I said above, it's not the love that's dark but what the characters in the santiago book been through is darker.

His journey to the man he becomes is heartbreaking and makes you want his happy ending that much more. Remi is completely obsessed with Penelope and all in from second glance, when he realizes she is not the person he assumed he was when they first met. Penelope is just wonderful. She’s the sunshine to his dark. Eternally optimistic and accepting - just what Remi needs most in his life. The chemistry between the two of them is fantastic and the smexy times super hot! This is an absolutely wonderful continuation of the Four Horseman series and there were enough breadcrumbs thrown that will make you SO excited for the next two books!

The premise always sound good, but I do not like her heros 🤷🏼♀️ Out of control nut-cases and over-dramatic blood-thirsty psychos aren’t my bag. I only want him to lose his sh*t for the h. Not just be a raging crazy person, in general. Dude, maybe get some meds and counseling? 👀🤣

Remi's War is the second installment in V.F. Mason's Four Horseman series. It follows the first book in the series, Santiago's Conquest. I enjoyed this book but can't help but notice that this book is FULL of flashbacks (almost half the story.) While I love V.F. Mason's stories, I do wish that her stories did not follow her usual (formulaic) format of flashback diary entries/flashback childhood trauma scenes. It feels a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, this author can WRITE! But her stories always follow the same format. I am OBSESSED with the the Four Horsemen series but wish they would knock my socks off.
However, I will say that I did enjoy Remi's passion for Penelope and the glimpse into Octavius and Florian's stories. 3.5 stars! ~Ratula ❤️

Remi’s War was well worth the wait and was utterly exquisite and perfect.
Remi is fighting his dark side, the side that was created by the monsters in his past, and he is okay with who he is. But when he bumps into Penelope her light blinds him and he claims her as his.
The Four Horsemen play a very important role in this story, and they stand by each other no matter what, even when one of them declares war.
V. F. Mason has written a spectacular story of love and hope, light and dark, and finding one’s peace in a world of wrongs.

This is the second installment in the Four Horseman series and I enjoyed every second of it. As always, V.F. Mason’s writing is perfect, the complex plot is spot on and so addicting. Remi’s War has all the elements of the author’s spectacular stories with possessive, obsessed, powerful and crazy heroes who are damaged beyond repair, strong heroines, action, passion, off-the-charts chemistry and unconditional love.
The three other members of the dark brotherhood, Santiago, Florian and Octavius, play an important role in this book. I love their unbreakable bond, the dynamic between them, and how they stand by each other no matter what. Men for whom compassion, mercy and reason do not exist because they thrive in the chaos they create, but are willing to do anything to protect and keep their women.

Remi is part of Four Horsemen , a group of men who oddly enough, have many sides to them -like one being a dark side. Remi wants something and is determined he'll get that thru, with Penelope. Imagine how well that's going down. Well that's happening, we are treated to entertainment with the other 3 Horsemen. Can Remi win Penelope's heart? Who's Penelope searching for? Does she find her? The passion, angst, drama, suspense, intrigue, sacrifices, romance, friendship, love and HEA will have the readers clamoring for more! I can't wait for book 3 in the 4 Horsemen series.

En verdad, no me canso de leer las historias de esta autora. Cada una tiene un romance precioso y lo mejor es que veo a personajes que conocí en otras historias que simplemente me hace amar más su universo de personajes. Eso sí lean los TW antes de comenzar la historia porque hay algunos bastante fuertecitos.

Holy hell...
This story grabbed me by the throat from the first paragraph stealing my breath until the very last page. There is something powerful about an author that can create a book like that. Every scene, every gory violent act, and every slight detail that ties the story together in not only this book but with other characters is truly inspiring. I am not sure how this author does it.
I was a bit shocked at the twist of this story. I have loved these Four Horseman since they were first introduced. I knew that Remi had demons, I just wasn't sure what they were. It was definitely a shock to find out what had been denied him and what lengths had been done to ensure he didn't have those rights. In this book, in particular, I really appreciated the history lesson on Mythology. I felt that it enhanced the story. Adding the flashbacks helped me see certain events in a different light, and the diary entries gave a depth to the story that I really appreciated because of the insight that I was able to gleam from it.
As with all of this author's leading men, Remi was wounded but he still had the capacity to love. Penelope was proof of that. I have always liked that these men find someone to calm their murderous and, oftentimes sociopathic tendencies. They aren't out there murdering all willy nilly and do have a method to their madness. I get that they need some sort of retribution or revenge. Penelope was a sweet girl and was the perfect person for Remi. He needed someone that would love and accept him, especially, after she saw his darkness. Moreover, he deserved it. I like that she saw that and was able to fill that void in him. Even the strongest man has insecurities. It was a great transition to watch. The steam in this book? And the chemistry? Sweet Holy titfire... soooo good.
My only complaint is that I wanted more of a resolution concerning the pivotal scene. I wanted brimstone and fiery death for a certain character. I, also, wished for more concerning Amelia and Penelope. I very much am excited to see Octavion and Florian get their stories next. The little hints that have been dropped in these stories have me waiting on bated breath. I, still am not sure when, or how, I discovered this author but I am ever so grateful that I did because I love to dive into the worlds that she creates. I highly recommend this book, this author, and anything that has been written by the author.

This book can be read as a standalone. While I know of at least one book already out based on one of the Four Dark Horsemen, this story gives just enough hints and drawl to make you want to go out and grab it. The small glimpses we get of the secondary characters is enough to lure you right in to all their lives. I love that from the short list of stories I have read from this author, they seem to all be connected in one way or another. Can’t wait to read all of them.
Oh boy the romance. The chemistry was lusty, mesmerizing, and immediate, from the very start, between both Penelope and Remi. No slow burn torture for these two. Nope. They lit up the pages of this amazing story and could not keep their hands off one another. And by all means that was fine by me. I am absolutely here for the romance. And if the author wants to give us an insta-love, I’ll absolutely take it.
This story ignited a need in me and I want everything relevant to The Dark Four. I want their pasts and their presents and everything in between. Future generation series? Yep. I’ll take those too. (Just a thought) 5 Stars!

This is book two in the “Four Dark Horsemen” series and I believe can be read as a stand alone. My suggestion would be to read in order because I LOVE these characters!!
Man oh man, I don’t even know where to start. Remi is probably my favorite. He is dark, broody, sexy, alpha and just bad ass. But under it all he is just that boy that wanted to be wanted. His story is heart breaking yet perfect. Remi and Penelope now that is a whole other story. I don’t think you could have wrote two better lovers. She is his light. He is her dark. Together they are obsessed.
This book has some secrets, lies, some spicy time, love and hate. It is a well balanced book that I would recommend to all.

Remi and Penelope’s story was addicting from page one. Penelope had no idea how much her life would change when she decided she needed a change and Remi had no idea how his obsession towards Penelope would evolve him into someone different

If you have read Santiago's conquest don't bother with this book, every single thing is same, only difference is the childhood story. That's it. Rest is just the same as in Santiago's conquest.

Everything is the same as it is in Santiago's Conquest, same plot, even the description of the characters are the same. Penelope's detailed description about The Dark Four is the same as Briseis had described them in her book, I mean surely that doesn't happen? Every person/ character has their own way of thinking. Over here Penelope & Briseis have been brought up in a very different environment, both were raised in different ways, however they can have the same thought process? The whole story is set in the same way, no change. Both female leads are forced to marry in their own books, both have similar feelings towards their male lead, both have the same feelings towards their male lead, both realize the reality at the same time, both female leads have been left in a family situation by their male leads, both female leads get to know their husbands past their, both female leads after that realize they love their husbands and accept their monstrous nature. Then the story is skipped after 1 month where the female lead has been kidnapped by the villain. One female lead was trapped in a coffin another one a pool, both male leads had 5 minutes to save their love. Once they are saved they are in hospital, the male lead confesses their love and the epilogue is skipped after 10 years. The author didn't seem to work on this book.

I am a HUGE fan of this author’s writing, she is hands down my favorite author right now, and Remi’s book wasn’t going to be the difference.
The book was dark(what I love) and I can relate too much with Remi’s hothead. He is crazy and his madness uffff🥵
The dirty talk, the secrets, Remi’s confusion at the beginning was everything 🤪😂 and I lived for that(since they always know everything)
Remi knew what he wanted and went to get it whether she wanted it or no🙈 and without giving you spoilers this are my favorite things about the book:

Remi and Penelope's story will hook you from the beginning and you won't put this book down until you are finished. Remi is one of the four Dark Horsemen and he is out for revenge. Revenge for all the wrongs that have been done to him and he needs Penelope to complete this plan. Penelope is a girl who has been loved her entire life and will always be loved but was told a huge lie that shatters her world. Now she knows that she has someone she needs to find and connect with someone she didn't even realize she was connected to. That's Amalia and Remi might be slightly obsessed with her. If you have read previous books then you know who Amalia is and who she is connected to. But is Remi really obsessed with her or the notion of her? Can Penelope recover from the shock of so many things in her life blowing up and changing and breaking her heart? Will he get his revenge? Well I of course can't tell you. You have to read to find out. This story is told in flashbacks which I loved. I love when you get the real backstory of things and you get that through Amalia and Penelope's eyes. I loved Penelope and Remi. They are just so great for each other. I loved his alpha protectiveness and how it worked with some of the innocence that Penelope carried with her. This is a story that has been years in the making and all the players not even realizing they were involved in it. I loved seeing characters for previous book that I have long fallen for a missed and I have to admit that I just wanted to ring Amalia's neck!! Good gosh this girl is horrible in ways that shocked me. I didn't get it at first but I do now but she still made me mad several times. I needs to shut up. It's hard to gush about a book and not give something away. I would never want to do that. You just need this book in your life and I hope that you love it as much as I do. Now I will sit patiently and wait for the next book in this series to come out and see what our next Dark Horseman is up to.

They are written with such care and empathy.
The supporting characters of Florian, Jemina, Santiago, Briseis, Octavius, Isla, are there with humor, love — unconditional, as one expects of family because they ARE family.. as Penelope expresses.
If you have not yet read SANTIAGO’S CONQUEST, do so. I for one, am looking forward to reading Octavius’ and Florian’s stories.

This was my first read with this author. There were somethings I liked and a lot I didn't.
Dual 1st person POV with diary entries of another side character.

Triggers galore, so make sure you prepare yourself. There's SA, violence, t*torture, past and present.
Penelope finds out that not only is her father not who he actually is but that she has a long lost twin out in the world. For 8 years she dreams of finally finding her. At 23 Penelope flies from France to Chicago where a PI says she has leads to find her sister. In the airport she runs into a man who instantly stirs something inside of her.. too embarrassed to look she says sorry and runs away. Remi instantly feels the "mine, mine, mine" syndrome when bumping into her, and no longer wants just to use her but keep her.. the only problem.. he thinks she's her sister amalia. Penelope meets up with the PI who says I know where she's at but you gotta do me a solid then ill give you the information.. this leads them to a club.. and who owns this club the dark four horsemen.. and one of them being Remi. Remi sees her in the vip section and says yup I'm gonna claim her. After their hookup he says Penelopes sisters name and not only does she panic but also she's devastated that the only guy she's ever felt a connection with has been pining for her sister.
Remi has been on a path of revenge for all the wrong doing since his birth. I won't dive deep into that because that's literally the whole story. But know it's not pretty.

The saying "everything feminine in me" (such a weird saying for being aroused and I didn't like it)

Absolutely fell in love with Remi and his story.
The young boy broke my heart and the man he became devastated my soul.
What a complex personality Remi is.
Fighting to right and wrong and to avenge an injustice done to him.
He’s living two lives in one body.
In a world of darkness where he is dreams of finding some light.
Penelope grew up loved and cherished.
The world was her oyster and everything was within reach.
However she always felt a part and piece of herself missing.
When she leaves all that she knows and loves in France and heads to Chicago her life is about to be forever and drastically changed.
When the monster catches sight of his queen nothing will stand in his way of possessing her.
Because she will be his light in his darkness and the calm to his soul.
“My life has been a storm.

I loved the dynamics between Penelope and Remi.
She brought sunshine and salvation to him.
And he gave her unconditional love and adoration.
She basked in his obsession and he came to life in her goodness.
Two very opposite people who fell in lust and passion fighting within themselves of what is right and wrong and whether their morals will stay in place when everything is said and done.
This story was very emotional for me.
My heart broke, my tears flowed and my soul was devastated.
But when the prince of darkness found his purpose and his peace, this reader was restored and put back together again.

grateful for every single thing that led me to this
moment.”

He’s wanted one woman for many years, but only to get back what was taken from him and get revenge. When he runs into a beautiful woman at the airport, he believes it to be the woman he’s been obsessed with, but she has no idea who he is. Remi is determined to get his revenge and the woman he’s been obsessed with for year, but is his plan going to work?
She had no idea she had family living in the states, let alone a sister. When she is finally able to fly to the states to meet her sister, a lot of unexpected issues come up and the meeting is delayed. When she finally does meet her, all of her ideas of a happy family reunion are thrown out the window and stomped on. Penelope has always thought that she was not wanted or cared about with the exception of her uncle that took her in when she was just a child. Now there’s a man that has claimed that she will be his wife, but she’s not the woman he wants. Can they find a Happily Ever After with each other and find love?
I love the Four Dark Horsemen and V.F. Mason’s writing style. She writes, dark, dangerous, broken characters that are possessive and love obsessively when it comes to their families, but they have flaws. They are dark, deadly, possessive, and dangerous, but they turn to mush when it comes to their kids and their women. I loved the bonus chapter for Remi! I loved this book and look forward to more. The characters are great and interesting to read, and the stories leave me drained with all of the pain and darkness, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to more books by V. F. Mason.
