Avalanche: A Blind Date Gone Wrong Romance

Rate this book
She's a city girl and I'm married to the mountains ... there's no way this will ever work. Hiking, cold weather, and cabins in the woods are not my thing. But when my two best friends beg me to join them for a trip to the mountains, I cave.
“It’ll be fun,” they said.
“You need to get out more,” they said.
Everything was fine until I realized it’s all a setup. A weekend long blind date orchestrated with the help of their boyfriends. To say I’m annoyed is an understatement. But then he shows up, looking like a lot more than a tall glass of milk. And soon, I begin to feel that maybe this isn’t a bad idea after all.
There’s only one problem. He doesn’t seem to know he’s here to meet me. Which would be cool if I could just move on and forget I nearly made a fool of myself. Mother nature has other plans and sends a bad storm our way, locking us all in a potentially uncomfortable situation.
AVALANCHE is a BWWM blind date gone wrong novella. Previously released in the Emerging Temptation boxed set and now with a BONUS chapter and epilogue.

Avalanche is such a beautifully written story.
It's everything you didn't know you wanted and more.
It's sweet, steamy, has fun banter, with amazing characters.
Ariya's personality was so fun to read. She's a strong independent woman who is caring, playful, and funny.
I really enjoyed the unexpected events and how this book ended.
I cant wait to read more from Sade.
I highly recommend this book!

[1 star] book was lame as sh*t, there isn't anything in the book. no connection, no character development or background etc. the book is just very superficial with no substance or content. waste of my time to even finish it.

A Blind Date Gone Wrong Romance a well written story that kept me turning pages. Ariya and Xander are not the couple her friends wanted to have. This story has a man that has a lot from his past that he has to let go of and she also has to let go of her past. I know I will read this short story again. I fell deeply in love with the story of Xander and Ariya! The unsure feeling of treading into the unknown. I love Ariya's spunky humorous attitude. Her persistence was a nice touch, especially when she could feel that something was keeping Xander so closed off. This was definitely a good short story, left me wanting to read so much more about what comes next.

Oops!

Sometimes, things just work out the way they were meant to. Misunderstandings occurred, a lonely, broken man is revived, and friends learn anything or two about medling.

This is a standalone blind date gone wrong.

Ariya's friends drag her up to a cabin for a couple of days, but forget to mention that they also brought their boyfriends and that the boyfriends are bringing a friend to set her up. She is not happy with them and I don't blame her at all, although she does seem to forgive them far too easily. Who wants to be stuck on a blind date you didn't want for several days?

When Xander turns up she gets some mixed signals from him, which is explained later, but I found it strange that nobody else mentioned to Ariya who her blind date was.

I struggled to like the characters in this book. I didn't like the friends because of the way they lied to Ariya. Xander and Ariya were giving out some mixed signals, which made it hard to see any connection between them, but then all of a sudden they have this huge connection which makes Ariya make quite a dangerous decision.

I did enjoy the ending, but the journey there, not so much.

Surprise blind date turns into something more. It took me a minute to get into this story but it was a good read. A horrible set-up by the friends of Ariya and Xander doesn’t go as planned. Ariya is funny, sarcastic and patient with heroic Xander who is hot/cold and still healing from a previous trauma. This is a sexy, emotional romance with drama and hope. I liked how both characters stepped out of your comfort zone and took another shot at love.

Not Even A Small Snow Slide

The story of the meeting of Xander and Ariya is an interracial contemporary romance. It certainly wasn't an avalanche, not even a small snow slide

I've never read so much shoulder bunching in my life. No, not hunched shoulders. There was even slouched shoulders - Absolutely nothing sexy about bunched shoulders. Just as there was very little realistic sex in this book.

The plot was very thin. The mix up was the most interesting thing about this book which isn't saying much.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice: 🌶️/5

This was my first book by Sade Rena and it was a quick read during my kid’s nap today. While I liked the premise for this novella, I did think the overall plot was a bit muddled with the amount of time spent establishing a group dynamic including the side characters; I wanted more one on one time with the MCs. I loved the intense passion that ignited between Ariya and Xander, and it was good to get his backstory (why he was so conflicted and awkward at times). Overall, it was a feel good story, but could have been more to the point.

Snowed In Love ❤️

Xander doesn’t know it when he helps his friends and their girlfriends settle into the cabin that love awaits him. Neither is Arita aware that she too will be smitten by love, after all she sees herself as the “fifth wheel.” The group is snowed in by a blizzard of a snowstorm and that’s when sparks fly between Xander and Ariya! They’re in for a bumpy ride, but love ❤️ WILL prevail!!!🦋

Good short read. More falling in lust than love. Xander was a turn off; he was so wishy-washy. Through the explanation of his marriage falling apart I felt that he was selfish and needed to see a grief counselor. The way Ariya kept chasing after him made her seem desperate and pathetic. And her friends’ meddling was not cool. Instead of a HEA they got a HFN. Overall 3.5 stars.

Lameeeee, writing was average. The story was bland and predictable, main character was EMBARASSING. Who goes after a man that sleeps with you n ditches you right after.

He obviously isn't over his late wife so why jump into a relationship? Moreover, his character has no depth none of them really do.

Wouldn't read it again, wouldn't recommend it.

Overall good but needs editing

I like Xander and Ariya's chemistry. Ariya was not afraid to go after what she wanted, even if she thought her friends orchestrated thre meet up. And Xander's reluctance was understandable a little. I just wish there was another editing round.

Cute and Quick

This is a story of mistaken blind dates. On a trip with her friends to the mountains, Ariya is intrigued by Xander and they connect. But is he the date she was expecting?

Avalanche: A Blind Date Gone Wrong Romance, written by new to me author Sade Rena, is an emotional, slow burn romance, that’s brilliantly written with an engaging storyline. Xander and Ariya were captivating as they each dealt with their past to be able to move forward. Loved it!!

💭

This was a good read. Ariya is set up on a blind date by her friends and it doesn’t go as planned but works out well in the end. Her girls were kind of mean for not getting all info and pictures up front! Xander is sweet but he felt kind of weak to me until his reasoning for being so hesitant to start something with Ariya came out. I liked their happily ever after.
