Fated mates until the end. Together forever, he said.
He lied.
He dotes on me right up to the day a powerful curse transforms my sleek wolf body into something horrific. There was no chance to explain. He turns on me in a beat of my broken heart, ordering the pack to kill me.
On the run from my pack and the man I loved, my only hope is in reaching the Library of Avalon and ending my curse. But I’m not the only one searching for answers there. A man quite literally from my dreams awaits me, seeking his own salvation. Together, we might just save more lives than my own, if I can learn to accept the truth that we uncover.
And I will have to. Because the only thing that hurts worse than rejection?
Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.
I didn’t realize I was reading another Riley Storm book at first. I should’ve paid more attention. She makes her females as dumb as a bag of rock (sorry rocks) and they don’t get anymore intelligent throughout the entire series. The make dumb decisions, logic is a foreign concept to them and they basically repeat the same mistakes. This book was no different.
The MC’s Soulbound mate seems to have set up her to get attacked by a mysterious shaman who works some magic on her. The entire time she’s under attack she’s pushing her emotions of fear and panic to her mate, who’s an alpha, while she’s being chased around a field and then a forest, captured in a net and beaten with canes, yet he doesn’t show up. While in the nets, she realizes they must know she’s a shifter and they are deliberately doing this to her, yet she stays in wolf form while saying she did everything she could to escape the net… I’m sorry, but I would think that since they already know you’re a shifter, hands with thumbs would work a lot better at getting yourself free than paws?
Then after the shaman doing whatever to her and all that time passing, she finally escapes and runs back to her mate and their home, the same mate who, before she left, shut his emotions in the bond off from her, made a comment about her inability to have children, and basically told her to go out on that run that seem to be an ambush from the start. He knows where she goes to run at. Suddenly nearing the house, she can feel he’s all calm and shit through the bond, despite the emotions she’s been sending for at least a half hour or more, afraid for her life? She’s all like “he’s in alpha mode” all content and crap while bloody, dirty and bruised. He’s wasn’t looking for her or even coming to her aid, despite her calling his name when she reaches their back yard.
Long story short, he and twenty of his enforcers then attempt to kill her and chase her for six days straight. She gets a reprieve for a week or so and then they are back for the kill and she wants to “talk” to him so she can go back home and be his mate again…??? So, he tries to kill her again. And fast forward, she’s trying to find cure for the sickness she believes she has that’s supposedly contagious yet her mate has taken a chuck out of her at every skirmish and his enforcers have also drawn blood and she to them. Yet no one else has contracted the disease…🤔 I mean, yeah, fear is a powerful motivator but how stupid can you be when no one that you have been fighting has turned?
I really wanted to see Johnathan get a HEA after he warmed to me in Dani’s book, but I can only do so much stupid. I think this series does find him one with Kaycee, but I can’t be sure.
After what seemed to be a simple disagreement with her soul bound mate, and alpha of her pack, Kaycee is on the run from the man who said he'd love her forever. Her only hope to find a cure for the curse is the Library of Avalon, if she can find it. While researching the cure for her curse she meets another wolf, and alpha of another pack. A man/wolf who is searching for his own answers, and possibly the only one who can save her from a brutal death. These are absolutely wonderful characters, I loved them all. They are all well written and unique. I adored Kaycee a young woman who will discover just how strong she can be when the odds are stacked against her. I was also thrilled to discover that a character from past books played an important role in this new story. Action packed from the beginning to the end, magic, betrayal, and unexpected twists in the plot. Definitely a must read from one of my favorite author's.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
When she was 10, Kaycee’s dad told her a scary story about Lycans and how different they were from wolf shifters, deformed, evil, and they kidnap children. Now she is mated to Vince, the pack’s Alpha. Lately they have been having arguments. And when a curse changes her, he turns against her and the pack wants her destroyed.
As Kaycee runs from those who will kill her, she heads to the Library of Avalon where she may be able to find information on how to end the curse. Johnathan, who had appeared in her dreams which were apparently visions, offers to help her. Who is Johnathan? Where did he come from? Could he actually help her? He read from an ancient book that “by the light of the first Wild Moon, the shift shall bind the Lycan-blood forevermore. There will be no going back after the touch of its light.” That meant she only had two days to find the cure or she would forever remain a Lycan. Although with the pack hunting her, would she even live that long?
Kaycee is a wolf shifter and mated to Vince, the pack alpha. Things have been going well with them until recently when they start having arguments and yelling matches. He has changed drastically. Then she is kidnapped. Magic is used on her to try and take her wolf from her. Pain like she has never felt before. Then Vince and the pack try to kill her. According to them she is evil. What has happened to her? A lycan. Berserker rage. A disgusted alpha. On the run. A barn and a farmer with a rifle. A terrible curse. Safety. Then no more. An awful fight. Packmates. Blood spilled. Avalon. A hugely obese man. A vampire. A portal. An enormous library. An elf. A god. Wow. What a story and I cannot wait for the next one.
Excellent Book One of Two. Author Riley Storm has written another spell-binding storyline. Her characters are smart and carry their weight beautifully. Kase is thrown into a frightening and different life due to a spell…or so she and Jonathan thinks. Is it all that appears? By the end of book one I’m hooked and want to know more about the Lycans ancient role on earth. There are no slow, boring parts to this story. I was captivated from start to finish and am looking to this story’s conclusion. I’m definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. PEACE.

This is a good new series building off a previous series, so the addition of new characters with the old intermixed makes this story even better! Our heroine can't seem to quite shake the life changing events happening to her while she is running from her pack trying to kill her. She finds new friends in unlikely places, and just when things are starting to look up, she finds herself on the run again! Just when you think there may be a happy ending, this story continues with a book 2. This is definitely a series worth reading!.

Kaycee has her world turn upside down as she is captured during a run and a spell transforms her into a Lycan. Now everyone seems to want her dead, due to old stories and legend warnings. Running, she meets Johnathan and some vampires and eventually Vir, a god. Loved the characters, the library and the dialogue. The storyline grabs you from the start and does not let go. Intense feelings of danger, hope, secrets and surprises keeps the pages turning. Loved the ending and can not wait to see where it goes in the next book. Well done on first of this new series.

Yayyyy!!!!! Can I just say I love this cool world this author has built! AND it’s a spin off continuation of her series with Vir and Dani!! Sorry if that’s a spoiler but it’s really not. This is all based on Kaycee! But- we get to see Aaron and Fred and Jonathan and shulder and I absolutely cannot wait for book 2! Though, as for Vince and his crew, I’m already wishing for bad things to rebound from karma. Oh oh, and I’d love to see the little farm couple maybe later! Pretty please lol! Excellent start!
A fabulous fast paced read that is loaded with danger, suspense and hope. Add in wolf shifters and vampires and you've got a story that just grabs hold and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I Loved every minute and could not put it down and am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. This is a spin off series in The "Soulbound" series and can be read stand alone but you will get much more enjoyment if you start from the very beginning with "Wild Moon" I read an Advanced copy in Exchange of an Honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Told from Kayees POV, who is a strong female lead. There is action and mystery in the storyline and well developed characters. But what has Vince and his pack turned into in the process of trying to kill his mate and how did he know she was Lycan in the first instance. So many questions to be answered in the next book. Not much romance but there is unbeknown chemistry between Kayee and Jonathan. It ends on a cliffhanger so cant wait to read book 2. Highly recommended
Excellent unique paranormal story. Wonderful characters such as Kaycee is now on the run from the man that’s supposed to be her soul bound mate. She has become something her pack hates. On her way to learn more she meets Jonathan who wants to help her. The journey is difficult and unique. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Storm.

I lived how the author brought each character to life; and used their lives to paint a picture bringing everything together. How she created an atmosphere of intrigue allowing you to draw conclusions from each choice the characters made, then flipping everything at the last minute. I would recommend this book to anyone that appreciates a suspenseful page turning good read, young or old all can enjoy this book.
Fated mates until the end. Together forever, he said. He lied.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Under a cursed Moon by Riley Storm. Long time Riley Storm fan and this read does not disappoint as a first in series (Shattered Wolf). I loved the life breathed into the characters, giving them depth and the ability to develop with the story. This story does not resolve, it sets up for the next book!

Overall I enjoyed this book, I read it all the way through over a weekend, the characters are well-drawn and the storyline flows well although it was a little darker than I expected I did enjoy it. I liked the character and how they were with each other and it was good to see a new baby in the mix.
I also liked how different characters are coming into play but what I didn't like was the cliffhanger, leaving us waiting to see how Kaycee and Jonathan's story continues.
I Iove Riley Storm"s books in this one. Kaycee is a wolf shifter, mated to Vince who is the pack alpha. Things are going well until suddenly they start having arguments after he has drastically changed. After being kidnapped someone tries to take her wolf from her. The pack tries to kill her, according to them she is evil. What has happened to her? What is she now a lycan with Berserker rage. There are so many twist to this story. I cannot wait for the next one.
Kaycee was captured and tortured - and changed - so much that even her pack wanted her dead. The only place that could possible hold an answer for her is the Library of Avalon - but who is the man she has dreamt of? Would he be able to help her? Will she survive to find a cure? Loved it!.

The author has given us a heart pounding story that grabs our attention from the very first page. The story keeps us turning the pages with shifters, vampires and Gods. We are left waiting for the next book, hoping to find some answers to our many questions.

This book keeps you turning the pages. As I was reading, I realized this book goes along with Aaron and Jo's story. I felt for Kaycee since her life turned upside down and it was at no fault of her own...so she thought. I enjoyed reading some characters from the other books.

I enjoyed this story about a typical wolf whose life goes sideways after she is attacked and ends up running for her life and trying to hopefully solve what happened to her. Lots of danger, surprises, magic and a bit of mystery needed solving. A bit dark but with a main character I was rooting for. Had to see what Kaycee would face and discover along the way. Interesting story.
Kaycee has been cursed after being attacked but she did not expect her pack to turn on her. While on the run, she must find a way to reverse the curse but would she be able to forgive her mate and pack from turning their backs on her?.

She thought being a my an was a curse. Once it was awakened her whole pack kept trailing her trying to kill her. They thought that is what was they were suppose to do. Even the alpha who was suppose to be her mate. great story and highly recommend this book.
