Rukhar’s bedtime story. Ah it made me get a little teary. 🥹 Harlow fell asleep during story time so he goes to Rukh to finish it (or start a new one, well the only one he tells). And it is the story of how he grew up and wasn’t happy until he met Harlow. Ah such good feels. Love them!

Give me more Rukh

I’ll take all the crumbs I can get 😭.

Basically. Harlow’s exhausted from working all day (and being pregnant) that she falls asleep when Rukhar normally gets his bedtime stories, so he naturally goes to his father Rukh 🥹.

Rukh tells him the story of when he was growing up alone with his father and wasn’t really happy until he met his mate (Harlow) 😭

I love how Rukhar knows the story so well

But mostly. I just love Rukh 😭🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

”And you know what the big hunter realizes?” Rukhar asks me. I know this answer. “He realize he happy,” I say softly. “He never happy before he see her.”

“Yes,” Rukhar says with a yawn, pleased with the story as always. “And now he is happy forever. And they have a son and another son on the way and they live in the ancestor’s cave.”

“Could be girl,” I suggest. “I like a sister for you.”

He nods and reaches for my hand, giving it a childish squeeze before he closes his eyes to go to sleep.

My heart hurts with how much happy is in it, and I realize I am smiling.

I don’t even care that this was short. I really don’t. Because somehow, in just a few pages, this gave me something softer and more intimate than most full-length books ever could.

This isn’t a story about falling in love.
It’s about what happens after.

And honestly? That’s what made it so special.

Watching Rukh as a father… yeah, that did something to me. There’s just something about a man who was once so closed off, so unsure of happiness, now sitting there patiently telling his son a bedtime story—his story—but softened, reshaped into something safe and warm for little ears.

It’s quiet.
It’s gentle.
But it hits.

Because underneath that simple “hunter’s tale” is everything he doesn’t say out loud:
his loneliness, his growth, his love for Harlow, and the life he never thought he’d have.

And Rukhar?
The way he already knows the story, the way he expects the happy ending without question… that contrast broke me a little. Because Rukh didn’t grow up with that certainty. But his son does.

That’s the whole point, isn’t it?
Breaking cycles. Building something better.

There’s no drama here. No tension. No chaos.
Just a man, his child, and a quiet moment that means everything.

I do wish it was longer I could’ve stayed in this softness a little more—but at the same time, it almost feels perfect as it is. Like a small, fleeting glimpse into a life that’s finally… peaceful.

And sometimes? That’s enough 🤍

A SciFi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon is good. Not sure what to say but Sci Fi, blue alien erotica. Apparently, it is a thing and apparently, I like it. I am not sure how I stumbled upon Ruby and her books, but I love it and am rereading thewhole series and het other series.

Humans being abducted by aliens and badly mistreated only to find themselves crashed on an alien planet with other aliens. It makes for an interesting read where there are mates, language barriers, horned horney blue aliens and a severe lack of women. It is fun and witty and at times heartbreaking, but it is certainly something different and I now find myself strangely addicted.

Eu gosto muito desse casal! Aqui já estamos na fase da segunda gestação, situada após a nave do Mardoc ter curado o tumor da Harlow durante a gravidez.
São apenas 10 páginas, resgatadas do Facebook da autora, que trazem Rukh contando a história de sua própria vida para o seu filhote de seis anos. É um conteúdo bem curto e afetivo, focado inteiramente na relação entre pai e filho.

Siento tanta empatía por Rukh a veces. Cuando se porta como un tonto no, pero odio que haya tenido que sufrir tanto y entiendo por qué es tan protector. Adoro la idea de que Rukhar aprecie de corazón todo lo que tiene y lo afortunado que es (menos por su madre a punto de morirse, claro) y me encantan las mezclas de personalidad que salen de ambos padres y se ven reflejadas en sus hijos. Es una cosa tan linda. Sin duda espero más de estas pequeñas historias porque son muy muy agradables de leer.

Listened on Youtube. Found the link on the FB group, Ruby Dixon-Blue Barbarian Babes. Sweet little novella about Rukh telling his son the only bedtime story he knows, everything he remembers about growing up with his dad before he died when he was 6 and then meeting Harlow.

This was not as cute as the first one but it's still a nice slice of life. Honestly I found it kind of weird that Rukh wouldn't have taught his son differently. Especially after how sorry he has been about his mistakes of the past.

This is Rukh tucking his son into bed by telling him the story of growing up alone and seeing Harlow and the start of their life together. It works well that’s it’s simplistic in nature for a child, but also following with Rukh’s grasp of language after so long alone.
