Sōichirō Yamamoto (山本崇一朗, Yamamoto Sōichirō) is a Japanese manga artist. He is known for writing and illustrating Teasing Master Takagi-san and Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru. Both series have been published in Monthly Shōnen Sunday and Weekly Shōnen Magazine, respectively.
Okay, this manga really got me in the opening pages of this volume! Now I’ll be wondering for volume upon volume what ends up happening in “the future” for these characters! But this volume was really cute, even though some of the gags are almost repeats of each other from time to time.
The bulk of this volume is the usual hi-jinx, but the last chapter has a perfectly cute ending and the first chapter is flat-out charming with a great hook. Probably the best part of the series so far.
From the flash forward scene at the beginning to the critical hit scene at the end, this series hits all the right notes for young romance, nostalgia, and coming of age stories. The flash forward scene was my favorite. Takagi-san as a mother was adorable. The art was excellent as well. Such a simple economy of lines, yet so many emotions were communicated. This volume was a shining example of the strength of sequential art.
Seperti biasa.
A sneak peak into the future begins this volume with an adult Takagi-san and her child as she reminisces her middle school years. Then back to the present middle school time, seeing the pair interact as he thinks he'll scare her with a jump scare video is fun. I thought it was hilarious to see him attempt to be more mature by drinking coffee, which he dislikes, as an attempt to get her to stop teasing him.
Five volumes under my belt and Nishikata has yet to win even once. This is starting to get old. I hope the author has the good sense to turn the tables soon.
I have eight volumes that I have bought. I'm sure more have been generated, but reading the same story a hundred times with variation in details only gets old.
I'M CONFUSED! Did one of Takagi's teases back fire on her? She doesn't know who was her daughter's father is? Nor does she know where her childhood friend is? What gives?
