Grace Henry never thought she’d be a widow at thirty-five, left to raise a teenage daughter who resents her and a job that asks far too much of her. But as summer quickly approaches, the one place that always soothed her soul growing up is calling her home again. The moment she and her daughter arrive at Buttercup Lake, her frantic world stops shaking them apart and a glimmer of hope resurfaces that a new normal can exist.
When Jackson Locke left Buttercup Lake at eighteen, he vowed he’d never return. After all, the one and only woman he’d loved broke his heart and ran off with his best friend and fellow camp counselor, Tim Henry.
But when his uncle falls ill, he’s the only family member who can look after him. So, he does what any decent human would do and puts his disgust for the simple town of Buttercup Lake aside.
Jackson just never expects to discover the one woman who shattered his idea of love also happens to be wandering the streets of Buttercup Lake. It takes everything he has to look Grace in the eyes and see the woman she's become, not the girl he'd left behind.

9 percent done... I love the trout so I'm really wanting to love this book but on chapter 3. I see this relationship is almost happening too fast to be believable hope it is better. And how do you have your own wrapped around someone and still able to rub the length of their spine?

I’ve been in a reading slump the last few months and decided that I wanted to try something I’d normally never reach for. I ended up finding Dash of Love for free on the Amazon Kindle and decided to give it a chance.
Overall the story isn’t bad. The romance progressed much faster than I would have liked, but considering this is a second chance romance, that makes sense. I really thought the conflict would mainly come from the two love interests, however that was t the case and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the plot points in the story. The scheming done by family and friends in the story does ruin some of the enjoyment for me as it was definitely an overstep. The highlight of this story is definitely the small town of Buttercup Lake.
Overall this was a decent story and I’ll definitely be picking up something else by the author.
I really enjoyed reading Dash of Love(The Sunshine Breakfast Club Book 1)!!!! All about Grace Henry a thirty-five year old mom & Jackson Loche a thirty-six year old professional golfer. Grace & her fifteen year old daughter Izzy are staying in Buttercup Lake for the summer, from Chicago. They both have very heavy hearts, since Tim the husband/father died sixteen months ago. Read about Grace & Jackson and see if second time around is a charm!!! This was a page turner from start to finish!!! I loved all the quirky characters and literally fell in love with Grandma Millie & Izzy!!! I can’t wait to read book two!!! This is a Definite Read!!!
I haven’t giggled or laughed out loud while reading a book in a very long time. Dash of Love was such an amazing read. It has sweetness mixed with sass, comedy laced with attitude, and love with heartache and second chances. The story is relatable in so many ways, that it isn’t hard to get swept up into the magic of Buttercup Lake. I hope that the magic continues in Pinch of Love.
The story flows so well , the characters are very likeable and the Author introduces you to new places and it feels like your there with them always love reading this style of book and would definitely recommend reading this book and look forward to reading the next book
This book was just plain fun to read. What a great start to the new Sunshine Breakfast Club series. I really enjoyed the humor as the events unfolded. It was also sad in some parts but Karice Bolton is very good at writing books with characters that touch your heart. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
I really enjoyed this story. It was very interesting. Grace and Izzy had gone to Wisconsin to visit their grandmother. Logan,an old boyfriend of a Grace was visiting and trying to take care of an uncle who had pneumonia. Just a sweet story of finding love again with the members of the book club setting them up every way they could.
Great story full of life. The author told about life lessons. Betrayal, lies and broken promises. Grace was kept in the dark by her deceased husband. Aunt Aunt Millie is a force to be reckon with. Love it!!
This book was a wonderful story of love and forgiveness it only took me two days to read and I didn't want to put it down. I'm going to start reading the next right now..looking forward to the rest of the series!!!!!!
I had just finished reading a historical romance book with the same plot, same antagonistic female to the overly charming male, so obvious, such a trope and frankly couldn’t be bothered reading the same story set in a different time line…just too boring.
I fell in love with this story and all of the characters! I was so happy with the ending as well! My kind of Love Story! With just enough drama! Lol Please bring on the next book!
This was an excellent second chance romance with some suspense and angst. Lots of surprises and secrets. I loved Jackson and Grace. Izzy was a wonderful addition to the mix as well. This is my first book by Karice and I plan to read many more.
Loved this book! A sweet romance with Grace & Jackson. There is disappointment, finding lost love, a meddling group of townspeople, surprises (Tracy? What the heck??!) some steamy scenes and then some sweet teenage romance with Izzy & Caleb. An all around sweet story! Absolutely recommend!
This was a truly interesting contemporary romance. They had been a couple years ago but had been separated by mysterious circumstances. The town all seemed to behind getting them together again. It's a very good read.
I didn't have high hopes for this. I thought maybe it would be too cutesy. But, it was fantastic! Relatable characters, paced just quickly enough to keep you reading. A touch of mystery. HEA I truly enjoyed it.
Loved it so much! The small town, the family, the friends, I’m ready to go. I love Jackson so much! Hope all these characters show up again for the next book. Can’t wait!
New to me author. This was a slow cozy read. I'm not really into slow books. Although this is a series, so I will continue to the second book and see if it picks up.
The Sunshine Breakfast Club’s Dash of Love is the first book in the new Karice Bolton series. The death of her husband and her daughter Izzy’s behavior and attitude are the reason in Grace’s decision to return to Buttercup Lake for the summer. As a child, Grace and her sisters found that their summers with their grandmother Millie in Buttercup Lake were filled with healing and love. Grace is hoping that the same magic that she found as a child would once again take place in both of their lives. Facing her unsure future, Grace is faced with unanswered questions and fears. The Sunshine Breakfast Club does read and discuss books but it is so much more. This is a well written story of loss, disappointment and love. The characters are well developed. As a reader I felt their fears and sorrow.
