D.J. Doyle was raised by pot-smoking hippies and spent her days worshipping pagan deities in the HellFire Club and her nights watching horror movies and reading horror books. She now lives with her family in a treehouse, preying on unsuspecting travellers, and where she likes nothing better than coming up with ideas for new stories and plotting her next novel. Some of this might have been made up. To learn more about D.J. Anyone who follows me knows Denise is one of my favourite authors and close friend. I fangirled her after I read Red until I forced her to be my friend.
Let’s just say Eeeewe, is a short, well written and twisted tale that lives up to its name. Yuk! Sheep and cows! It’s so ewwww but so good! What those farmers get up to in their loneliness and expectations.
If you want a twisted tale while you are having a coffee or break from one of the best female authors in the horror biz, then you can’t go wrong with DJ Doyle!
After reading the review of a bookfriend I was curious and knew what I get into. Horror is not my preferred genre, but it was partly funny, at least for me (as he imagined the sheep winked😅), and terrifying at the same time. The part with the woman I skimmed mainly because yeah I am not that brave. Overall it was a bizarr, entertaining short story (and I am glad it was that short because yes I am a coward😉)
What happens on the farm, stays on the farm, quite literally in this depraved tale. Join the folds of a family secret and the discreet acts of father passed down inadvertently to a son. This tale takes you to the farm with a sexual twist, and the detail disturbs and makes you cringe, but all of the detail keeps the pages turning. Check it out and get grossed out by D. J. Doyle.
Plz tell me this was a joke 🥴😭….. I really want to ask the author how she came up with this idea ? Did she witnessed it .. I mean how 🤢…
That ugly ass farmer was so crazy ..he fucked all the 🐑 sheeps on the farm 😳😭😭…Animal abuse … but he claimed that they all loved his fucking …And last but not the least ..he kidnapped a girl..drugged her nd raped her ..nd attached sheep’s wool on her body …I mean he stitched wool on her skin …and polished her body with boot polish .. in short an Humana sheep 🥴… I know it was going to be a dark book…so not going to bitch more…but I didn’t liked it 😊…

Doyle drops a gut punch of brutality in a man's quest for a child. Doyle crosses many lines in this bizarre short. Brilliantly executes it's anything baaaa normal.
This short story packs a serious WTF punch. It reminded me of the movie TUSK, except with a farmer and a sheep and far more graphic. I am not sure how I want to rate it with stars, I didn't hate it but I can't say I enjoyed it. Overall I'm not mad that I read it.

I wasn’t sure what to expect since this is only 11 pages, but I enjoyed every page. The writing was stellar and I honestly think this could have been made into a full length novel. I think the back story of the characters would be interesting and the ending could go in so many directions. This is definitely a taboo extreme story and I think it was executed perfectly. I’ll definitely be checking out more stories from this author!
As a lover of short stories, I have found D.J Doyle to be a breath of fresh air. Not gonna lie. I may have gagged a little reading this as extreme isn't really my thing, unless it has a decent story to go with it. And Eewwwe certainly does. I don't want to ruin this gross, well written, imaginative little story, so can only suggest you check it out, but beware, you may never be able to look a sheep in the eye again 😆
It’s like if Kevin Smith’s ‘Tusk’ and ‘The Human Centipede’ had a child and it was far more deranged and disgusting. This will NOT be for everyone, hell, I can’t say it was for me, but it was well written and I’m not angry that I read it. However, it’s a premise that I’m glad was only sustained for the length of a short story and not longer.
Extreme horror,I think so, eewwwee was just wild from start to finish it had the film Tusk come to mind. The thing that got me was that the farmer thought they would wink at him…. 😉. There’s definitely some triggers for folks in this one so be warned.
This book could be excellent. But so much of it didn’t make sense. There were so many run on sentences. Places that didn’t fit in the correct order. It’s was all over the place. And tough to read and understand
I’m glad it was short, because I can’t stand not finishing a book, but this was certainly a little past my comfort zone. Interesting concept, though. I will give the author that. Very much something to be found in the crime community.
