In one of the century's most secretive and ethically explosive projects, lab-manufactured dinosaurs are destined for a life of captivity on a remote uninhabited island. A confidentiality breach is about to change everything. Acclaimed geneticist Alan Stanley is close to a breakthrough on the DNA experiment of his lifetime. He is only weeks away from finalizing a program for the recreation of long-extinct dinosaurs, but he doesn’t have much time left. However, and as long as he still has the strength to get out of bed in the morning, he’s determined to finish what he started. Jason Chambers has been working alongside Alan for the past two years. He knows enough about the program to assist but not enough to lead. He’s also battling his own internal demons. He's not always as careful as he should be. Dolly McKenzie likes loud music, pink miniskirts, chicken nuggets, and roller skating. She loves technology and she’s a whizz at cracking codes. The Exigency are an underground group of highly intelligent but bored miscreants who like to cause trouble just because they can. One of them is Dolly’s boyfriend. It’s a recipe for disaster, and it has the potential to destroy the world as we know it.

Not your usual dinosaur run amok book. It's actually quite thoughtful. The main characters are Alan, who created dinosaurs in the lab and Dolly and her friends, computer hackers, who are always looking to right the wrongs they encounter. The book is not heavy on preaching or action. It is more letting us know why the main characters do what they do. Very interesting read. It's a stand alone, but there are two more books after this one, probably with a lot more action.

COULD'VE...

Could have been a great book but..., the story don't start running until the 53% and still.

If the author stop babbling and try to have the story a backbone, could use 5% of the 53% and edit the rest, it could have been a great book.

Character development is almost nill, story weak and ending in a cliffhanger, UGH. DON'T RECOMMEND

Boring

The insanely long introduction became so boring I gave up at about a quarter way in. Character and plot introduction is one

thing but this was too long.

Very difficult to get into! Too much character building and far too many characters to follow. I am still going to try and read the rest of the trilogy.

The dinosaurs illness was probably the most exciting situation out of book 1.
