He killed my enemies, so I made him my king.

As the self-proclaimed heiress of a twisted secret society, I vowed to make my enemies pay in blood. To claim my crown, I followed my family's tradition by manipulating others to do my dirty work for me.

Except my father never wanted me to rule over the Marked Blooms Syndicate. He expects me to be the silent wife, obeying the husband he chose for me.

Then Hazard infiltrates the Syndicate and sees down to the deepest, darkest corners of my violent soul. Each time he kills for me, he unravels another thread of my composure, showing me just how much chaos and bloodlust lurk within my cruel heart.

He even gives me my first kill.

But that doesn’t mean I’ll tell Hazard all of my secrets. He wants his sister’s killer, but that information is how I control him.

I will be the queen of the Marked Blooms Syndicate, and no one will stop me.

Not even him.

Author’s Note: Broken Queen is a standalone dark romance. It contains disturbing content and a gruesome secret society. Reader discretion is advised.

This book was dark, and I mean like pitch black dark, definitely nor for people with trigger warnings.

Hazard and Zira are the epitome of toxic, they both are psychopaths and villains from the start until the end, they never stopped until they reached their desire outcome, they didn’t feel remorse and they had their twisted version of HEA.

I loved that Hazard would do anything for Zira, he unalived people that had previously hurt her or wanted to. He was searching for answers about her sister and Zira wanted to take over the syndicate, they both helped each other.

ARC received in exchange of my honest opinion.

Trigger Warnings: Rape, Beheadings, Blood Play, Violence, Brutality

Zira Bloom the self proclaimed heiress of the Marked Syndicate Secret Society. She has been making a cameo in the previous 2 books and I was wondering what her story was. Zira's story is both heartbreaking and traumatic. Zira always had dreams of ruling the Marked Blooms Syndicate. She was born into a life of violence, money and power. Her father always wanted a son but her mother gave birth to her instead; Zira's story is really upsetting because she witnessed the night her father (the owner of the Syndicate) sacrificed her mother by beheading her during his annual Masquerade event held to welcome new initiates into his secret society.

Zira wanted nothing more than to be taken seriously and sit on the Board and rule along side her father. Instead she suffered being raped repeatedly, abused and forced by her father and later her husband to participate as a sacrifice during the annual Masquerade events. Zira knew her father would never give her a seat on his throne but she had just enough hate and bitterness in her heart to know that if that position wasn't freely given she would just take it.

On a mission to find out what happened to his sister Hazard took a job as a contractor for the Bloom Estate; Hazard has been keeping his eye on the beautiful and cold heiress. On the night of Zira's last Masquerade as a sacrifice is when their paths crossed.

Zira and Hazard would be what most people would consider the epitome of toxic. These two were pretty much serial killers in a sense. Hazard was so enamored with Zira that he brutally killed any and every man who has ever raped, beaten or abused her in any way, shape or fashion. Hazard wanted answers about his sister that he knew Zira had and Zira wanted to take control of the Marked Bloom Syndicate but knew she needed Hazard to help.

If you have triggers this is NOT the book for you. This is a story of 2 brutal killers who took what they wanted by any means necessary and had no remorse for the vile and brutal acts they committed; but in the end they each got what they wanted as well as a dysfunctional HEA. I mean this couple is really, really out there and they have no moral compass whatsoever. Seriously, who enjoys using a guillotine as a form of foreplay and even worse why am I eagerly waiting to see if there will be another book about the vile, disgusting, brutal shenanigans that take place at the Marked Bloom Syndicate. Yup; I definitely need an intervention :)

This book was super dark. It was great though i loved Hazard and Zira they were amazing together. Little psychos but amazing all the same. I loved that even though it was dark it was still a happy ending i would definitely recommend this book for people without triggers.

I’m sorry to say I DNF’d at 80%. I just cannot force myself through the rest. The main idea for the story is interesting to me, but I was hoping it’d maybe have a dark, evil feminist kind of vibe. Instead, it was just this woman lusting to be in power of this horrific, disgusting, misogynistic society. I truly did not understand her want for power. She didn’t want to take down the society, at least it didn’t seem like she did, and she maybe said once that she wanted to save all the women being tortured and treated like meat. But for the most part, all she cared about was herself and seeing herself with a crown. And Hazard was the oddest character ever. He went for revenge for his sister, spotted a hot blonde, then decided he would do anything for that hot blonde. Like my man, what are you doing? He knows what these men do to women, so he knows his sister was probably treated atrociously, but his focus is on… a hot blonde woman he’s never met…? I just feel like this story lacked all emotion and the characters motivations were muddy at best. It has so much potential, cause the world is seriously dark and terrifying, but it just wasn’t executed in a way that made sense.

This is a VERY (I cannot stress this enough, VERY) dark romance, so please check trigger warnings before reading.

I'll be honest in saying that the first 30-35% of the book was a struggle for me, but I wanted to see the story through because the concept was good. I didn't feel super connected to the characters, nor did I understand their motives completely. However, as the story progressed I found myself loving the main characters, Hazard and Zira. Are they psychotic? Without a doubt. Are they toxic and gritty as hell? Yes. Did I enjoy myself regardless? Also yes.

Stories like these won't be for everyone due to their very twisted nature. However, if you find yourself liking the more dark and disturbed when it comes to romance and secret society politics, I recommend giving this a try!

Zira and Hazard

Zira has always wanted to take over the Marked Blooms Syndicate, but being that she was a female, her father never thought of her being anything other than the quiet, submissive wife. But she has other plans, and when she meets Hazard, those plans will fall into place.

Broken Queen is dark and gritty, and is full of triggers. The author doesn't a phenomenal job in giving us a story that completely sucks you in and holds you captive until the very end. The writing is perfect and the plot is intriguing.

Hazard and Zira are the definition of toxic love, but I can't help loving them together. Both have their psychotic moments, and both have a killing streak, killing anyone that stands in their way or have caused them harm.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed the book, it definitely had a lot of intense moments, both past and present. I would have enjoyed more sex between the main characters, but the scenes I did read were well written and powerful -- much like the main characters themselves.

Most secret society books I've read have a lot of these initiation type requirements, this book however was definitely unique in the types of scenarios they were engaging in and who was expected to be sacrificed.

I will say that I personally found it difficult getting through the first chapter, only because I was unaware how much the teeth pulling would affect me, in reality there were much more graphic things throughout the book so that was definitely personal to me.

All in all, I found it to be a good read and I will definitely be reading more from Audrey Rush. .

Definitely check your trigger warning for this one! It has beheadings, rape, gruesome explanations and brutality! I got an advanced copy and this review is my honest opinion of what I thought about this book! I felt like it was missing something. It jumped from one scene to the next without a real transition. Like pieces were missing or taken out without a new transition into the next part. But it was definitely my favorite book of the series! It a good stand alone!

Wow! I was looking forward to Zira’s story, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this depraved. While it didn’t have as much degradation and humiliation (thankfully) in it as the two previous books, it made up for it with the depravity. Heed the trigger warnings on this one as while it’s not detailed, there is some history of sexual child abuse and incest that is referenced a few times. The actual events aren’t detailed (for which I’m happy), but it’s brought up.
Some of the actions of the main characters were just a little too much for me at times, but there is a lot of action in this book, so it kept me engaged. There was one part where the scene was a little confusing as they talked about discarding the rest of something (trying to avoid spoilers in this one), but I re-read the previous sentence trying to figure out when they even started
Overall good book. My one pet peeve with revenge stories, which isn’t isolated to this book, is that it is so short lived. The victims suffers for years of abuse and torment, yet the tormenter only experience a brief amount of the same abuse before they are greeted with death. Truthfully it would be refreshing to read a story where they suffer the same abuse for the same amount or time or doubled, before they are granted the mercy of death. When there are societies or multiple people, they should be forced to torment each other in an effort to relieve some of their suffering; and if they are men, they should be force fed impotence meds everyday to not only make sure they are capable of participating, but also suffer from the discomfort or constant/frequent erections and if they get priapism as a result, even better lol (sick I know, but the villains in these stories deserve only the best 🤪)

Broken Queen
A Dark Revenge Romance
Audrey Rush
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Zira is self proclaimed heiress of a secret society that is so dark and twisted, even the devil himself would shiver at the things they do. There is only one way for Zira to get what she wants and that is by manipulating others to do her dirty work.

Except her own father never wanted her to rule over the Marked Blooms Syndicate. He wanted her to be a silent wife, and just obey the husband he chose for her.

Then Hazard somehow infiltrates the Syndicate, which is not easy to do.

When Hazard looks at her, she realizes that he can see right down into her soul, or what's left of it, and each time he kills someone for her, he shows her just how much chaos and bloodlust lurk within her cruel heart.

But that doesn't mean she'll tell Hazard all of her secrets. He wants his sister's killer, but that's what she uses to control him.

Zira is certain she will be Queen of the Marked Blooms Syndicate, and no one will stop her.

Audrey Rush is brilliant. I don't know where she comes up with these fantastic words, but I do know I absolutely loved every word of this book. I was really excited to hear that Zira got her own story. She was always shrouded in mystery. She'll help you, but you will owe her big time and, she will collect. Now Hazard is a very naughty person, but so awesome. This couple goes together just like Bonnie and Clyde did. They were so incredibly insane, that their antics actually had me shivering at one point.
If you love dark, twisted books just grab it because you don’t want to miss this one. Ms. Rush I can't wait to see what you write next.

Heyyy! First and foremost, tysm!! To Audrey Rush and Booksirens for an eARC copy of this book :)

My rating: 3.7-4 /5 🌟
Spice level: 5/5!!🔥 (pls check cw’s)

OKAYYYYY, phew! That was definitely a wild ride, I read an ARC copy of Broken discipline, and I thought then “wow that was dark”, LET ME TELL YOU, that book! Is ALMOST NOTHING compared to. This one, and i have to say I enjoyed it, yes is very dark, some things out of my comfort zone, some things that were off with me, but we all have to try new things, right?

Plot wise, I know I say the word “gripping” a lot, but THIS book had me GRIPPED, read in an hour, just couldn’t stop. The definition of an rollercoaster of emotions.

Character wise, Zira our female mc, she’s strong af, the way she always struggled with her father and all she’s been through, wow. ALSO, I have to say im scared of her, truly :), moving on… to our male mc, Hazard (scared of him too btw) you know that trope? that goes, you touch her and you’re dead, yeah… THAT’S this book.

So as I said, im scared of them, and THEM TOGETHER?! I don’t know how to properly explain myself, so here’s a quote for you <3

“Everything is for you, my queen.”

Sooo…

If you like:
- Dark (DARK) romance
- “Hurt her and you die” trope
- Killler romance
- Heiress fmc
This book is for you!

Marked Bloomed Syndicate is just as corrupt as it was in the previous books. A group of elite and wealthy men who make sacrifices of their women, adult children, mistresses and a few men. Tortured and s€xually abused to satisfy their depraved desires.
Zira's father is the head of the Marked Bloomed Syndicate. She has done everything her father has asked her to do in hopes of gaining a seat on the board. She wants to change thing for the better for women. But because she is a woman she realizes it probably won't happen since her douchebag of a husband had gotten the seat instead.
Hazard poses as a construction worker in order to gain access into the syndicate hoping to find out what happened to his sister.
There is an instant attraction between Hazard and Zira but she stays faithful to her husband...
Until....
When bodies of the board start dropping like flies a new man fills the seat.
Hazard and Zira are perfect for each other. Psychotic. Floved those scenes!!
Thank you Booksirens and the author for a digital copy. Read and reviewed voluntarily and the opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

I loved reading this dark romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up as I know what I am in for. I enjoy this author's writing skills and attention to details that make her stories pop and how she is able to bring the stories to life. Her books are fast paced and have relateable characters. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters. They are creative and supportive of each other. This is a story about determination and a woman who wants to be queen of the Syndicate. Hazard killed for her and now she has made him her king. You don't want to miss what happens with these two next. I loved their chemistry and what they brought to the story. They are my favorite and made me come back for more. Their growth and the growth of the plot is great throughout the story. This is a fast paced story that is easy and entertaining to read. It is dark but that just made the story more engaging. I loved reading this book. I highly recommend it and this author.

I received this as an ARC.

Make sure to check your CW with this book (listed at the bottom). It is very dark and does not pull punches.

I loved these characters! I wouldnt even say morally grey so much as just really morally broken but in a way that is understandable given the history and context. Hazard's devotion and worship of Zira was absolutely hot and sweet even in a very twisted way. I really like Zira's strength but also her brokeness. Her response to her trauma was actually very realistic for some that are repeatedly abused. Her taking her power back, regardless of how brutal, was admirable.

The smut was top notch and the revenge plot was *chef's kiss*. Really enjoyed this! The only reason I knocked it down to 5 stars is that some of the dark content was a little rough for me (the incest part) so that colored my enjoyment just slightly. But it wouldnt be a problem for some.

CW: sexual assault (mentioned and on page), removal of body parts, torture, murder, revenge, blood, incest, mental illness, voyeurism, edge play, cheating (not by main characters), sex around a dead body

Broken Queen By @audreyrushbooks ARC review

This is my first book from this author and holy shit! It is not going to be my last because I love how dark and twisted this book was.

Zira wanted to be a board member for he Marked Blooms Syndicate but my father was never really goin to let me take a spot. I am supposed to just be a good wife and give him a son. I am supposed to just sit look pretty and obey my husband.

Incomes Hazard and he is trying to take down the Syndicate as well. He sees my darkest secrets, he can see right into my soul to know what all my deepest thoughts. He kills for me to prove his devotion for me. I do not want him to unravel anything but slowly little by little is he worming his way into my black heart.

I am keeping a secret from Hazard. He wants to know who killed his sister and I know, but I'm keeping it. I plan to use that secret to keep him by my side.

Please please check TW before reading this book because it has DARK themes.

Audrey Rush took this trilogy out with an intensity I was in awe of from the first pages. I will suggest at the onset that you if you have not read the first two books in the Marked Bloom Syndicate stop here and go back to them first. The fire of the words in this angst ridden emotional book are more adrenaline producing for me as a result of having the experience of the previous books as back story. The main characters in this book are so twisted that I kept pausing to shake my head and yet I was propelled forward by the dark quick pace development the story and the emotional push pull of the journey through Zira and Hazard's relationship. It was an honor to be given an ARC copy of this book. I hope this review gives you the incentive to see what I am alluding to in the pages of Broken Queen. I am finding it difficult to provide more of a review without the risk of a spoiler so take the leap and read the this Audrey Rush series. My ONLY flag would be if you do not read violence this book is not for you. It is dark physically and sexually.

A story about how even psychos can fall in love.

This is honestly the darkest book I've read. There were no "pick me up" spots in this story- it's dreary and dark from start to finish so if that bothers you, or any of the many triggers you'll find in this book, you'll want to pass on this one.

I was torn between giving this 3 stars or 4. Four won, just because it is well written, and even though you know deep down none of these characters are worth rooting for, you can't help but want for them to make better choices. They don't, but you still somehow have hope they might. They treat each other and everyone else like crap, and you'll still root for them. Or maybe I just need therapy 😅

I will say one more time that this is DARK. It's not super descriptive, but parts can still be hard to read, especially with all the triggers. I wouldn't recommend this book for that reason alone (as I don't know your triggers). Look into the triggers before you delve into this one.

You were supposed to worship women. They would bow so much more willingly when you treated them like the goddesses they are. — Hazard.

Zira and Hazard remind me a bit of the Joker and Harley Quinn. Zira would be the Joker. She is that insane. Can’t blame her, though. Once you read her origin story, you too will understand. Towards the end of the story, she made me think of Raymond Reddington from the Blacklist.

This was the grand finale to this series and it literally went out with a bang. Hazard and Zira were both tortured souls, a bit unstable, and perfect for each other. After reading books 1 and 2, I had no idea how Zira was going to pull off her coup. This story was a page-turner and the crazy people even got a murdery HEA. Loved it.

I liked this entire series and do recommend it. Well written dark romance series.

This is the final book in the Marked Blooms Syndicate (MBS). The Marked Blooms are a secret society, full of powerful men whose wives are sometimes sourced from the Syndicate. They have to source them from nearby small towns, because wives don’t last long with these men. Zira Bloom, only child of MBS founder Gore Bloom, looks forward to the day she takes her seat at the table and rights a lifetime of wrongs. Enter Hazard Boucher, a chaotic, amoral man who does as he pleases. Hazard & Zira join forces to obtain their own ends, and the result is a whirlwind of death, debauchery, and perhaps a bit of peace for their souls. I love the way the author treats her characters—they run wild & true in her stories, no matter their natures. The content warnings will either have you running to 1-click or scare you off completely. Dark goodness.

I beta read an unfinished draft copy of this story. I also read an ARC copy of this book. My opinions are my own, voluntarily given.

You ever read something and you have no idea Wtf will happen?

Zira & Hazard are manipulative. They like to play games. And both are after something from The Bloom Syndicate.

With Zira & Hazard though, they both knew they were playing games with each other. Each of them would dangle something they wanted in front of the other. But you could never really tell who was ahead of the other before they were using a new tactic.

When one final move is to be made, will they end up on the same side?

The spice was animalistic & wild. Each fighting for control and to have the other on their knees in front of them. But man was it 🔥🔥🔥

This book involves: power moves, manipulation, unaliving, betrayal, lies, toxic love, unhinged MMC & FMC & lastly ALL the triggers (seriously check them)

This book was for SURE a page turner. It kept me hooked, and left me wanting more. Now, I’m someone who has no triggers, I don’t really “WTF” a book or question things I’m reading. There were some scenes that had me like gripping the edge of my seat hoping that they weren’t going to turn out how it looked like it was going, & thank goodness that it didn’t. I’m trying to write this without any spoilers, but this book had it all for me. The guillotine scenes, especially when Zira was being “drilled” while her head was quite literally on the chopping block… *swoons*. & the HEA made me so happy, because it seemed like Hazard & Zira were fighting the attraction & the fact that they were in love with each other, but once they finally got some act right, my heart was happy. All in all, I LOVED this book. Triggers galore; so check them out!

If you love a story where the villains win, this is definitely the book for you. From the first line to the last, it was a WTH did I just read. I wasn't sure of all TWs and decided to go in mostly blind. I absolutely loved the book! When I say the main characters were villains, that is exactly what I mean. Were they molded into what they were, yes. Did it make me like them less, absolutely not. I rooted for these two. At times I was angry for them, and others I was angry at them. Hazard was an interesting mix of crazy and protective and my heart broke for Zira from the first page. The author does a great job of making you root for characters you would normally think are irredeemable. I would recommend this book and thoroughly enjoyed the read!

This is usually not my genre, I was very curious to see how intense this book would get. I know it would be a wild ride when I saw that the author's note at the beginning of the book, instead of the end of it. I am not a huge fan of dark romance, so my three star is totally subjective, I hardly give four and five stars. Even if it's not my genre, I can tell the author knows how to write and her descriptions are really well delivered.

This is a book that I would recommend to people that love the genre and are interested in getting out of their comfort zone.

Well this was definitely another great dark and decidedly brutal read. Having said that it was so nice to see Zira getting her revenge for her past treatment and it was ever so sweet. Were the characters of Zira and Hazard likeable you will have to read it and find out but I can tell you that Hazard certainly had a way with him. A seemingly insignificant brutal scene was what brought Hazard and Zira together. He wanting to find out what had happened to his sister and it was intriguing to see how cleverly the author brought the previous book characters to this book. Superb read, great dark characters (with heart?) and I recommend this to anyone who likes dark violent but intriguing stories.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OMG!! I absolutely loved this book, the author Audrey Rush has done an incredible job with the Dark very disturbing games. Marked Blooms Syndicate has sadistic rich men the toys they used guillotines, knives, blood, water, fear, rape, smothering and plenty more. Zira's life changed after her mother was killed, her father used her, he raped her even in places that should never have happened, he was rough, he even handed her over to the Syndicate on numerous times. Zira wanted to be on the Syndicate board she was set up in an arranged marriage to Logan then he was put on the board. Zira was down by the pool when she met Hazard, he was there for other reasons will he do do what he wanted. This book was definitely worth reading, I could not put the book down.

Dark and Lusty. Those are the first words that came to my mind when I finished this book. I have never read a book where the villainous main characters felt so irredeemable.

There were points within the story that I felt myself physically squinting in anticipation of what was coming next. As though by blurring the words I could soften their impact. Through every deviant chapter I felt myself slipping further and further into the rabbit hole of the MBS.

Do I feel like this book wrapped up the Marked Bloom Society saga? Not really. So much more could be said.

But with that, I have to give credit to the author for another job well done. Thank you Audrey, for taking us on one twisted ride.

Super grateful to have gotten to be an ARC reader for this book!
This is a DARK romance y’all! I mean the kind where there are no hero’s and being good doesn’t exist. From the brutal beginning, this book propels you into a world of evil. I mean how do you really survive evil besides becoming it yourself? The love story is twisted with the best push and pull! The spice brings out the depraved side of our MC! I loved the ending, it really brought the story together. It never felt rushed or like you were missing info. Loved it!

Trigger warnings are heavy in this book. Please be careful with yourself before deciding to read this book.

Audrey Rush does a great job making each of these books in this series read like a stand alone. I've read the last 2 books and will now head back to book 1 Broken Surrender. This is The Marked Blooms Syndicate's princess Zira's story. As head of the Syndicate, her misogynous father simply sees her as a pawn to be used for his needs and advantage. Hazard charges into her life ready to do anything, kill anyone for her. This book is dark, full of twists, and ugly turns. Sizzle, steam, and so much more. This series is available on Kindle Unlimited, so all three can be a binge read weekend.

I received an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.

4.5 stars!!!

Once again, Audrey Rush is the absolute queen of dark romance. I had such high hopes for this book, especially with the glimpses of Zira we got in the other books, and it definitely did not disappoint. Zira's story is so dark and twisted, you can't help but understand why she is so conniving and loves violence. Hazard really is her perfect match in this. The smut was DARK and off the charts, check trigger warnings before you read because they are in to some dark stuff. I am sad these books are over, but this truly was the perfect end to the syndicate story.
