I’m a nurse. I work at a hospital and care for people who need me. My life is simple. Square. The last thing I expected was to get entangled with a mobster on a rainy night in an alley. His name is Viper Roz, head of the ruthless Nordic Mafia. I should turn around and run away but I can’t. This large giant needs me. And what he needs, he gets.
Another ridiculous, crazy OTT story of a jealous, obsessive hero and his (probably just as crazy for liking it) sweet heroine! Honestly, 5 stars is probably too high for this one, but I am absolutely desperate for stories that have crazed, obsessive villains as the "heroes," and this author does not shy away from the ridiculous toxicity of these cavemen 🥰. Rating upgrades are given for satisfying this niche.
This is the story of Tamsin and Viper. Tamsin is a nurse that, on her walk to work, sees Viper and is struck by lust at first sight. With the description of Viper, it was hard for me to imagine him as appealing and not cringey. He's described as wearing a long black leather coat and having a long blonde braid for hair. For the life of me, I kept imagining some tall lanky kid who was trying to be edgy and bought a black trench coat from Hot Topic. Apparently, Viper is supposed to look more like a burly, huge Norse Viking God. Which does makes the long blonde hair a bit more palatable. I'm still not completely sold on the long black trench coat though. Anyways, she follows stalks him into an alleyway where she witnesses Viper doing shady dealings with someone who betrays him and pulls a gun on him. Tamsin yells and distracts the gunman, allowing Viper to kill him. Apparently, Viper is also struck by the cupid of stalkery, because he too becomes obsessed with Tamsin at first sight. "As soon as we locked eyes in that alley I knew she would be the girl I would give up my life for, the one who will birth my heirs and be the color in my black and white world." A shootout occurs between him and the friend of the guy he shot, and Viper shields Tamsin with his body. They share a dramatic romance moment where they whisper sweet nothings and stroke each other's faces while Viper bleeds out.
The rest of the novel is spent with Viper throwing violent maniac tantrums any time Tamsin even so much as leaves the room out of his sight for a few seconds. He throws and destroys hospital equipment, punches doctors and nurses, and demands that they give him Tamsin. Just like in real life, they oblige. Tamsin gently chides Viper, but she's thrilled for the most part that he's as insane over her as she is over him. Tamsin then finds out from the hospital security guard that Viper is the head of the Nordic mafia. I'm not sure how a hospital security guard knows all this, since it's never explained. Tamsin, being the sane and logical heroine, comes to the immediate conclusion that if he's the head of the Nordic mafia, then she's gonna have to step up to be his good queen. Color me impressed, girl does not even hesitate 💅.
Viper immediately starts steamrolling Tamsin's life and tells her what her life will be like from now on. "In my manor, she will be in her place. Her existence will orbit around me, mine will orbit around her." Tamsin protests half heartedly about walking out on her job as a nurse, but ultimately doesn't really care enough to actually try to resist. She does insist on clocking out for the day, so good on her for having good work ethic on her last day 👏. The last part of the novel focuses on Tamsin's new life in Viper's golden cage. She adapts in record time, and some blood is shed when Viper shows his unhinged possessiveness over her. However, he's enough of a gentleman to hide the body from her, so all is good.
Overall, I think this is a worthwhile short read for those who love crazed obsessive stalker villains as heroes, especially if you have Kindle Unlimited. I do think the author got messy with the grammar and spelling- I noticed a lot more glaring errors compared to her other books. It definitely would've benefited from having more editing. I also felt that there was less of a plot for this story - I think having the story be a bit longer with a bit more conflict could have improved it a lot.
Safety: * Heroine is a virgin, never liked or was attracted to anyone else, never had a relationship. * Hero was implied to not be a virgin, but never liked anyone before heroine. * No cheating. * No OW drama * No real OM drama - a guard that was assigned to the heroine was lurking in the bushes jerking off while watching heroine swim in underwear, but hero immediately disposed of him. The hero gets insanely jealous over any mention of men from heroine, regardless of there being nothing to it. * No protection or birth control * HEA with epilogue and kids.
I love finding new OTT ridiculous, yet pretty awesome authors. This one definitely hit the spot, and I will be reading more to see if this author sticks for me.
What you get: ✅ Instalove ✅ Extremely crazy possessive antihero ✅ Virgin Heroine ✅ Mafia ✅ Smutastic
Love Llilacs style....hate the sort insta love VOTE:3.5
Pro: The possessive male who falls for an equally insane sweet nurse. Super cute love story and super hot. Viper has me squeeling in bed with his hot phrases and short temper on the female lead. Love the villan getting a haooy ending. Sex scenes get 4/5 spicy chili's.
Con: an unbelievable love story. (Even for a mafia love trope) Insta-love (just ruined the story) Huge time skips. No character development. No big climax (other than the sex scenes). Everyone remains 2D the whole story. Sooo FREAKING SHORT. 😭 at this point, just make a short story collection that 11 whole books.
Lilac: Why do you create such short prose when you can just create a large story? Your characters are really good. The spicy dialog is super-duper hot....but you fall short because you create such small worlds for your characters. Please consider writing an actual book. Also, you have a few typos and words that don't add up in the story. WAAAYYY ETTER THAN 50 SHADES NGL. I need a big, longer story 😫
I am STILL GOING TO reading the other 10 books in the series. I do recommend her stuff, though, if you like really short, 2D narratives and plot. I'm so disappointed, ngl. 😭 but the characters are so hot. 🔥 I'm conflicted. Overall vote 3.5
I love pretty much everything Ever Lilac writes and this is no exception. It’s begins with the head of the Nordic Mafia walking down the street and he catches the eye of sweet innocent Tamsin. She quietly follows him down the street after becoming enamored by him. She hops out of hiding when she sees he is in danger and he is immediately taken with her. After that, he refuses to let her leave his side. Over-the-top possessive Alpha perfectly describes Viper. There is no other hurdles for this couple so it’s a drama free read (except when she isn’t right next to him and he freaks out). It’s was short and steamy and pretty much perfect. I did knock off one star only because of the major lack of character development. I know it’s a quick read, but sometimes it’s hard to connect with the characters. Some quick insta-love authors have the knack for pulling on your emotions no matter how short the story. This was a bit of a miss on that front but I still loved the storyline a lot. Although I wish there was a tiny bit more to the characters personal story to endear me to them.
2 stars pretty much only for the Nordic Mafia (pretty sick idea) and the rune tattoos. Both of those ideas are very creative and just really appealed to me.
I wanted to like Tamsin and Viper’s story so much but that last chapter rubbed me SO WRONG. I assumed after that instance where she was seemingly actively to to get away from him and he held her down to service himself, that would have put a major wrench in their romance. But nope, cut to epilogue next chapter.
I don’t know if I just read the scene differently or added in my own emotional context but Viper seemed too intense and violent.
I even liked when he was calling out to her in the hospital. I think Insta-love like that can make for a fun read but he never changed throughout the story. There was no character development. He just saw Tamsin as this angel and she *HAD* to be his redemption and/or his purpose in life going forward.
That’s a fat yikes from me.
Compromise and collective growth makes love endearing to me and Viper had predatory energy that didn’t seem redeemable.

- Nordic mafia romance! Tasmin and Viper saved each other’s lives and they become obsessed! instalove, praise k!nk, age gap! - she’s got balls i’ll give her that - if he could just calm down a little bit - oh he’s acc quite romantic - they’re obsessed with each other and i love it - when he unalives one of his men💀 i respect it - i love that from the beginning she’s like ‘cool he’s a criminal?? he’s still my soul mate’ - not a lot of plot… but also not a lot of spice? - although the one s3x scene was fucking hottttt - wanted more from the epilogue but still good!
“You’ll like it because all I care about is treating this little pussy right...”
No one has ever had a bigger size kink than these two over here. Vipers like oh she’s so small… Tasmin is like he’s so big…
Like come on, if you’re kinky just say it aloud.
I’m really not sure what I liked about this book… I just feel very attached to the number three today.
The beginning was cute, except when he was acting like an actual child throwing a tantrum cause she wasn’t there. Like that’s embarrassing… especially where she works. No sir.
Ive never read a book by this author until today. And wow i loved it. Tamsin decides to follow this man on utter instinct she doesnt expect to save him and for him to save her and capture her heart.
We can say that Tasmin is a stalker of sorts. She follows Viper into an alley. When Viper is shot protecting her, he falls fast and hard. He is very possessive, he doesn't want anyone even looking at her.
Virgin h No condoms Mobster's capo H, local nurse h No drama/angst No cheating, No OW/OM OTT instalove dirty talk HEA, epilogue Overall score: 3 instalove stars
Liked this very much, I'm gonna binge the rest of this authors books now because I liked her story style... And yes I meant story style, although I'm not sure that's a term used, by it im saying the styles she combines in one story line is unique in that it's hard to achieve correctly; ie its not a "dark romance" because she wrote in such a way the "tone" of the story was kept sweet, despite the set. Ie the H comes from a word f violence and non legal consequences, the h is nurse, but the way its written us readers are allowed to indulge in fiction and suspend disbelief because sometimes that the purpose, to get lost in situations that only work in our imaginations, ( cause lets be honest , yes sometimes it's nice to read or watch entertainment that has believable characters we feel we can some how relate to them... But there are also equally times we need to let go of what's "believable" because what's the purpose of being able to imagining words where rules don't apply if we don't have fun in reading them...) Back to this book specifically, would a nurse and underworld leader seamlessly fall together romantically in "the real world" ? (and red headed mermaids that can wish for legs singing our favorite songs exist too right?) NO. But it cool to read a story where the do!🤗
As per usual, more emphasis on his groin and it’s inhabitants than an accurate portrayal of a nurse.
Honestly, if you’re going to have the protagonists job at the forefront of anything, take the time to actually research and get it right.
Yes, I realise this is a novella, but ten or twenty extra pages around the novel could have made a whole lot of difference.
For example, she just walks off her ward whenever she wants. In the real world, you are in charge of your patients. You have to answer their call bells, as no one else will. You need to be around in case of an emergency. Your work is on that ward and walking off of it willynilly is not okay.
I know the naivety of the main character is meant to be the appeal to the MMC, but air head really had a whole new meaning in this. Do these people exist or is this a trope that is made up to make women seem dumb?
would've been 4 stars, and maybe I'll upgrade it in the future. it just seriously needs an editor. there are not many grammatical mistakes, but there are quite a lot of errors in logic. like, that she wears a nurse's uniform when she tends to the H's men's injuries, and im like,,,,, does she change her clothes every time someone needs a tetanus shot or something?? how does that make sense? also, when he got shot she did nothing 😂 she's literally a nurse, she would know to put pressure on the wounds or whatever lol. she just cried over his body, and told him not to die 🙈 the ambulance arrived before she even tried to help. also a bunch more logical errors, but im not gonna list them all. the action sequence when the h and H meets for the first time was a bit awkwardly written, too. but that's a minor thing.

This is the 2nd book I've read in the series (I started out of order... oops). Thing is - the books are good, until you get to the sex part. LOL I've honestly never experienced this. So, you've got the dominant alpha mafia man and the small little virgin nurse. The development of how they meet and the insta-love /obsession is good. I'm all on board with it. But - You've got a short 79-page book and you spend the first 61-pages getting to know them before you get to the sex - that sex better be good. These are the first books I've read by this author and I'm thinking maybe she's never had sex? IDK. The sex in the book is just really bad and not descriptive. But I do like the stories and I'll keep reading them.
This book was well written and had an easy storyline to follow. In this book you’ll get a sweet nurse that falls head over heals for a mob boss that’s obsessed with her from the first look he got. I enjoyed reading this storyline but I will say it didn’t have a high leave on spice that I was expecting it was more tamped even those Viper wanted nothing more then to devour Tamsin. Now don’t get me wrong he still did it just wasn’t has in depth as I would have liked. My over all rating for have to be ⭐️3/5 and 🌶2/5
If you are looking for a short read without having to think, and you don't mind the h being a bit simple in her thought processes, read this one. The story is of course ridiculous. She sees H on the street, he catches her eye and she follows him. Then he gets attacked and is taken to the ER where she works as a nurse. It's instalove for him and you can fill in the rest.
Tasmin is a nurse and she starts following this attractive guy into a alley where he ends up getting shot. Viper is a mafia boss, alpha male, possessive, insta love, age gap. When he sees Tamin, he calls her his angel wants her to go along on the ride to the hospital with him. Viper attracted and wants Tasmin all to his self. It was an okay read.
Woah the first ever book I completed in this month of November. First, the Nordic Mafia was such a cute ass name I really loved it. Characters were on flick a quick pace read finished the book in 2 hrs because I was being interrupted.
Storyline. It was on points overall I enjoyed my read with this book.
Viper was a little too controlling but he meant well. The passion between these two is off the charts! I enjoyed this book. Would’ve loved a little more background on the characters though.
It was so boaring.no action or drama.just plain boaring. Bad guy came across a good girl, took her home , happily ever after.... Nothing existing, twisting or plotting.
wanted something short to read to convince myself i could actually finish a book 😮💨 loved the storyline but the hero was too much for a girl like me. i’d definitely consider reading more from this author tho!!
An interesting story, great writing and metaphors. However, the books needs to be proofread and edited because there are some mistakes. That’s why I gave the book three stars. It really needs some polishing.
Either Tamsin knew Viper was hers or she had a death wish. Their first meeting was something for the story books, and him claiming her was hot as hell. He is an alpha thru and thru. I knew the man that was watching her in the kitchen was up to no good.
I really liked it. If you're looking for an Insta-Love with some gang vibes this is the read for you. Even short there is a good amount of spice and it's all focused on both MC's. Would recommend!!!!
WOW! It's my first time reading Ever Lilac but,it certainly won't be my last! I love Viper and Tamsin, they're soo good and soo H.O.T together! A steamy and wonderful love story! I absolutly loved it soo soo much! 😍❤️❤️🔥🔥🥰
A really quick read, took only half an hour or so. Did I enjoy? Yes. Will I reread it again? No. I liked the characters and the theme. There is no actual plot or cliff hangers. The only issue was the insta love. Though I love insta love plots, this just didn't do it for me.
