Life should be good for Maddie Graves and Nick Winters. The only thing standing in the way of their happiness is stubbornness and doubt.

After surviving an ordeal that almost claimed Maddie’s life, and admitting his true feelings (at least to himself), Nick is at a crossroads. He has a girlfriend to break up with, and a move to make. Both tasks are giving him fits.

Maddie is happy to be alive, and thrilled to have her best friend back. She’s also panting after Nick – and the early summer heat wave isn’t helping matters. Every new encounter is steamy, and every touch is a promise of forever.

When death returns to Blackstone Bay, Maddie’s special abilities have her chasing another mystery. Nick is going along for the ride, even though he’s afraid for her safety. He knows what he wants, and he’s ready to claim the life he’s always yearned for. He just has to muster the courage to tell Maddie how he feels.

There’s an enemy stalking Nick and Maddie, though, and they’re going to have to embrace ‘together’ before they can sample forever.

Another one devoured in a day and a half. Really enjoy Lily Harper Hart's, easy flowing simple writing style. OK it doesn't test your brain but it's enjoyable escapism.

I know many people may not like the constant professions of love, but I'm loving the relationship with Maddie and Nick. I'm sure something serious will happen with Cassidy in the next. I can't get enough of Maude, crazy granny. I feel like the bad guy is always too obvious. Creepy, smiling guy is obviously the culprit.

This never recovered from the high school level romance of trying to entrap a boyfriend, boyfriend being a dickwad and not coming out and saying the deal that everyone knows, and then the mean girl from high school egged on the girl friend. The angsty story is centered around a much smaller, who is stalking/attacking the female residents of town. This story seems almost an after thought and the more centralized relationship takes over to the point of you thinking that the girl friend is the bad guy, which is totally not possible. This relationship is resolved to the point of Maddie and Nick being an official couple but not for Cassidy. I guess we get her story in the next one. I wouldn’t be surprised if the author kills her off but... maybe not.

The grandmother and her senior’s club is definitely the highlight in this one. There wasn’t enough of her so the humor wasn’t quite as good as the first. Then the answer to The Who Done it is out of the blue. Might have liked the romance but the extra girlfriend gets in the way.

Grave love

As Nick struggles to track Cassidy down to end their relationship Maddie reads tarot cards for Tara who works in the florists shop. Something dark and deadly lurks in the cards and Maddie is determined to help the young woman.

Between Cassidy losing the plot, Maude's mission to keep Harriet out of the Pink Ladies, and Marla's creepy new man and constant spite, it's not going to be easy for anyone, least of all Maddie and Nick.

The happy ever after is going to have to wait when Nick and Maddie, despite everything, have to solve Tara's murder.

As the plots thicken and Maddie's life comes under threat, her mother warns her but is it in time for her to escape? Will Nick discover the truth in time to save the woman he loves and has waited so long for?

The main couple seems to have been somewhat emotionally stunted. Supposedly they are mature enough now to accept Maddie's quirks, but I'm sort of waiting to see that maturity. However, they are still likable enough. The side characters are likable enough; there's the stereotypical crazy Granny and her cronies and nemesis; there's the supportive, and frankly more likable, best friend. Of course, there's also the mean girl from their high school years, which seems a standard trope in these series. So the series hasn't run me off yet; I don't love it, but I like it well enough. In this book, I felt there was insufficient foreshadowing for the reader to ID the murderer before the denouement, but is the murder mystery really the thing in these cases?

Another engaging book by Lily Harper Hart, Grave Insight continues to follow Maddie Graves as she settles back into her hometown and renews her bond with her best friend.

Summary:
Life should be roses and sunshine for Maddie Graves and Nick Winters after reuniting and reforming their friendship bond. Especially after Nick risked his life to save Maddie’s. But doubt and stubbornness still have a firm hold in the space between them. Maddie is happy to move on with her life after the close call, and ecstatic to have her best friend back. But stronger feelings also exist, and she can’t help but want to act on them the more time they spend together. As for Nick, he has a decision to make. After saving Maddie, he’s finally admitted (if only to himself) that his love for her never went away and it won’t. He has a girlfriend to break up with before anything can happen, though. Too bad that is seeming easier said than done. Matters are not helped when death hits Blackstone Bay once again. Maddie saw it coming, but she could have no clue the killer had set their sights on her, too. But Nick is determined to protect the love of his life. From anything. Even an unknown danger lurking ready to steal forever out from under them.

Maddie is settling into her hometown after a close call, and life is changing for everyone. I really like Maddie. She’s a little more innocent and timid than I’d like, but it doesn’t take away from her kind, loving, and thoughtful nature. I still have hope that her self-esteem will continue to grow in the coming books, and we’ll see her with a stronger backbone. I really like seeing her embrace who she is and using her gift to help others. I hope we continue to get more of that. I also mostly like Nick. I especially like how he finally bit the bullet and did what he needed to do. I couldn’t help but feel that he embraced cowardice too much when it came to telling Maddie how he felt. I also felt he handled the Cassidy situation very poorly, therefore earning a portion of the blame for her behaviour. I love how protective he is and the blooming possessiveness we are getting to see, though. As a couple, I’m beyond relieved at the progression between Nick and Maddie. Now there are no secrets between him and Maddie. Things are rapidly changing, but in all good ways. They were a little cheesy and gushy, but I also felt after all they’d been through, it was warranted. Overall, I was hooked on this story from beginning to end. In my opinion, the mystery element took a bit of a backseat to the drama surrounding Nick and Maddie, but it was still okay. I think it could have been a bit more fleshed out, though, with more buildup and a few more clues. I also felt a few things were left hanging. For example, Harriet’s run for the Pink Lady Society. I find all of that hilarious and would have loved to see the outcome. I was also disappointed we didn’t see Tara again. I also felt this way with Sarah in book one, so I’m curious what has happened to them after all is said and done. Supporting cast is a wonderful addition to these stories. I love Maude and want to be just like her when I grow up. The woman is feisty and wily. Lol. She’s a lot of fun. Christy is amazing, and I still adore her brutal honesty. I really hope we might get a little side story to see her find some happy while we follow Maddie and Nick’s journey. Cassidy was a complete mess. I cannot believe how she reacted at all, and spent a lot of the time during her scenes with my mouth hanging open in incredulousness. I just could not fathom the hiding. I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy Nick and Maddie’s books as much as I have. There is just something about them that has caught and held my attention. I’m also a sucker for a good friends-to-lovers romance, and Nick and Maddie have a fairytale story. I will definitely be reading on to find out what happens with them next. If you’re looking for a light, cozy mystery with a good dose of paranormal thrown in, Maddie and the town of Blackstone Bay is the perfect solution.♡

good

The only thing keeping Maddie and Nick apart now, is the unfinished business of Nick’s girlfriend Cassidy, who isn’t making it easy for him to break up with her.
When Maddie sees death in the cards for someone, she’s desperate to stop it, and when murder comes calling, Nick is both on the case, and trying to keep Maddie safe.

Part romance, part mystery, this is a sweet, small town America, paranormal story; featuring a psychic heroine and the hero who just wants to love her. It’s a lovely, sappy story, that has a lot of feel good vibes, and a couple of imperfect lead characters who are most definitely soul mates.
I love the imperfection, because otherwise the story might just be sickeningly sweet; instead it’s a slow burn romance. Nick’s handling of Cassidy, Maddie’s inferiority complex and fear of bullies, both illustrate their human natures, and give them something to overcome.
Now they’re together, it’s going to be interesting to see where it all leads. This is a nice read for paranormal cosy mystery lovers, and for paranormal cosy romance lovers alike.

Maddie and Nick have been spending a lot of time together the last few weeks. Ever since Maddie almost died.. Nick knows that he wants to be with Maddie but he has a problem by the name of Cassidy.. He keeps trying to break up with her, but shes in hiding..
Maddie reads some cards for a woman named Tara that works for the local florist, and see that she is in danger and is going to die soon.
Maddie and Nick work together to try and figure out who would want her dead.. and actually Maddie ends up saving Tara, only for her to be killed a couple days later.. Taras ghost remembers a little bit, but not enough to point them in the direction of who killed her.. After Tara dies, the killer seems to set his sights on Maddie..
THis is a great new series.. Im loving Maddie and Nick.. and can't wait for the next one!

I pretty much love all of Lily Harper Hart's books. I think this is the 4th series I've read of hers, and they are all fabulous fun. The characters are just outstanding - well developed with real personalities and both strengths and flaws.

Maddie is a sweet person. She's sensitive to what others think of her and her friends, and just wants to live her life in peace and happiness with Nick, her best friend since they were 5. Nick is a police officer, and has loved Maddie his whole life. They reconciled when she returned to town, but things aren't that simple.

Nick can't go after Maddie until he dumps the girlfriend, who is hiding from him so he can't break up with her, and it's making her a laughinstock, aggravating the situation. Of course, there's a death and Maddie is on the case again, this time with Nick at her side.

Another winner

Book Two is another good read! Maddie and Nick have so much to deal with: a potentially unbalanced ex; preventing a murder; and wrangling mischievous seniors, to begin with. So when a murder occurs, and the murderer's attention turns to Maddie, will the couple have time to actually become a couple?!

The murder mystery is well-paced and a bit dark. While Marla is a simply nasty manipulator, and Cassidy is rather pathetic, the other characters (killer excluded) are engaging and add to the charm of this story. The paranormal aspect is judiciously utilized, and it's both amusing and heartwarming to discover that the big secret is not so secret and that Maddie may not have been as friendless as she has always thought. Looking forward to "Grave Delight! "

Totally enjoying this series!

I'm very glad I decided to read this series! I love the Harper Harlow series and have read a few of the crossovers with the main female characters from some of her other series. I really liked Maddie and a teaser in one of the crossovers made me want to find out what they referred to. This had a great story line. It also answered the questions I wondered about. I'll definitely keep up with this series. I also enjoy the Supernatural Speak easy series with Ophelia. Also a wonderful series!

This is going to be a great romance. Nick & Maddie are finally going to get their happily ever after. Nick's ex, Cassidy, is not happy. In fact, she's manic and the town bully, Marla Proctor, is egging her on. Maddie gives a tarot reading at her store Magicks and foresees a death. She thwarts the killer's attempt once, but he strikes a second time and kills his target, Tara Warner. There's so many shady characters in this book that it's hard to guess who the killer really is. In the end, it's someone nobody would have ever guessed!

Hiding from life.

Maddie and Nick are ready to face the future if he can ever find his current girlfriend to break up with her, she's gone into hiding to avoid the inevitable breakup. Maddie is also trying to figure out how to save the life of a new friend. This is a very good book, with characters that make you feel like you're home.

Good read

Good characters, good plot, and good writing make for a good cozy mystery/romance. All those elements are present in this second in the "Grave" series, and fans of Ms. Hart will not be disappointed.

This is a great series!!

These are great cozy mysteries! I never know exactly who the killer is until the very end. Lily is a master of suspense! And she adds just enough angst and sizzle to make the story that much better..

This book was better than the first book in the series. Nike has a girlfriend that he is trying to breakup with so he can be with Maddie. But the girlfriend doesn’t want to be an ex. She hides from him and spy him. She won’t give him up.
