Hannah Williams is an artist and co-owns a successful event management company. For the first time in her life, the things she’s always dreamed about are coming true. When she meets Brett Forster, she knows she has to be careful. Falling for a cattle rancher from Montana is the worst thing she could do—even if he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to her.
Brett has spent his life running from trouble. His traumatic past has left deep scars that make it hard for him to trust anyone. He isn't looking for love, but when Hannah lands in his arms, he isn't letting go.
THE GIFT is the second book in the Montana Promises series and can easily be read as a stand-alone. All of Leeanna's series are linked. If you find a character you like, they could be in another novel.

The Gift by Leeanna Morgan - I enjoyed the story of Brett and Hannah. It was a mystery and romance type book. Easy to read and kept me interested. Brett and Hannah have both had difficult childhoods and have found family in some great friends. They meet unexpectedly and each has their own direction they want to take. Brett is a very protective and genuine cowboy who takes care of the people he loves. Hannah is helping her sister Claire to reach her dream and along the way she finds perhaps where she was headed is not where she wants to be after all. Read this as a stand alone book but looking forward to reading some more in this series.
I am so happy to catch up with some of my old friends. Hannah and Claire,'s event service I just knew would be a big hit from previous books. But Hannah you can't leave your calling...it pulls you back in. Pat and Ida such wonderful folks, with the ranch and the house full of artwork. Not to mention Brett. Hannah and Brett's story is not your typical "romance". Our author has given us much to think about tied up with a nice storyline as well as introducing us to another new character that I am hoping will be Claire's love interest in an upcoming book. Well written romance with depth.
Leeann wrote a wonderful story about how two families had a terrible home life but a couple living on a ranch showed them what true happiness was. A cowboy and an event planner met up and became friends then a lot happened that brought them together and found the love they never had growing up. A wonderful story to read and you can't put it down.
The author leads down a path to assume we will know who the thief is. But, oh no, not a cookie cutter and I enjoyed the surprise.
I was somewhat disappointed in the decision the h made about her future and how the H reacted.
The best part of the story were Ida and Pat. Their love shown and my heart ached for Pat in how his future looked. Also, liked the side characters of Thomas, Dave and Mrs. Bennett.
This is book 2 but a standalone story with crossover characters. Clean story, with only a few kisses. The story ended at the 95% mark on my e-reader, rest teaser for the next story.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, wanted more from the ending on the future of our MC, some romance and clean.
I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)
An engaging narrative that initially promises intrigue but ultimately falls short of expectations. The book's synopsis oversells the "stolen painting" element, creating a misleading premise that fails to deliver. While the story attempts to introduce complexity through a side character's backstory involving parental incarceration, this plot device feels contrived and lacks genuine narrative depth. The resolution surrounding the missing painting proves anticlimactic, leaving readers feeling underwhelmed and disconnected from the core storyline.
Ms. Morgan introduces her characters and they become family. As you read you can almost smell the luscious aromas coming from Mrs. Bennett's kitchen. Tears come to your eyes as first one thing and then another happen - circumstances get complicated. Will the Gift be overlooked or ignored? As you get involved in the lives of Hannah and Brett, what is your Christmas wish?
Whe your young life has been filled with so much sadness and trauma and hurt. Being abandoned by your parents and so much disappointment it is difficult to trust and feel like a good life could be yours. Seeing real love and letting go of those negative thoughts and believing and feeling it and believing it can be yours is wonderful. Seeing how it can help heal is even more wonderful.
Hannah came from an abusive home.Dad in prison and Mom mostly absent. She and her sister lived and worked together. Hannah's greatest desire was to become a professional artist. Then she met Brett a cowboy. He was a loner because of his abusive childhood. Interesting how they both thought they were destined to be alone because of each of their back grounds. Good read for all.
Hannah has been through a lot, and so has Brett. Their childhoods were not very good, but they've learned how to overcome those obstacles. Brett found a family in Ida & Pat, the owners of the ranch he manages, and Hannah and her sister Claire learned how to be strong on their own together. The troubles that the two young ranch hands get into (Dave especially, with his father's threats from prison) put everyone in danger, including Hannah & Claire. And Ida getting so sick was heartbreaking. Hannah was delighted by the discoveries she made when cataloging Pat & Ida's artwork, and her joy of living lightens Brett. Both of them deserve the happiness they've found with each other.
Hannah and Brett have both had hard childhoods. When Brett goes to work for Pat and Ida on their ranch, his life changes. When Hannah and her sister, Claire, move to Bozeman, their lives change. I really enjoyed reading about these characters and I can’t wait to read Claire’s story next. I love how Leeanna Morgan lets us catch up with previous characters we’ve read about.
Did I miss it? He likes her from a distance… she moves to the ranch he works on for a week… he’s saying I love you… but we didn’t get to see any of the relationship! And this is only at 40%. Then supposed danger happens… but doesn’t…
I couldn’t keep reading. It felt like there were huge holes and I finally gave up.
Leeanna did it again. She created a wonderful love story filled with very likable characters. The story also brings together characters from previous books. This storyline also has enough suspense to keep you wondering what will happen. I'm looking forward to reading Book 3 in this series and plan on getting her other series too.
3.5 stars. Another story, but with characters that I have to know what their story is. So, I will have to digress to a different series to read about them. I had thought that Mia and Stan would be in this book. Not so, other than a very brief mention. Hannah and Brett’s story was interesting, the added suspense was good. Loved learning about the artist and when/where he painted.
I would have give a 5 star rating for the story because it was a good story and I enjoyed it. But I wanted to give a 1 star rating for encouraging people to release balloons into the sky. They kill livestock and wildlife and it’s a very irresponsible thing to do!
How does one know when you’ve met your soulmate? The gift of love.Hannah and Brett are attracted to each other. However, there are circumstances that keep them apart. Read this sweet book to see how they work their lives out with a HEA
Brett and Hannah's story was interesting and fresh with some extra twists to it. Christmas at the ranch with the theme of family being what you make it was really great!
I enjoyed reading this story about a young woman who tries to find time to be a full-time artist but is too busy helping her sister plan and execute special events. Along the way she meets a young man who interests her but they are from broken families.
A mild story of old and new love by different characters & age groups. There were several mysteries that needed solving. Some of the chaos started to annoy me. I was very confused at times. Communications between the characters jumped everywhere and no where at times.
Definitely a sweet romance! Really enjoyed this book. Once you start reading you do not want to put down, some drama and suspense but good old fashioned love story Thanks Leeanna
Meh. Not completely terrible but certainly not good. Thought I’d try a “Montana cowboy” story just for fun. But this wasn’t even fun. Beyond predictable, with a “damsel in jeopardy” side plot that tried to drum up some suspense. It really didn’t. I do know better- I didn’t know why I bothered, and finishing it was a waste of time.
Loved the attraction between the main characters but also the interaction with family and friends. Such a feel-good small town story with the underlying tension of bad guys in the background.
Two people with difficult childhoods and family problems are told they'd be good together. They're not so sure. Once they spend time together because of work a bonding begins.
Relationships aren’t always easy and sweet. And sometimes you have to work at them, see the errors and change them. Both of their parents had bad marriages, could they risk their happiness on a relationship?
Another winner in my list of books. Family, tradition and a bit of intrigue. This book has it all. Bring your coffee, cheesecake and a blanket. You are in for a treat.
This book described every detail of the sad lives Hannah and Brett had early in their lives and how Brett had helped two boys straighten out their lives. Pat and Ida helped Brett in so many ways. The book was great with all the drama.
Two "damaged" people have heir lives thrown together. they are confronted with danger from the outside as they go about with their lives and helping others. I love a happy ending and this did not disappoint.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The gift. Leanna has a way with words. The characters and the way they inter twine with each other's lives really make the story come to life.
The story started off slow, but in time it speeded up. Once the story got going it became very interesting and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen.
I really enjoyed this book! A little slow in spots but still moves along. I liked Hannah & Brett, as well as Pat & Ida and Claire. Wholesome story—could have used a little spice but overall a good read.
