Andrea Lee gives a tale of twists and turns that shape a powerful series of the underworld. Vampires, werewolves, demons and a modern supernatural romance with endless heat.
My name is Eve. I am twenty five years old and living in Los Angeles, California. My life is pretty okay. I have a great job. More or less. I have amazing friends. Only three. My free time is spent reading and keeping to myself. It isn't until a hot summer night that my life spirals out of control when I am attacked by a creature sporting two inch long incisors. I am saved by a handsome, ocean blue eyed man who bears the same fangs as my attacker. My rescuer, Will Jameson, is a vampire and as it turns out, one of the only vampires out there who wants to help me and not rip my throat out. I quickly learn that the underworld is very real. The stories and legends are true...and I am being hunted by one of the most ruthless vampire covens in southern California.

3.2 --
There was a lot going on in this book that pulled me all over. The idea/plot was interesting. Defiantly the reason I didn't DNF the book. I kept reading hoping it would sort of settle for me but unfortunately it never did.
I did like the story line- It was familiar but original all at the same time. Colton was probably my favorite character. He was the one that felt the least flat and the most realistic. There were parts were MC's inner voice made me laugh out loud. Sometimes she was funny and relatable.
Other times I felt like I was reading her talking about the same thing over and over again. It became a bit Wattpad-y at times which isn't what im looking for when I pick up a book.
This book wasn't the one for me but it might be fore you! There was something about that gave it its own charm. Like I said there was some originality in it that I enjoyed.
Good story. Like the vampires. Needs some serious editing though. Not just typos. Like the author started to go one direction and next paragraph forgot what the wrote.
I love typical vampire romances but this book has me in a trance! PULSE breaks away from the norm and brings fresh air to the vampire romantic category. To see how Will gradually adapt from classical vampiric traditions and accustom themselves to modern life (even changing dialogue mannerisms!) is really unique! PULSE satisfies my need and expectations of classical vampire romance but also throws twists and turns keeping me on my toes with excitement and suspense. Eve, portrayed as a strong heroine, doesn’t give up or back down easy. Most notable is Eve’s willingness to fight for what she wants! The story does bring out Eve’s playful side through banter with all of her friends, even Will. It’s honestly so refreshing how the author included playful banter and sweet romantic elements in this book that you don’t see in a lot of dark romances. I love Will! OMG he is sooo smexy! If you love strong and possessive heroes he is the one! His jealousy is honestly the cutest and sexist thing! The way Will cares for Eve is so romantic. Will is a “dark hero” but he also has different sides to him that he’s not afraid to share with Eve. The way Will and Eve are with each other reminds me of how my husband and I are together. Eve and Will are perfect for each other. I can’t wait for book 2!
Such a great found family story! I love how it has a mixture of tradition vampire traditions, modern vampire traditions, and of course throwing in the werewolf/vampire rivalry tops it off. It gave me a Twilight meets demons kind of darker vibe and I loved it. This is a very plot driven book in my opinion and it had many twists and turns that kept me on my toes. Some I seen coming and the others I did not.
I really love a strong female MC that fights for what they want and that is Eve to the very core. Will is such an amazing character and I love how him and Eve dislike each other from the beginning but then blossom into the relationship the develop as they get to know each other. Between her desire to find her truths and his desire to protect at all costs they pair perfectly and I can't wait til book two gets released.
There was a great story line to this book and I really enjoyed this read.
Eve and will are just so cute, there is so much tension and animosity between them at times that we can all tell its gonna be good when they finally come together and admit their feelings.
There is a lot that happens in this book but it makes for a thrilling tale and I am certainly highly anticipating a great book two.
Cliffhanger is a big one so beware.

Overall, the plot and the storyline with the book were really well done. It kept me intrigued and I loved Will and Eve’s relationship, super cute. Note this book does end on a cliffhanger!
Towards the end it did feel like she was just checking boxes with Eve’s character.
SPOILERS FOLLOW:
Like she is an angel-devil-human hybrid, orphan, bestfriends with human, dating a vampire, and a werewolf likes her, all the while is being hunted by another group of werewolves.
Other than that the story was well thought out and super interesting to follow.

If I were to judge this book by its cover, I would have been so wrong. I actuallybreally enjoyed this book. The angst, the chemistry, the spice, the scare. I honestly really love Will. 🥵😂 The twist was good too, I really wasn't expecting it. I can't wait to see what book 2 brings us! If you loved Twilight growing up, you'll probably love this too!
Pulse is well written but felt unfinished. While the stoping is at a decent spot it feels unfinished me. I think this stems from being labeled a Dark paranormal romance, there is no hea or hfn. It definitely felt more like an urban fantasy with a strong romance occurring. If your looking for a book where the romance drives the story this might not be your book. If you want a bit of a mystery, sexy werewolves and vampires along with a strong plot outside of romance, but still has strong romance elements, this book is indeed for you.

Okay, so… overall-I enjoyed this book. I think it’s fun and I want to read the next in the series once it’s out. There were times where I got a bit too much of a Twilight vibe with certain plot details but then something would happened and the story would suck me back in. I received and arc for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! Will and Eve are just absolute Fricking hot cuties! The story did follow pretty well and I only noticed a few spelling errors, missing words plus one phrase mentioned frequently. I definitely would recommend for my dark PNR readers.
Ok so was absolutely not expecting a vampire romance to go in this direction but I am so glad I was surprised! Way to keep me on my toes! I’m super stoked for the next book in this series but sad it won’t be out until next year. Fantabulous! 100⭐️/5 will totally recommend to everyone 🤩
I received this book as a free ARC copy, so this review is voluntary. The book initially gave me the vibe of Hush, Hush crossed with Twilight. It's a very modern take on vampires while crossing it with old legends and folklore, which I really like. It sprinkles in the werewolf vampire hatred, witches and angels. I was pleasantly surprised by the drop of who Eve's parents are. I've never read an Armageddon book quite like this. The story builds well and has a good pace and I am hoping that the next book will have some questions answered.
This book was a very quick read for me- I devoured the entire book in two sittings. This is not one that you can skim through though- the author packs a lot of information and plot developments throughout the book. Pulse is a paranormal romance, I would say it’s about a 50/50 split between fantasy elements and romance! I would say this book is best for ages 18+ in terms of content. Overall it was a very entertaining read. The sequel, Pulse: City of Angels is out now and I’m excited to see what happens next!
Eve finds her self thrust into the underworld, where vampires are real and she gets saved by one, Will is a traditional vampire trying his ways in the modern world. the story is engaging and the characters draw you in with their charms this s book 1 in a series and i cant wait for more!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
You know those times when you find a book where you really relate to the main character? Their career, their feelings, their reactions to situations? For me, this was one of those books!
A fresh take on vampire romance, it was fun to see Eve discover and navigate a world she never knew existed, whilst taking us along for the ride.
So what do we have? 👩 Fiesty female lead 👨 Protective men 👩❤️👨 Slowburn 👨👩👧👦 Found family 🧛♂️ Vampires 🧗♀️Cliffhanger
Characters: Will was an amazing love interest. If you like sweet, if a little possessive vampire men, this is the book for you! I love how infuriating he found Eve initially and his quips and comebacks were hilarious!
Eve was undoubtedly the star of the show though, I loved her attitude, her love of her friends and her loyalty.
Final thoughts: That ending 😱 One of the best things about this book was that it kept surprising me! There were so many twists and turns I didn't see coming (and one or two I most certainly did!)
After not reading a vampire romance in a long time because the genre had become a bit stale, I was pleasantly surprised by how much enjoyed every moment of reading this!

"Jesus, you are annoying. Yes. You smell like lavender and sunlight. It's fucking intoxicating and, quite frankly, difficult to resist." "I also feel like the minute I see any man look at you the way I am now, it will make me want to rip out their jugular."
Eve is twenty-five years old and living in Los Angeles. Her life is okay: she has a great job, more or less. Eve even has three amazing friends. She spends her free time reading and keeping to herself. Until one night when her life spirals out of control... Eve is attacked by a creature with two inch long incisors. She is saved by a handsome, ocean blue eyed man; who also has fangs. Her rescuer is named Will, a vampire and one who seems eager to help her. Eve quickly learns the underworld is very real and she is being hunted by one of the most ruthless vampire covens. This book was great. I mean it had vampires, werewolves, demons and angels. The "good" vampires working for Lux who were responsible for keeping those who had pledged allegiance to Lucifer, the Fallen, in line. Vampires use werewolves to maintain security during the daylight hours. It was all great and elaborate and the author did an amazing job of building the world by integrating it into the development of the story. It wasn't a huge chunk of world building and then story, which I was incredibly thankful for. Oh and of course you can't forget the romance, with a slight love triangle vibe. Eve it turns out may be more than she appears given the Fallen are stalking her, which is not normal behavior for them. Will offers her his support and moves her into the Lux compound in an attempt to keep her safe. I loved the dynamic between Will and Eve, it was the perfect amount of hate turned love haha. The book had a slight amount of steam, I would have liked more from a vampire romance, but honestly I didn't mind because the story was so great and involved. The story was different and had a few twists that I suspected but didn't really know were coming for sure. I will say for Eve's friends to have been so important to her, they played a minimal role in the story and she was quick to forget about them. I realize that it was necessary but I would have liked more since they were her family. I also would have liked a bit more spice in the romance, but again this is easily forgiven because the story was really good. It does end on a semi cliffhanger which drives me crazy!! Overall, it was a quick and engaging read and I look forward to the next book.
I would first like to thank the author for providing me with a copy of this book for background in exchange for an honest review for book 2 that is coming soon. I tried my best to be critical , respectful and honest as possible in my review.
The premise and idea of the book is amazing; however, I have some slight issues with the editing and overall writing.
Let's start with the good, the urban setting and use of vampires and wolves in any story always gets me excited. I think that the world building is fun and easy to follow. Poor Eve is just being thrown into this whole mix. I also think it's really fascinating that the author chose to stick to some of the original vampire myths and legends. That fact keeps things traditional yet original amongst its other vampire story peers.
I liked the anxiety and depression representation, we got from our main characters. I personally have really bad anxiety and to see Eve experience it was quite validating. I actually found Eve quite funny as well in her commentary and reactions to things.
Moving on to some things that I was not quite a fan of.
There are numerous repeats of the same words, phrases, and overall information. The amount of times I read "rolled my/their eyes, cold, smirked, pale and other words had me internally groaning. I get why they were necessary, but their constant appearance was a little off. Also, Eve's internal monologue had quite a bit of repetition. Things like, her being overwhelmed with info, her wanting to protect her friends, her desire to be normal, etc. I can see where the author was going, but it could be a little tedious for the reader because its already info that we are quite familiar with at these points.
As for the romance, it felt kinda like insta-love, which I will admit that I am not a huge fan of at all. However, some of the moments between Will and Eve were quite sweet. But at the end of the day, it wasn't enough to get me invested because there was an absence of build up. I have some suspicions that the author is trying to set them up at soulmates of some kind, but we will have to wait and see.
The way that the book ended on a cliffhanger was actually quite interesting and it did make me want to continue the story. As I previously said, the author has good moments in the book and I hope to see more of that in the next book and none of the issues that I listed above.
English: The truth is that when I read the synopsis of this book I found it very promising.
I started to read it and the truth is that I found it entertaining, at first it was more of a vampire story, entertaining and cliché, perfect for killing time.
As it advanced it included werewolves and fallen angels. The latter in a vampire story was somewhat interesting, as I don't recall reading a book of vampires and fallen angels in one place.
The first half of the book I was very hooked on reading, there's also Will, the lead vampire I got immediately interested in and I couldn't stop fangirling over.
The book is the first of what I think is going to be a saga and it really has potential, but I guess my vampires, werewolves and fallen angels phase ended long ago, at least to read books purely of that.
The author has a dynamic way of writing and the book chapters are short..
Eve goes out with her friends for Sage’s birthday with Sage and her other college buddy Colton. They also brought Colton’s boyfriend Tommy. We find out about all of their pasts and how they became friends. Colton is also Eve’s coworker at the Sunset Times. Eve’s boss is absolutely evil to her. In fact, she does most of the work for her boss, Tabitha. She is just supposed to help and edit, but does her evil boss’ job most of the time, and no one really likes her. Eve and Sage live together and say hi to their neighbor Mrs. Sanderson, when they get home from the club. A lot of stuff happens at the club and after that is a bit shocking for an every day person. Pretty much the Supernatural fell into her lap and changes Eve’s life and she can’t share it because it would put her friends in deep danger.
There are two types of vampires- the good ones who are trying to redeem themselves and try to protect humanity from the other type of vampires that drain people dry and are killers. It’s these killers that are after Eve- her blood smells different from them and they want a taste. I really like the guard at the building that houses the Sunset Times, Marty. He is a sweetie. While working late at night and no one but her boss is around, she meets Will Jameson, Brit sounding hottie nice vamp. Eve and he are drawn to each other. But there are now deaths surrounding Eve. It gets waaaay scary now. I really like cop Riley. He is a total hottie. I’m totally Team Riley. Don’t get me wrong, I like Will and the other nice vamps that he lives with (mostly). But, I feel that he is hiding something and if he is in love with Eve, then he should spill the beans.
I really enjoyed the book and the fact that vampires aren’t the only supernatural creatures in it, made me love it even more! I jumped on the second book already, and have started reading it. I want more books. I do feel bad for her friends though. They are in danger just from being around her, so maybe they should be in the know….

Pulse : A dark Paranormal romance by Andrea Lee is a book about 25 year old Eve who was leading a normal life as a editor in literary firm untill some Vampire clan called Fallen started following her , disrupting her life with the death of people related to her for some unknown reasons. Will Jameson , the memeber of the Lux gang try to save Eve and keeping a close watch on why the other clan of vampires been following her. Amidst all this Eve finds herself getting entangled & falling head over heels with Will ,along with Vampires of the Lux clan and other paranormal life forms.
It's been a very long time I read this premise,(last was Twilight series ) . Though I felt this book's idea somewhat similar to it incorporating vampires , werewolves , witches , but it has altogether a different approach to the story line which will keep you hooked till the end. Towards the ending , I felt the book has been rushed to reach certain conclusion, although it has been left on a cliffhanger (which is the best part of the book). In all its a pretty good read , something different. Would love have a good banter between Will and Riley O Harre , hopefully in the next book.

Possible spoiler(ish) info ahead … . . . . Aargh!! I feel like a dirty deed has been done to me because this ends on a cliffhanger and I did not realize it. So here I am, gasping at the bottom of one page and saying “ oh no!” as I turn the page to find… the END.
I NEED to read the next one. I need to know what happens to Eve. And Will. And Saige. And I need to know what “Luci” (let’s just call him that for now) will do/ try to do to get his daughter back!
This book had a lot, and made me feel a lot. I had to pause here and there in the beginning because the creepy vibes were so strong that I was weirded out as I read in bed in the dark. Creeped out, incredulous, curious, irritated, bashful, amused, sorrowful, voyeuristic, worried, dismayed — I was all of these things as I watched Eve and Will begin their acquaintance, became something more, and then reeled as Eve discovered the truth about her lineage.
I always love a good vampire tale. And I especially enjoy the interplay between demons, angels, and humans, not to mention a vamp vs werewolf rivalry. This was a relatively quick read as I got completely sucked into the story. So I say to the author: 1) THANK YOU, 2) HOW DARE YOU LEAVE US HANGING, and 3) I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THE NEXT BOOK!

"Pulse Book 1" by Andrea Lee is a decent entry into the world of supernatural romance, offering a mix of vampires, werewolves, and demons set against the backdrop of modern Los Angeles. The story follows Eve, a young woman whose ordinary life is turned upside down when she is attacked by a fanged creature and subsequently saved by the mysterious vampire, Will Jameson.
The book has its strengths, particularly in its fast-paced plot and the unexpected twists that keep readers guessing. Eve and Will's chemistry adds an engaging romantic element, and the detailed world-building draws you into the supernatural underworld.
However, the book isn't without its flaws. The character development sometimes feels a bit rushed, and some plot points could use more depth and explanation. Additionally, while the steamy scenes and violence add intensity, they may be a bit overdone for some readers, overshadowing the storyline at times.
Overall, "Pulse Book 1" is an entertaining read for fans of the genre, though it might not stand out as exceptional. It's a solid start to the series, but there's room for growth and improvement in future installments. If you enjoy supernatural romance with a mix of action and heat, this book is worth a try.
Wow, this was a bit different than normal vampire books, and I absolutely loved it. Eve was brought up in the foster system, and she never knew that all the myths were real until one night when she was attacked, leaving her office. Another man came to help her, but she immediately realized that they were not human, but vampires. The world of the vampires is a bit different since it stems from Lucifer, and there are two types of vampires – the ones that feed directly from humans and those sworn to protect others against those vicious vampires. Will is part of the Lux – the ones who protect others from the Fallen. Their relationship starts off a little slow since she's convinced he’s a stalker, but then it quickly blossoms. Except there is a bunch of stuff that happens, especially when she realizes just why the Fallen are after her. She is the daughter of the original… and he will do anything, even threaten her friends, to get to her!
Loved this book so much! This story is so fascinating!

BOOK: Pulse AUTHOR: Andrea Lee PLOT: Eve is a 25 year old woman that works for a newspaper. Her boss is a bitch, but the pay is good. One night when out celebrating her best friend's birthday, she is watched from across the club by two mysterious men. Eve is attacked in the parking lot at her job, at the Hands of one of the men from the club, and the other blue eyed stranger protects her during the attack. A strange murder takes place at her apartment complex and it's revealed thst both men from the club are vampires. Eve is being watched by an evil coven of vampires and Will Jameson is trying to keep her safe. As more murders happen around Eve and as she continues to be watched, can Will keep Eve safe, or will Eve fall into the hands of the coven? This book had me on the edge of my seat and I'm beyond excited for the second installment in this series!!!!! RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pulse was a stunning combination of paranormal romance and action filled mystery. I must confess that after reading this book, I am filled with a passionate love for Dr. Lynch. His DR. DILF energy spoke to me in ways I will be consulting my therapist about. Concerning the two main characters, Eve and Will, I feel their part in the story was heavily focused on their budding romance. I wish the author provided more details on these already mysterious characters, but that is a matter of preference and is telling to how engrossing Pulse is that my need for more of these characters is my only complaint. Also, shout out to Katrina. I want to be her when I grow up. Truly, the spots that shine in this book are the side characters. Each and every one, even the bad guys, just have this natural zazzle that made me zoom through each page. Overall, this book was an absolute treat. I am grateful to have received an advanced copy for free, and I am happy to be leaving a voluntary review on Pulse.
I am still impressed with this book. Andrea Lee, has written a beautiful book. This book is about Eve, not quite human, with her friends, who discovers that she is being watched by two parties. And after meeting her 'stalker' Will, she discovers that vampires, werewolves and demons exist. The Fallen are after her for a dark reason. After she is almost killed, everything goes into overdrive. Her body is changing and she is learning more and more about her deceased parents. There is also a traitor among the vampires who must protect her. I really couldn't put this book down, I had to finish it. and the story is full of tension and never boring. Eve must learn quickly if she wants to face the greatest danger that awaits her. And I'm really not going to tell you anymore. This book is beautiful and highly recommended.
Eve is our badass FMC. She's on a mission to get the bad guys off her back and discover why she's so appealing to the supernatural world. These answers don't come without a price. Along for the journey is her sort-of vampire boyfriend, Will, who saved her and has been a guardian figure. Eve came across as a well-developed character. She's always looking out for her friends and doing her best to survive. I enjoyed the good versus evil vampire concept and the additional supes. You can never have too many creatures for my taste. I honestly wasn't sure if she would choose a side when it came to vampire vs werewolf, but I'm eager to see how things develop in the second book!
I was really surprised by ‘Pulse’. It wasn’t what I expected it to be when judging on cover alone. But ‘Pulse’ is actually a really fun, fast paced thriller with vampires, werewolves, angels….all thrown in. I love the main character, Eve - she is strong, sassy and independent. I definitely would have had a harder time choosing between Will and Riley though lol I really struggled to put this book down and I was genuinely surprised by the ending. It has made me really eager for book two.

I received a free ebook of this novel. This review is my honest opinion and is written voluntarily.
What a wild adventure this book is. I really loved the supernatural storyline. As you begin reading, you might think it is just another vampire/werewolf novel but it is a lot more than that. There are so many new and interesting elements brought in to it.
There is a lot of mystery in the story that keeps you hooked. Eve’s back story is also very fascinating and you are never sure what she is going to uncover next. The intrigue of the vampire is not overlooked and you can’t resist Will’s allure.
I would recommend this book and am looking forward to the second part coming next year.
